Virtual Keyboard:A Real-Time Hand Gesture Recognition-Based Character Input System Using LSTM and Mediapipe Holistic

In the digital age,non-touch communication technologies are reshaping human-device interactions and raising security concerns.A major challenge in current technology is the misinterpretation of gestures by sensors and cameras,often caused by environmental factors.This issue has spurred the need for advanced data processing methods to achieve more accurate gesture recognition and predictions.Our study presents a novel virtual keyboard allowing character input via distinct hand gestures,focusing on two key aspects:hand gesture recognition and character input mechanisms.We developed a novel model with LSTM and fully connected layers for enhanced sequential data processing and hand gesture recognition.We also integrated CNN,max-pooling,and dropout layers for improved spatial feature extraction.This model architecture processes both temporal and spatial aspects of hand gestures,using LSTM to extract complex patterns from frame sequences for a comprehensive understanding of input data.Our unique dataset,essential for training the model,includes 1,662 landmarks from dynamic hand gestures,33 postures,and 468 face landmarks,all captured in real-time using advanced pose estimation.The model demonstrated high accuracy,achieving 98.52%in hand gesture recognition and over 97%in character input across different scenarios.Its excellent performance in real-time testing underlines its practicality and effectiveness,marking a significant advancement in enhancing human-device interactions in the digital age. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Increasing data indicated that long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)were directly or indirectly involved in the occurrence and development of tumors,including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Recent studies had found that the expression of lncRNA HAND2-AS1 was downregulated in HCC tissues,but its role in HCC progression is unclear.Ultrasound targeted microbubble destruction mediated gene transfection is a new method to overexpress genes.AIM To study the role of ultrasound microbubbles(UTMBs)mediated HAND2-AS1 in the progression of HCC,in order to provide a new reference for the treatment of HCC.METHODS In vitro,we transfected HAND2-AS1 siRNA into HepG2 cells by UTMBs,and detected cell proliferation,apoptosis,invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)by cell counting kit-8 assay,flow cytometry,Transwell invasion assay and Western blotting,respectively.In addition,we transfected miR-837-5p mimic into UTMBs treated cells and observed the changes of cell behavior.Next,the UTMBs treated HepG2 cells were transfected together with miR-837-5p mimic and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2(TIMP2)overexpression vector,and we detected cell proliferation,apoptosis,invasion and EMT.In vivo,we established a mouse model of subcutaneous transplantation of HepG2 cells and observed the effect of HAND2-AS1 silencing on tumor formation ability.RESULTS We found that UTMBs carrying HAND2-AS1 restricted cell proliferation,invasion,and EMT,encouraged apoptosis,and HAND2-AS1 silencing eliminated the effect of UTMBs.Additionally,miR-873-5p targets the gene HAND2-AS1,which also targets the 3’UTR of TIMP2.And miR-873-5p mimic counteracted the impact of HAND2-AS1.Further,miR-873-5p mimic solely or in combination with pcDNA-TIMP2 had been transformed into HepG2 cells exposed to UTMBs.We discovered that TIMP2 reversed the effect of miR-873-5p mimic caused by the blocked signalling cascade for matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)2/MMP9.In vivo results showed that HAND2-AS1 silencing significantly inhibited tumor formation in mice.CONCLUSION LncRNA HAND2-AS1 promotes TIMP2 expression by targeting miR-873-5p to inhibit HepG2 cell growth and delay HCC progression. 展开更多

[Objective] The purpose of this study was to clarify the structure,growth pattern and histochemical localization of alkaloids in root system of Aconitum flavum Hand.-Mazz.[Method] Paraffin sectioning and histochemistry were employed for performing the analysis in this study.[Result] The root system of Aconitum flavum Hand.-Mazz.consists of taproot,lateral root and adventitious root.The primary structure of root system is normal,but secondary structure shows abnormal.The cambium and the extra cambium of taproot form a "U"-shaped secondary vascular bundle and tertiary bundle in abnormal secondary structure.The sieve tube group is made of little sieve tube group which is differentiated from primary phloem and cambium.Meanwhile,the secondary xylem in tuberous root also appears to be a "U" shape.Parenchyma cells of secondary phloem occupy most of the tuberous root.The sieve tube group of tuberous root is mainly differentiated from parenchyma cell of secondary phloem.[Conclusion] The difference in abnormal secondary structure of taproot and tuberous root are attributed to their varied cambium compose and activity pattern.Alkaloids are mainly accumulated in parenchyma cell of the inside cortex and between bundle in taproot,while parenchyma of secondary phloem and pith in tuberous root. 展开更多

