A multiple instantaneous uniform stretching model is proposed in this paper to simulate the formation of the basins as the rifting process cannot be accurately described by a simple (one episode) stretching model. The study shows that the multiphase stretching model, combined with the back-stripping technique, can be used to reconstruct the subsidence history and the stretching process of the lithosphere, and to evaluate the depth to the top of the asthenosphere and the deep thermal evolution of the basins. The calculated results obtained by applying the quantitative model to the episodic rifting process of the Tertiary Qiongdongnan and Yinggehai basins in the South China Sea are in agreement with geophysical data and geological observations. This provides a new method for quantitative evaluation of the geodynamic process of multiphase rifting occurring during the Tertiary in eastern China.展开更多

However, the mechanism of how those traps were formed is not clear, which inhibits further exploration for this type of reservoir. In order to solve the problem, we take as an example nearshore subaqueous fans in the upper part of the fourth member of the Shahejie Formation (Es4s) on the north slope of the Minfeng Subsag in the Dongying Sag. Combining different research methods, such as core observation, thin section examination, scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation, fluid-inclusion analysis, carbon and oxygen isotope analysis of carbonate cements, and analysis of core properties, we studied the genetic mechanisms of diagenetic traps on the basis of diagenetic environment evolution and diagenetic evolution sequence in different sub/micro-facies. Conglomerate in Es4s in the north Minfeng Subsag experienced several periods of transition between alkaline and acidic environments as "alkaline-acidic-alkaline-acidic-weak alkaline". As a result, dissolution and cementation are also very complex, and the sequence is "early pyrite cementation / siderite cementation / gypsum cementation / calcite and dolomite cementation- feldspar dissolution / quartz overgrowth quartz dissolution / ferroan calcite cementation / ankerite cementation / lime-mud matrix recrystallization / feldspar overgrowth carbonate dissolution / feldspar dissolution / quartz overgrowth / pyrite cementation". The difference in sedimentary characteristics between different sub/micro-facies of nearshore subaqueous fans controls diagenetic characteristics. Inner fan conglomerates mainly experienced compaction and lime-mud matrix recrystallization, with weak dissolution, which led to a reduction in the porosity and permeability crucial to reservoir formation. Lime-mud matrix recrystallization results in a rapid decrease in porosity and permeability in inner fan conglomerates in middle-to-deep layers. Because acid dissolution reworks reservoirs and hydrocarbon filling inhibits cementation, reservoirs far from mudstone layers in middle fan braided channels develop a great number of primary pores and secondary pores, and are good enough to be effective reservoirs of hydrocarbon. With the increase of burial depth, both the decrease of porosity and permeability of inner fan conglomerates and the increase of the physical property difference between inner fans and middle fans enhance the quality of seals in middle-to-deep layers. As a result, inner fan conglomerates can be sealing layers in middle-to-deep buried layers. Reservoirs adjacent to mudstones in middle fan braided channels and reservoirs in middle fan interdistributaries experienced extensive cementation, and tight cemented crusts formed at both the top and bottom of conglomerates, which can then act as cap rocks. In conclusion, diagenetic traps in conglomerates of nearshore subaqueous fans could be developed with inner fan conglomerates as lateral or vertical sealing layers, tight carbonate crusts near mudstone layers in middle fan braided channels as well as lacustrine mudstones as cap rocks, and conglomerates far from mudstone layers in middle fan braided channels as reservoirs. Lime-mud matrix recrystallization of inner fan conglomerates and carbonate cementation of conglomerates adjacent to mudstone layers in middle fan braided channels took place from 32 Ma B.R to 24.6 Ma B.P., thus the formation of diagenetic traps was from 32 Ma B.R to 24.6 Ma B.R and diagenetic traps have a better hydrocarbon sealing ability from 24 Ma B.P.. The sealing ability of inner fans gradually increases with the increase of burial depth and diagenetic traps buried more than 3,200 m have better seals.展开更多

