The demand for electric vehicles has increased over the past few years.Wireless power transfer for electric vehicles provides more flexibility than traditional plug-in charging technology.Charging couplers are critical components in wireless power transfer systems.The thermal effect produced by the magnetic coupler in work will cause the temperature of the device to rise rapidly,affecting the work efficiency,transfer power,operation reliability,and service life.This paper modeled and analyzed each component's temperature distribution characteristics and thermal behavior.Firstly,the magnetic coupler's mutual inductance and magnetic circuit model are established,and the thermal model of the magnetic coupler analyzes the heat generation process.The thermal models of the coupler under three different magnetic core distributions are established,and the temperature rise of each component is obtained.The temperature rise of different parts of the coupler is verified by the temperature rise test structure of the experiment. 展开更多

This paper presents a four-plate undersea capacitive wireless power transfer(CPT)system for underwater applications such as autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs).Generally,a CPT system transfers the power based on electric fields.The complex resonant compensation networks are used to make the CPT system work in the resonant condition.The resonant voltage is always very high.It will be a big challenge to the human safety.In this paper,a virtual electrons periodic reciprocating flow theory is proposed for the CPT system.In one switching cycle,the electrons firstly flow in the forward direction through the forward path and then flow in the inverse direction through the inverse path.The CPT system has been deeply studied with the vacuum dielectric or the air dielectric.However,for the CPT system,there are few papers to show the underwater application.In this paper,an undersea four-plate CPT system is designed and studied in the underwater condition.The two coupling capacitors and other elements of the CPT system could build a closed-loop path.A small value inductor is adapted as a resonant compensation network for the four-plate CPT system.The DC voltage is inverted to the AC voltage in the primary side with the single-phase full-bridge inverter.The resonant voltage is rectified to the DC voltage in the secondary side with the single-phase full-bridge diode rectifier.A 100 W power level CPT system is constructed to verify the theory analysis and the calculation.The theory analysis is verified by the simulated and experimental results.The stable output voltage and load power are achieved in this paper. 展开更多

Magnetic radiation phenomena appear inevitably in the magnetic-resonance wireless power transfer (MR-WPT) system, and regarding this problem the magnetic-shielding scheme is applied to improve the electromagnetic performance in engineering. In this study, the shielding effectiveness of a two-coil MR-WPT system for different material shields is analyzed in theory using Moser's formula and Schelkunoff's formula. On this basis a candidate magnetic-shielding scheme with a double-layer structure is determined, which has better shielding effectiveness and coils coupling coefficient. Finally, some finite element simulation results validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis, and the shielding effectiveness with the double-layer shield in maximum is 30?dB larger than the one with the single-layer case. 展开更多

We focus on the study of the transferred image property in an electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT)system. In our experiment, a triple-peak image is effectively transferred trom a coupling beam to a signal beam based on the FIT effect. It is found that the transferred image intensity profile of the signal beam is the same as that of the coupling beam while not in phase. Furthermore, the propagation property of the transferred image is studied. Due to the narrowing effect, the transferred image keeps narrowing and maintains the shape well within a certain distance outside of the medium. Our experimental results are in excellent agreement with the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

Traditional magnetically coupled resonant wireless power transfer technology uses fixed distances between coils for research,to prevent fluctuations in the receiving voltage,and lead to reduce transmission efficiency.This paper proposes a closed-loop control wireless communication wireless power transfer system with a wearable four-coil structure to stabilize the receiving voltage fluctuation caused by changes in the displacement between the coils.Test results show that the system can provide stable receiving voltage,no matter how the distance between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil is changed.When the transmission distance is 20 mm,the power transfer efficiency of the system can reach 18.5%under the open-loop state,and the stimulus parameters such as the stimulation period and pulse width can be adjusted in real time through the personal computer terminal. 展开更多

We demonstrate a novel and stable frequency transfer scheme over ground-to-satellite link based on real-time carrier-phase detection and compensation.We performed a zero-baseline measurement with the designed system,an uninterrupted frequency standard signal is recovered in the reception station without additional post-correction of delay error caused in the route,which is because the phase error of the entire route is tracked and compensated continuously in real-time.To achieve this goal,we employed two carriers in the system and the differential signal is transferred in order to eliminate the instability results from the local oscillator at the satellite transponder as well as the common-mode noise induced in the transfer route and microwave components.The stability of 3×10^(-16) with an integration time of 1 day was achieved and the time fluctuation during one day was measured to be about±20 ps.Error sources and possible solutions are discussed.Our zero-baseline method shows a promising result for real-time satellite-based time and frequency transfer and deserves further research to find whether it works between long-baseline stations. 展开更多

