In order to better understand the challenges and considerations associated with the new, constantly changing media ecology, a more holistic worldview must be catapulted to the forefront of the collective discussion. To that effect, the following essay examines the open source software movement from the philosophical perspective of Tibetan Buddhism. Using the principles of interconnectedness, impermanence, and the illusory nature of self and reality, all fundamental elements of Buddhist philosophy, this discussion provides a renewed framework for exploring the ethical implications of open sourcing. Ecological security defined as the creation of a condition where the physical surroundings of a community provide for the needs of its inhabitants without diminishing its natural stock,which is important for regional ...Ecological security defined as the creation of a condition where the physical surroundings of a community provide for the needs of its inhabitants without diminishing its natural stock,which is important for regional security and social stability.In recent years,land use patterns in the Changbai Mountain region have changed significantly with intensive human activities,and consequently led to increasing problems in regional ecological security.Based on the Pressure-State-Impact-Response(PSIR) model and the mathematical method of catastrophe progression supported by geographical information system(GIS),the ecological security situation of the study area under land use and cover change(LUCC) was evaluated.The results indicated that the ecological security in Changbai Mountain region varied nonlinearly,which got better from 1990 to 2000 but became worse from 2000 to 2007,the ecological security levels in Changbai Mountain region were mainly medium and medium to low during the past 17 years,with higher values of Ecological Security Index(ESI) in the central region and lower values in the east and west,the ecological security situation was more serious in the settlements and river valleys,where the LUCC was most remarkable.展开更多

Due to the information asymmetry and imperfect supervision system,the problem of information service quality of e-commerce platforms is becoming increasingly prominent.Based on the perspective of information ecology,t...Due to the information asymmetry and imperfect supervision system,the problem of information service quality of e-commerce platforms is becoming increasingly prominent.Based on the perspective of information ecology,this paper constructs a three-party evolutionary game model including merchants,e-commerce platforms and governments,and analyzes the dynamic process of the threeparty game under bounded rationality,thereby characterizing the behavior and optimal strategies of information service quality control.We carry out numerical simulation using data of the Pinduoduo platform.The results show that the cost of each party,control strength of e-commerce platforms,proportion of margin deducted and other factors are important factors affecting the quality of information service;Only when the sum of the costs of passive management of e-commerce platforms,penalties for merchants,and the additional revenue generated from the active management exceeds the cost of the active management of the e-commerce platforms,it ensures effective control over the quality of information service in a stable market environment.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to optimize the e-commerce information service quality control.展开更多

Accordingly, the paper adopts geospatial information systems and sustainability principles for the identification and sequential mapping of stressors impeding natural systems in Southern Mississippi. The results not only reveal that the study area experienced some significant changes in its watershed environments, but the stream habitat ecosystem remains under stress. This study introduces a Landscape Information Modeling±Stable Diffusion(LIM±SD)-based digital workflow for ecological engineered landscaping(EEL)design,focusing on urban river wetlands.It explores how studen...This study introduces a Landscape Information Modeling±Stable Diffusion(LIM±SD)-based digital workflow for ecological engineered landscaping(EEL)design,focusing on urban river wetlands.It explores how students from diverse academic backgrounds perform EEL tasks using the LIM±SD approach.A total of 30 participants,including industrial design postgraduates and landscape architecture undergraduates and postgraduates,completed the design tasks.The efficacy of their designs was assessed through expert evaluations on site appropriateness,aesthetics,spatial layout,and eco-engineering techniques of the design proposals,as well as the parametric simulation which calculated the vegetation coverage rate and proportion of riparian areas for each design.Moreover,evaluation of participants’subjective design experiences was conducted via questionnaires.Results indicated that landscape architecture postgraduates outperformed others applying ecological engineering principles.The study also elucidated discrepancies between LIM models and SD-generated renderings,as well as the uncertainty of SDgenerated renderings,suggesting improvements are needed to align digital outputs with ecological design criteria.展开更多

The r...This study aimed to design a new ecological model to be used in ecological land evaluation studies, using careful planning and sustainable resource in the region to develop a sustainable and comprehensive guide. The results show that the study area has grade 1 and 2 urban sustainable planning. Capability Grade 1 has area 149,724.25 hectares equal 22.2% that is stretched from East to West Range. Capability Grade2 has area about 18533.28 hectares equal 2.7% that located in the South, East and South-East. The results show that the greater extent of this range is the unsustainable site, which extends over 506,664.81 hectares, equivalent to 75.1% that areas compliance by the Environmental Protection area. Another important result of this study is unsuitable area for urban development and the range of services already seating workshops and industrial units. This is due to the arrival of adverse environmental effects. Therefore, this study has been focusing on reform of the status of land of use and the optimal use of the ecological potential.展开更多

Potato is one of the important food crops in Shangnan County,Shaanxi Province.Potato planting strategy in this region has great significance for potato planting,according to local conditions and for optimizing regiona...Potato is one of the important food crops in Shangnan County,Shaanxi Province.Potato planting strategy in this region has great significance for potato planting,according to local conditions and for optimizing regional layout.The ecological suitability of potato cultivation in Shangnan County was evaluated by using geographic information system(GIS)technology,county cultivated land resource management information system and analytic hierarchy process(AHP).The evaluation index system of ecological suitability of potatoes in Shangnan County was established by screening the evaluation index of each ecological factor with expert experience method.The AHP and fuzzy evaluation method were applied to the quantitative calculation of the weight of each index.The ecological suitability assessment map of potato planting in Shangnan County was obtained by using the overlay analysis function of ArcGIS 10.2.The results showed that highly suitable area for potato cultivation was 6974.04 hm^2,accounting for 28.07%of the cultivated land.The suitable area was 11205.75 hm^2,accounting for 45.10%of the cultivated land area.These two types of arable land mainly distributed in the shallow hilly area,the middle mountain landform and the river valley area.The remaining arable land in this region mainly distributed in the shallow hills and the mid-mountain landscapes,including the arable land which was reluctantly suitable for potato cultivation and unsuitable for potato cultivation,with 5646.15 and 1022.33 hm^2,respectively,accounting for only 22.72%and 4.11%of the total arable land areas.Therefore,based on the statistics and analyses of potato planting environment in Shangnan County,the pattern of local ecological adaptability distribution was summarized and the spatial distribution map was drawn,thus providing scientific basis for rational distribution and planning of potato in Shangnan County.展开更多
Due to the complexity of sustainable urban research,the environmental sustainability was assessed.Taking the sponge city as an example,the case study was conducted based on the integrated geographic information system...Due to the complexity of sustainable urban research,the environmental sustainability was assessed.Taking the sponge city as an example,the case study was conducted based on the integrated geographic information system(GIS)and emergy methods.The results demonstrate that the emergy of agricultural crops,major industrial products,comprehensive energy products,imports and exports,waste products and increased natural system emergy are the decisive factors for the sustainability assessment.Agricultural crops are the primary contributor,which accounts for 48.9%of the total emergy amount.Urban solid waste has a self-evident superiority in the waste products emergy proportion.Surface water and vegetal biomass emergy possess the pivotal consequences,far higher than soil organic matter.The sewage treatment stations(0.11%)play a small role in the sustainability assessment of the sponge city.The emergy sustainability index is 0.02181,which indicates poor environmental sustainability.According to the study results,increasing renewable energy input proportion and adopting the vegetal biomass of high unit emergy values(UEVs)can improve the sustainability level.展开更多
