A water-soluble polymeric UV-absorber with polyvinylamine as backbone and benzotriazole type UV absorber as anti-UV functional group was synthesized by grafting brominated(2'-acetoxy-5'-methylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazole onto polyvinylamine. The intermediates and synthesized polymeric UV absorber were characterized by ~1H NMR,MS,IR and UV spectroscopy.The finishing properties of the polymeric UV absorber on cotton were investigated to show good UV protection property and wash fastness. 展开更多

The UVAC value in vegetative (36. 78 mg/g) and reproductive (29.25 mg/g) parts of female thallus is higher than their counterparts in male thallus (34.68 mg/g and 20.46 mg/g). The effects of different types of ultraviolet(UV)radiation(UVR,wavelength=280-400 nm)and light intensities on cell growth,pigment composition,UV-absorbing compounds(UVACs),and chlorophyll a(Chl a)fluorescence were studied in dinoflag-ellate Prorocentrum lima cultured outdoors for 16 days and indoors for 18 days.In the outdoor experiment,UVA radiation(320-400 nm)increased the growth rate of this dinoflagellate when solar light intensities were<12%;decreased growth rates were observed when intensities were>12%.Exposure to UVB radiation(280-320 nm)alleviated the negative effects of UVA.In the indoor ex-periment,UVA and low doses of UVB enhanced growth rates.Addition of low doses of UVB to UVA exposure resulted in higher contents of Chl a and photoprotective pigments compared with UVA exposure only.The results of both experiments showed that UVB is the primary signal of UVAC synthesis.High-dose UVB exposure accelerated growth rates when UVAC contents were maintained at high levels,suggesting that the latter plays a key role in UVR damage protection.Furthermore,the repair rate was en-hanced by UVB exposure after 16 days of culture.This study confirms the positive effects of UVA and UVB on the growth of P.lima,with the latter enhancing the photoprotective and recovery pathways of the species. 展开更多

A new s-triazine derivative modified graphene composite, in which 2,4,6-tri(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,3,5- triazine (TDTA) was attached onto reduced graphene oxide (rGO) via the noncovalent functionalization approach, named TDTA/rGO, was reported. And the TDTA was synthesized via a Friedel-Crafts reaction. FTIR and NMR spectroscopic characterizations were carried out to confirm the synthesis of TDTA. UV-Vis, XPS and TEM revealed that TDTA molecules were successfully loaded onto graphene sheets by π-π stacking, and the composite is found to improve greatly the dispersity ofrGO in DMF and to be a good UV-absorber. 展开更多

Herein, excellent UV-absorbing poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) membranes were fabricated through the pre-irradiation induced graft polymerization method. The PVDF chains irradiated with ^(60)Co γ-ray were modified with the polymerizable UV absorber 2-[2-hydroxy-5-[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]phenyl]-2 H-benzotriazole(RUVA-93). The influences of irradiation dose and monomer concentration on the prepared PVDF-g-PRUVA-93 membranes were investigated, and the optimal condition was eventually obtained. The chemical structures of the films were studied by ~1H-NMR, FTIR, and XRD. UV light transmittance and DSC tests were used to characterize the UV-absorbing performance and thermal property of the PVDF films before and after modification. The results proved that the PRUVA-93 side chains were successfully incorporated into the PVDF main chains and the obtained PVDF-g-PRUVA-93 films possessed remarkable UV-absorbing property. The modified membrane made under the optimized experiment condition could completely block the UV light in the range of 200-387 nm. Additionally, the transmittance of the PVDF-g-PRUVA-93 film could be reduced to0.04% in 280-320 nm, where the light irradiation could damage polymer materials most seriously. 展开更多