Along with the prosperous of magnetic coupled inductive power transfer( MCIPT) technology which is widely used in industrial applications such as electric vehicle charging,the topology of double D coils( DD coils) with a spatial quadrature Q coil arises with great research interest. The Q coil, however, has been thoroughly studied by adding to the receiving side but seldom to the transmitting side. By using finite element simulation, this paper presents a preliminary study on the effectiveness of Q coil in the transmitting side,and its inner dimension is optimized for optimal compensating the misalignment between the transmitting and receiver sides. Simulation results show that the windings of the Q coil should be placed in the center of the aperture of the DD coils,and these results render a useful guidance for mechanical structural design and circuit controller design of MCIPT. 展开更多

The optimization method by adjusting load and distances between two adjacent coils( or resonators) is presented on basis of wireless power transfer( WPT) system with relay resonators. 2-port network and impedance matching theory are applied to analyzing power flow of incidence and reflection in WPT system,then setting up power flow model. The maximum power transmission efficiency can be obtained when the load and distance between secondary resonator and output coil meets impedance matching at 2-port network's output port. The simulation and experimental results shown the impedance matching method can effectively improve and maintain transmission efficiency by adjusting load and distances between coils or relay resonators. 展开更多

As different power has its own receivers,this paper analyzes and designs a multiple-receiver wireless power transfer(WPT)system systematically.The equivalent circuit model of the system is established to analyze the key parameters including transmitter power,receiver power,transmission efficiency,and each receiver power allocation.A control circuit is proposed to achieve the maximum transmission efficiency and transmitter power control and arbitrary receiver power allocation ratios for different receivers.Through the proposed control circuit,receivers with different loads can allocate appropriate power according to its power demand,the transmitter power and system efficiency do not vary with the change of the number of receivers.Finally,this control circuit is validated using a 130-kHz WPT system with three receivers whose power received is 3:10:12,and the overall system efficiency can reach as high as 55.5%. 展开更多

Implementing self-sustainable wireless communication systems is urgent and challenging for 5G and 6G technologies.In this paper,we elaborate on a system solution using the programmable metasurface(PMS)for simultaneous wireless information and power transfers(SWIPT),offering an optimized wireless energy management network.Both transmitting and receiving sides of the proposed solution are presented in detail.On the transmitting side,employing the wireless power transfer(WPT)technique,we present versatile power conveying strategies for near-field or far-field targets,single or multiple targets,and equal or unequal power targets.On the receiving side,utilizing the wireless energy harvesting(WEH)technique,we report our work on multi-functional rectifying metasurfaces that collect the wirelessly transmitted energy and the ambient energy.More importantly,a numerical model based on the plane-wave angular spectrum method is investigated to accurately calculate the radiation fields of PMS in the Fresnel and Fraunhofer regions.With this model,the efficiencies of WPT between the transmitter and the receiver are analyzed.Finally,future research directions are discussed,and integrated PMS for wireless information and wireless power is outlined. 展开更多

The Júcar-Vinalopó water transfer, considered as an historic aspiration for many years in the region, has been regarded as a key element for solving the depletion of groundwater in a large area located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, mainly for irrigation purposes. In this paper we present an approach to the economic aspects related to the implementation of the project, its investment and financing arrangements and the question of the subsequent management with the impact of the well-known “recovery cost principle', highlighting the current difficulties in carrying out projects of this size, due to severe limitations, as social and economic conditions of the transfer. 展开更多

Spiral printed circuit board (PCB) inductors are gaining attractions for wireless power transfer applications due to their various advantages over conventional inductors such as low-cost, batch fabrication, durability, manufacturability on flexible substrates, etc. In this work, design of a multi-spiral stacked solenoidal inductor for biomedical application in 13.56 MHz band is presented. Proposed stacking method enhances the inductance density of the inductor for a given area. This paper reports an optimization technique for design and implementation of the PCB inductors. The proposed scheme shows higher inductance and better figure-of-merit values compared to PCB inductors reported in literature, which are desirable for wireless power transfer system. 展开更多

