Thus the average stress values of 19 regions in western USA, and 43 regions (each region is 1010) in Chinese mainland and its ...A method is proposed to estimate average tectonic ambient shear stress value for a region. Thus the average stress values of 19 regions in western USA, and 43 regions (each region is 1010) in Chinese mainland and its surroundings have been obtained. The data of 15 993 earthquakes are from the Internet Centroid Moment Tensor solution made by Harvard University from 1997 to 1999. The results demonstrate that there are highest average stress values in the regions of south California of USA and its off coast sea, reach to 12.0 MPa and 13.7 MPa respectively, then gradually decrease toward north, south, and east. The lowest value is 8.7 MPa and 63% of highest value. The average stress values in northern Xinjiang and in the Chayu region of Tibet are 17.2 and 12.9 MPa respectively. They are highest values in China and higher than USAs. The average stress value in North China, Yunnan, Sichuan, Taiwan is similar to south California of USA. The average stress value in South-North seismic zone is about 13 MPa, a little higher than south California. The distribution of average stress value for two important regions provides basic data for geology. These results are useful to research earthquake activity background and attenuation relation of strong ground motion parameters (e.g. peak acceleration and response spectra).展开更多
To compare the diagnostic value of four signs for superior labrum anterior and posterior (SLAP) lesions of the shoulder.Methods The physical examination was performed randomly on 81 cases with abnormalities of the sho...To compare the diagnostic value of four signs for superior labrum anterior and posterior (SLAP) lesions of the shoulder.Methods The physical examination was performed randomly on 81 cases with abnormalities of the shoulder.There were four tests,including Kibler anterior sliding test,Liu crank test,O’Brien active compression test and Kim biceps load test Ⅱ.The arthroscopic examination were also performed.The result of the arthroscopic examination was considered as a golden standard,so that we could estimate the diagnosis value of the four tests according to the method of evaluation of diagnosis test on clinical epidemiology,their sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive value,accuracy.Results There were 21 cases diagnosed as SLAP lesions by arthroscopy.The diagnosis value of Kim biceps load test Ⅱ was the highest among the four tests,in which 19 of true positive,59 of true negative,1 of false positive,only 2 of false negative cases;while the sensitivity was 90.48%,specificity was 98.33%,positive predictive value was 95.00%,negative predictive value was 96.72%,and accuracy was 96.30%.However the sensitivity,specificity,positive predicitive value,negative predictive vale and accuracy of Kibler anterior sliding test were 76.19%,96.67%,88.89%,92.06%,91.33%;and those of Liu crank test were 85.71%,93.33%,81.82%,94.92%,91.35%;those of O’Brien active compression test were 80.95%,91.66%,77.27%,93.22%,88.89%.Conclusion Kim Biceps load test Ⅱ may be the best for clinical diagnosis of SLAP lesions of the shoulder.9 refs,4 figs,2 tabs.展开更多

Recent advances in molecular genetics techniques have made dense marker maps available, and the prediction of breeding value at the genome level has been employed in genetics research. However, an increasingly large n...Recent advances in molecular genetics techniques have made dense marker maps available, and the prediction of breeding value at the genome level has been employed in genetics research. However, an increasingly large number of markers raise both statistical and computational issues in genomic selection (GS), and many methods have been developed for genomic prediction to address these problems, including ridge regression-best linear unbiased prediction (RR-BLUP), genomic best linear unbiased prediction, BayesA, BayesB, BayesCπ, and Bayesian LASSO. In this paper, these methods were compared regarding inference under different conditions, using real data from a wheat data set and simulated scenarios with a small number of quantitative trait loci (QTL) (20), a moderate number of QTL (60, 180) and an extreme number of QTL (540). This study showed that the genetic architecture of a trait should be fully considered when a GS method is chosen. If a small amount of loci had a large effect on a trait, great differences were found between the predictive ability of various methods and BayesCπ was recommended. Although there was almost no significant difference between the predictive ability of BayesCπ andBayesB, BayesCπ is more feasible than BayesB for real data analysis. If a trait was controlled by a moderate number of genes, the absolute differences between the various methods were small, but BayesA was also found to be the most accurate method. Furthermore, BayesA was widely adaptable and could perform well with different numbers of QTL. If a trait was controlled by an extreme number of minor genes, almost no significant differences were detected between the predictive ability of various methods, but RR-BLUP slightly outperformed the others in both simulated scenarios and real data analysis, thus demonstrating its robustness and indicating that it was quite effective in this case.展开更多
