Examining the Current State of Reflective Teaching Practices Among Newly Appointed Primary School Teachers

This study focused on three newly appointed primary school teachers in City D as research subjects.Utilizing research methods such as interviews,text analysis,and observation,the findings revealed that these teachers exhibited a substantial grasp of teaching reflection.The predominant emphasis in their teaching reflection levels was observed at the technical reasonable reflection and practical action reflection stages.To enhance the reflection levels of these novice teachers,it is recommended to foster their professional ethics,institute a diverse training system,and enhance the school’s infrastructure and institutional support systems.

Examining the Burden Reduction Policy for Primary and Secondary School Teachers in China:A Framework Analysis Centered on the Rational Selection of Institutional Doctrine

The“burden reduction”policy aims to reduce the workload of primary and secondary school teachers to alleviate their burdens.While it has improved the quality of teachers,implementation challenges still exist.This study utilizes rational choice institutionalism and Ostrom’s institutional analysis and development framework to examine the policy.By considering the preferences of the Ministry of Education,local governments,schools,and teachers,it explores interactions and outcomes,identifies challenges,and provides policy suggestions.

Primary and secondary school mental health teachers in professional identity of intervention programs

To explore the impact of teacher training on the professional identity of primary and secondary school mental health teachers, this study conducted a half-month professional development training program to 54 primary and secondary school mental health teachers, and performed measurement on the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group and the control group with “Teachers’ Professional Identity Questionnaire”. The result shows that after the training there is a significant improvement in the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group, and the teachers’ scores on the four dimensions of profession identity: the sense of role, the professional behavioral tendency, the occupational values, and the sense of belonging, all increased significantly. This indicates that the curriculum intervention for the primary and secondary school mental health teachers could effectively improve the teachers’ professional identity.

Relationship of Workaholism with Stress and Job Burnout of Elementary School Teachers

Teachers voluntarily devote a lot of time to their vocational activates. This can lead to workaholism and may result in stress and job burnout. The main objective of the current study is to examine the relationship of workaholism with stress and job burnout of elementary school teachers in Zahedan. This is a descriptive-correlational study. The sample includes 350 elementary school teachers in Zahedan whom are selected through applying stratified random sampling method and are examined using questionnaires on workaholism, occupational stress, and job burnout. To analyze the obtained data, correlation coefficient and simultaneous multiple regression analysis are applied using SPSS21. Teachers’ mean scores on workaholism, stress and job burnout are higher than the considered theoretical mean. Workaholism and its components (feeling of being driven to work, work involvement, and work enjoyment) are significantly and positively related to job burnout and occupational stress (p ). The results of simultaneous multiple regression analysis indicate that components of workaholism can predict teachers’ occupational stress and job burnout (p ). Considering the results, holding training courses for teachers to become familiar with the phenomena of workaholism, stress, and job burnout, individual and organizational outcomes, methods of dealing with them and managing them effectively is highly recommended.

Creating the Role of Rural Teachers as New Rural Sages under the Background of Rural Revitalization Based on Organizational Change and Planned Happenstance Theories

In the context of rural revitalization,people are re-examining the issue of creating the role of teachers as“new rural sages”.However,most of previous studies ignored the school organizational change in the process of reform.The planned happenstance suggests that teachers should maintain a positive mindset about the eventualities in their careers.Based on the organizational change theory,this paper gave some advice to help teachers in playing a role of new rural sages:①rooting in local culture and enhancing teachers’sense of belonging,②providing compensation for teachers in a targeted way,and③providing a comprehensive and objective evaluation mechanism for ensuring teachers’participation in social governance.

Impact of Gender and Working Environment on the Level of State Anxiety among Primary and Middle school Teachers in China

State anxiety has become serious among primary and middle school teachers in China. By using stratified random sampling, we selected 2790 primary and middle school teachers as participants. They were from seven regions of China, among them 2278 were valid subjects. Constructed on the basis of anxiety content, the Teachers’ State Anxiety Questionnaire (TSAQ) was used in the investigation. The result of the survey shows that primary and middle school teachers are generally affected by state anxiety;further analysis indicates that the prevalence of state anxiety is relatively higher among male teachers, teachers from key middle schools, teachers working more than 10 hours a day, and teachers loaded with additional task as head teachers. This is directly connected with China’s national situation, teaching envi-ronment, discrepancies in teachers themselves, and their own ability of self-regulation.

