Oscillation amplitude of the material box large enough can be ensured on the vibration system in order to screen materials. The global dynamic characteristic of nonlinear torsional vibration system with nonlinear rigidity and nonlinear friction force is investigated. On the basis of the generalized dissipation Lagrange's equation, the dynamics equation of nonlinear torsional vibration system is deduced. The bifurcation and chaotic motion in the system subjected to an external harmonic excitation is studied by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. The stability of unperturbed system is analyzed by using the stability theory of equilibrium positions of Hamiltonian systems. The criterion of existence of chaos phenomena under a periodic perturbation is given by means of Melnikov's method. It is shown that the existence of homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits in the unperturbed system implies chaos arising from breaking of homoclinic or heteroclinic orbits under perturbation. The validity of the result is checked numerically. Periodic doubling bifurcation route to chaos, quasi-periodic route to chaos, intermittency route to chaos are found to occur due to the amplitude varying in some range. The evolution of system dynamic responses is demonstrated in detail by Poincare maps and bifurcation diagrams when the system undergoes a sequence of periodic doubling or quasi-periodic bifurcations to chaos. The conclusion can provide reference for deeply researching the dynamic behavior of mechanical drive systems.展开更多

The CEMDTS, the leapfrog central difference method, the Newmark method, the generalized-a method and the precise integration method were implemented in typical nonlinear examples for the purpose of comparison. Both conservative and non-conservative systems were examined. The results show that it isn't unconditionally stable for the precise integration method, the Newmark method and the generalized-a method in nonlinear systems. The stable interval of the three methods is less than that of the CEMDTS. When a small time step(?t≤T_(min)/20) is employed, the precise integration method is endowed with the highest accuracy while the CEMDTS possesses the smallest computation effort. However, the CEMDTS becomes the most accurate one when the time step is large(?t≥0.3T_(min)) or the system is strongly nonlinear. Therefore, the CEMDTS is more applicable to the nonlinear vibration systems.展开更多

First, the damping matrix is decomposed into the sum of a proportional-and a nonproportional-damping parts, and the solutions of the real modal eigenproblem with the proportional dampings are determined, which are a set of initial approximate solutions of the complex modal eigenproblem. Second, by taking the nonproportional-damping part as a small modification to the proportional one and using the matrix perturbation analysis method, a set of approximate solutions of the complex modal eigenvalue problem can be obtained analytically. The result is quite simple. The new method is applicable to the systems with viscous dampings-which do not deviate far away from the proportional-damping case. It is particularly important that the solution technique be also effective to the systems with heavy, but not over, dampings. The solution formulas of complex modal eigenvlaues and eigenvectors are derived up to second-order perturbation terms. The effectiveness of the perturbation algorithm is illustrated by an exemplar numerical problem with heavy dampings. In addition, the practicability of approximately estimating the complex modal eigenvalues, under the proportional-damping hypothesis, of damped vibration systems is discussed by several numerical examples.展开更多

Taking dynamic absorbers with different structural and control parameters as examples, the effects of third-order nonlinear coefficients, time-delay control parameters, and negative stiffness coefficients on reducing the replication of the main system were discussed. The nonlinear dynamic absorber has a very good vibration reduction effect at the resonance point of the main system and a nearby area, and when 1 increases to a certain level, the stable region of the system continues to increase. The amplitude curve of the main system of a nonlinear dynamic absorber will generate Hop bifurcation and saddle node bifurcation in the region far from the resonance point, resulting in almost periodic motion and jumping phenomena in the system. For nonlinear dynamic absorbers with determined structural parameters, time-delay feedback control can be adopted to control the amplitude of the main system. For different negative stiffness coefficients, there exists a minimum damping point for the amplitude of the main system under the determined system structural parameters and time-delay feedback control parameters.展开更多

In the traditional research work, it is difficult to obtain closed-form solutions for the forced vibration when the damping effect and the coupling effect of multiple second-order models are considered. In this paper, Green's function method based on the Laplace transform is used to obtain closed-form solutions for the forced vibration of second-order axially moving systems. By taking the axially moving damping string system and multi-string system connected by springs as examples, the detailed solution methods and the analytical Green's functions of these second-order systems are given. 文摘With its complex nonlinear dynamic behavior, the tristable system has shown excellent performance in areas such as energy harvesting and vibration suppression, and has attracted a lot of attention. In this paper,an asymmetric tristable design is proposed to improve the vibration suppression efficiency of nonlinear energy sinks(NESs)for the first time. The proposed asymmetric tristable NES(ATNES)is composed of a pair of oblique springs and a vertical spring. Then, the three stable states, symmetric and asymmetric, can be achieved by the adjustment of the distance and stiffness asymmetry of the oblique springs. The governing equations of a linear oscillator(LO)coupled with the ATNES are derived. The approximate analytical solution to the coupled system is obtained by the harmonic balance method(HBM)and verified numerically. The vibration suppression efficiency of three types of ATNES is compared. The results show that the asymmetric design can improve the efficiency of vibration reduction through comparing the chaotic motion of the NES oscillator between asymmetric steady states. In addition, compared with the symmetrical tristable NES(TNES),the ATNES can effectively control smaller structural vibrations. In other words, the ATNES can effectively solve the threshold problem of TNES failure to weak excitation. Therefore, this paper reveals the vibration reduction mechanism of the ATNES,and provides a pathway to expand the effective excitation amplitude range of the NES.

