Simulating the Saturation Threshold of a Water Environment's Response to Tourist Activities:A Case Study in the Liupan Mountain Eco-tourism Area

The effect of tourism on water environments has received a high degree of interest in the study of eco-tourism.Based on the analysis of the relationship between tourist activities and the water environment in the Liupan Mountain eco-tourism zone,the case study area,a Water Environment of Tourism Area Model(WETAM) is built to simulate the temporal and spatial changes in water quality and the response saturation thresholds under four sewage treatment scenarios.The results imply the following:(1) WETAM performs well in modeling a water environment to represent the dynamic process of water quality change in response to tourist activities.(2) Under four sewage treatment scenarios(fundamental,low,medium,and high),the threshold shows an obvious uptrend.(3) The response threshold of water quality with respect to the interference of tourist activities fluctuates seasonally due to changes in tourist density.(4) The thresholds differ significantly among five tourism functional areas.According to the response saturation threshold of the water environment,effective control based on the scale and intensity of tourist activities is important for a successful transformation of this tourism destination's development strategies.Therefore,the integrated management of water pollution in tourism areas plays a crucial role in sustainable tourism development.

Discussion of Construction of Hainan International Tourism Island and Psychological Health of Tourism Area Residents

In the ongoing construction of an international tourism island in Hainan, China, the research on the mental health of the residents in the tourism destination is one of the main contents of the research on tourism development. Tourism area is the cell of Hainan International Tourism Island. The mental health service of the residents in the tourism area is an important part of the health work construction of the international tourism island and the basic way to realize the health care for everyone. Nowadays, people’s demand for mental health services is far greater than the current supply. In view of the current situation of the limited mental health services provided, we put forward higher requirements and directions for the future development of mental health services in tourist areas. It is planned to carry out the first large-scale publicity and education on mental health of residents in Hainan tourism area in China, and evaluate the effect;carry out a large-scale investigation on mental health of residents in the tourism area, and carry out professional intervention and treatment for patients with mental diseases. Finally, the mental health service network and service institutions covering the tourism areas of Hainan Province were established to provide scientific support for the harmonious and healthy development of the international tourism island in Hainan Province.

Spatial morphology evolution of rural settlements induced by tourism： A comparative study of three villages in Yesanpo tourism area, China

Rural tourism has become an important driving force of rural urbanization in China. As the main reception base and important tourism attraction, tourism village is the core element of the tourism destination system. Integrating the method of PRA （Participatory Rural Assessment）, GIS technology and high-resolution remote sensing images, this study aims to analyze the spatial morphology evolution of rural settlements induced by tourism through a comparative study of three tourism villages in Yesanpo tourism area. The results suggest the emergence of a ＂core-periphery＂ pattern of the spatial evolution of rural settlements. The closer to the core scenic spot, the higher degree of land-use intensity the village shows, as well as the more mature tourism function and greater change in landscape pattern. In particular, Gougezhuang shows an increase of the floor area ratio from 0.17 to 0.44, with the most mature tourism function and the lowest authenticity index of 0.448. Liujiahe has gone through the largest increase in construction land area from 17.3564 ha to 34.1128 ha, with moderately mature tourism function and relatively stable authenticity index of 0.566. Shangzhuang has the lowest construction land scale and intensity, with the poorest tourism function and most well-preserved landscape authenticity index of 0.942. Overall, in terms of the spatial morphology, the three villages show the characteristics of ＂modern town＂, ＂semi-urbanization＂ and ＂traditional village＂ respectively, in corresponding to three land de- velopment types： ＂intensive reconstruction type＂, ＂enclave extension type＂ and ＂in situ utilization type＂. The spatial evolution patterns of these three villages imply the spatial characteristics of the touristization of traditional villages in different stages, and also have great representative value for the management of rural settlements in tourism areas in China.

Analysis and Empirical Study on the Tourism Attraction Factors of Scenic Areas

Modeling research and empirical study on the attraction of tourism destinations were conducted from 6 aspects,i.e.quality and scale of tourism resources,economic environment of tourism destinations,policy environment,accessibility,income level of tourist source areas as well as distance between tourist source area and tourism destination.