And the comparability between the action of virtual hand and real man-hand has always been regarded as one of the important criteria to judge whether the virtual environment has the property of immersion. On the basis of analyzing the relative position,posture,and motion behavior relationship between virtual hand and the object to be operated during virtual assembly,this paper proposed an implementation method of combining grasp index with collision detecting technology for identifying grasp action of virtual hand. The method is to identify grasp/quit using grasp index and to implement joint angle adjustment through simulation cyclic iteration and joint angle interpolation calculation. Although some traditional method identifying the grasp action on the basis of the shape of the object is operated,the simulation result getting from virtual environment created by EON STUDIO shows that it has good features of serviceability and fidelity to realize operation control of virtual hand. 展开更多

Therefore, the real estate market regulation aiming at the first -tier cities and the"housing stock" should take the second - hand housing market as the main direction, startingwith the sale price and influencing factors of new houses. 身体意象是个体在意识层面对与身体有关的知觉、态度及信念,它的稳定性与可塑性一直存在争论。本研究使用方位追踪仪、数据手套及投影仪,通过2个实验考查虚拟手错觉中距离参照系对身体拥有感的影响。实验1在虚拟环境中采用经典橡胶手错... 身体意象是个体在意识层面对与身体有关的知觉、态度及信念,它的稳定性与可塑性一直存在争论。本研究使用方位追踪仪、数据手套及投影仪,通过2个实验考查虚拟手错觉中距离参照系对身体拥有感的影响。实验1在虚拟环境中采用经典橡胶手错觉的变式,考察同步性和虚拟手位置对拥有感的影响;实验2引入距离参照系,考察在不同参照条件下被试对同一个位置的虚拟手在不同同步情况下的拥有感错觉。研究结果发现:(1)无论是同步性还是距离都会对虚拟手错觉中的拥有感产生影响,即同步比不同步条件下、距离近比距离远条件下拥有感显著;(2)不同的距离参照系对同一位置的拥有感体验影响差异显著,先近后远的呈现方式会减弱错觉而先远后近的呈现方式则会加强错觉。这一发现与身体拥有感是受稳定的身体意象调节的假设并不一致。 展开更多

目的评价虚拟仿真系统在口腔专业低年级本科生手部技能进阶式训练的应用效果。方法选择78名大二口腔专业本科生作为培训对象,利用Simodont虚拟系统模块设计出进阶式培训课程,包括初级(60%完成度)、中级(80%完成度)、高级(90%完成度),共... 目的评价虚拟仿真系统在口腔专业低年级本科生手部技能进阶式训练的应用效果。方法选择78名大二口腔专业本科生作为培训对象,利用Simodont虚拟系统模块设计出进阶式培训课程,包括初级(60%完成度)、中级(80%完成度)、高级(90%完成度),共5学时,通过初、中、高级虚拟课程培训,考察学生操作的效率。结果78名学生通过初、中、高的虚拟课程培训后,平均分数为初级(74.42±5.00)、中级(73.70±3.79)分,高级(70.04±3.98)分。平均操作时间逐渐缩短,初级(6.43±2.25)min,中级(6.19±1.98)min,高级(4.87±0.98)min。操作效率逐渐升高,其中高级虚拟课程培训与初、中级相比差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论以Simodont虚拟系统操作模块为基础的进阶式虚拟课程能提高低年级学生的操作效率,具有推广价值。 展开更多