Six flows have been identified on the basis of morphological features and systematic three-tier arrangement of vesicular-entablature-colonnade zones. Petrographically, the studied flows are porphyritic basalts with plagioclase and clinopyroxene representing dominant phenocrystal phases.Major and trace element characteristics reflect moderate magmatic differentiation and fractional crystallization of tholeiitic magmas. Chondrite-normalized REE patterns corroborate pronounced LREE/HREE fractionation with LREE enrichment over MREE and HREE. Primitive mantle normalized trace element abundances are marked by LILE-LREE enrichment with relative HFSE depletion collectively conforming to intraplate magmatism with contributions from sub-continental lithospheric mantle(SCLM) and extensive melt-crust interaction. PGE compositions of Vempalle lavas attest to early sulphur-saturated nature of magmas with pronounced sulphide fractionation, while PPGE enrichment over IPGE and higher Pd/Ir ratios accord to the role of a metasomatized lithospheric mantle in the genesis of the lava flows. HFSEREE-PGE systematics invoke heterogeneous mantle sources comprising depleted asthenospheric MORB type components combined with plume type melts. HFSE-REE variations account for polybaric melting at variable depths ranging from garnet to spinel lherzolite compositional domains of mantle. Intraplate tectonic setting for the Vempalle flows with P-MORB affinity is further substantiated by(i) their origin from a rising mantle plume trapping depleted asthenospheric MORB mantle during ascent,(ii) interaction between plume-derived melts and SCLM,(iii) their rift-controlled intrabasinal emplacement through Archeane Proterozoic cratonic blocks in a subduction-unrelated ocean-continent transition zone(OCTZ). The present study is significant in light of the evolution of Cuddapah basin in the global tectonic framework in terms of its association with Antarctica, plume incubation, lithospheric melting and thinning, asthenospheric infiltration collectively affecting the rifted margin of eastern Dharwar Craton and serving as precursors to supercontinent disintegration.展开更多

Detailed studies of several case histories and the relationship between sedimentary facies and faults suggest a significant role of tectonic setting and faults in the development of turbidite, which created source areas, effected slope topography, controlled the climate and paleo-environment, and formed enough slope angle and slope break for sedimentary instabilities and massive block movement to form turbidite. According to statistics, 0.86%, with an average value of 40.3%, of the trap volumes in the 69 identified Tertiary lacustrine turbidites in the Jiyang Superdepression in the Bohai Bay Basin are filled with oil. The porosity and permeability of turbidite sands vary widely. The productive reservoirs are generally those from the braided channels of both distal and proximal turbidite, and from the main channel of proximal turbidite, with a low carbonate content and the porosity and permeability higher than 12% and 1 mD respectively. Most of the lithologic oil pools in the Jiyang Superdepression are enveloped by the effective source rocks, and the percentage of the trap volume generally increases with the hydrocarbon expulsion intensity of source rocks. This is in contrast with structural-lithologic traps (i.e. proximal turbidite along the steep slope and distal turbidite along the gentle slope), in which, graben-boundary faults play an important role in oil migration, as the turbidites are not in direct contact with effective hydrocarbon source rocks.展开更多

They are the East China Sea shelf basin and the Okinawa Trough basin. The former can be divided into a western and an eastern rift region. The development of the shelf basin underwent continental-margin fault depression, post-rift and then tectonic inversion stages. Available exploration results show that the distribution of source rocks is controlled by the basin architecture and its tectonic evolution. In the Xihu depression, mudstones and coals are the main source rocks. The eastern rift region has good geological conditions for the formation of large oil and gas fields.展开更多