Lipid and Diabetic Profiles of School Teachers in Afghanistan Facing Food Insecurity and Their Association with Knowledge Relating to Healthy Lifestyle

Objectives: To investigate lipid and diabetic profiles of school teachers in Kabul, Afghanistan, who face food insecurity, and examine the association of those with the teachers’ knowledge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Methods: A survey to examine biochemical indicators of NCDs (triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference), food insecurity, lifestyle and knowledge of NCDs was conducted among 600 school teachers. Analyses were made of biochemical indicators of NCDs, blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, obesity, and subject’s lifestyle in relation to food security and the subject’s knowledge of NCDs. Results: Thirty-nine percent of school teachers experienced food insecurity. The percentage of TC ≥ 200 mg/dL;HbA1c ≥ 5.5%;hypertension and metabolic syndrome were 20.2%, 29.7%, 32.2% and 33.7%, respectively. Food insecurity was associated with lower fruit and vegetable consumption and higher potato consumption. Food insecurity was associated with increased TC (AOR 2.03;95%CI: 1.23 - 3.34), decreased HDL (AOR 1.70;95%CI: 1.12 - 2.58), increased HbA1c (AOR 1.73;95%CI: 1.14 - 2.64), hypertension (AOR 1.68;95%CI: 1.01 - 2.80) and diagnosis of metabolic syndrome (AOR 1.78;95%CI: 1.18 - 2.68), after adjustment by demographic, socioeconomic and lifestyle variables. Among people living under condition of food insecurity, greater NCD knowledge was associated with smaller prevalence of TG ≥ 150 mg/dL, HDL Conclusions: Under conditions of food insecurity, diets have less variety and individuals are more likely to exhibit biomedical risk factors of NCDs. Even under conditions of food insecurity, people with knowledge of NCDs may have better coping strategies for their choice of lifestyles and exhibited a lower percentage of risk factors of NCDs.

A pilot study evaluating the factors associated with psychological distress of school teachers in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan

Objective: We investigated the psychological distress of school teachers using a 6-item instrument (the K6) in Kagawa prefecture, Japan. Methods: A total of 670 school teachers (328 men and 342 women) were analyzed in this cross-sectional investigation study. The association between psychological distress and clinical factors was evaluated by using the K6 instrument, with psychological distress defined as 13 or more points out of a total of 24 points. Results: A total of 55 teachers (8.2%) were classified as having psychological distress. No significant relationships between the K6 score and sex, age, duration of experience as a teacher, school grade and title were noted. The K6 score in teachers with consciousness of suicide among students was higher than that without, but not at a significant level. Conclusion: Some teachers were defined as having psychological distress in Kagawa prefecture, Japan. However, no relevant effects of basic characteristics such as age and sex on psychological distress were recognized.

Evaluation of Nutrition and Physical Activity Knowledge, Attitudes, Self Efficacy and Behaviors in Teachers and Children after Implementation of the “Healthy Active Kids” Online Program in Australian Elementary Schools

The aims were to examine change in nutrition and physical activity knowledge, self efficacy and attitudes in a cohort of 23 teachers and 304 year 5 and 6 children after the “Healthy Active Kids” online program and to assess any behavioral change in children’s self reported nutrition and physical activity behaviors and investigate the predictors of nutrition knowledge gain in teachers and children. Results found significant (p < 0.0001) increases in teacher and student knowledge of the five food groups;key nutrients provided by each food group, The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating;food labelling laws, identification of common names for fats, sugars and salts on food labels, food proportions on the Healthy Food Plate and the level and percentage of water in the human body and human brain. Teacher attitudes towards the importance of nutrition and diet and self efficacy related to teaching nutrition in class improved (p < 0.01). The final regression model for predictors of the dependent variable, knowledge gain in students was R = 0.53, Adjusted R square = 0.28 (F = 4.76, p < 0.01) indicating that 28% of the variation in knowledge gain was predicted by the negative (low) Time 1 knowledge. Changes to eating habits reported by children were “drinking more water each day” (89.1%) and “eating foods from the five food groups each day” (76.2%);“sharing information about food labels with your family” (52.4%);“reading food labels when you go shopping” (50.0%);“changing what is on your dinner plate each night” (44.2%);“vegetables that you eat now that you didn’t eat before” (42.1%) and “fruits that you eat now” (39%). Results suggest that the development of basic nutrition knowledge is still very important for both teachers and students, but that other factors such as self efficacy, empowerment and skill development also contribute to nutrition behavior change in children.