VOFilter is an XML based filter developed by the Chinese Virtual Observatory project to transform tabular data files from VOTable format into OpenDocument format. VOTable is an XML format defined for the exchange of tabular data in the context of the Virtual Observatory (VO). It is the first Proposed Recommendation defined by International Virtual Observatory Alliance, and has obtained wide support from both the VO community and many Astronomy projects. OpenOffice.org is a mature, open source, and front office application suite with the advantage of native support of industrial standard OpenDocument XML file format. Using the VOFilter, VOTable files can be loaded in OpenOffice.org Calc, a spreadsheet application, and then displayed and analyzed as other spreadsheet files. Here, the VOFilter acts as a connector, bridging the coming VO with current industrial office applications. We introduce Virtual Observatory and technical background of the VOFilter. Its workflow, installation and usage are presented. Existing problems and limitations are also discussed together with the future development plans. 展开更多

Background Interactions with virtual 3D objects in the virtual reality(VR)environment using the gesture of fingers captured in a wearable 2D camera have emerging applications in real-life.Method This paper presents an approach of a two-stage convolutional neural network,one for the detection of hand and another for the fingertips.One purpose of VR environments is to transform a virtual 3D object with affine parameters by using the gesture of thumb and index fingers.Results To evaluate the performance of the proposed system,one existing,and another developed egocentric fingertip databases are employed so that learning involves large variations that are common in real-life.Experimental results show that the proposed fingertip detection system outperforms the existing systems in terms of the precision of detection.Conclusion The interaction performance of the proposed system in the VR environment is higher than that of the existing systems in terms of estimation error and correlation between the ground truth and estimated affine parameters. 展开更多

针对现有鳍条效应软体手指建模分析方法难以兼顾高精度与小运算量的问题,本研究以课题组设计的苹果采摘软体机械手为对象,在观察软体手指变形的基础上,提出将鳍条效应软体手指等效为串连铰链四杆机构;运用虚功原理推导了给定变形状态下... 针对现有鳍条效应软体手指建模分析方法难以兼顾高精度与小运算量的问题,本研究以课题组设计的苹果采摘软体机械手为对象,在观察软体手指变形的基础上,提出将鳍条效应软体手指等效为串连铰链四杆机构;运用虚功原理推导了给定变形状态下软体手指各处接触力与驱动力矩计算方法;提出用线弹性扭簧模型描述变形恢复力矩,利用改进的粒子群算法求解各级四杆机构扭簧劲度系数;基于有限元模型,结合二次开发建立了给定关节转角和充气压力下驱动力矩的BP神经网络静态模型。搭建试验平台对3个不同大小的仿真苹果在3个不同高度位置下进行抓取力测量试验。试验结果表明,所建立的力学模型计算抓取力相对误差绝对值小于8.6%,与有限元模型精度相当;驱动力矩测量试验结果表明关节神经网络模型计算值与测量值变化趋势相同,相对误差小于12.7%。 展开更多

This paper introduces a self-sensing anthropomorphic robot hand driven by Twisted String Actuators(TSAs).The use of TSAs provides several advantages such as muscle-like structures,high transmission ratios,large output forces,high efficiency,compactness,inherent compliance,and the ability to transmit power over distances.However,conventional sensors used in TSA-actuated robotic hands increase stiffness,mass,volume,and complexity,making feedback control challenging.To address this issue,a novel self-sensing approach is proposed using strain-sensing string based on Conductive Polymer Composite(CPC).By measuring the resistance changes in the strain-sensing string,the bending angle of the robot hand's fingers can be estimated,enabling closed-loop control without external sensors.The developed self-sensing anthropomorphic robot hand comprises a 3D-printed structure with five fingers,a palm,five self-sensing TSAs,and a 3D-printed forearm.Experimental studies validate the self-sensing properties of the TSA and the anthropomorphic robot hand.Additionally,a real-time Virtual Reality(VR)monitoring system is implemented for visualizing and monitoring the robot hand's movements using its self-sensing capabilities.This research contributes valuable insights and advancements to the field of intelligent prosthetics and robotic end grippers. 展开更多