Seismic interpretation and geological analysis conclude that the Nanhua-Sinian strata are a set of rift-depression depositional systems according to their tectonic and depositional features. The rift valley formed in the Nanhua Period, and the transformation became weaker during the late Sinian Period, which eventually turned into depression. From bottom to top, the deposited strata include mafic igneous, tillite, mudstone, and dolomite. Three major depocenters developed inside this basin during the rift stage and are distributed in the eastern Tarim Basin, the Awati area, and the southwestern Tarim Basin. Among them, the rift in the eastern Tarim Basin strikes in the near east-west direction on the plane and coincides with the aeromagnetic anomaly belt. This represents a strong magnetic zone formed by upwelling basic volcanic rock along high, steep normal faults of the Nanhua Period. Controlled by the tectonic background, two types of sedimentary systems were developed in the rift stage and depression stage, showing two types of sequence features in the Sinian depositional stage. The Nanhua System appears as a wedge-shaped formation, with its bottom in unconformable contact with the base. The rifting event has a strong influence on the current tectonic units in the Tarim Basin, and affects the distribution of source rock in the Yuertus Formation and reservoir beds in the Xiaoerbulake Formation in Lower Cambrian, as well as the gypseous cap rock in Middle Cambrian. The distribution features of the rifts have important and realistic significance for determining the direction of oil and gas exploration in the deep strata of the Tarim Basin. Comprehensive analysis suggests that the Tazhong region is the most favorable zone, and the Kalpin-Bachu region is the optimal potential zone for exploring sub-salt oil and gas in deep Cambrian strata.展开更多

Vertically, the lithologic deposits are mainly distributed in the lowstand, lacustrine invasion and early highstand systems of third-order sequence corresponding to a secondary tectonic episode of strong rifting, and laterally they are closely related to various fans and turbidite sandbodies controlled by syn-sedimentary faults. A variety of lithologic traps have been developed in the rift lake basins, and they generally have favorable conditions of source-reservoir-seal assemblage and hydrocarbon accumulation dynamics, indicating that there is a great exploration potential of lithologic deposits in the rift lake basins. In order to obtain satisfactory effects of lithologic deposit exploration, it is required to combine new theories with advanced technical methods.展开更多

The intensive extensional deformation in the eastern part of the Chinese continent in Late Mesozoic time (J3-K1) caused the formation of largescale fault basin system in Northeastern China block, metamorphic core complexes in North China block and widespread volcanic eruption and granitic intrusive in eastern China. Generally, the deformation has been interpreted as subduction tectonics along the eastern continental margin. We suggest that the combination effect of the subduction and collision in Tethys domain and the subduction from Pacific side and the mantle upwelling beneath the lithosphere. This event controlled the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous tectonic history in eastern China.展开更多

Five depositional episodes have been distinguished from various isochronous stratigraphic boundaries and stratigraphic sequences with the three-dimensional structure of each depositional episode analysed in detail. The tectonic paleogeographic environment corresponding to different stages of each depositional episode has been reconstructed for individual depositional system tracts. And the evolution history of this rifted basin has been divided into four stages' initial rifting and oceanization of continental crust, stretching and spreading of the basin, subduction and basin differentiation, and convergence and collision. A NNE-trending intracontinental soft collision suture was left after the closing of the basin.展开更多

In this paper, based on the study of depositional architecture, hydrocarbon migration system and dynamic evolution in the rift basins, combinations of hydrocarbon accumulation elements were analyzed using sequence stratigraphy. Hydrocarbon distribution in system tracts with different sequence orders was further studied. And we summarized stacking patterns and horizontal combination relationships for different types of reservoirs, such as lithological, tectonic-lithological, tectonic and stratigraphical reservoirs which can be observed from depression center to basin margin. The result reveals that various scales of pools exhibit significant distribution and evolution orderliness in different pool-forming units, i.e., depositional systems, plays and depressions. The regular distribution of various scales of pools is closely related to tectonic evolution and depositional filling in the rift basins. The result can be applied to the fine petroleum exploration in rift basins in eastern China. It will promote the scientific prediction and evaluation of reservoir types and their spatial distribution, lead to the active shifts of exploration targets in different zones, and thus support the stable progress of fine exploration in mature exploration areas.展开更多