Preparedness for handling injuries by female primary school teachers: A cross-sectional survey in Southwestern Saudi Arabia

Objective:To assess the preparedness for handling injuries by female primary school teachers based on their knowledge,attitude,practice and their willingness to learn first aid.Methods:A cross-sectional questionnaire on first aid was provided to female primary school teachers,and the knowledge,attitude,practice and their willingness to learn first aid were investigated.Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23.Quantitative data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA,categorical variables were analyzed by the Chi-square test.The level of significance was set at P<0.05.Results:In total,464 teachers of different age groups and education responded.The mean knowledge score was low but the mean attitude score was high.Parental consent was sought by one-fourth of the teachers,and 25.6%of teachers documented the health status of children.Most of the teachers desired to have a first aider,and they were keen on training(62.3%)and educating children(88.1%)on first aid.Knowledge scores were significantly impacted by age(P<0.05)and experience(P<0.01),while specialization impacted mean practice scores(P<0.001).Teachers'qualification(P<0.05),first action to be taken at the accident site(P<0.05),and frequency of training(P<0.05),were significantly associated with the need of a first aider.Conclusions:Based on the paucity of awareness and expertise,on priority basis,it is important to strengthen teachers'skills.Child safety is an important public health issue and can be improved by educating and training teachers.

Knowledge of Cervical Cancer and Practice of Pap Smear Testing among Secondary School Teachers in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, South Eastern Nigeria

Introduction: Cervical cancer is one of the commonest cancers of the female genital tract and accounts for about a hundred and ninety thousand deaths each year, most of which occur in developing countries. Early cervical screening methods have contributed to the fall of cervical cancer deaths in the developed world. This is different in developing countries where people have limited knowledge about this disease condition and the screening methods for prevention. This study determined the knowledge and practice of cervical cancer screening among female secondary school teachers in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Method: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study in which self-administered questionnaires were returned by 142 respondents and results were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 17. Results: The mean age of the respondents was 35.6 ± 1.76 years. A high proportion of the respondents were aware of cervical cancer 106 (74.6%). About 44 (41.5%) knew of cervical cancer screening by Pap smear, out of which only 20.5% had done a pap smear. The most common reasons given for not doing the test were;not deeming the test necessary, not knowing where the test could be done and feeling of not being at risk of developing cervical cancer. Conclusion/Recommendation: Though the level of awareness of cervical cancer screening was high, the level of uptake of Pap smear was still very low. A national cervical cancer Pap smear campaign should be intensified to change the negative perception towards Pap smear test.

Views of Parents and Teachers on Ways to Improve the Primary School’s Response to Children with Chronic Diseases

Many children with chronic diseases attend regular classes in public elementary schools,and their various needs are becoming a great challenge for the school and the educational system.Parents and teachers have the care giving responsibility for these children,but they do not always have the support or the means to meet those needs.Therefore,the school faces significant difficulties in responding to the challenge of attending to students with chronic diseases.This study’s purpose is to assess,through an exploratory approach,the opinions of parents and teachers regarding what they consider to be the basic needs of the school to improve its response to the challenge of chronic diseases.Our methodology is qualitative,and we conducted interviews with 28 parents and teachers during the school year 2019-2020.We analyzed our data by applying the Thematic Content Analysis method.According to our findings,parents and teachers believe that if the teachers receive proper training on chronic diseases and specialists are integrated into schools,the response to the challenge will improve dramatically.

Towards a New Model of Teacher Training in Europe

The current situation of European educational systems leads to the lack of historical precedents,considering that it implies the end of educational systems based on exclusion,configuring a new conception of educational systems that we are still not able to appreciate at their true value,because we were educated by and in the previous educational system.Lacking other references,we inevitably tend to compare current problems with previous situations,without understanding that the generalization of education to 100%of the population implies a qualitative change that modifies the objectives,forms of work,and the very essence of the educational system.This stage change,marked by the acceleration of social changes,including the pandemic situation,explains why,despite the best educational system so far,teachers with the best levels of training and a financial and material endowment unimaginable until recently,try a sense of crisis and a general feeling of confusion is manifested among the teachers and parents of the children,seeing that education is no longer what it used to be(Esteve,1998).The key to defuse this apparent paradox is in the tendency to judge the new education system by the mentality and standards of the former selective education,in which most of the adults present were educated.Thus,although we continue to apply to the new general education situation the parameters of the previous situation,in which the selective system excluded every year the students who had behavior problems in the class or had difficulties regarding the mastery of certain educational subjects(Esteve,1998).In this way,we are currently criticizing the school failure of a percentage of our students,without realizing that their schooling itself is a success,because,although their level is low,they had no level before.One speaks of a low educational level,when,in reality,the educational level is increasing—the general level of the people and the individual level of the best students(Baudelot&Establet,1990).Indeed,it is true that in our education systems there are students with a very low educational level,although even so,it is a success that they have some education because they used to be on the streets;and,in any case,the current education system produces a higher percentage of students with higher levels than the best students of the 90s.The main element of change,the most substantial transformation,is the elimination of exclusion,today having access to secondary education,alongside students with an excellent level.Thousands of children who were previously expelled from it,thus comply with the European measures of access to education for all children and young people.The previous educational system can be compared to a hospital from which the sickest were kicked out,and those who created behavioral problems were eliminated through the selective mechanisms of the system.However,teaching today is qualitatively different from what it was 20-30 years ago.First of all,because working with a homogeneous group of children as a result of the selection or dealing with all the children in a country,with social and personal problems,is not the same thing.That is why many general education teachers are social workers rather than teachers;and the new configuration of our educational systems requires secondary teachers to assume diverse educational roles rather than the traditional one of intellectual training.History cannot go backwards;to have better quality educational systems,the solution is not to return to the exclusionary system.Society asks teachers to make an effort to integrate;but,during this time,our society must support and revalue the activity of teachers in order not to put them in front of impossible tasks.The transition from a selective to a general education was based on the increase/amplification of compulsory schooling.For the first time in history,European educational systems have assumed the role of declaring secondary education compulsory.This decision implies a new stage,a definitive break from the previous reality in which secondary education was reserved for those who later attend a university.

