It is located at the northeastern edge of Tibetan Plateau and crosses eastern A'nyemaqên suture zo...Barkam-Luqu-Gulang deep seismic sounding profile runs from north of Sichuan Province to south of Gansu Province. It is located at the northeastern edge of Tibetan Plateau and crosses eastern A'nyemaqên suture zone. The upper crust structures around eastern A'nyemaqên suture zone and its adjacent area are reconstructed based on the arrival times of refracted Pg and Sg waves by using finite difference method, ray tracing inversion, time-term method and travel-time curve analysis. The results show that the depth variation of basement along profile is very strong as indicated by Pg and Sg waves. The basement rose in Zoigê basin and depressed in eastern A'nyemaqên suture zone, and it gradually rose again northward and then depressed. The results also indicate that eastern A'nyemaqên suture zone behaves as inhomogeneous low velocity structures in the upper crust and is inclined to- ward the south. Hoh Sai Hu-Maqên fault, Wudu-Diebu fault and Zhouqu-Liangdang fault are characterized by low velocity distributions with various scales. The distinct variation in basement depth occurred near Hoh Sai Hu-Maqên fault and Zhouqu-Liangdang fault, which are main tectonic boundaries of A'nyemaqên suture zone. Wudu-Diebu fault, located at the depth variation zone of the basement, possibly has the same deep tectonic background with Zhouqu-Liangdang fault. The strongly depressed basement characterized by low velocity distribution and lateral inhomogeneity in A'nyemaqên suture zone implies crushed zone features under pinching action.展开更多
The Clarion-Clipperton Zone(CCZ)hosts one of the largest known oceanic nodule fields worldwide and is regulated by the International Seabed Authority.A baseline assessment of diversity and distribution patterns is ess...The Clarion-Clipperton Zone(CCZ)hosts one of the largest known oceanic nodule fields worldwide and is regulated by the International Seabed Authority.A baseline assessment of diversity and distribution patterns is essential for reliable predictions of disturbed ecosystem response scenarios for sustained commercial activities in the future.In the present study,the spatial patterns and diversity of phytoplankton communities were analyzed along with upper ocean biogeochemistry,in the licensed China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association(COMRA)contract area and the surrounding western CCZ between August 21 and October 8,2017.Results indicated this was a typical low-nutrient low-chlorophyll a(Chl a)environment,characterized by low levels of phytoplankton abundance and diversity.In total 112 species belonging to 4 phyla were recorded(>10μm),with species counts including 82 diatoms,27 dinoflagellates,1 cyanobacteria and 2 chrysophyte.Dominant taxa in successive order of descending abundance and occurrence included Nizschia marina,Cyclotella stylorum,Dactyliosolen mediterraneus,Rhizosolenia setigera,Pseudo-nitzschia delicatissima,Thalassiothrix frauenfeldii,Synedra sp.,Chaetoceros simplex and Pseudo-nitzschia circumpora.The depth-averaged abundance and Chl a concentrations were(265±233)cells/L and(0.27±0.30)μg/L,respectively.Diatoms accounted for 90.94%of the community with(241±223)cells/L,while dinoflagellates accounted for 5.67%and(15±13)cells/L.The distribution pattern exhibited the same trend as abundance,Chl a and species richness,showing subsurface maximum levels at around 100 m,with stations near 10°N having higher levels than in the north.Cluster analysis was performed in two assemblages,relating to geographic locations to the south and north of 12°N.The subsurface maximum of abundance,Chl a,species richness,dissolved oxygen and nitrite were generally corresponding to the presence of high salinity North Pacific Central Water at depths of 50-120 m.Higher availability of nitrate,phosphate and silicic acid in the subsurface may account for the shift in phytoplankton distribution,as shown by redundancy correspondence and spearman correlation analysis.Diel variation in an anchor station demonstrated prominent species succession without significant differences in oceanographic variables,among which diatoms succession resulted from the light limitation,while dinoflagellate diel variation mainly related to lateral transport of water masses.The observed patchiness in spatial phytoplankton distributional patterns was attributed to upper ocean environmental gradients in the CCZ.The baseline generated in this study could be analyzed using current conservation strategy programs associated with deep-sea mining.展开更多
CaCO_(3)is an important component of marine sediments and one of the major deep-carbon carriers at subduction zones.Some subducted CaCO_(3)can be dissolved in subduction fluids and recycled back to the surface via arc...CaCO_(3)is an important component of marine sediments and one of the major deep-carbon carriers at subduction zones.Some subducted CaCO_(3)can be dissolved in subduction fluids and recycled back to the surface via arc volcanoes degassing.At the same time,there still remain large amounts of CaCO_(3)and its reaction products,which could be further transported into Earth's deep interior.These internal processes link atmosphere,hydrosphere and biosphere with the deep solid Earth,modifying the environments of our planet.In this review,we summarize current understanding from high pressure-temperature experiments and field petrological observations on the physical and chemical properties of CaCO_(3).In particular,the phase stability and reactions of CaCO_(3)largely control the migration and reservation of oxidized carbon in subducting slabs.Finally,we present several critical but unsolved questions on CaCO_(3)subducting in the deep mantle.展开更多

The optimal FZL was determined theoretically based on a mathematical model established by upper bound method, and accepted Pb-GF wire was actually obtained experimentally by symmetric side-feed extrusion at a much lower temperature than that published before. The wire has features of fine grains, uniform diameter, good coaxiality and satisfied mechanical property. The results and conclusions obtained in the research can be used to design the forming tools for lead-clad glass fiber extrusion and have significance to further research on the extrusion of other complex wires of metal-clad brittle core.展开更多
Data on Late Cenomanian and Early Turonian foraminiferal assemblages in the northern palaeo biogeographical district of the West Siberian province are summarized in the paper. In addition, the section of borehole 1016...Data on Late Cenomanian and Early Turonian foraminiferal assemblages in the northern palaeo biogeographical district of the West Siberian province are summarized in the paper. In addition, the section of borehole 1016 of the Parusovaya area located in the far north of the province is considered. New information on the foraminiferal zones of this stratigraphic level along with the previously known sections of the Tazovskaya, Purpeiskaya, Van-Eganskaya areas provided an opportunity to carry out a correlation of these zones between the West Siberian and the Canadian provinces (Western Canada, Northern Alaska). The West Siberian Late Cenomanian Trochammina wetteri tumida, Verneuilinoides kansasensis and the Early Turonian Gaudryinopsis angustus foraminiferal zones have their analogues as similar zones in the Canadian province. Due to the provided correlation of the micropalaeontological (foraminiferal) zones, their age in the West Siberian province has been clarified. Besides, similarity of the conditions of dwelling within the boundaries of the entire Arctic palaeobiogeographical realm has been observed.展开更多

The result shows the crust-mantle structure are obvious difference at both sides of the North Tanlu fault zone. The fault activity and segmentation are closely related with abruptly change zone of the crust-upper mantle structure. There is a clear mirror image relationship between the big geomorphic shape and asthenosphere undulate, the former restricts tectonic stability and tectonic style of dif- ferent crustal units. The significantly strengthening seismicity of north set and south set in the North Tanlu fault zone just correspond to the low-velocity and high conductivity layer of crust-upper mantle. In the North Tanlu fault zone, the main controlling structure of the mid-strong seismic generally consists of the active fault sectors, whose crust-mantle structure is more complicated in rigidity massif.展开更多
