Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a common cause of upper respiratory and oral disease in cats. Highly virulent systemic strains of FCV (vs FCV) have been described. These vs FCV isolates cause characteristic edema, cutaneo...Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a common cause of upper respiratory and oral disease in cats. Highly virulent systemic strains of FCV (vs FCV) have been described. These vs FCV isolates cause characteristic edema, cutaneous ulcers and other clinical signs typically associated with FCV infection. Vs FCV isolates also cause high mortality even in previously vaccinated cats. We reported previously that the FCV serum cross-neutralization profile of cat serum generated using the oralnasal route of administration is broader than with subcutaneous administration (SC), as measured with a 26-FCV viral panel (Rong et al., Virus Research 122:95-108, 2006). In this report, we tested the in vivo ef- ficacy of the FCV vaccine, in a 4-way (FCV-FHV-FPV-FCp) format, by using a highly virulent vs FCV- 33585 as the challenge virus. Vaccines were administered as 2-dose subcutaneouly (SC/SC), or subcutaneously followed by orally (SC/Oral). The mortality induced by vs FCV-33585 in unvaccinated control cats was 78% (7 out of 9 cats). The mortality decreased to 44% (4 out of 9 cats) with cats vaccinated with the 4-way vaccine given SC/SC. However, when this vaccine was given SC/Oral, the mortality decreased to 10% (1 out of 10 cats). The clinical scores, calculated based on frequency and severity of various clinical signs, correlated with mortality data. These results demonstrated that oral administration of FCV vaccines, as the second dose following the first dose of subcutaneious administration, ehances FCV efficacy against challenge of a highly virulent vs FCV. We propose that not only oral vaccination offers convenience and needle-free inoculation, it also enhances FCV vaccine efficacy.展开更多

In this work, the author noticed that some/most of the problems in the world countries, are because of the past/present differences, disputes about ethnic origins, federation systems, political and/or religious ideolo...In this work, the author noticed that some/most of the problems in the world countries, are because of the past/present differences, disputes about ethnic origins, federation systems, political and/or religious ideologies, organizations, mythologies, religions/sects, organs of governments, party systems, political systems, basic senses, administrations, and others. Purpose of this work, is to solve these problems for all related sides in a country and/or in the world to obtain continuable (political/non-political) administrative system(s) for the world countries by considering countries' union theory. The author considered the "synthesis" method and evaluated, generally/specifically, all these subjects also related philosophy branches, present political ideology spectrums, power sources and structures, public administrations, science branches by considering nearly 12,000 years written historical period. The author also considered his personal contacts with nearly 80,000 people from different political/non-political groups, and from all different position levels of persons, directly/indirectly. The author defined 21 dimensions of the synthesis to categorise the problems, related solutions, and theories he found. General points that can be evaluate as positive and/or negative about each side are expressed. Basic important concepts and definitions about political/non-political administrations of a world country are defined. General types of organizations and administrations in the world are expressed together with some related problems in the present systems. Good and/or correct perspective that must be behind administration(s) is described. Categories and types of interacted sides are explained. In order to better evaluate the transport effect of nanoparticles through the nasal mucosa,an in vitro nasal cavity-mimic model was designed based on M cells.The differentiation of M cells was induced by co-culture of...In order to better evaluate the transport effect of nanoparticles through the nasal mucosa,an in vitro nasal cavity-mimic model was designed based on M cells.The differentiation of M cells was induced by co-culture of Calu-3 and Raji cells in invert model.The ZO-1 protein staining and the transport of fluorescein sodium and dexamethasone showed that the inverted co-culture model formed a dense monolayer and possessed the transport ability.The differentiation of M cells was observed by upregulated expression of Sialyl Lewis A antigen(SLAA)and integrinβ1,and down-regulated activity of alkaline phosphatase.After targeting M cells with iRGD peptide(cRGDKGPDC),the transport of nanoparticles increased.In vivo,the co-administration of iRGD could result in the increase of nanoparticles transported to the brain through the nasal cavity after intranasal administration.In the evaluation of immune effect in vivo,the nasal administration of OVA-PLGA/iRGD led to more release of IgG,IFN-γ,IL-2 and secretory IgA(sIgA)compared with OVA@PLGA group.Collectively,the study constructed in vitro M cell model,and proved the enhanced effect of targeting towards M cell with iRGD on improving nasal immunity.展开更多
BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a pancreatic inflammatory disorder that is commonly complicated by extrapancreatic organ dysfunction.Dachengqi decoction(DCQD)has a potential role in protecting the extrapancreatic ...BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a pancreatic inflammatory disorder that is commonly complicated by extrapancreatic organ dysfunction.Dachengqi decoction(DCQD)has a potential role in protecting the extrapancreatic organs,but the optimal oral administration time remains unclear.AIM To screen the appropriate oral administration time of DCQD for the protection of extrapancreatic organs based on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of AP rats.METHODS This study consisted of two parts.In the first part,24 rats were divided into a sham-operated group and three model groups.The four groups were intragastrically administered with DCQD(10 g/kg)at 4 h,4 h,12 h,and 24 h postoperatively,respectively.Tail vein blood was taken at nine time points after administration,and then the rats were euthanized and the extrapancreatic organ tissues were immediately collected.Finally,the concentrations of the major DCQD components in all samples were detected.In the second part,84 rats were divided into a sham-operated group,as well as 4 h,12 h,and 24 h treatment groups and corresponding control groups(4 h,12 h,and 24 h control groups).Rats in the treatment groups were intragastrically administered with DCQD(10 g/kg)at 4 h,12 h,and 24 h postoperatively,respectively,and rats in the control groups were administered with normal saline at the same time points.Then,six rats from each group were euthanized at 4 h and 24 h after administration.Serum amylase and inflammatory mediators,and pathological scores of extrapancreatic organ tissues were evaluated.RESULTS For part one,the pharmacokinetic parameters(C max,T max,T 1/2,and AUC 0→t)of the major DCQD components and the tissue distribution of most DCQD components were better when administering DCQD at the later(12 h and 24 h)time points.For part two,delayed administration of DCQD resulted in lower IL-6 and amylase levels and relatively higher IL-10 levels,and pathological injury of extrapancreatic organ tissues was slightly less at 4 h after administration,while the results were similar between the treatment and corresponding control groups at 24 h after administration.CONCLUSION Delayed administration of DCQD might reduce pancreatic exocrine secretions and ameliorate pathological injury in the extrapancreatic organs of AP rats,demonstrating that the late time is the optimal dosing time.展开更多
AIM To determine whether hepatitis B virus(HBV)-testing could serve as a gateway to vaccinate non-immunized individuals in a low-prevalent country.METHODS Non-immunized subjects participating in a multi-center, HBV-te...AIM To determine whether hepatitis B virus(HBV)-testing could serve as a gateway to vaccinate non-immunized individuals in a low-prevalent country.METHODS Non-immunized subjects participating in a multi-center, HBV-testing campaign in Paris, France were identified and contacted via telephone 3-9 mo after testing in order to determine vaccination status. Vaccination coverage was evaluated in per-protocol(for all respondents) and intent-to-treat analysis(assuming all non-responders did not vaccinate).RESULTS In total, 1215/4924(24.7%) enrolled subjects with complete HBV serology were identified as nonimmunized and eligible for analysis. There were 99/902 successfully contacted subjects who had initiated HBV vaccination after screening: per-protocol, 11.0%(95%CI: 9.0-13.2); intent-to-treat, 8.2%(95%CI: 6.7-9.8). In multivariable analysis, vaccination was more likely to be initiated in individuals originating from moderate or high HBV-endemic countries(P < 0.001), patients with limited healthcare coverage(P = 0.01) and men who have sex with men(P = 0.02). When asked about the reasons for not initiating HBV vaccination, the most frequent response was "will be vaccinated later"(33.4%), followed by "did not want to vaccinate"(29.8%), and "vaccination was not proposed by the physician"(21.5%). Sub-group analysis indicated a stark contrast in vaccination coverage across centers, ranging from 0%-56%.CONCLUSION HBV-vaccination after HBV screening was very low in this study, which appeared largely attributed to physician-patient motivation towards vaccination. Increased vaccination coverage might be achieved by emphasizing its need at the organizational level.展开更多

[ Method ] The 1-day-old AA broilers were treated with ATRA at the doses of I and 5 p.mol/kg, respectively. At 7 and 28 days of age, broilers in drug control group, low dose group and high dose group were immunized with ND vaccine by intranasal and eye immunization approach. At 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 clays of age, seven chickens were randomly se- lected from each group and weighed. The thymus, spleen, bursa of fabrieius and serum were collected for calculating immune organ index of thymus, spleen and bursa of fabricius. The ND specific antibody titers in serum were determined with HI test. [Result] ATRA promoted the growth of thymus, spleen and bursa of fabricius, and improved the immune organ index and ND specific antibody titers of chicks. [ Conclusion] ATRA enhanced the humoral immune response of chicks, and ATRT at the dose of 5 μmol/kg presented more prominent immune enhancement effect on ND vaccine.展开更多
BACKGROUND Single-organ vasculitis(SOV)is characterized by inflammation of a blood vessel,affecting one organ,such as the skin,genitourinary system,or the aorta without systemic features.Gastrointestinal SOV is rare,w...BACKGROUND Single-organ vasculitis(SOV)is characterized by inflammation of a blood vessel,affecting one organ,such as the skin,genitourinary system,or the aorta without systemic features.Gastrointestinal SOV is rare,with hepatic artery involvement reported only in two prior published cases.Herein,we presented a case of isolated hepatic artery vasculitis presenting after Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccination.CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old woman with hypertension presented to our Emergency Department with recurrent diffuse abdominal pain that localized to the epigastrium and emesis without diarrhea that began eight days after the second dose of the PfizerBioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.Blood work revealed an elevated C-reactive protein(CRP)of 19 mg/L(normal<4.8 mg/L),alkaline phosphatase 150 U/L(normal 25-105 U/L),gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)45 U/L(normal<43 U/L)and elevated immunoglobulins(Ig)G 18.4 g/L(normal 7-16 g/L)and IgA 4.4 g/L(normal 0.7-4 g/L).An abdominal computed tomography revealed findings in keeping with hepatic artery vasculitis.A detailed review of her history and examination did not reveal infectious or systemic autoimmune causes of her presentation.An extensive autoimmune panel was unremarkable.COVID-19polymerase chain reaction nasopharyngeal swab,human immunodeficiency virus,viral hepatitis and Heliobacter pylori serology were negative.At six months,the patient’s symptoms,and blood work spontaneously normalized.CONCLUSION High clinical suspicion of SOV is required for diagnosis in patients with acute abdominal pain and dyspepsia.展开更多