文摘The fatigue damage caused by flow-induced vibration(FIV)is one of the major concerns for multiple cylindrical structures in many engineering applications. The FIV suppression is of great importance for the security of many cylindrical structures. Many active and passive control methods have been employed for the vibration suppression of an isolated cylinder undergoing vortex-induced vibrations(VIV).The FIV suppression methods are mainly extended to the multiple cylinders from the vibration control of the isolated cylinder.Due to the mutual interference between the multiple cylinders, the FIV mechanism is more complex than the VIV mechanism, which makes a great challenge for the FIV suppression. Some efforts have been devoted to vibration suppression of multiple cylinder systems undergoing FIV over the past two decades. The control methods, such as helical strakes, splitter plates, control rods and flexible sheets, are not always effective, depending on many influence factors, such as the spacing ratio, the arrangement geometrical shape, the flow velocity and the parameters of the vibration control devices. The FIV response, hydrodynamic features and wake patterns of the multiple cylinders equipped with vibration control devices are reviewed and summarized. The FIV suppression efficiency of the vibration control methods are analyzed and compared considering different influence factors.Further research on the FIV suppression of multiple cylinders is suggested to provide insight for the development of FIV control methods and promote engineering applications of FIV control methods.

文摘When investigating the vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of marine risers, extrapolating the dynamic response on the entire length based on limited sensor measurements is a crucial step in both laboratory experiments and fatigue monitoring of real risers. The problem is conventionally solved using the modal decomposition method, based on the principle that the response can be approximated by a weighted sum of limited vibration modes. However, the method is not valid when the problem is underdetermined,i.e.,the number of unknown mode weights is more than the number of known measurements. This study proposed a sparse modal decomposition method based on the compressed sensing theory and the Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit(Co Sa MP)algorithm, exploiting the sparsity of VIV in the modal space. In the validation study based on high-order VIV experiment data, the proposed method successfully reconstructed the response using only seven acceleration measurements when the conventional methods failed.A primary advantage of the proposed method is that it offers a completely data-driven approach for the underdetermined VIV reconstruction problem, which is more favorable than existing model-dependent solutions for many practical applications such as riser structural health monitoring.

文摘Second-order axially moving systems are common models in the field of dynamics, such as axially moving strings, cables, and belts. The mode functions and frequency equations are also obtained by the obtained Green's functions. The reliability and convenience of the results are verified by several examples. This paper provides a systematic analytical method for the dynamic analysis of second-order axially moving systems, and the obtained Green's functions are applicable to different second-order systems rather than just string systems. In addition, the work of this paper also has positive significance for the study on the forced vibration of high-order systems.

文摘In this paper, the main researches are focused on the horizontal nonlinear vibration characteristics of roll systems for rolling mill, mainly including the study of forced vibration and free vibration of the roller.Firstly, the nonlinear damping parameters and nonlinear stiffness parameters within interface of the rolling mill are both considered, and a fractional-order differential term is also introduced to model the horizontal nonlinear vibration.Secondly, the averaging method is introduced to solve the forced vibration system of the mill roll system, and the amplitude-frequency characteristic curves of the system are obtained for different orders, external excitation amplitudes, stiffness and fractional order coefficients.Thirdly, the amplitude-frequency and phasefrequency characteristics of the free vibration of the mill roll system are investigated at different fractional orders. Then, the accuracy of the averaging method for solving the dynamic characteristics of the system is verified by numerical analysis, and the effect of the fractional differential term coefficients and order on the dynamic characteristics of the roll system are investigated. Finally, the time-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics of free vibration systems at different fractional orders are studied. The validity of the theoretical study is also verified through experiments.

文摘Hysteresis widely exists in civil structures, and dissipates the mechanical energy of systems.Research on the random vibration of hysteretic systems, however,is still insufficient, particularly when the excitation is non-Gaussian.In this paper, the radial basis function(RBF)neural network(RBF-NN)method is adopted as a numerical method to investigate the random vibration of the Bouc-Wen hysteretic system under the Poisson white noise excitations. The solution to the reduced generalized Fokker-PlanckKolmogorov(GFPK)equation is expressed in terms of the RBF-NNs with the Gaussian activation functions, whose weights are determined by minimizing the loss function of the reduced GFPK equation residual and constraint associated with the normalization condition.A steel fiber reinforced ceramsite concrete(SFRCC)column loaded by the Poisson white noise is studied as an example to illustrate the solution process. The effects of several important parameters of both the system and the excitation on the stochastic response are evaluated, and the obtained results are compared with those obtained by the Monte Carlo simulations(MCSs).The numerical results show that the RBF-NN method can accurately predict the stationary response with a considerable high computational efficiency.
