A Task-oriented Approach to the Pre-service Teacher Education in the Classroom of English Teaching Methodology （ETM）

This paper concerns itself with a task-oriented approach to the pre-service teacher education in the Classroom of English Teaching Methodology （ETM）. We attempt to use an explicit theoretic framework to guide the practice of ETM classroom in teacher education. The basic assumption is that we can use methodology which we use in teaching language, and apply those techniques and methods to train student teachers. By this approach the student teachers can adopt a research orientation to their own classrooms and their own teaching, an inquiry-based and discovery-oriented approach to learning is greatly emphasized, and they also can form the habit of generating theories and hypotheses and reflecting critically on teaching.

Research on Knowledge Pluralistic Integration of English Teaching Methodology in Higher Vocational Colleges

A Review of English Teaching Methodology in China

This paper reviews the English teaching methodology that is prevalently employed in China.It starts with a review of the historical development of the English teaching methodology from the perspective of social background,then analyzes the weakness and strengths of the popular teaching methods in use,and goes on to explore the current problems and existing difficulties in teaching English in the social context of China.Finally tentative suggestions are made for the purpose of promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of English teaching in China.

GeoQuest Project Computer Class Role Playing Game as Innovative Teaching Methodology to Foster STEAM Education

GeoQuest Project is the design of a new teaching and learning technology based on Computer Class Role Playing Games （RPG） to teach Earth Science in a STEAM educational approach. It ensures interdisciplinarity, multilinguai approach （CLIL compliance） and interactive activities in classrooms. This educational game uses students＇ personal tablets and smartphones to interact with the game, with a system more comprehensible and funny for young people compared to traditional methodologies. Students are bringing ＂in situation＂ by the adventure, so teachers can get a rigorous assessment of their skills. The Game includes several adventure paths, suitable for different age students. They are focused on scientific topics, humanities, hands-on activities in interdisciplinary way. If used conditions do not allow practical or laboratorial activities provided by the game, players can see some videos to understand the activities. Experimental results were outstanding： the RPG appreciation is in agreement with the experiments outcome. This work experience gets excellent feedbacks by teachers, in terms of efficacy of this new teaching methodology and of results achieving.

The Dynamic Interplay Between Language Motivation and English Speaking Fluency:Implications for Effective Teaching Strategies

In this study,we aim to investigate the reciprocal influence between language motivation and English speaking fluency among language learners,and to draw implications for effective teaching methodologies.By analyzing multiple cases of language learners in conjunction with relevant theories and practical insights,the study uncovers a dynamic correlation between language motivation and speaking fluency.The research findings indicate that heightened language motivation can positively impact learners’speaking fluency,while improved oral skills,in turn,bolster learners’language confidence and motivation.Building on these insights,the study proposes impactful teaching approaches,such as cultivating learners’enthusiasm for language acquisition,providing diverse opportunities for oral practice,and fostering active engagement in language communication.These strategies are designed to enhance language motivation and speaking fluency among learners,offering valuable guidance and reference for educators.

Study on Methodology of Culture Teaching

Culture teaching has to be carried out systematically and specifically. It can not only depend on the teacher＇s occasional input knowledge concerning cultures but demand fundamental changes in educational structures, philosophies and methoclologies. This paper attempts to build up a conceptual framework guiding the practice of culture-oriented English teaching. The literature review includes three main aspects： aim for strengthening awareness of culture teaching; methodology of culture teaching; culture teaching techniques. The paper also points out that only by combination of language teaching and culture teaching can students reach the purpose of enhancing the intercultural communicative competency.

On methods of ＂dual-way enjoyable teaching＂ of College English

English teaching in big classes, for Chinese college students, is the main channel to learn and practice English. In the process of a successful classroom teaching, students and teachers are required to cooperate with each other and mutually complete teaching activities in an enjoyable and harmonious atmosphere. This paper analyzes the current situation of College English teaching in China, and discusses the application of the methodology of ＂dual-way enjoyable teaching＂ in big classes, indicating that the classroom activities should be designed to enliven the class atmosphere, which is also the effective way to realize the aim of enjoyable teaching and enjoyable learning.