Analysis of English Teachers＇ Professional Development in Rural Primary Schools Taking the Surrounding Areas in Linyi as an Example

This thesis tries to explore the problems of the rural English teachers＇ professional development and aims to give some hints on teachers＇ professional development and future teacher training. This thesis makes a survey to 20 rural English teachers from 10 primary schools in the surrounding areas of Linyi City. The survey mainly focuses on the following four aspects： basic situation of the teachers, knowledge of English language and teaching skills, teachers＇ motivation, and self-analysis of their development. With an analysis of the results of the investigation, the author wants to evoke teachers＇ and researchers＇ awareness for improving English language teachers＇ professional development in rural primary schools

The Integration Strategy of Class Teacher Management and Mathematics Teaching

A Study on the Professional Development Strategies of English Teachers in Rural Primary and Secondary Schools

In the new round of development, the government should not only focus on the development of large enterprises, but also on small enterprises that can grow explosively. According to the growth characteristics of unicorn enterprises, the "Guidelines for the Cultivation of High-Growth Enterprises" should be formulated at the provincial level. On the basis of the clear definition of highgrowth enterprises, the classification criteria are defined. A set of government support mechanisms for enterprise selection, approval and support should be established. In addition, a set of positive support policies should be adopted for different types of enterprises in land use, financing, taxation, technology, talent recruitment and other aspects.

Empirical Research on Current Construction Situation of Primary and Middle School Teachers in New Era

Teachers are the top priority to develop the education.The thesis,first of all,has structured the index system of current teachers’construction situation in the new era.Then,the thesis has adopted the independent sample test and analysis of variance to analyze the difference of current teachers’construction situation in different dimensions on the basis of questionnaire data collected from teachers in five provinces and cities in the new era.Finally,the thesis has given some suggestions on improving teachers’situation in the new era from four aspects such as the improvement of the treatment guarantee mechanism for primary and middle school teachers,the operation of the cooperation mechanism among colleges,government and primary and middle school in cultivating students,the formation of training system on teachers’personal growth process and the establishment of the evaluation standard of teachers’titles as well as the standard evaluation procedure of professional titles.

The Composition and Promotion Strategy of Teachers'Curriculum Development Ability in Secondary Vocational Schools

The curriculum development ability of secondary vocational school teachers is a necessary professional ability for teachers.It has important practical significance and practical value for promoting secondary vocational education curriculum and teaching reform.On the basis of analyzing the connotation and composition of curriculum development ability of teachers in secondary vocational schools,this article proposes three strategies to improve the curriculum development ability of teachers in secondary vocational schools.

Relationship Between Work Stress and Mental Health of Middle School Teachers in Guangzhou

This study mainly discusses the relationship between middle school teachers’mental health and work stress in Guangzhou.This study uses questionnaire survey method to examine 237 teachers in Guangzhou,and adopts SPSS26.0 to conduct independent sample t-test,ANOVA,correlation analysis,and regression analysis to draw the conclusion.The results show that:(1)The work pressure of middle school teachers in Guangzhou is above the medium level,and their mental health is at the middle level.(2)Under the influence of different gender,position,age,teaching years,and teaching objects,the pressure of middle school teachers is different.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between teachers’work stress and the dimensions of self-confidence loss and social dysfunction of mental health.(4)Work stress can effectively predict the level of mental health.Therefore,we need to understand the pressure sources of middle school teachers to develop measures to alleviate the pressure of teachers and improve the mental health of middle school teachers.

On the Relationship Between Primary School English Teachers’Personality and the Teaching Effect

Studies have shown that teachers’personality will have a direct impact on students’serious study,emotional attitude,and personality(Liu,2006).Due to the different personalities of teachers,the effect of their education and teaching work will inevitably bring differences.Therefore,school management needs to consider the problem of adjusting measures to individual conditions.This paper will analyze the influence of teachers with different personality characteristics on teaching effect and reasons and significance of individualized teaching in primary school.
