Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of primary method root canal treatment(ORCT)and multiple root canal treatment(MRCT)for dental cryptocleidosis with endodontic lesions.Methods:88 patients with fissured teeth with endodontic lesions who were admitted to the hospital between November 2021 and November 2023 were selected, and after randomized numerical table grouping,44 cases in the experimental group were included in the ORCT treatment, and 44 cases in the reference group were included in the MRCT treatment, and the total effective rate, root canal filling rate, visual analog scale(VAS)score, periodontal indexes, and the complication rate were compared. Results:The total effective rate and root canal filling rate of the experimental group were higher than that of the reference group;after treatment, the VAS score of the experimental group was lower than that of the reference group, and the periodontal indexes were lower than that of the reference group;and the complication rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:ORCT can improve the overall efficacy of patients with fissured teeth with endodontic lesions, ensure the filling rate of root canals, significantly reduce pain symptoms, improve a number of periodontal indicators, have high endodontic safety, and have more therapeutic advantages than MRCT. 展开更多

Objective: With the aging population and changes in lifestyle, lumbar spinal stenosis has become a common spinal disorder. Treatment modalities have been advancing, and the application of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) principles provides a new approach to postoperative recovery in patients. This study aims to investigate the clinical application effects of ERAS principles in single-level lumbar spinal stenosis surgery. Methods: This study included 64 patients who underwent lumbar fusion surgery in the Spinal Surgery Department of Baise People’s Hospital from July 2022 to July 2024. These patients were divided into an experimental group (ERAS group, 33 cases) and a control group (conventional group, 31 cases) based on perioperative care, receiving ERAS principles and traditional treatment, respectively. A comparison was made between the two groups in terms of gender, age, BMI, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, hospital costs, VAS scores (preoperative/postoperative day 3), and ODI scores (preoperative/postoperative day 3). Results: There were no significant differences in gender, age, and BMI between the ERAS group and the conventional group (gender: χ2 = 0.5008, P = 0.4792;age: 54.55 ± 8.51 years vs. 57.39 ± 8.16 years, P = 0.0892;BMI: 25.11 ± 2.70 vs. 24.77 ± 2.75, P = 0.3098). However, during surgery, patients in the ERAS group had significantly less blood loss than those in the conventional group (197.58 ± 195.51ml vs. 438.71 ± 349.22 ml, P = 0.0006), and the postoperative length of hospital stay was significantly shorter (7.00 ± 2.24 days vs. 11.55 ± 5.23 days, P = 0.0000). On postoperative day 3, VAS scores were significantly better in the ERAS group compared to the conventional group (3.70 ± 0.88 vs. 4.32 ± 0.87, P = 0.0031), and the ODI scores showed significant improvement as well (46.00 ± 3.04 vs. 48.00 ± 3.39, P = 0.0078). Although there were no significant differences in postoperative complications and hospital costs (complications: 3 cases vs. 0 cases, P = 0.2154;hospital costs: 63524.29 ± 17891.80 RMB vs. 58733.84 ± 13280.82 RMB, P = 0.1154), ERAS demonstrated better postoperative recovery outcomes in single-level lumbar spinal stenosis surgery. Conclusion: The study results support the implementation of ERAS principles in single-level lumbar spinal stenosis surgery to promote rapid recovery, reduce healthcare resource consumption, and improve overall patient satisfaction. 展开更多

Objective:To systematically evaluate the safety and efficacy of acupuncture on patients with postherpetic neuralgia. Methods:Based on the heyword retrieval method,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI,1978-2020),China Biomedical Literature database(CBM,1979-2020),VIP database(WEIPU,1989-2020),Wanfang database(1989-2020),Cochrane Library,PubMed,and Embase were searched;randomized controlled trials of the use of acupuncture in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia were screened out;the quality of the included literatures was evaluated based on the evaluation criteria in the Cochrane Handbook, and meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3.Results:Twenty-six literatures that met the criteria, involving 2,174 patients, were included;the meta-analysis showed that compared with western medicine, the use of acupuncture can improve the overall effective rate(RR=1.24,95%CI[1.17,1.32],P<0.00001)and reduce the VAS score(MD=-1.43,95%CI[-1.97,-0.89],P<0.00001).Conclusion:The use of acupuncture can further improve the clinical effect of patients with postherpetic neuralgia. 展开更多

Objective:To compare and correlate the efficacy of the NOSE score&the VAS score in determining the symptomatic benefit in patients undergoing septoplasty.Materials and methods:Eighty patients with deviated nasal septum undergoing septoplasty were included in the study.NOSE score&VAS score(out of 100)was documented before and after surgery. Results were correlated and compared statistically. Results:In the NOSE score, the most bothersome symptom was trouble breathing through the nose(85.83);followed by Nasal obstruction or blockage(82.50).Wilcoxon test showed significant improvement with NOSE score and VAS score in all patients at 1 month and 3 months.Spearman’s coefficient showed a positive correlation between the two, though the score improvement and patient satisfaction rate was significantly high with NOSE score. Conclusions:NOSE score and the VAS score both provide effective framework for evaluating treatment responses after septoplasty. However, the NOSE score showed higher improvement and better patient satisfaction rate when used to measure of nasal obstruction as compared to the VAS score. 展开更多

Objective To observe the correlation between analgesic effect and duration of analgesic effect of superficial needling for shoulder pain of shoulderhand syndrome(SHS) after stroke, so as to screen the best time period of analgesia. Methods A total of 120 patients with SHS after stroke(stage I) were recruited and superficial needling therapy was applied. Two obvious tenderness points on the affected shoulder of patients were found out. The site 80–100 mm down each tenderness point was selected for superficial needling. Bimanual needling technique was applied after inserting needles. The surrounding of tenderness points was pinched and grasped by left hand above the needling, and the technique of green dragon swaying tail was applied by right hand. The needles at each acupoint were manipulated for3 min and retained for 30 min. The analgesic effect was evaluated dynamically by visual analogue scale(VAS) in 120 patients before treatment, immediately after treatment, 30 min after treatment, 1 h after treatment and 24 h after treatment. The analgesic effects at different time were statistically analyzed by generalized estimating equation. Results The mean values of VAS were 7.483, 3.950, 4.767, 5.917 and 7.217, respectively, before treatment, immediately after treatment, 30 min after treatment, 1 h after treatment and 24 h after treatment. The difference of analgesic effect at different time was statistically significant(P〈0.01); the difference of analgesic effect of superficial needling in treatment of SHS after stroke was significant between immediately after treatment and 30 min after treatment(both P〈0.05), while there was no significant difference between 1 h after treatment and 24 h after treatment(both P〈0.05). Conclusion Analgesic effect of superficial needling for shoulder pain of SHS after stroke was different at different time points and decreased over time; analgesic effect was the most significant immediately after treatment and the optimal duration of analgesic effect was from immediately to 30 min after superficial needling therapy. 展开更多