A Call for the Communicative Teaching of EIB

The teaching approach to EIB （English for International Business） has oeen a prolongeu and controversial issue all over the world. It is true that the economic integration and globalization has long brought different nations much closer than ever before. Teachers of EIB in the east like China, however, still differ, to some extent, from those in the west in their teaching methodology. This article aims to combine the ultimate goal of EIB teaching with the present teaching style of EIB in some Chinese universities and colleges, find the problem that disturbs and even frustrates some Chinese teachers, and suggest a way to cope with the headache.

Contrastive study on Chinese and Western teaching methodologies

This paper is to reiterate the importance of culture acquisition in learning English by comparing such four language teaching methodologies as curriculum, teaching materials, teaching approaches and assessment between China and Western countries. Then it points out that EFL education reform in China, in the sense of culture teaching, has a long way to go. The paper finds that the real application for English teaching is how to practice the culture infusion in English teaching.

An Empirical Analysis of Learning and Teaching English as a Second Language： The Chinese Perspective

This research venture investigates the trends and motives behind the English learning as a second language. The author has used the Chinese binoculars to probe into the phenomenon of English learning and teaching. English language has become an international tool of communication and business. Professional and students at China's Mainland have been learning English since long but this trend has been increased in the recent years due to the wave of globalization and also owing to the enormous emerging economy of China. Internationalization of education and the quest of knowing the culture and civilizations have spurred the need for English learning. The authors have performed a questionnaire based research with the sample of 130 university students learning Chinese at different English learning institutes at Xi＇an, Shanxi, China. The analysis of the findings in this research highlights the reasons behind the growing trends of English learning and also describes the teaching methodology for effective language teaching in the Chinese perspective.

The Lexical Approach and Its Implications for EFL Teaching in China

This paper briefly introduces the principles of the Lexical Approach, based on the classroom observations and surveys of six college English teachers who have taken lexical ideas into their classrooms, demonstrates the changes in methodology and efficiency of classroom teaching which involves implementing the Lexical Approach, and emphasizes that implementing the Lexical Approach in classroom teaching is more successful in training students＇ comprehensive skills than previous practice.

A Comparison of the Main Features of Suzuki and Traditional Violin Education

In early childhood education it is important to determine a child＇s ability or attitude towards different subjects Training and/or education geared towards these tendencies will not only ensure a more healthy future choice in education for the child but furthermore will enable the child to have a happier educational atmosphere in early childhood. Music education/training in early childhood is considered to be very important in early years. Music education/training, in the correct and proper context using tangible and feasible teaching techniques not only improves and develops a child＇s musical skills but also helps develop his/her personality. Two people who shared this view were Zolt^n Kod^ly and Shinichi Suzuki. Suzuki positively affected the educational systems worldwide with his approach to violin teaching and his ideas on early childhood pedagogy. Choosing between the Suzuki violin teaching methodology and the traditional violin teaching methodology is a personal decision. This article tries to objectively elaborate on different aspects of Suzuki and traditional violin teaching methodologies. Each methodology has its pros and cons and knowing what these are will help individuals to make a more educated choice.

On the Development of a Maritime English Visual-Audio-Lingual Course Book

Presently, with the higher requirements of maritime education and training, the development of maritime visual-audio-lingual course books are lagging behind, in that the contents are outdated, dull and away from the actual practice. They can by no means reflect the production of ocean transportation and run counter to the principles of language communication, resulting in a severe lap in the aspects of contents, quality and formation. Maritime visual-audio-lingual teaching belongs to ESP and its contents should give prominence to practice and operation, such as, instruments, equipment, machinery and principles; operation, entering and leaving ports, loading and discharging of cargo, navigation and communication, berthing and unberting, heaving anchor, etc. Many scenes and processes are not to be demonstrated by verbal means and normal methods of teaching. Therefore, a set of course book that reflects the real operational situations is of great need and one that adopts the multi-media means in visual-audio-lingual teaching is of enormous and irreplaceable privilege, in that a highly qualified visual-audio-lingual course book will provide real, clear-cut and understandable working situations, so that students will be on-scene and impressed. It will not only improve the students＇ attention and learning interest, hut also help learn practical English in real environment.