文摘AIM To determine whether hepatitis B virus(HBV)-testing could serve as a gateway to vaccinate non-immunized individuals in a low-prevalent country.METHODS Non-immunized subjects participating in a multi-center, HBV-testing campaign in Paris, France were identified and contacted via telephone 3-9 mo after testing in order to determine vaccination status. Vaccination coverage was evaluated in per-protocol(for all respondents) and intent-to-treat analysis(assuming all non-responders did not vaccinate).RESULTS In total, 1215/4924(24.7%) enrolled subjects with complete HBV serology were identified as nonimmunized and eligible for analysis. There were 99/902 successfully contacted subjects who had initiated HBV vaccination after screening: per-protocol, 11.0%(95%CI: 9.0-13.2); intent-to-treat, 8.2%(95%CI: 6.7-9.8). In multivariable analysis, vaccination was more likely to be initiated in individuals originating from moderate or high HBV-endemic countries(P < 0.001), patients with limited healthcare coverage(P = 0.01) and men who have sex with men(P = 0.02). When asked about the reasons for not initiating HBV vaccination, the most frequent response was "will be vaccinated later"(33.4%), followed by "did not want to vaccinate"(29.8%), and "vaccination was not proposed by the physician"(21.5%). Sub-group analysis indicated a stark contrast in vaccination coverage across centers, ranging from 0%-56%.CONCLUSION HBV-vaccination after HBV screening was very low in this study, which appeared largely attributed to physician-patient motivation towards vaccination. Increased vaccination coverage might be achieved by emphasizing its need at the organizational level.

文摘[ Objective] The paper was to study the immune enhancement of ATRA on Newcastle Disease (ND) vaccine. [ Method ] The 1-day-old AA broilers were treated with ATRA at the doses of I and 5 p.mol/kg, respectively. At 7 and 28 days of age, broilers in drug control group, low dose group and high dose group were immunized with ND vaccine by intranasal and eye immunization approach. At 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 clays of age, seven chickens were randomly se- lected from each group and weighed. The thymus, spleen, bursa of fabrieius and serum were collected for calculating immune organ index of thymus, spleen and bursa of fabricius. The ND specific antibody titers in serum were determined with HI test. [Result] ATRA promoted the growth of thymus, spleen and bursa of fabricius, and improved the immune organ index and ND specific antibody titers of chicks. [ Conclusion] ATRA enhanced the humoral immune response of chicks, and ATRT at the dose of 5 μmol/kg presented more prominent immune enhancement effect on ND vaccine.
文摘BACKGROUND Single-organ vasculitis(SOV)is characterized by inflammation of a blood vessel,affecting one organ,such as the skin,genitourinary system,or the aorta without systemic features.Gastrointestinal SOV is rare,with hepatic artery involvement reported only in two prior published cases.Herein,we presented a case of isolated hepatic artery vasculitis presenting after Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccination.CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old woman with hypertension presented to our Emergency Department with recurrent diffuse abdominal pain that localized to the epigastrium and emesis without diarrhea that began eight days after the second dose of the PfizerBioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.Blood work revealed an elevated C-reactive protein(CRP)of 19 mg/L(normal<4.8 mg/L),alkaline phosphatase 150 U/L(normal 25-105 U/L),gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)45 U/L(normal<43 U/L)and elevated immunoglobulins(Ig)G 18.4 g/L(normal 7-16 g/L)and IgA 4.4 g/L(normal 0.7-4 g/L).An abdominal computed tomography revealed findings in keeping with hepatic artery vasculitis.A detailed review of her history and examination did not reveal infectious or systemic autoimmune causes of her presentation.An extensive autoimmune panel was unremarkable.COVID-19polymerase chain reaction nasopharyngeal swab,human immunodeficiency virus,viral hepatitis and Heliobacter pylori serology were negative.At six months,the patient’s symptoms,and blood work spontaneously normalized.CONCLUSION High clinical suspicion of SOV is required for diagnosis in patients with acute abdominal pain and dyspepsia.
文摘Administrative department, as the focus of national political system reform, is associated with optimization and adjustment of state institutions and plays a macro-control role in socialist economic development. Administrative departments, just the "government", conduct economic control function to promote the sustainable development of social economic causes. The thesis firstly introduces administrative departments' era effect and causes of administrative departments' economic policy ineffectiveness. And on the basis of these, the thesis comes up with some solutions to solve economic ineffectiveness, hoping that it would be helpful to relevant researches.
