Primary yolk sac tumor in the abdominal wall in a 20-year-old woman:A case report

BACKGROUND Extragonadal yolk sac tumors(YSTs)are rare,with only a low reported tumor occurrence outside the gonads locally and abroad.Extragonadal YSTs are usually a diagnostic challenge,because they are infrequent,but also because a thoughtful and detailed differential diagnostic process must be performed.CASE SUMMARY Here we present a case of an abdominal wall YST in a 20-year-old woman admitted with a tumor in the lower abdomen close to the umbilicus.The tumorectomy was performed.The histological examination revealed characteristic findings such as Schiller-Duval bodies,loose reticular structures,papillary structures,and eosinophilic globules.According to the immunohistochemical staining,the tumor tissue was positive for broad-spectrum cytokeratin,Spalt-like transcription factor 4,glypican-3,CD117,and epithelial membrane antigen.Based on the clinical information,histological features,and immunohistochemical staining profile,the tumor was diagnosed as a YST present in the abdominal wall.CONCLUSION Based on the clinical information,histological features,and immunohistochemical staining profile described above,the tumor was diagnosed as a primary YST in the abdominal wall.

Lament of a Northwestern Woman(Qin Fu Yin),composed by Wei Zhuang after the Huangchao uprising,is a long poem that showcases the sufferings of the civilians and embodies the people’s character of the poem,which is the profound empathy and compassion of the poet towards the civilians’plight.The poem was written during the reign of Emperor Xizong of the Tang Dynasty in the year Gengmao(883 AD).2023 is also the year Gengmao,so this poem has existed for a remarkable 1140 years.For over a millennium,this long poem remained submerged in history until the opening of the Dunhuang Grottoes at the turn of the 20th century.The deep compassion and commiseration towards the underprivileged masses conveyed in this long poem are reminiscent of Du Fu’s renowned“Three Poems of Separation.”Moreover,it is widely believed that this poem foretells the decline of the Tang Dynasty.

An Analysis of Ecowomanism in The Color Purple

The Color Purple is a well known work of Alice Walker, which describes black women living in the bottom of that society and a course of them keep fighting for realizing spiritual liberation and personality independence, as well as equality in politics and race. Liver cirrhosis and splenomegaly associated with Schistosoma mansoni in a Sudanese woman in Malaysia:A case report

We report a case of a patient with Schistosoma mansoni infection who presented with liver cirrhosis and splenomegaly.She was diagnosed by a serological test and Kato-Katz thick smear stool examination.The patient was a 52-year-old woman from Sudan who came to Malaysia for a week to visit her sons.The patient lives in the middle of Rabak region,Sudan,a highly endemic area for schistosomiasis where her daily routine includes rearing of cows and farming.The site of toilet and sources of drinking water are canals and wells;both infested with snails.Patient had a long history of exposure and coming into contact with water from these canals and wells.

Ureteral Ewing’s sarcoma in an elderly woman: A case report

BACKGROUND Ewing’s sarcoma(ES)is regarded as a skeletal tumor,with few instances of extraskeletal ES.A primary ES in the ureter is extremely rare.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 69-year-old woman who presented with intermittent flank pain and hematuria and was found to have a mass in the left ureter.Pathology of the excised mass indicated ES.The clinical treatment and pathologic characteristics in this case,and a review of the literature describing ES in the urinary system,are presented.CONCLUSION Due to the rarity and malignancy of ES in ureter,early diagnosis and prompt surgical treatment are critical.