Language Structure and Social Situation： Developing Communicative Strategies for the Nigerian Teacher of English

Defining knowledge and extent of communicative competence in the Nigerian, teacher of English underlies the ability of the teacher to engage adequately in ＂can do＂ statements which describe communicative competence in an ESL （English as a second language） communication situation. Therefore, in the skills of reading, writing, listening, interactive speaking, and in the spoken production of giving a speech or presentation, should fall the teacher＇s （and by extension, his students＇） competencies--linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic. This paper examines the successful classroom communication of the Nigerian teacher of English which depends on his ability to manipulate the structures of English accurately, as well as to be able to use this knowledge in different social situations especially for the practice of impartation of knowledge. This paper postulates on the teaching of communicative competence, as it brings teachers to terms with the task of preparing students for their new role in the classroom And, the research recommends strategies to enhance the communicative competence of the Nigerian teacher for effective classroom teaching of English beyond the traditional ESL concems.

＂Learning on Gaming＂ Improves Science Learning in a STEAM Interdisciplinary Approach

The ＂Gaming to Learn＂ consists in playing a game and consequently getting a learning goal： play a game, even not specifically didactic to derive a learning outcome. The ＂Game-Based Learning＂ consists of tips, techniques and tools that apply the principles of game design to the learning process-a dynamic way to engage learners and help educators assess learning. The authors＇ approach ＂Learning on Gaming＂ is different： you learn ＂while＂ you play. To apply this concept, the authors realize GeoQuest, a Computer Class Role Playing Game to teach Earth Science in an STEAM （Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math） educational approach. The authors have realised a role playing computer game called GeoQuest creating at the same time a Role Playing Engine which involves all students to the game through their personal mobiles or tablets, giving a total interaction of the whole class to the game. Players can also discover where they are from the story of some historical and mythological figures they meet on their path. They can interact to solve several quests appearing during the game related to mineralogy, volcanology, geodynamics, history, myths.

The Integration of Graphic Disciplines in Civil Engineering Courses through Computer Graphics

This paper presents the partial results of a project in progress that aims to improve the teaching and learning of Graphic Geometry modules taught in Engineering and Civil Engineering courses at the Federal University of Pernambuco through the development of education methodologies and content integration of these disciplines using computational technologies. This study covers and analyzes the contents of Tridimensional Graphic Geometry, Technical Drawing 3 and Descriptive Geometry in the BSc course in Civil Engineering, in order to create an integrated assessment model across these disciplines from the use of specific computer graphic softwares. It is proposed to use computer graphic for： （i） concept formation, （ii） completing and/or reviewing the content, （iii） creation of a database with virtual geometric models and their applications in Engineering and for the studies of their representations, geometric properties, etc., providing digital images of everyday forms and objects. In order to begin the diagnosis of the current situation, we gave an open questionnaire to 65 students from the 16 groups of three-dimensional graphical geometry, 20 students from the two courses in Technical Drawing 3 and 35 students from the three Descriptive Geometry classes. The analysis of the data suggests that students better understand the two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional models through their modeling with the computer graphics software used, and the association of abstract concepts with concrete content. From the analysis of the data we can verify that when our students enter the foundation Engineering courses, the main difficulty in the disciplines of drawing is the three-dimensional visualization. The hypothesis is that the student will better understand the two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional models through their modeling with the computer graphic software used and the association of abstract concepts with concrete content.

The English Teaching Guideline for the nine-year compulsory education of full-time Sec-ondary school points out that:"the aim of English teaching for secondary school students is to letstudents master the basic knowledge of English language and the prelimanary ability to use Englishby the rutine practice of listening,speaking,reading and writing.To encourage students for deepinterest in the English study,and adaPt themselves to a good habit for further study,and developthe imagination and self-teaching ability."In order to meet the requirement,we must better sev-eral aspects as what should be taught,the timing arrangement,the teaching sequence arrange-ment,the improvement of teaching method in class.Among which,the reforming of teachingmethod is the key step.