The Paleogene Liushagang sequence is the main hydrocarbon-bearing stratigraphic unit in the sub-basin. Using three-dimensional(3-D)seismic data and logging data over the sub-basin, we analyzed structural styles and sedimentary characteristics of the Liushagang sequence. Five types of structural styles were defined: ancient horst, traditional slope, flexure slope-break, faulted slope-break and multiple-stage faults slope, and interpretations for positions, background and development formations of each structural style were discussed. Structural framework across the sub-basin reveals that the most remarkable tectonic setting is represented by the central transfer zone(CTZ) which divides the sub-basin into two independent depressions, and two kinds of sequence architectures are summarized:(i) the western multi-stage faults slope;(ii) the eastern flexure slope break belt. Combined with regional stress field of the Fushan Depression, we got plane combinations of the faults, and finally built up plan distribution maps of structural system for main sequence. Also, we discussed the controlling factors mainly focused on subsidence history and background tectonic activities such as volcanic activity and earthquakes. The analysis of structural styles and tectonic evolution provides strong theoretical support for future prospecting in the Fushan subbasin and other similar rifted basins of the Beibuwan Basin in South China Sea.展开更多

First, the strata in the southern segment are complete. The first to second members of Dengying Formation(Deng 1 + Deng 2) are found with relatively stable thickness(400–550 m), and the third to fourth members(Deng 3+ Deng 4) show great thickness difference between the marginal trough and the inner trough, which is up to 250 m. The Cambrian Maidiping Formation and Qiongzhusi Formation in southern Sichuan Basin are relatively thin, with the thickness changing greatly and frequently. Second, the Deyang–Anyue rift trough extended southward during the Deng 4 period, affecting southern Sichuan Basin. Compared to the middle and northern segments of the rift trough, the southern segment is generally wide, gentle and shallow, with multiple steps, and alternating uplifts and sags, which are distributed in finger shape. Third, the Deng 1 + Deng 2 in southern Sichuan Basin records the dominance of carbonate platform and unobvious sedimentary differentiation, and the Deng 4 exhibits obvious sedimentary differentiation, namely, basin–slope–secondary slope–slope–secondary slope–platform margin–restricted platform, from the inner trough to the marginal trough. Fourth, the rift trough in southern Sichuan Basin has evolved in four stages: stabilization of Deng 1–Deng 2, initialization of Deng 3–Deng 4, filling of Maidiping–Qiongzhusi, and extinction of Canglangpu Formation.展开更多

The Eastern Niger ...An attempt is made in this paper to present the dynamics of the Eastern Niger Rift Basin (ENRB) with references to the key features and processes of petroleum systems based on published information. The Eastern Niger Basin is a superimposed rift basin with sedimentary structures emplaced during two rifts episodes. The Cretaceous episode is characterized by large, tilted normally faulted blocks trending NW-SE, that were reactivated in the Paleogene, while the Paleogene episode is characterized by normal faulted blocks that trend NNW-SSE. The rifting resulted in different basin structures with the north section dominated by asymmetric half-grabens while the south section is dominated by full-grabens. Three source rocks each belonging to three different play fairways exist: 1) The Paleogene Sokor-1 Member source belongs to second cycle syn-rift play associated with fluvial/deltaic facies;2) Cretaceous Yogou and Donga sources from first cycle post-rift play associated with alluvial/fluvial/deltaic and marine clastic and carbonate facies;and 3) Cretaceous Yogou source from first cycle transitional play associated with mudstone and shale of transitional facies. The ENRB comprises two source-reservoir-seal assemblages: a lower assemblage of Upper Cretaceous and an Upper assemblage of the Paleogene. Except for the Yogou source which possesses a self-contained petroleum system, the rest of the source rocks release their oils into the Paleogene Sokor-1 Member reservoir sealed regionally by the Oligocene Sokor-2 Member. The Paleogene assemblage is charged from the Upper Cretaceous Yogou Formation through fractures emplaced during the rifting episodes.展开更多

