Research on the Path to High-Quality Development of Grassroots Libraries in the Era of Artificial Intelligence in Henan

Since the age of digital intelligence,the government has introduced policies to actively promote the intelligent transformation of grassroots public cultural services.Based on the investigation and analysis of the development status quo of grassroots libraries in Henan Province,we put forward the path of high-quality development of grassroots libraries in Henan,namely,improving the mechanism and system,leading with digital intelligence technology,empowering by Yellow River culture(the heritage and values rooted in the history and traditions of the Yellow River region),and driven by users’demand.

Constructing a standard system of city sustainable development assessment technology based on the SDGs

Given the rapid development of China’s new urbanization,cities with different locations and varying functional positioning,resource endowments,and development stages have insufficient scientific and applicable technical tools for implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).City managers and policymakers must urgently establish SDG benchmarks to diagnose city development.Moreover,successful experiences from similar cities regarding sustainable development and self-improvement must be learned from to promote diversified,sustainable development across the country.Furthermore,emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence,the Internet of Things,big data and 5G are widely used in smart cities.Therefore,there is a growing need for“knowledge-based,personalized and intelligent”technologies to support monitoring,evaluation,and decision-making processes facilitating sustainable development in cities.This paper uses standardization as the theoretical support and technical basis.This approach can help clarify the sustainable development processes in China and clarify the evaluation results of and provide data on horizontal city comparisons,which can be used to develop evaluation technology for sustainable development in cities and construct a standardized system.The results provide a standard framework for intelligent assessment and decision-making regarding cities’sustainable development capabilities in China.Evaluating major international standardization institutions reveals that the practices of Chinese national standards should be fully absorbed and integrated to guide the evaluation of smart,resilient,and low-carbon cities.To this end,an indicator library of city sustainable development is proposed to provide standard evaluation technology methods.Finally,analyzing the response relationship of the indicator library to SDGs reveals the need for a standardized knowledge map of sustainable development assessment techniques and methods from the perspective of integrated management for sustainable development in cities.

Food Losses and Food Waste in the Context of Sustainable Development of the Food Sector

Globally, about one third of all food produced is wasted every year. Losses take place along the entire food chain and they need to be analyzed and monitored due to their impact on the development of the food sector. In addition to quantitative losses, irrational use of food contributes to the depletion of natural resources （water and energy） and poses a threat to the environment, constituting a barrier to sustainable development of the food sector. The aim of this study was to establish the causes and effects of food waste throughout the food supply chain and to propose mitigation measures. Identified causes of food waste can be divided into two groups. The first are those that lead to the fact that food cannot be consumed （e.g., inadequate conditions of agricultural production and interruption of the cold chain）. In the second, those that cause food cannot be sold （e.g., wrong label and wrong product weight）. Most of the identified causes of food waste can be avoided （e.g., by improving the conditions of production, storage, and transportation）. However, it is not possible to eliminate all potential errors leading to food waste. It is therefore necessary to consider what action to take to use food as intended. One way to reduce losses and food waste can be re-distributing to charity.

This paper briefly introduces the development status,background and prospect of the public librarianship in China.It contains a brief analysis of the basic situation of the public library in China at present according to the data announced by the government,and gives an explanation about China's public library orientation,working condition,service characteristics and existing problems.In addition,the author provides a detailed description of the library's present working emphasis in order to present readers with an overall view of the basic condition of China's public library development at present time.

Global Memory Net and the development of digital image information management system: Experience and practice

Global Memory Net (GMNet) is intended to be an effective gateway to the world cultural, historical, and heritage image collections from selected academic educational and research partners in the world. Much of these unique collections of great value to education and research are not currently accessible due to distance, form, and technical barriers. This project is to find new ways to enable users to access and exploit these significant research collections via global network. As GMNet is ending its first 5-year phase in October 2005, it has contributed substantially to the community building in digital library development by ac- commodating numerous collaborators and technical staff from various parts of the world to spend 3 to 5 months as a full-member of the GMNet team in Boston. They have come from different parts of China—such as Sichuan, Hainan, Shanghai and Xi’an; Croatia; and Hanoi, Vietnam. In addition to contribute to the overall system development and enhancement of system function- alities, they have brought valuable sample image collections of their own institutions/countries, and actually developed prototype collections as a part of GMNet. This paper describes the exciting and productive experience of the first of this visiting research group in developing the GMNet’s Version 2.0 PHP-based system under Prof. Chen’s overall supervision. It also describes both the system’s technical level structure—user/Web-based application/data, and complex functionalities with multi-collection, multi-lingual, multi-modal searching capabilities; system management capabilities; as well as provisions for user uploads and retrieval for our own projects. This Version 2.0 system is built on the Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL platform. What is described in this paper is an actual case which has formed a base for further new development by others in the research group. Looking for a Chinese solution to global problems:The situation and countermeasures of marine plastic waste and microplastics pollution governance system in China