Research on Tourism Master Planning of Huangshan Hot Spring Scenic Area in China

Based on tourist resources' evaluation and tourism market development of Huangshan Hot Spring Scenic Area,by combining with relevant theories of "SWOT",the paper has identif ied the leading functional orientation and tourism development idea of the hot spring scenic area.Meanwhile,by following the principle of "sustainable use" of Huangshan natural resources,planning strategies and implementing suggestions have been put forward based on "addition,subtraction,multiplication and division".The ultimate purpose is to create diversified tourism experiences for tourists and improve tour quality of hot spring scenic area,and f inally build Huangshan tourism brand of "Snowy Hot Spring".

Study on the Tourism Facilities Construction in Agricultural Demonstration Zone——A Case Study of Southern Jiangsu Area

[Objective] To investigate and analyze the existing problems in the agricultural tourism facilities construction in southern Jiangsu area,and put forward the improvement measures so as to effectively promote the overall development of agricultural tourism and the construction of new rural area. [Method] Adopting questionnaire survey and analyzing the differences of tourism facilities. [Result] The overall satisfaction of tourists in tourism facilities is 47.2%,a basically satisfying level; the least satisfaction level is 31.8% in public sanitation facilities after the satisfaction in recreation and explanation facilities. [Conclusion] With experiencing the ecology and returning to the nature as characteristics,the construction of facilities should comply with the theme of agricultural tourism to demonstrate the characteristics of agriculture and the local area,and in the scale of planning,architectural style and subject selection also should follow this principle. Investigations about the tourists resources should be carried on,the construction and management of transportation,greening and public sanitation facilities should be proceeded effectively to attract tourists to stay or come again and to realize the sustainable development of agricultural tourism.

Eco-tourism: A New Approach of Ecological Rehabilitation and Out of Poverty Development in Wumeng Mountainous Area

The economic and social development status and the formation mechanism of "poverty trap" in Wumeng mountainous area were analyzed, the feasibility of developing eco-tourism to ecological restoration and rural poverty reduction was discussed, and some corresponding countermeasures were put forward.

Application of Harmony and Integrity Culture in Tourism Project Planning—A Case Study of Lumingling Scenic Area

Significance of tourism project planning in the transformation of tourism resources to tourist products was analyzed,it was proposed that culture is the soul of tourism project planning,harmony and integrity culture is the essence of Chinese cultures.Connotations and types of harmony and integrity culture were elaborated,such as harmony and integrity of human and nature,harmony and integrity of the society,harmony and integrity of the ego.On this basis,relationship between harmony and integrity and tourism projects was expounded,harmony and integrity culture was stressed as the source of tourism projects,and tourism projects as optimal carriers of demonstrating and inheriting harmony and integrity culture.Lumingling Scenic Area in south Jingxing County,Shijiazhuang City of Hebei Province was taken for an example to analyze the application of harmony and integrity culture in concrete planning of tourist projects from the perspectives of functional orientation,theme orientation and functional division.

Rural Tourism Development Theory and Practice of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rural Minority Areas of Sichuan Province,China——A Case Study of Kasidawen in Heishui County,Aba Prefecture of Sichuan

Researches on tourism development of intangible cultural heritage were introduced,and market gaps in the tourism development of intangible cultural heritage in ruralminority areas of China were proposed.On the basis of investigation and interview about Kasidawen in Heishui County the author participated in,a National-level Intangible Cultural Heritage,interview and questionnaire survey were adopted in this study,and the following problems were concluded:tourists having only limited knowledge about tourism development of Kasidawen;multilayered demands of tourist market;intangible cultural heritage of Sichuan Province as a whole is not widely-known because of insufficient publicity;tourists preferring tourism products that they participated in.Characteristics of intangible cultural heritage in Heishui County were summarized as strong national characteristics and unique cultural heritage,on the basis of which the "Kasidawen-based" Tourism Development Mode was proposed to change its present condition of "having only natural landscapes but no cultural connotation",and improve the cultural taste and level of tourism development in Heishui County,by arranging cultural functions and industries from the perspectives of both hardware and software facilities,and taking other types of resources as the supplement,useful theoretical references were given for rural tourism development of intangible cultural heritage inminority areas of China.

