Balancing family obligations and personal aspirations is crucial for college students in making life decisions.This critical review examined empirical studies on the effects of filial piety on college students’vocati...Balancing family obligations and personal aspirations is crucial for college students in making life decisions.This critical review examined empirical studies on the effects of filial piety on college students’vocational identity and agency.According to identity capital theory,college students need a sense of agency to construct identity consciously and adapt to adulthood.Filial piety may profoundly influence this process as the core value and internalized social structure for the role of being an adult child in a Chinese family.However,no studies have been conducted from the identity capital perspective.This review found that filial piety had direct effects on college students'vocational identity and also indirect effects by shaping specific agency competencies.The impact of filial piety on the agency was more likely to occur through providing normative guidance about adult roles,influencing how college students view family as a supportive resource,and perpetuating parenting experiences.Based on these findings,this article suggested further examining the mediating role of agency between filial piety and identity development,as well as the effects of filial piety on the psychological foundation of agency development.This review suggested enhancing the agency of college students and encouraging reflections on filial piety in career education.展开更多

Students in vocational technical colleges have been regarded as low English proficiency learners due to their weak foundation in learning English. To explore the solution, the present study employed a specific survey of language learning strategy use and tried to conduct a one-semester language learning strategy training, aiming to investigate the effects of integrating language learning strategy into EFL instruction for non-English major students in vocational technical colleges. We found after the instruction, the difference in the frequency of overall strategy use between the experimental group and the control group was significant indicating that the students could be trained with language learning strategies to enhance the frequency of their strategy use. After language learning strategy instruction, the experimental group didn't perform significantly better than the control group in terms of their English language proficiency. However, the results of this present study still supported this viewpoint that the strategy instruction had positive impacts to some extent if properly conducted, for it had positive effects on enhancing students' language learning strategy use.展开更多

The data used in this study have been collected from English writing tasks and analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS17.0). The major findings of this study are stated as follows: 1) There are significant differences in the production of the relative clauses in their English writings by Chinese higher vocational college students and English native speakers. Methods: The authors designed student questionnaires to investigate study weariness in 128 nurs-ing vocational college students. Results: Of the 128 students, 58 were tired of study, accounting for 45. 3%; 40 students often had weariness, accounting for 31. 3%; and 71 students had moderate or severe weariness, accounting for 55. 5%. Seventy-five students played on their mobile phone when they were tired of studying. Conclusions: The study weariness of vocational college students is a common phenomenon that has been developing rapidly. There are many factors that cause study weariness of professional college students. The students believe that the traditional teaching method is the main reason for study weariness. Reform of the teaching mode in a Nursing Basic Technology course effectively solved the learning problems of vocational college students. It was found that there was no significant difference in the information acquisition ability of students by gender. However, the majors of higher vocational college students have a significant impact on their information acquisition ability. It was suggested to taking comprehensive measures to improve the information acquisition ability of students in higher vocational colleges according to their characteristics.
文摘College life is the psychological conflict -prone period, and college students in vocational colleges suffer more psychological pressure than other undergraduate college students. Currently, the vocational colleges showed an increasing trend of mental health problems, which has become an important factor in hindering the healthy growth and successfully completion of their studies in college students. This article analyzed and summarized from the meaning of the concept of mental health, the performance characteristics of vocational college students' mental health problems, forming factors of mental health problems in vocational students, and put forward some education countermeasures.
文摘Objective:The purpose of this paper is to explore the application effect of diversified assessment mode in physiology experimental examination of higher vocational college students.Method:We selected 173 higher vocational college students as the research group,in the experimental assessment,adopted diversi? ed assessment model;and selected 192 higher vocational college students as the control group,adopted the traditional assessment method.The pathological examination scores of the two groups were compared,and the research group was investigated by questionnaire.Result:The physiological end term test scores (t=1.973,p〈0.05) and experimental operation assessment scores of the research group were higher than those of the control group (t=1.624,p〈0.05).The diversified assessment model helps to improve the learning initiative,improve learning interest,foster collaboration and communication ability,reduce learning pressure and reduce anxiety before examination.Conclusion:The diversified assessment model can highlight the cultivation of professional skills and innovation ability,enable students reserve the necessary knowledge through inquiry and cooperative learning,and conducive to sustainable development of students.B
文摘Learning motivation occupies an important position in non-intelligence factors,as it plays a pivotal role in university students' successful completion of their studies and strengthening of professional knowledge base.However,the present university students generally lack motivation in higher education.This research used questionnaire method,which is a questionnaire random sample in 500 students of learning motivation from four comprehensive higher vocational colleges of Tianjin,and explores the status quo of learning motivation in higher vocational students of Tianjin.The result shows:The learning motivation level of higher vocational colleges students is above middle level;Male on the learning motivation total level is significantly higher than female;Rural students in the learning motivation on the aggregate level is significantly higher than that of urban students;Look from the different grades,sophomore students have lowest level of learning motivation;Freshmen learning motivation is at highest level.
文摘Higher vocational college students are suffering foreign language anxiety in their English learning. Actually, negative cor-relation exists between foreign language anxiety and PRETCO-B scores. Foreign language anxiety debilitates English learning.It ishoped that the finding will be of value to the English teaching and learning in higher vocational colleges.
