It is also proved that the solutions are composed of six groups of basic solutions up to five solution transformations. An opinion poll for the establishment of a bioethanol plant utilizing local resou...The cultivation of sweet sorghum （sorghum bicolor） is still one of the new promising energy crops for bioethanol production nowadays. An opinion poll for the establishment of a bioethanol plant utilizing local resources such as the cultivation of sweet sorghum and the zeolite deposits was held. Data were collected by heads of selected households of the Municipality of Trigono （Evros, Greece）. The simple random sampling was applied and a face-to-face interviewing and filling in of the forms of a questionnaire was conducted. It was estimated that some 44,778-55,971 acres of land should be cultivated with sweet sorghum for a satisfactory production of bioethanol in a bioethanol plant in the order of 120,000-150,000 tons/year. Furthermore, in this paper an optimum solution was estimated by using of the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox of Matlab （Intelligent system） which is formulated as follows ＂the bioethanol plant absorbing the sweet sorghum＇s production of a cultivating area of 46,600 acres and operating 12 hours/day would produce 125,000 tons of bioethanol annually＂. Such a vast area of land would offer occupation to a significant number of young farmers for the cultivation of sweet sorghum.展开更多
The Valab project (Integrated Ecosystemic value-enhancement of the Guadeloupean Forest Agrobiodiversity) is a participatory action research that aims to explore the feasibility of diversification activities within the...The Valab project (Integrated Ecosystemic value-enhancement of the Guadeloupean Forest Agrobiodiversity) is a participatory action research that aims to explore the feasibility of diversification activities within the forest understorey. In the exploratory phase of the project, we studied stakeholders’ opinions on the positive and negative impacts of introducing livestock activities within a forest environment, as well as breeders’ constraints or motivations for setting up livestock units within agroforestry systems in the private forests of Guadeloupe. To establish a diagnosis of the current situation, 51 stakeholders (St) and 49 farmers (Fr) were interviewed on their perceptions, opinions, motivations and preferences. Forty-one percent of the St has had a generally positive appreciation of livestock activities, while on the opposite 31% have had a resolutely negative posture depending on their area of expertise. Their views on the possible positive effects or negative interactions between livestock and agroforestry activities were analysed in order to suggest possible approaches for the authorities or associations. Unanimously, the farmers replied that their motivations followed economic strategies: for self-consumption or sale. But their decision-making processes were also non-economic. Many of them (36% Fr) gave importance to their activity in the construction of their identity, whether it was through a desire to perpetuate traditions or to maintain family activities. The main constraints identified were natural constraints (61% Fr), including topography, climate and predators. While 28% of Fr notified their motivations for environmental protection. Another constraint was of a technical nature (44% Fr) since farmers asked for more technical references or support services. Further researches are required to study the interactions between animals and the undergrowth by describing their respective ecosystem services in order to enhance their positive interactions.展开更多

Both are devoted to expound all the comprehensive properties of Cauchy＇s function f（z） （z = x ＋ iy） and its integral J[f（z）]≡（2πi）-∮cf（t）（t-z）-1dt taken along the unit circle as contour C,inside which（the open domain D＋） f（z） is regular but has singularities distributed in open domain Doutside C. Resolution is given to the inverse problem that the singularities of f（z） can be determined in analytical form in terms of the values f（t） of f（z） numerically prescribed on C（｜t｜ = 1） ,as so enunciated by Wu＇s conjecture. The case of a single singularity is solved using complex algebra and analysis to acquire the solution structure for a standard reference. Multiple singularities are resolved by reducing them to a single one by elimination in principle,for which purpose a general asymptotic method is developed here for resolution to the conjecture by induction,and essential singularities are treated with employing the generalized Hilbert transforms. These new methods are applicable to relevant problems in mathematics,engineering and technology in analogy with resolving the inverse problem presented here.展开更多

In Skopos theory, translation is considered to be a purposeful communicative action, and the specific translation purpose determines the whole translational action. Functionally adequate means that the translation should be adequate to the requirements of the translation and it works as the criterion of translation. Skopos theory enables translators to select appropriate translation strategies according to their own purposes, so as to effectively solve the dilemma in the translation process whether faithfully display the form of source text or flexibly retain the sense of the source text. The Great Gatsby is the masterpiece of the American writer Fitzgerald, F. S.. He not only depicted the intoxicating atmosphere of the unprecedented prosperity in American history after the First World War with vivid images and cheerful rhythms but also described the sorrows about the disillusionment of the ＂American Dream＂ after the war. This paper takes the Skopos of German functionalism as a point to analyze The Great Gatsby translated by Wu Ningkun from the perspective of skopos theory. Through the analysis of the specific translation of the selected paragraphs, I conclude Wu＇s translation strategies from lexical aspect, syntactic aspect and discourse aspect. In Wu＇s version he kept the styles, rhythms, and American thoughts of the source text by foreignization. His skopos is to offer an opportunity to broaden the horizon of readers who are hunger for new ideas and knowledge at that time therefor it is rather necessary to absorb the ＂exotic elements＂ in the his translations.展开更多

In the present study high-school pupils’, and adult students’ opinions were evaluated through a mo...E-learning platforms support education systems worldwide, transferring theoretical knowledge as well as soft skills. In the present study high-school pupils’, and adult students’ opinions were evaluated through a modern structured MOODLE interactive course, designed for the needs of the laboratory course “Automotive Systems”. The study concerns Greek secondary vocational education pupils aged 18 and vocational training adult students aged 20 to 50 years. The multistage, equal size simple random cluster sample was used as a sampling method. Pupils and adult students of each cluster completed structured 10-question questionnaires both before and after attending the course. A total of 120 questionnaires were collected. In general, our findings disclosed that the majority of pupils and adult students had significantly improved their knowledge and skills from using MOODLE. They reported strengthening conventional teaching, using the new MOODLE technology. The satisfaction indices improved quite, with the differences in their mean values being statistically significant.展开更多