Space Pattern of Rural Leisure Tourism Development in Southwest Minority Area——A Case Study of Ethnic Minority Area in Southeast Chongqing

Study on the Sustainable Development of Tourism Industry in Gongga Mountainous Areas in Western Sichuan

There are abundant excellent tourism resources in Gongga mountainous areas (Mount Gongga, also known as Minya Konka, the highest mountain in Sichuan, China), yet the development thoughts and management modes in this region are far away from the advanced level in other mountainous areas in China or abroad due to the insufficient knowledge about ecotourism. Generally speaking, tourism development in Gongga mountainous areas are limited by various problems such as lack of overall development plan, system support, brand image, financial support and environmental protection consciousness. In view of the present situation of tourism development in this region, sustainable development measures are proposed on the basis of ecotourism and sustainable development theories, including making ecotourism development plan for Gongga mountainous areas, improving transportation conditions, tourism infrastructures and accommodation facilities, training service and management personnel with professional ecological knowledge; establishing ecotourism product system of Gongga mountainous areas; carrying out ecotourism management, innovating management system, setting up ecological monitoring system, implementing scientific functional division of tourism sites, constructing environment capacity control system and disasters management system of mountainous areas, improving medical and mountainous assistance system. Natural conditions and economic development of Gongga mountainous areas are similar to those in western China, it is expected to provide theoretical basis and practical experience for developing the vast mountainous areas in western China through studying the sustainable tourism development of Gongga mountainous areas.

SWOT Analysis of the Tourism Development in Dongping Lake Area of Shandong Province

Tourism Development Models Based on Ecological Utilization and Protection of Water Conservancy Scenic Areas

Preliminary Analysis of Special Tourism Transportation in Agricultural Eco-scenic Area

Transport varies greatly in agricultural eco-scenic areas for the diversity of resources, and different terrains such as mountains, low hills and forest lands. Special tourism transportation is common in scenic area of different themes. For agricultural eco-scenic area, the road design has to consider the theme of the scenic area, thus animal power is a favorable transportation choice, it refl ects agricultural ecological characteristics and also takes production needs into consideration. This paper analyzed road design characteristics of agricultural eco-scenic area, and proposed the transportation model dominated by animal power and considering farming production, so as to meet the standards of "rural road" in agricultural eco-scenic area and comply with the style of agricultural tourism, and satisfy the visitors.

A Study on Eco-Tourism and Sustainable Development of Economic Underdevelopment Areas—An Example from Kanas Nature Reserve, Xingjiang Province, Northwest China

Based on the assessment of eco-tourism resource and its location advantage, the paper has discussed the principle, projects, and facilities of eco-tourism, in the Kanas Nature Reserve in Xinjiang as well as the direction of related industries. To solve the problems occurred at present in the Kanas Nature Reserve, strategic counter measures of sustainable development of eco-tourism have also been put forward, including: 1) The establishment of eco-tourism planning legislative system of eco-tourism;2) The establishment of environmental protection planning system of eco-tourism;3) The establishment of environmental audit system of eco-tourism;4) The establishment environmental legislation and law enforcement system of eco-tourism;5) The establishment ethic education and management system of eco-tourism.

The Implication of TALC to Tourism Planning and Development in the Global South:Examples from Nigeria

Application of Tourist Area Life Cycle(TALC)in tourism destinations in the global south(i.e.,Nigeria)is limited despite its predictive values.This study evaluates ecotourism destinations in southeastern Nigeria using the TALC model and its implications to tourism planning and development.Focus Group Discussions(FGDs)and in-depth interviews were used in the study,and the results were discussed based on variables in the model.The results showed the following:“Instant resorts”were developed near lakes;limited development and stagnations,the uncertainty of destination growth,stages over-lap,among others were characteristics of tourism destinations in southeastern Nigeria due to socio-political landscape shaping tourism in Nigeria.Tourism destinations in the region fall between exploration and development stages;this is not unconnected to government“slapdash attitude”to tourism.Conversely,the status of these destinations offers the opportunity for community involvement for sustainability reasons.The qualitative means used to gauge tourism destinations’stages is novel and worthy of academic attention;it is invaluable where numeric data are missing.The study is suggestive of theoretical underpinning in tourism studies in developing nations.Keywords:Anambra,Butler,destination,ecotourism,Enugu,Tourism Area Life Cycle(TALC)
