Crack detection of the cantilever beam using new triple hybrid algorithms based on Particle Swarm Optimization

The presence of cracks in a concrete structure reduces its performance and increases in the size of cracks result in the failure of the structure.Therefore,the accurate determination of crack characteristics,such as location and depth,is one of the key engineering issues for assessment of the reliability of structures.This paper deals with the inverse analysis of the crack detection problems using triple hybrid algorithms based on Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO);these hybrids are Particle Swarm Optimization-Genetic Algorithm-Firefly Algorithm(PSO-GA-FA),Particle Swarm Optimization-Grey Wolf Optimization-Firefly Algorithm(PSO-GWO-FA),and Particle Swarm Optimization-Genetic Algorithm-Grey Wolf Optimization(PSO-GA-GWO).A strong correlation exists between the changes in the natural frequency of a concrete beam and the crack parameters.Thus,the location and depth of a crack in a beam can be predicted by measuring its natural frequency.Hence,the measured natural frequency can be used as the input parameter of the algorithm.In this paper,this is applied to identify crack location and depth in a cantilever beam using the new hybrid algorithms.The results show that among the proposed triple hybrid algorithms,the PSO-GA-FA and PSO-GWO-FA algorithms are much more effective than PSO-GA-GWO algorithm for the crack detection. 展开更多

Perovskite-type mixed protonic-electronic conducting membranes have attracted attention because of their ability to separate and purify hydrogen from a mixture of gases generated by industrial-scale steam reforming based on an ion diffusion mechanism.Exploring cost-effective membrane materials that can achieve both high H_(2) permeability and strong CO_(2)-tolerant chemical stability has been a major challenge for industrial applications.Herein,we constructed a triple phase(ceramic-metal-ceramic)membrane composed of a perovskite ceramic phase BaZr_(0.1)Ce_(0.7)Y_(0.1)Yb_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(BZCYYb),Ni metal phase and a fluorite ceramic phase CeO_(2).Under H_(2) atmosphere,Ni metal in-situ exsolved from the oxide grains,and decorated the grain surface and boundary,thus the electronic conductivity and hydrogen separation performance can be promoted.The BZCYYbNi-CeO_(2)hybrid membrane achieved an exceptional hydrogen separation performance of 0.53 mL min^(-1)cm^(-2) at 800℃ under a 10 vol% H_(2) atmosphere,surpassing all other perovskite membranes reported to date.Furthermore,the CeO_(2) phase incorporated into the BZCYYb-Ni effectively improved the CO_(2)-tolerant chemical stability.The BZCYYbNi-CeO_(2) membrane exhibited outstanding long-term stability for at least 80 h at 700℃ under 10 vol%CO_(2)-10 vol%H_(2).The success of hybrid membrane construction creates a new direction for simultaneously improving their hydrogen separation performance and CO_(2) resistance stability. 展开更多

Improved delayed detached-eddy simulation of massive separation around triple cylinders 被引量:3

The massively separated flow past triple cylin- ders (TriC) in tandem arrangement is simulated using the improved delayed detached-eddy simulation (IDDES) method based on the shear stress transport (SST) model, coupled with the high order adaptive dissipation scheme. The spacing between adjacent cylinders is sub-critical (1.435D). IDDES prediction of two cylinders (TC) with the same spacing is compared to experimental data for validation, and the numerical results agree well with the available measurements, except for the asymmetry in the gap region. The flow past TriC is investigated using the same method. Generally, the mean flow quantities past TriC, such as the velocity, pressure, and vorticity, are similar to the corresponding components of TC. However, the pressure fluctuations on the TriC surface are uniformly larger than those on TC. Meanwhile, the instantaneous flows past TriC are much more complex. The periodical blockage in the first gap region is found in the TriC case and leads to the up-and-down movement of shear layer in the second gap region. 展开更多