In this paper,a novel pulse density modulation(PDM)with semi-bridgeless active rectifier(S-BAR)in inductive power transfer(IPT)system for rail vehicle is proposed.It is to reduce switching losses of the active rectifier in pickups.In the control method,the insulated-gate bipolar transistors(IGBTs)in the S-BAR are controlled by synchronous PDM signals,so that zero-voltage switching(ZVS)and zero-current switching(ZCS)can be achieved in the whole output power range.The output power is regulated by changing the pulse density(PD)of the S-BAR since the it is almost linear proportional with the PD in high quality factor of pickup side.The communication device between the primary side and pickup side is not necessary anymore.The detailed theoretical analyses of the PDM method are provided,and its advantages are shown in a 7.5kW IPT prototype for rail vehicle.The experimental results are presented to verify the analysis and demonstrate the performance.The overall efficiency of the system by PDM control is 74.2%which is improved by 4%compared with phase shift(PS)control at light load. 展开更多

In-site soil flushing and aeration are the typical synergetic remediation technology for contaminated sites.The surfactant present in flushing solutions is bound to affect the aeration efficiency.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of surfactant frequently used in soil flushing on the oxygen mass transfer in micro-nano-bubble(MNB)aeration system.Firstly,bio-surfactants and chemical surfactants were used to investigate their effects on Sauter mean diameter of bubble(dBS),gas holdup(ε),volumetric mass-transfer coefficient(kLa)and liquid-side mass-transfer coefficient(kL)in the MNB aeration system.Then,based upon the experimental results,the Sardeing's and Frossling's models were modified to describe the effect of surfactant on kL in the MNB aeration.The results showed that,for the twenty aqueous surfactant solutions,with the increase in surfactant concentration,the value of dBS,kLa and kL decreased,while the value ofεand gas-liquid interfacial area(a)increased.These phenomena were mainly attributed to the synergistic effects of immobile bubble surface and the suppression of coalescence in the surfactant solutions.In addition,with the presence of electric charge,MNBs in anionic surfactant solutions were smaller and higher in number than in non-ionic surfactant solutions.Furthermore,the accumulation of surfactant on the gas-liquid interface was more conspicuous for small MNB,so the reduction of kL in anionic surfactant solutions was larger than that in non-ionic surfactant solutions.Besides,the modified Frossling's model predicted the effect of surfactant on kL in MNB aeration system with reasonable accuracy. 展开更多

Recently,the coronavirus disease 2019 has shown excellent attention in the global community regarding health and the economy.World Health Organization(WHO)and many others advised controlling Corona Virus Disease in 2019.The limited treatment resources,medical resources,and unawareness of immunity is an essential horizon to unfold.Among all resources,wearing a mask is the primary non-pharmaceutical intervention to stop the spreading of the virus caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)droplets.All countries made masks mandatory to prevent infection.For such enforcement,automatic and effective face detection systems are crucial.This study presents a face mask identification approach for static photos and real-time movies that distinguishes between images with and without masks.To contribute to society,we worked on mask detection of an individual to adhere to the rule and provide awareness to the public or organization.The paper aims to get detection accuracy using transfer learning from Residual Neural Network 50(ResNet-50)architecture and works on detection localization.The experiment is tested with other popular pre-trained models such as Deep Convolutional Neural Networks(AlexNet),Residual Neural Networks(ResNet),and Visual Geometry Group Networks(VGG-Net)advanced architecture.The proposed system generates an accuracy of 98.4%when modeled using Residual Neural Network 50(ResNet-50).Also,the precision and recall values are proved as better when compared to the existing models.This outstanding work also can be used in video surveillance applications. 展开更多