文摘The Mesoproterozoic rifts are developed in the Ordos Basin located in the western margin of the North China Plate.Based on the latest 3D seismic data and previous research results, this study intends to discuss the zonal differential deformation characteristics and genetic mechanism of the Mesoproterozoic rifts in the Ordos Basin.NE-trending rifts are developed in the Mesoproterozoic in the south-central Ordos Basin, the main part of which are located near the western margin of the North China Plate.NNW-trending rifts are developed in the north of the basin, while NW-NNW rifts in the Mesoproterozoic in Hangjinqi area. The genetic mechanism of the Mesoproterozoic rifts is related to regional extensional stress field, plate boundary conditions and internal preexisting structures. The main extensional stress direction strikes NWW-SSE(120°)in the western margin of the North China Plate, based on the forward rift trend of the northern Mesoproterozoic. In Hangjinqi area, the reactivation of the existing NWtrending Wulansu fault and NW-NW-trending Daolao fault, results in dextral shear stress field. The boundary between the western margin of the North China Plate and its adjacent plates forms a nearly NS-trending preexisting basement tectonic belt, which intersects with the NWW-SSE(120°)extensional stress at an acute angle of 60°.Therefore,the western margin of the North China Plate is formed by oblique normal faults under oblique extension.Due to the long time span of Columbia Supercontinent breakup(1.8e1.6 Ga),the oblique rift in the south-central Ordos Basin is formed under the continuous oblique extension at the western margin of the North China Plate.

文摘By benchmarking with the iteration of drilling technology, fracturing technology and well placement mode for shale oil and gas development in the United States and considering the geological characteristics and development difficulties of shale oil in the Jiyang continental rift lake basin,East China, the development technology system suitable for the geological characteristics of shale oil in continental rift lake basins has been primarily formed through innovation and iteration of the development, drilling and fracturing technologies. The technology system supports the rapid growth of shale oil production and reduces the development investment cost.By comparing it with the shale oil development technology in the United States, the prospect of the shale oil development technology iteration in continental rift lake basins is proposed. It is suggested to continuously strengthen the overall three-dimensional development, improve the precision level of engineering technology, upgrade the engineering technical indicator system, accelerate the intelligent optimization of engineering equipment, explore the application of complex structure wells, form a whole-process integrated quality management system from design to implementation, and constantly innovate the concept and technology of shale oil development,so as to promote the realization of extensive, beneficial and high-quality development of shale oil in continental rift lake basins.
文摘The stretching process of some Tertiary rift basins in eastern China is characterized by multiphase rifting. This provides a new method for quantitative evaluation of the geodynamic process of multiphase rifting occurring during the Tertiary in eastern China.

文摘Diagenetic traps in conglomerate in nearshore subaqueous fans in the steep slope zones of rift basins have been important exploration targets for subtle reservoirs in eastern China. The sealing ability of inner fans gradually increases with the increase of burial depth and diagenetic traps buried more than 3,200 m have better seals.

文摘This study reports major, trace, rare earth and platinum group element compositions of lava flows from the Vempalle Formation of Cuddapah Basin through an integrated petrological and geochemical approach to address mantle conditions, magma generation processes and tectonic regimes involved in their formation. The present study is significant in light of the evolution of Cuddapah basin in the global tectonic framework in terms of its association with Antarctica, plume incubation, lithospheric melting and thinning, asthenospheric infiltration collectively affecting the rifted margin of eastern Dharwar Craton and serving as precursors to supercontinent disintegration.
文摘Three types of turbidites are identified in the studied area, including proximal turbidite along the northern steep slope (alluvial fans, fan delta, and subaqueous fans via short-distance transportation), distal turbidites along the southern gentle slope (stacked sliding of delta and fan delta front), and fluxoturbidite in the central depression. This is in contrast with structural-lithologic traps (i.e. proximal turbidite along the steep slope and distal turbidite along the gentle slope), in which, graben-boundary faults play an important role in oil migration, as the turbidites are not in direct contact with effective hydrocarbon source rocks.
文摘There are two Cenozoic sedimentary basins in the East China Sea. The eastern rift region has good geological conditions for the formation of large oil and gas fields.

