There are two major problems existing in current-source multilevel inverters, one is the complex PWM control method (2-logic to 3-logic conversion), and the other is the problem of current-unbalance between different levels. A simple current-balance control method via DC current feedback is applied in each single-phase 5-level CSI cell to implement the current-balance control between different levels. And to reduce the output current harmonics, POD PWM control technique was used. Simulation and experimental results showed that this new three-phase 5-level CSI topology operates correctly.展开更多

However, its suppression effect on the background harmonics in grid voltage is limited. A control strategy is presented, which is composed of an inner loop of capacitor current feedforward, an outer loop of grid-current feedforward and feedforward of grid voltage. The limitations and steps of parameters design for LCL filter are analyzed. Meanwhile, the capacitor current loop is employed to damp the resonant peak caused by the LCL filter and enhance the stability. The properties of different controllers are analyzed and compared, thereinto quasi-proportional-rasonant (PR) controller realizes the control with zero steady-state error of AC variables in static coordinates. In order to suppress the current distortion effected by the background harmonics in grid voltage, the feed-forward function is calculated for the grid-connected inverter with an LCL filter. After simplifying the block diagram, a full-feedforward control strategy for grid voltage is proposed. Theoretical analysis and Matlab/Simulink simulation results show that the proposed method has the advantages of high steady accuracy, fast dynamic response and strong robustness.展开更多

The renewable energy systems model is used in this paper to investigate the system performance when power is supplied to resistive-inductive load. The proposed system includes two inverters. The main inverter, which operates at a low switching frequency, transfers active power to the grid. The auxiliary inverter processes a very low power to compensate for the grid current ripple. Thus, no active power is processed by the auxiliary inverter. The goal is to produce a grid current with a low total harmonic distortion(THD) and to obtain the highest efficiency from the inverter system. The main inverter is controlled via a space-vector pulse-width modulation owing to its optimum switching pattern, and the auxiliary inverter is controlled via a hysteresis current-control technique owing to the technique's fast dynamic response. The proposed system is analyzed in terms of different DC-link voltage, switching frequency, and filter inductance values. The optimum system parameters are selected that provide a THD value of less than 5%.A prototype inverter system at a 10 kW output power has been implemented. The main inverter operates at a 3 kHz switching frequency, and the auxiliary inverter compensates for the grid-current ripple. In total, a THD of 4.33%and an efficiency of 97.86% are obtained using the proposed inverter system prototype.展开更多

However, the power grid in a distribution system is non-ideal, presenting itself as a voltage source with significant impedance. This means that an inverter using an LCL filter may interact with other grid-connected inverters via the nonideal grid. In this paper, damping optimization of LCLfilters to reduce this interaction is studied for a three-phase voltage source inverter(VSI). Simulation results show that resonant oscillation occurs in a distributed power grid, even if the VSI with an LCL filter is well designed for standalone applications. A small-signal analysis is performed to predict this stability problem and to locate the boundary of the instability using an impedance approach. Based on these analytical results, optimized damping of the LCLfilter can be designed. The oscillation phenomena and optimized damping design are verified by simulations and experimental measurements.展开更多

The interaction between MG and the unbalance loads or DGs will degrades the control performance of interfaced inverter in MG and dramatically leads to MG voltage unbalance. In this paper, a negative-sequence compensation based three-phase voltage unified correction strategy is proposed. While MG operates in islanded mode, a positive virtual impedance control is used to eliminate the negative voltage resulted from the negative-sequence current, and then a positive-sequence voltage control loop and negative-sequence control loop are used to improve the inverter control performance. While MG operates in grid-tied mode, the inverter operates as a negative-sequence current source to compensate the negative-sequence currents of loads to guarantee the point of common coupling(PCC) voltage balance.By using the proposed strategy, the voltage control performance of inverter can be improved;the MG power quality can be enhanced significantly. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

文摘Low voltage three-phase four-wire AC distribution grids may experience high neutral current, mainly caused by asymmetrical distribution of single-phase loads in three phases.High neutral current will not only increase line losses but also result in neutral potential variations. For the LV AC distribution grid established by a grid-forming inverter(e.g.,uninterruptible power supply and solid-state-transformer),it also suffers from the same neutral current issues. Therefore, this paper comparatively studies several neutral current control approaches and their impacts on grid voltage balance, which is required by grid code. Then, this paper proposes an optimal neutral current control approach, which can obtain maximum neutral current suppression with less impact on grid voltage balance. The correctness of the theoretical analysis is validated through both simulation and experimental results.

文摘Microgrid(MG) is generally developed at utility terminal which contains lots of unbalanced loads and distributed generations(DGs). Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
