Another 51 cases used as control group weretreated with routine needling method. In the experimental group, the treatment was conducted 20times at most and 5 times at least. After an average of 13 times of treatment, the cured patients constituted 88. 33 % and the effective rate was 99. 16%. In the control group, the treatment was performed for 40 fimes at most, 10 times at least and 25 times on the average. The cure rate was 50. 98 %and the total effective rate 94. 12%. Comparison between the two groups showed a very significantdifference (X2 = 28. 38, P<0.01 ) in the cure rate. It is cqncluded that deep insertion of the needle atYaoyangguan (GV 3) plus electrical stimulation is faster and stable in producing therapeutic effect.展开更多

Methods In 79 cases of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion (LIDP) patients, infrared thermograms of the lumbar and back region were taken with a thermal texture maps(TTM) method at a natural state, followed by a heat-sensitive detection with moxibustion method [moxibustion was given at Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area for 10 min]. The cases with thermal diffusion and heat transfer on the Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area were recorded after ceasing of the suspended moxibustion. Then the infrared thermograms were taken by TTM for the second time, and the changes of infrared thermograms of the waist-back region before and after moxibustion were recorded. Finally, the differences between moxibustion and infrared detection methods in the heat-sensitive state on Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area were compared in the LIDP patients. Results Before moxibustion, the infrared radiation intensity most displayed high-temperature characteristics on the Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area in the LIDP patients. Compared with the moxibustion method, the sensitivity(true positive rate) was 86.4%, the specificity (true negative rate) was 70.0%, and the accuracy was 82.3%; after moxibustion at the Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area, the infrared radiation enhanced area obviously extended vertically along the medial waist-back (the Governor Vessel) or horizontally along the Belt Vessel. Compared with the moxibustion method, the sensitivity (true positive rate) was 79.7%, the specificity (true negative rate) was 75.0% and the accuracy was 78.5%. Conclusion The HS state of Yaoyangguan (腰阳关GV 3) area in the LIDP patients can be objectively displayed by the infrared imaging to a certain extent; moxibustion at the HS acupoint produces the thermal phenomena, such as thermal expansion and heat transfer, which can be objectively displayed to a certain extent by the infrared imaging apart from the subjective feeling of the subject.展开更多

The patients in the two groups were all given antipsychotics as the basic treatment. Electroacupuncture at GV 20 and EX-HN 3 was performed additionally in electroacupuncture group with 30 min/time and once every other day. The treatment was given for 3 times a week, lasting for 6 weeks. Oral administration of sertraline hydrochloride was given in western medicine group additionally for once a day, lasting for6 weeks. The comprehensive conditions of patients in the two groups were evaluated before and after treatment by adopting Global Assessment Scale(GAS). The degree of depression of patients in the two groups was assessed before treatment, after treatment for 1 week, 2 weeks and 4 weeks, after treatment as well as during follow-up visit by adopting Hamilton Depression Scale-17(HAMD-17).Results: GAS: GAS scores of the patients in the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment(both P〈0.05), but the difference of GAS scores of the patients in the two groups after treatment was not statistically significant. HAMD-17: The HAMD-17 scores of patients in electroacupuncture group reduced gradually in the six time points of before treatment, after treatment for 1 week, 2 weeks and 4 weeks, after treatment as well as during follow-up visit, and the differences of scores between the two adjacent time points were statistically significant(all P〈0.05). The HAMD-17 scores of patients in western medicine group reduced gradually in the 6 time points, and the differences of scores between the two adjacent time points among after treatment for 2 weeks and 4 weeks, and after treatment were statistically significant(all P〈0.05). The HAMD-17 scores of patients in electroacupuncture group were lower than that in western medicine group after treatment for 1 week. 2 weeks and 4 weeks, and the differences were statistically significant(all P〈0.05).Conclusion: According to the comparison of the clinical efficacies of electroacupuncture at GV 20 and EXHN 3 and oral administration of sertraline hydrochloride for treatment of post-schizophrenic depression, the overall conditions were improved effectively and the difference was not statistically significant. Electroacupuncture takes effect more rapidly in treatment of depression, and its effect can last for a longer time.展开更多

Methods: Fifty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into a blank group, a model group, a grasping group, a Western medicine group and an acupuncture group, with 10 rats in each group. Except for the blank group, rats in the other 4 groups all received the combined stress modeling method. Rats in the Western medicine group were intragastrically administrated with paroxetine hydrochloride, those in the acupuncture group received acupuncture intervention, those in the grasping group received grasping fixation, and those in the model group and the blank group did not receive any in terve ntions. After 14 d of in terve ntion, the interspike in terval (ISI) and power spectral den sities (PSD) were an a lyzed and mapped by in vivo multiple channels to record the neuron clusters discharge in the hippocampal CAI and CA3 areas. Results: Compared with the blank group, ISI was proIonged in the CAI and CA3 areas of the model group and the grasping group, and the concentrated PSD distribution area moved down (Pv0.05 or P<0.01). Compared with the grasping group, the ISI of the CAI and CA3 areas in the Western medicine group and the acupuncture group was shortened, and the concentrated PSD distribution area moved up (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The ISI and PSD distributions in the CAI and CA3 areas of the acupuncture group were not statistically different from those in the Western medicine group (both P>0.05). Conclusion: Both acupuncture and paroxetine hydrochloride can significantly regulate the neuro-electrophysiology activity of hippocampal CAI and CA3 areas in PTSD rats, which may be one of the mechanisms of acupuncture intervention to promote PTSD recovery.展开更多
