The wound mechanism, injury characteristics and treatment principles of anti-armored vehicle ammunition against armored crew in the past 20 years are summarized in this paper.Shock vibration, metal jet, depleted uranium aerosol and post armor breaking effect are the main factors for wounding armored crew.Their prominent characteristics are severe injury, high incidence of bone fracture, high rate of depleted uranium injury, and high incidence of multiple/combined injuries.During the treatment, attention must be paid on that the space of armored vehicle is limited, and the casualties should be moved outside of the cabin for comprehensive treatment.Especially, the management of depleted uranium injury and burn/inhalation injury are more important than other injuries for the armored wounds. 展开更多

As the novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and its variants continue to rage into the second year of a global pandemic, many success stories of applying Chinese herbal medicine(CHM)to treat COVID-19 patients continue to emerge from China and other part of the world.Herewith, from a systems medicine perspective, the authors analyze those experiences and categorize them into four major treatment principles:(1)focusing on eliminating toxins in the early stage of the disease,(2)tonifying deficiency of the body throughout the entire disease course,(3)treating the affected lung and intestine simultaneously based on visceral interactions,(4)cooling blood and removing blood stasis at the later stage,as well as interpret the rationale of these principles. This is helpful not only in reducing the complexity of promoting the CHM applications to enhance anti-COVID-19 efficacy, but also in ramping out the process of integrating traditional Chinese medicine with modern medical practices. 展开更多

Objective:The objective of this study is to explore the treatment and compatibility principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Materials and Methods:Syndrome differentiation is used to identify the etiology, nature, and location of a disease and the relationship between the healthy Qi and pathogenic factors by analyzing and synthesizing the four diagnostics data. The theory of treatment is to determine the principle and methods of treatment according to the results of syndrome differentiation and implement them as a specific prescription. This paper bears witness to the principle universality by analysis of the articles of the Banxia Xiexin Decoction, and it equally has analogical prescriptions in Treatise on Febrile Diseases. Results:The treatment and compatibility principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine are the same, that is,rectifying the deviation on three dimensions, strengthening the healthy Qi,and eliminating pathogenic factors in the light of its general trend. Conclusion:The treatment and compatibility principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine are the same,The treatment and compatibility principles provide a new thinking for clinical treatment. 展开更多

Objective: To investigate the effects of Chinese herbal monomer shikonin which has the function of cooling blood and detoxification on abnormally activated T lymphocyte and its related signal pathways and to elucidate the role of shikonin in the pathological state of psoriasis and its mechanism of treating psoriasis. Materials and Methods: Jurkat E6?1 T lymphocytes were activated with phorbol ester and ionomycin. The shikonin concentration of 0.5–2 μg/mL was applied to the cells, and the proliferation of T lymphocytes was detected by Cell Counting Kit?8 assay. Flow cytometry was used to measure CD69 expression on the cell membrane and intracellular free calcium ion concentration([Ca^(2+)]i); enzyme?linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the levels of interleukin(IL)?2, interferon?γ(IFN?γ), and(TNF?α) released by activated T lymphocytes; quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to observe the expression of nuclear transcription factor m RNA and protein, respectively. Results: Different concentrations of shikonin could significantly inhibit cell proliferation, CD69 expression, and secretion of Th1 cytokines. In addition, shikonin could effectively reduce the [Ca^(2+)]i and protein kinase C phosphorylation proteins. Besides that, shikonin could significantly reduce the nuclear transcription factor nuclear factor of activated T lymphocytes mRNA expression, downregulate c?Jun mRNA and protein expression, and inhibit NF?κB protein expression. All the above indicators show a certain dose–effect relationship. Conclusions: Shikonin can exert immune regulation by inhibiting the function of overactivated T lymphocytes. Hence, this study provides experimental basis for the mechanism and application prospect of shikonin in the treatment of psoriasis. 展开更多