文摘Comparative analyses of petroleum generation potential, reservoir volume, frackability, and oil mobility were conducted on 102 shale cores from the Dongpu Depression. Results show the shale has high organic matter contents composed of oil-prone type I and type II kerogens within the oil window.Various types of pores and fractures exist in the shale, with a porosity of up to 14.9%.The shale has high brittle mineral contents, extensive fractures, and high potential for oil mobility due to high seepage capacity and overpressure.Although the petroleum generation potential of the shale at Well PS18-8 is relatively greater than that at Well PS18-1,oil content of the latter is greater due to the greater TOC.The porosity and fracture density observed in Well PS18-1 are greater and more conducive to shale oil enrichment.Although the shales in Wells PS18-1 and PS18-8 have similar brittle mineral contents, the former is more favorable for anthropogenic fracturing due to a higher preexisting fracture density.Besides, the shale at Well PS18-1 has a higher seepage capacity and overpressure and therefore a higher oil mobility. The fracture density and overpressure play key roles in shale oil enrichment.

文摘On the basis of reprocessing 34 new two-dimensional spliced long sections(20,191 km) in the Tarim Basin, the deep structure features of the Tarim Basin were analyzed through interpreting 30,451 km of two-dimensional seismic data and compiling basic maps. Comprehensive analysis suggests that the Tazhong region is the most favorable zone, and the Kalpin-Bachu region is the optimal potential zone for exploring sub-salt oil and gas in deep Cambrian strata.
文摘The rift lake basins in the eastern China have abundant hydrocarbon resources of lithologic deposits, which resulted from excellent source rocks and multi-type sandbodies developed during strong rifting. In order to obtain satisfactory effects of lithologic deposit exploration, it is required to combine new theories with advanced technical methods.

文摘By examining structures, sediments, reservoirs and accumulation assemblages in the Deyang-Anyue rift and its surrounding area, four new understandings are obtained.First, during the initiation period of Deyang-Anyue rift, multiple groups of faults developed in the rift due to the effect of tensile force, bringing about multiple mound and shoal belts controlled by horsts in the second member of the Sinian Dengying Formation;in the development stage of the rift, the boundary faults of the rift controlled the development of mound and shoal belts at the platform margin in the fourth member of Dengying Formation;during the shrinkage period of the rift, platform margin grain shoals of the Cambrian Canglangpu Formation developed in the rift margin.Second, four sets of large-scale mound and shoal reservoirs in the second member of Dengying Formation, the fourth member of Dengying Formation,Canglangpu Formation and Longwangmiao Formation overlap with several sets of source rocks such as Qiongzhusi Formation source rocks and Dengying Formation argillaceous limestone or dolomite developed inside and outside the rift, forming good source-reservoir-cap rock combinations;the sealing of tight rock layers in the lateral and updip direction results in the formation model of large lithologic gas reservoirs of oil pool before gas, continuous charging and independent preservation of each gas reservoir.Third, six favorable exploration zones of large-scale lithologic gas reservoirs have been sorted out through comprehensive evaluation, namely, mound and shoal complex controlled by horsts in the northern part of the rift in the second member of Dengying Formation, isolated karst mound and shoal complex of the fourth member of Dengying Formation in the south of the rift, the superimposed area of multi-stage platform margin mounds and shoals of the second and fourth members of Dengying Formation and Canglangpu Formation in the north slope area, the platform margin mounds and shoals of the second and fourth members of Dengying Formation in the west side of the rift, the platform margin mound and shoal bodies of the fourth member of Dengying Formation in the south slope area, etc.Fourth,Well Pengtan-1 drilled on the mound and shoal complex controlled by horsts of the second member of Dengying Formation in the rift and Well Jiaotan-1 drilled on the platform margin mound and shoal complex of the North Slope have obtained high-yield gas flows in multiple target layers, marking the discovery of a new gas province with reserves of(2-3)×10^(12) m^(3).This has proved the huge exploration potential of large lithologic gas reservoir group related to intracratonic rift.
文摘? The intensive extensional deformation in the eastern part of the Chinese continent in Late Mesozoic time (J3-K1) caused the formation of largescale fault basin system in Northeastern China block, metamorphic core complexes in North China block and widespread volcanic eruption and granitic intrusive in eastern China. Generally, the deformation has been interpreted as subduction tectonics along the eastern continental margin. We suggest that the combination effect of the subduction and collision in Tethys domain and the subduction from Pacific side and the mantle upwelling beneath the lithosphere. This event controlled the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous tectonic history in eastern China.