The nonreciprocity of energy transfer is constructed in a nonlinear asymmetric oscillator system that comprises two nonlinear oscillators with different parameters placed between two identical linear oscillators.The slow-flow equation of the system is derived by the complexification-averaging method.The semi-analytical solutions to this equation are obtained by the least squares method,which are compared with the numerical solutions obtained by the Runge-Kutta method.The distribution of the average energy in the system is studied under periodic and chaotic vibration states,and the energy transfer along two opposite directions is compared.The effect of the excitation amplitude on the nonreciprocity of the system producing the periodic responses is analyzed,where a three-stage energy transfer phenomenon is observed.In the first stage,the energy transfer along the two opposite directions is approximately equal,whereas in the second stage,the asymmetric energy transfer is observed.The energy transfer is also asymmetric in the third stage,but the direction is reversed compared with the second stage.Moreover,the excitation amplitude for exciting the bifurcation also shows an asymmetric characteristic.Chaotic vibrations are generated around the resonant frequency,irrespective of which linear oscillator is excited.The excitation threshold of these chaotic vibrations is dependent on the linear oscillator that is being excited.In addition,the difference between the energy transfer in the two opposite directions is used to further analyze the nonreciprocity in the system.The results show that the nonreciprocity significantly depends on the excitation frequency and the excitation amplitude. 展开更多

Mutations in mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)are maternally inherited and have the potential to cause severe disorders.Mitochondrial replacement therapies,including spindle,polar body,and pronuclear transfers,are promising strategies for preventing the hereditary transmission of mtDNA diseases.While pronuclear transfer has been used to generate mitochondrial replacement mouse models and human embryos,its application in non-human primates has not been previously reported.In this study,we successfully generated four healthy cynomolgus monkeys(Macaca fascicularis)via female pronuclear transfer.These individuals all survived for more than two years and exhibited minimal mtDNA carryover(3.8%–6.7%),as well as relatively stable mtDNA heteroplasmy dynamics during development.The successful establishment of this nonhuman primate model highlights the considerable potential of pronuclear transfer in reducing the risk of inherited mtDNA diseases and provides a valuable preclinical research model for advancing mitochondrial replacement therapies in humans. 展开更多

To determine the potential impacts of exogenous nitrogen(N)enrichment on distribution and transfer of N in Suaeda salsa marsh in the Yellow River Estuary,the variations of N in plant-soil system during the growing season were investigated by field N addition experiment.The experiment included four treatments:NN(no N input treatment,0gNm^(−2) yr^(−1)),LN(low N input treatment,3.0 gNm^(−2) yr^(−1)),MN(medium N input treatment,6 gNm^(−2) yr^(−1))and HN(high N input treatment,12 gNm^(−2) yr^(−1)).Results showed that N additions generally increased the contents of total nitrogen(TN),ammonia nitrogen(NH_(4)^(+)-N)and nitrate nitrogen(NO_(3)^(−)-N)in different soil layers and the increasing trend was particularly evident in topsoil.Compared with the NN treatment,the average contents of TN in topsoil in the LN,MN and HN treatments during the growing season increased by 10.85%,30.14%and 43.98%,the mean contents of NH_(4)^(+)-N increased by 8.56%,6.96%and 14.34%,and the average contents of NO_(3)^(−)-N increased by 35.73%,45.99%and 46.66%,respectively.Although exogenous N import did not alter the temporal variation patterns of TN contents in organs,the N transfer and accumulation differed among tissues in different treatments.With increasing N import,both the N stocks in soil and plant showed increasing trend and the values in N addition treatments increased by 9.43%–38.22%and 13.40%–62.20%,respectively.It was worth noting that,compared with other treatments,the S.salsa in the MN treatments was very likely to have special response to N enrichment since not only the period of peak growth was prolonged by about 20 days but also the maximum of TN content in leaves was advanced by approximately one month.This paper found that,as N loading reached MN level in future,the growth rhythm of S.salsa and the accumulation and transference of N in its tissues would be altered significantly,which might generate great impact on the stability and health of S.salsa marsh ecosystem. 展开更多

We propose a scheme for realizing high-fidelity topological state transfer via the topological edge states in a onedimensional cavity-magnon system.It is found that the cavity-magnon system can be mapped analytically into the generalized Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model with tunable cavity-magnon coupling.It is shown that the edge state can be served as a quantum channel to realize the photonic and magnonic state transfers by adjusting the coupling strength between adjacent cavity modes.Further,our scheme can realize the quantum state transfer between photonic state and magnonic state by changing the cavity-magnon coupling strength.With the numerical simulation,we quantitatively show that the photonic,magnonic and magnon-to-photon state transfers can be achieved with high fidelity in the cavity-magnon system.Spectacularly,three different types of quantum state transfer schemes can be even transformed into each other in a controllable fashion.The Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model based on the cavity-magnon system provides us a tunable platform to engineer the transport of photon and magnon,which may have potential applications in topological quantum processing. 展开更多
