Circular design encompasses the use of inventive construction methodologies that possess the capability to be readily dismantled, repurposed,or recycled upon reaching the conclusion of their functional lifespan. This work specifically examines the creation of a reusable design case-study idea for seismic frame design, which is commonly employed in steel-frame constructions in New Zealand.A reusable optimized design for the full seismic frame was proposed in the research.Optimizing the dimensions of welded structures, whether in terms of weight or cost, leads to a decrease in the weight of the steel utilized. The decrease in weight is directly associated with a decrease in environ-mental impact,as the environmental impact is directly proportional to the mass of the construction. The environmental consequences associated with welding technique are contingent upon the dimensions of the weld, hence exerting an indirect influence on the overall mass of the structure.Given the presence of mass dependence in all three areas, albeit in distinct manners, this work employed a multi-objective function optimization strategy to simultaneously address these areas while also partially evaluating them separately. On this way substantial reductions can be achieved both at structural mass and environmental effects. 展开更多

An experimental investigation on the seismic behavior of a type of outrigger truss-reinforced concrete wall shear connection using multiple steel angles is presented. Six large-scale shear connection models, which involved a portion of reinforced concrete wall and a shear tab welded onto a steel endplate with three steel angles, were constructed and tested under combined actions of cyclic axial load and eccentric shear. The effects of embedment lengths of steel angles, wall boundary elements, types of anchor plates, and thicknesses of endplates were investigated. The test results indicate that properly detailed connections exhibit desirable seismic behavior and fail due to the ductile fracture of steel angles. Wall boundary elements provide beneficial confinement to the concrete surrounding steel angles and thus increase the strength and stiffness of connections. Connections using whole anchor plates are prone to suffer concrete pry-out failure while connections with thin endplates have a relatively low strength and fail due to large inelastic deformations of the endplates. The current design equations proposed by Chinese Standard 04G362 and Code GB50011 significantly underestimate the capacities of the connection models. A revised design method to account for the influence of previously mentioned test parameters was developed. 展开更多

Cable-type welding wire(CWW)CO2 welding is an innovative process arc welding with high quality, high efficiency and energy saving,in which CWW is used as consumable electrode. The CWW is composed of seven wires with a diameter of 1.2mm.One is in the center, while others uniformly distribute around it.The diameter of twisted wire is up to 3.6mm,which can increase the deposition rate significantly. With continual wire-feeding and melting of CWW,the formed rotating arc improved welding quality obviously. The arc behavior and droplet transfer were observed by the electrical signal waveforms and corresponding synchronous images, based on the high speed digital camera and electrical signal system. The results showed that the shape of welding arc changed from bell arc to beam arc with the increase of welding parameter. The droplet transfer mode changed from repelled transfer, globular transfer to projected transfer in turn.Droplet transfer frequency increased from 18.17 Hz to 119.05 Hz,while the droplet diameter decreased from 1.5times to 0.3times of the CWW diameter. 展开更多