文摘Since the recorded historical period, the Kachchh Rift Basin(KRB)has encountered numerous moderate to large magnitude earthquakes.According to the series of seismicity research so far, there are several important points of debate regarding the tectonic history and evolution of the KRB,especially during the Quaternary period. Therefore, the main objective of the present research is to inspect and perceive the association amongst the strain build-up,earthquake provenance, landform evolution and progression as archived by the Quaternary deposits of the KRB.The previous studies demonstrated the evolutions of various landforms, such as the uplifted fluvial terraces, formation of the gorges, uplifted alluvial fan sequences, which can be ideally used to reconstruct the neotectonic history along active faults of KRB.Considering this, the analysis of the accessible and supportive data, including geochronology provided by earlier studies along with some new dataset for a superior knowledge on the Quaternary tectonic forces prevailing in the KRB,have been carried out.Furthermore,we also emphasized the differences and directions for future potential research issues. The observations of variability in uplift rates across the various active faults in the KRB suggest a complex geological history during the Quaternary period. The results show that the vertical uplift rate along the significant active faults range from 0.8 to 2.8 mm/yr,demonstrating the variable tectonic stress regime prevailing in the KRB.The uplift rates constricted from geomorphic and chronological aspects suggest that the tectonic movements within the Kachchh intraplate region is regulated by the fault segments and the present tectonic stress field is in accordance with the encompassing tectonic stress field associated with the northward movement of the Indian plate corresponding to the Eurasian plate.
文摘On the basis of exhaustive researches on the facies sequences and depositlonal evolutionary process of various depositional systems, the genetic stratigraphic framework of the extensional rifted oceanic basin, which has undergone strong structural destruction, has been reconstructed by means of dynamic genetic stratigraphic analysis. A NNE-trending intracontinental soft collision suture was left after the closing of the basin.
文摘The Cenozoic rift basins in eastern China show a clear temporal and spatial zonation and episodic tectonic evolution, which control their episodic hydrocarbon generation and zonal accumulation. It will promote the scientific prediction and evaluation of reservoir types and their spatial distribution, lead to the active shifts of exploration targets in different zones, and thus support the stable progress of fine exploration in mature exploration areas.

文摘The Fushan Depression is a half-graben rifted sub-basin located in the southeast of the Beibuwan Basin, South China Sea. The analysis of structural styles and tectonic evolution provides strong theoretical support for future prospecting in the Fushan subbasin and other similar rifted basins of the Beibuwan Basin in South China Sea.

