The microstructures were examined by optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope (EDS). Two types of alloys were prepared by vacuum arc melting. One is Fe-28Al based alloys (D03 structured) with and without alloying elements such as Mo and Zr. The other one is Fe-35Al based alloys (B2 structured) produced with the same manner. For both types of alloys, Mo addition had found to exhibit an equiaxed microstructure, while dendritic structure was observed to show the effect of Zr addition. These microstructural features were more evinced with increasing content of alloying element. Concerning the mechanical properties and wear resistance, Fe-35Al based alloys were superior to Fe-28Al based alloys over the whole temperature range investigated.展开更多

The results show that when quenched at 900-920℃ and tempered at 350-370℃, the MLAWS has achieved hardness above 60 HRC, tensile strength greater than 1 600 MPa, impact toughness higher than 18J/cm2 and fracture toughness greater than 37 MPa·m1/2. When the quenching temperature is lower than 900℃, the hardness of the MLAWS increases with the temperature. When the quenching temperature is higher than 900℃, the hardness decreases with the increase of temperature. At a quenching temperature below 920℃, the effect of quenching temperature on the impact toughness is not obvious. In quenching at above 920℃, impact toughness decreases as the temperature increases. The results show that with 0.55% Si, the microstructure of the alloy can be refined effectively, which leads to the increase of hardness. But the tensile strength and elongation decrease because Si undermines the integrity of the matrix. On the other hand, the dendrites are transformed into a desired α+η+(α+η)mixture with T6 heat treatment, which introduces a remarkable increase to the elongation and hardness of the alloy. The wear resistance of the ZA27 alloy with Si alloying is significantly better than that of the ZA27 alloy without Si. With the increase of Si addition, the wear resistance of the alloy firstly increases and then decreases. In the alloy without Si alloying, severe plastic deformation and large delamination were observed on the worn surface of the alloy. However, with the increase of Si, the main wear mechanism transformed to abrasive wear gradually. In addition, the T6 treatment can further improve the wear resistance of the alloy with Si alloying.展开更多

Mechanical properties and wear resistance of the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composites were individually investigated. It was found that TiC particles homogenously distributed in the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composite after being sintered at 1373 K for 15 min. Meanwhile, grain refinement was observed in the as-sintered composite. Compared with the pure Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10 medium entropy alloy (MEA) matrix grain, addition of 10% TiC particles resulted in an increase in the compressive strength from 1.571 to 2.174 GPa, and the hardness from HV 320 to HV 872. Wear resistance results demonstrated that the friction coefficient, wear depth and width of the composite decreased in comparison with the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10 MEA matrix. Excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance could offer the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composite a very promising candidate for engineering applications.展开更多

In addition, the T6 treatment can further improve the wear resistance of the alloy with Si alloying.

文摘The Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC (volume fraction of TiC, 10%) composites were synthesized in combination of ball milling and spark plasma sintering (SPS) in the present work. Excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance could offer the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composite a very promising candidate for engineering applications.

文摘In order to improve the fire resistance, water resistance and wear resistance of ordinary plywood products in the wood processing industry, three composite structures of plywood products S1,S2 and S3 were designed in this paper, and a reasonable production process was proposed.Through the physical and mechanical properties and fire resistance testing and technical and economic analysis, the applicability of composite plywood was evaluated. The results of the study showed that the physical mechanics of the three kinds of composite structure plywood met the standard requirements, and their fire resistance was far better than that of ordinary plywood.Among them, the S1 structural board had the best overall physical and mechanical properties. The S3 structural board showed the best fire resistance, which was about 1.9 times more than that of ordinary plywood, and the added cost was the lowest. The thin cork board added to the S2 structural board had poor fire performance since the air in the cork board cavities had a certain combustion-supporting effect, which inhibited the fire resistance of high-pressure laminate(HPL)layer. Moreover, the additional cost of the S2 board was the highest, and its comprehensive performance was the worst. The S3 structural plywood product composed of HPL fireproof board with a thickness of about 1 mm in the surface layer and ordinary plywood with a thickness of about 12 mm in the core layer was the most cost-effective product, which could meet the needs of various fields such as construction, home furnishing, decoration and transportation.

文摘The mechanical properties and wear resistance of the ultrafine bainitic steel austempered at various temperatures were investigated.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze the microstructure. The worn surfaces were observed via laser scanning confocal microscopy and SEM.Results indicated that, under low austempering temperatures, the mechanical properties differed, and the wear resistance remained basically unchanged. The tensile strength of the samples was above 1800 MPa,but only one sample austempered at 230°C had an elongation of more than 10%.The weight loss of samples was approximately linear with the cycles of wear and nonlinear with the loads. The samples showed little difference in wear resistance at different isothermal temperatures, whereas the thickness of their deformed layers varied greatly. The results are related to the initial hardness of the sample and the stability of the retained austenite.Meanwhile, the experimental results showed that the effect of austempering temperature on the wear resistance of ultrafine bainitic steel can be neglected under low applied loads and low austempering temperature.

文摘The toughness of 31Mn2SiRE wear-resistance cast steel were increased by means of RE compound modification and high temperature austenitizing. The results show that the microstructures can be refined, needle and network ferrite are eliminated, the dislocation density and the quantity of dislocated martensite are increased remarkably, and the shape and distribution of inclusions are improved by the addition of RE. Therefore, the mechanical properties of the modified steel can be greatly increased, especially the toughness (αK) by 44%, yield strength (σs) by 10%, and elongation (δ5) by 42%.

文摘The compromise between strength and plasticity has greatly limited the potential application of particles reinforced magnesium matrix composites(MMCs).In this work, the Ti particles reinforced AZ31 magnesium(Mg)matrix composites achieved simultaneous improvement in strength, elongation and wear resistance. The Ti particles reinforced AZ31 composites were fabricated by ultrasonic-assisted stir casting with hot extrusion. The results showed that a strong interfacial bonding was obtained at Ti/Mg interface because of the formation of semicoherent orientation relationship of Ti Al/Mg,Ti Al/Al_(2)Ti and Al_(2)Ti/Mg interfaces. The as-extruded 6 wt.%Ti/AZ31 composite presented the best compressive mechanical properties and wear resistance with ultimate tensile strength, elongation and wear rate of 327 MPa,20.4%and 9.026×10^(-3)mm^(3)/m,obviously higher than those of AZ31 alloys. The enhanced mechanical properties were attributed to the grain refinement and strong interfacial bonding. The improved wear resistance was closely related to the increased hardness of composites and the formation of protective oxidation films.
