The aim of this study is the training, which is the acquisition of knowledge, abilities and skills as a result of education and practice in a certain discipline and this project has been created to make as accessible to all as possible the information about the identification and treatment of heart attack. However, the key objective has been involving only laic blind subjects in the trial and theoretical-practical course to support vital functions (BLS (basic life support)), to demonstrate that in a state of emergency, like a heart attack, even a subject affected by visual impairment, if properly trained, can be very helpful and can contribute to save a life. Fifteen partially sighted and sightless executors have participated in this study. In order to evaluate learning objectives of the course, participants have completed a pre-course test to examine these areas: cognitive and emotional, motivational, theoretical-practical; while, at the end of the course, participants have completed a comment card about the course. At the end of this study it can be seen that blind subjects do not present any type of limitation in the learning and in the execution of BLS manoeuvres after an appropriate training.展开更多

This is an important pre-requisite for pursuing strength and speed during playing. The training method can be targeted to solve some common problems, and guide students to consciously feel the touch and the change of tone, listening with ears, controlling with fingers to achieve solid and soft balanced unity.展开更多

Strong crosswinds may affect the running stability of high speed trains via the amplified aerodynamic forces and moments. In this study, a simulation of turbulent crosswind flows over the leading and end cars of ICE2 highspeed train was performed at different yaw angles in static and moving ground case scenarios. Since the train aerodynamic problems are closely associated with the flows occurring around train, the flow around the train was considered as incompressible and was obtained by solving the incom pressible form of the unsteady Reynoldsaveraged Navier Stokes (RANS) equations combined with the realizable kepsilon turbulence model. Important aerodynamic coef ficients such as the side force and rolling moment coeffi cients were calculated for yaw angles ranging from 30° to 60° and compared with the results obtained from wind tunnel test. The dependence of the flow structure on yaw angle was also presented. The nature of the flow field and its structure depicted by contours of velocity magnitude and streamline patterns along the train's crosssection were presented for different yaw angles. In addition, the pressure coefficient around the circumference of the train at dif ferent locations along its length was computed for yaw angles of 30° and 60°, The computed aerodynamic coef ficient outcomes using the realizable kepsilon turbulencemodel were in good agreement with the wind tunnel data. Both the side force coefficient and rolling moment coeffi cients increase steadily with yaw angle till about 50° before starting to exhibit an asymptotic behavior. Contours of velocity magnitude were also computed at different cross sections of the train along its length for different yaw angles. The result showed that magnitude of rotating vortex in the lee ward side increased with increasing yaw angle, which leads to the creation of a lowpressure region in the lee ward side of the train causing high side force and roll moment. Generally, this study shows that unsteady CFD RANS methods combined with an appropriate turbulence model can present an important means of assessing the crucial aerodynamic forces and moments of a highspeed train under strong crosswind conditions.展开更多

However, due to several barriers staff nurses who form the frontline of health care workforce have limited access to enhancing their clinical knowledge and competencies. To address this gap, a new cadre of nurse mentors (NMs) for the public health system were trained by specialists from a teaching hospital in a special 5-week training course. This included 54 hours of theory and 110 hours of practical in clinical obstetric and newborn care, apart from mentoring, quality improvement and health systems issues. The nurse mentors were assigned to support staff nurses in the primary health care centres (PHCs) in eight northern Karnataka districts. Each NM covered 6-8 PHCs monthly for 2 - 3 days and thus a total of 385 PHCs were reached. They received support in the field through supportive supervision visits done by the specialists who had trained them, as well as by refresher training and clinical postings to the district hospitals. This paper presents impact of the training program on change in immediate and long term knowledge and competency scores of nurse mentors. Their baseline knowledge scores changed from 44.3 ± 12.7 to 72.1 ± 13.8 immediately after the training in obstetric and from 18.2 ± 19.1 to 66.4 ± 14.9 in newborn (p p p > 0.05). Skills score soon after training increased from 62.2 ± 13.2 to 69.6 ± 12.5 in obstetric after a 1 year period and from 52.6 ± 9.3;63.5 ± 14.4 in newborn (p < 0.001) content areas respectively. These findings have implications for those interested in improving quality of maternal and child care through nurse-dependent health delivery systems.展开更多