文摘Based on the latest drilling, seismic and field outcrop data, the geological characteristics(e.g. strata, development and sedimentary evolution) of the southern segment of the Late Sinian–Early Cambrian Deyang–Anyue rift trough in the Sichuan Basin are analyzed. Fourth, the rift trough in southern Sichuan Basin has evolved in four stages: stabilization of Deng 1–Deng 2, initialization of Deng 3–Deng 4, filling of Maidiping–Qiongzhusi, and extinction of Canglangpu Formation.
文摘An attempt is made in this paper to present the dynamics of the Eastern Niger Rift Basin (ENRB) with references to the key features and processes of petroleum systems based on published information. The Paleogene assemblage is charged from the Upper Cretaceous Yogou Formation through fractures emplaced during the rifting episodes.

文摘An evaluation system of hydrocarbon-bearing availability of fault traps was established based on the comprehensive analysis of fault segment growth history, fine reservoir anatomy and geochemistry tracing, with the Qikou sag in the Bohai Bay Basin as target area. The displacement/separation transform and displacement gradient method were used to prove the interpretation reliability of fault traps. The method of maximum throw subtraction was used to recover the history of fault growth and determine the availability of the forming period of fault traps.Based on the quantitative relationship between shale gouge ratio and cross-fault pressure difference of known reservoirs in southern Qikou sag,the critical shale gouge ratio of fault lateral sealing was calculated at 20%,and the quantitative evaluation chart based on the relationship of"fault throw–sand-formation ratio and hydrocarbon column height"was constructed.Based on the results of reservoir fine anatomy and quantitative fluorescence tracing test shale smear factor method is suitable for evaluating the vertical sealing of faults in the caprock of the middle submember of first member of Paleogene Shahejie Formation, and the shale smear factor critical value is 3.5.The juxtaposition thickness method is suitable for evaluating vertical sealing of faults in the caprock of the second member of Paleogene Dongying Formation, and the critical juxtaposition thickness of fault is 70–80 m.By combining four factors, the availability of fault trap interpretation, the availability of the forming period of fault trap, the availability of fault lateral sealing and the availability of fault vertical sealing, the comprehensive evaluation chart on hydrocarbon-bearing availability of fault traps in Qikou sag has been established, which provides a reasonable basis for risk assessment of fault traps.

文摘Based on seismic data, outcrop evidence, logging data and regional aeromagnetic data, the distribution of Nanhua–Sinian rifts in the southwestern Tarim Basin was analyzed, and on the basis of restoration of lithofacies paleogeography in different periods of Neoproterozoic–Cambrian, the evolution model of the proto-type rift basin was discussed. The Neoproterozoic Rodinia supercontinent split event formed the trigeminal rift system at the edge and inside of the craton in the southwestern Tarim Basin located in the Kunlun piedmont and Maigaiti slope. The rift in Kunlun piedmont zone was distributed along the E-W direction and was the oceanic rift in the trigeminal rift system. Two decadent rifts in N-E strike developed in the Luonan and Yubei areas of Maigaiti slope, and the interior of the rifts were characterized by a composite graben-horst structure composed of multiple grabens and horsts. The Neoproterozoic–Cambrian proto-type basin evolution in the southwestern Tarim Basin can be divided into three stages:rift in the Nanhua, embryonic passive continental margin in the Sinian, and stable passive continental margin in the Cambrian.Despite the regional tectonic movements in the end of Nanhua and Sinian, the tectonic framework of the southwestern Tarim Basin had not changed significantly, the sedimentary center of Nanhua rift basin showed the characteristics of succession in the Sinian–Early Cambrian. The Nanhua rift in Kunlun piedmont evolved into a craton marginal depression during the Sinian–Early Paleozoic, while the Luonan decadent rift in the midsection of Maigaiti slope evolved into a sag inside platform in Early Cambrian, constituting the paleogeographic framework of"two paleouplifts and one sag"with the paleouplifts in east and west sides of the slope. The later evolution of the Luonan decadent rift in the midsection of the Maigaiti slope formed two sets of reservoir-forming assemblages, the Sinian and the Lower Cambrian ones, which are important exploration targets in future.