As one of the top ten environmental problems to be solved in the world,marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution seriously affect the health of marine ecosystems and the sustainable development of Marine economies.It is necessary to promote the establishment of a scientific and systematic Marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution control system and take strong measures to fundamentally curb and reverse the trend of marine pollution intensification in China.This paper first explains the practical significance of marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution control from three aspects:the sustainable development of the blue economy,the structural upgrading of the pan-plastic industry,and the improvement of public health awareness.Secondly,the particularity of marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution control system is summarized from three aspects of formation mechanism,migration path and damage performance.Then,it identifies domestic and international governance strategies and action plans from the perspectives of mechanism,subject,object,and measures,summarizes existing problems in the existing marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution control system,and gives directions for future improvement.Finally,some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to accelerate the construction of China’s marine plastic waste and microplastic pollution control system,including the formation of a cross sectoral integrated land and sea control system,a full life cycle waste management process,a multi-participation model for marine ecological and environmental governance,and a global marine pollution prevention and control system.

Analysis on the Choice of Economic Development Mode for an Area with Good Ecological Environment——A Case Study of Economically Coordinated Region of Wuling Mountain

[Objective] The study aimed at choosing a suitable economic development mode for an area with good ecological environment. [Method] Taking the economically coordinated region of Wuling Mountain as an object, two economic development ways existing in the region, namely the traditional and low-carbon economic development mode, were compared from development prospects, policy support and so forth. [Result] Given the development prospects and policy support, it is necessary to choose low-carbon development mode in an area with good ecological environment. Moreover, developing clean energy industry and tourism industry, and changing traditional ideas are the main measures to develop low-carbon economy. [Conclusion] The research could provide references for the selection of economic development mode for an area with good ecological environment.

Bacteriophages and their applications in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis B virus infection

Hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection is a major global health challenge leading to serious disorders such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Currently, there exist various diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for HBV infection. However, prevalence and hazardous effects of chronic viral infection heighten the need to develop novel methodologies for the detection and treatment of this infection. Bacteriophages, viruses that specifically infect bacterial cells, with a long-established tradition in molecular biology and biotechnology have recently been introduced as novel tools for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HBV infection. Bacteriophages, due to tremendous genetic flexibility, represent potential to undergo a huge variety of surface modifications. This property has been the rationale behind introduction of phage display concept. This powerful approach, together with combinatorial chemistry, has shaped the concept of phage display libraries with diverse applications for the detection and therapy of HBV infection. This review aims to offer an insightful overview of the potential of bacteriophages in the development of helpful prophylactic(vaccine design), diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for HBV infection thereby providing new perspec-tives to the growing field of bacteriophage researches directing towards HBV infection.

Molecular Basis of Unique Branching Phenotypes in Salvia splendens and the Role of PSY

The branching system of higher plants plays a very important role in plant morphogenesis,and the number of branches can directly affect crop yield and the ornamental value of plants.It is a complicated development process involving complex molecular mechanisms.The‘Cailinghong’variety of Salvia splendens is characterized by its great branching ability with the ability to grow into a spherical form naturally,without pinching.To gain insight into the molecular events during the branching development of S.splendens,suppressive subtractive hybridization(SSH)technology was used to screen differentially expressed genes between the erect plant type(strain 35)and the spherical plant type(‘Cailinghong’).In total,96 and 116 unigenes were annotated.Four and eight unigenes up-regulated in‘Cailinghong’and strain 35,respectively,were associated with plant hormone anabolism and signal transduction,suggesting that they participate in the branching process.One of these genes,phytoene synthase(PSY),is a precursor of the new plant hormone group strigolactones.Using the PSY fragment(192 bp)as a template,the cDNA sequence of PSY in S.splendens was cloned and named SsPSY.A relative expression analysis and transgenic test results indicated that SsPSY plays an important role in lateral branch development in‘Cailinghong’.These results provide new insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying branching in S.splendens.

Development of Physical Library for Short Channel CMOS / SOI Integrated Circuits

An 'Integrated Device and Circuit simulator' for thin film (0.05-0.2μm) submicron (0.5μm) and deep submicron (0.15, 0.25,0.35μm) CMOS/ SOI integrated circuit has been developed. This simulator has been used for design and fabrication and physical library development of thin film submicron and deep submicron CMOS/ SOI integrated circuit.

The Agile methods have become the norm in the software development industry to defeat the shortcomings of the Waterfall model(McGregor&Doshi,2018).It promotes an empirical and iterative way of working that empowers the teams to be more self-organized and work closer to their users.As worldwide companies are more and more experienced in using Agile,studies show that the most prevalent advantages generated by this way of working are:increased productivity,improved customer collaboration,better predictability,fewer technical errors,and higher team motivation(Version One,2019).The author’s comprehensive studies about the Agile way of working helped her identify a list of essential practices that teams should apply to reach each one of the mentioned benefits.While Agile is more widespread in specific places in the world,there are still counties that are not that mature in applying it.The purpose of this paper is to present the level of adoption of the most common Agile practices in Romania and their potential benefits.The study focuses on the software development industry,and it is based on the results of a survey with 200 respondents coming from different IT companies.
