Pang Fuwan Uses Yao Medicine to Observe the Therapeutic Effects on the Physical and Mental Symptoms of Patients with Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Objective: Investigate the efficacy and safety of Yao Medicine in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma, and explore the best therapeutic measure for clinical benefit. Methods: From July 2020 to July 2022, 84 patients with advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma were selected and randomly divided into the Observation Group and control group, and the control group was treated with routine Western medicine, with 42 cases in each group. The activity of daily living (ADL) was assessed before and after treatment, meanwhile, the self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety SAS (SAS) were used to assess the improvement of a bad mood, and quality of life SF-36 was used to assess the quality of life, to judge the efficacy and safety. Results: The effective rate of observation group was 91.67%. The effective rate of the control group was 76.19%. The effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P 0.05). There were no significant differences in the scores of SDS, SAS and quality of life between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05), and after treatment, the scores of SDS, SAS and quality of life in the two groups were compared with those in the control group (P > 0.05), the scores of VAS, SDS and SAS decreased significantly, while ESCV, angle of straight leg elevation, ADL, physiological score, emotional score, social score and health status score increased significantly, the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion: Yao Medicine can improve the psychosomatic symptoms of patients with advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma better, with better efficacy and higher safety.

Analysis on the Construction Path of Database of Zhuang and Yao Medicine Information Resources

In order to realize the sharing,exchange,protection and rational utilization of Zhuang and Yao medicine resources,the problems encountered in the development of Zhuang and Yao medicine industry can be solved by using modern information technology in accordance with the present situation of Zhuang and Yao medicine resources in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the actual needs of the development of ethnic medicine.This paper expounds the significance of constructing the database of Zhuang and Yao medicine information resources from three aspects:the inheritance and development of Zhuang and Yao medicine,the sustainable development of Zhuang and Yao medicine industry and the information service system.On this basis,the principle and framework of constructing Zhuang and Yao medicine information resource database are put forward.

Research on the Development of Guangxi Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Medicine Industry

The Chinese medicine revitalization plan represented by Zhuang and Yao ethnic medicine has been incorporated into China’s and Guangxi’s overall economic and social development plans,reflecting that The Zhuang and Yao ethnic medicine industry is an important part of China’s ethnic medicine,and it is also the representative ethnic medicine industry in Guangxi.In this paper,we investigated the development of Zhuang and Yao ethnic medicine industry and its development status by consulting literature,documents and related materials and visiting relevant departments,systematically analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the development of Guangxi Zhuang and Yao ethnic medicine industry,and put forward feasible suggestions,aiming to accelerate the healthy development of Guangxi Zhuang and Yao ethnic medicine industry and provide effective data and decision-making basis for China to formulate relevant policies.

On“Pestilences”in an Ancient Vietnamese Medical Book,Nan Yao Shen Xiao(《南药神效》Miraculous Vietnamese Medicine)

Nan Yao Shen Xiao(《南药神效》Miraculous Vietnamese Medicine)is“an ancient Vietnamese medical book in Chinese language”that is extant in Vietnam and plays an important part in Vietnamese medical development history.In the chapter of“Pestilences,”the characteristics,prevention,and treatment of pestilences were described in detail.By comparing Miraculous Vietnamese Medicine with Chinese medical books including Ben Cao Gang Mu(《本草纲目》Compendium of Materia Medica),it can be seen that the prevention and treatment of pestilences were profoundly influenced by Chinese medical books.The folk-proven prescriptions in Compendium of Materia Medica,Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang(《肘后备急方》Handbook of Prescriptionsfor Emergency),Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang(《备急千金要方》Important Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold for Emergency),and other Chinese medical books were included directly or after adaptation(slight modification in dosage and usage)in Miraculous Vietnamese Medicine.This form of“foreign acceptance”witnessed the history of medical culture communication between China and Vietnam,expanded the application scope of Chinese medicine in prevention and treatment of pestilences in a foreign land,promoted the overseas spread of folk-proven prescriptions in Chinese medicine to treat pestilences,and played a major part in treatment and prevention of disease in ancient Vietnam.

Experimental Study on Anti-adjuvant Arthritis in Rats of Kadsura coccinea

[Objectives] To investigate the therapeutic effect of Kadsura coccinea on adjuvant arthritis( AA) rats and its mechanism from cytokine levels. [Methods] The complete Freund's adjuvant( CFA)-induced AA model of rats was used. The therapeutic effect of K. coccinea on AA rats was evaluated by the articular swelling,arthritis score,immune organ index and hematoxylin-eosin( HE) staining. The content of inflammatory factors TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-1β in the serum of AA rats was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay( ELISA) respectively. [Results]Compared with the model group,the total extract of K. coccinea( KCTE) could significantly inhibit the primary and secondary articular swelling of AA rats,lower the arthritis score and immune organ index,and improve the pathological state of ankles of AA rats. In the groups with a high and middle dosage of KCTE( KCTE-H and KCTE-M),KCTE could significantly reduce the content of TNF-α and IL-6 in the serum of rats,exhibiting a certain dose-effect relationship. [Conclusions]KCTE had significant therapeutic effect on the AA of rats,and the mechanism might be associated with the modulation of immune function and the decrease in the secretion of inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6.

Antitumor Effects of Ethanol Extract from Ventilago leiocarpa Benth on Sarcoma 180 Tumor-Bearing Mice and Possible Immune Mechanism

Objective To explore the antitumor effects of ethanol extract from Ventilago leiocarpa Benth(EEVLB)on sarcoma 180(S180)tumor-bearing mice and the potential mechanism.Methods Sixty mice were randomly assigned to 6 groups according to a random number table:normal group,model group,5-fluorouracil(5-FU)group(0.02 g·kg^(−1)),and high-,medium-,low-dose EEVLB groups(100,84,and 56 g of raw material·kg^(−1)body weight,respectively),with 10 mice each group.All treatments were given once daily for 10 consecutive days.Effects of EEVLB on inhibiting tumor growth and immune function in mice were evaluated among all groups after the treatments by detecting tumor inhibition rate,organ index,serum levels of interleukin(IL)-2,-6,-10,CD3^(+)CD4^(+)T lymphocytes,CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)ratio,caspase-3 and Bcl-2.Results EEVLB with different concentrations achieved inhibition of tumor growth in vivo,wherein the high-dose group showed the most significant reduction in tumor weight and increased apoptosis of tumor cells(P<0.05).In addition,both net weight gain and spleen index of mice showed uptrend in EEVLB treatment groups(P<0.05).Besides,serum levels of IL-2 and IL-6,percentages of CD3^(+)CD4^(+)T lymphocytes and ratio of CD4^(+)/CD8^(+)in peripheral blood were elevated in high-and medium-dose EEVLB groups compared with the model group(P<0.05).Also,upregulation of caspase-3 and downregulation of Bcl-2 were observed at protein levels in the high-dose EEVLB group(P<0.01).Conclusions EEVLB exhibits promising antitumor activity in vivo.This effect might be due to activation of apoptotic signaling pathway,increase of cytokine levels and enhancement of immune function in tumor-bearing mice.
