The results indicated that the total acid amounts, their density and the amount of B-type acid of HZSM-5 catalysts rapidly decreased, while the amounts of L-type acid had almost no change and thus the ratio of L/B was obviously enhanced with the increase of calcination temperature (excluding 800 ℃). The catalytic performances of modified HZSM-5 catalysts for the cracking of n-butane were also investigated. The main properties of these catalysts were characterized by means of XRD, N2 adsorption at low temperature, NH3-TPD, FTIR of pyridine adsorption and BET surface area measurements. The results showed that HZSM-5 zeolite pretreated at 800 ℃ had very low catalytic activity for n-butane cracking. In the calcination temperature range of 500-700 ℃, the total selectivity to olefins, propylene and butene were increased with the increase of calcination temperature, while, the selectivity for arene decreased with the calcination temperature. The HZSM-5 zeolite calcined at 700 ℃ produced light olefins with high yield, at the reaction temperature of 650 ℃ the yields of total olefins and ethylene were 52.8% and 29.4%, respectively. Besides, the more important role is that high calcination temperature treatment improved the duration stability of HZSM-5 zeolites. The effect of calcination temperature on the physico-chemical properties and catalytic performance of HZSM-5 for cracking of n-butane was explored. It was found that the calcination temperature had large effects on the surface area, crystallinity and acid properties of HZSM-5 catalyst, which further affected the catalytic performance for n-butane cracking.展开更多

Dealumination of mesopores was performed selec‐tively using trichloroacetic acid, which could only diffuse into the mesopores and not the mi‐cropores owing to the size of the trichloroacetic acid molecules. Empty spaces are created in the catalyst as a result of removal of the Al atoms from the zeolite structure. If Si atoms fill the empty space, then the structure of the mesopores becomes similar to silicates, which do not have any cata‐lytic properties. Silicon containing solution was used to fill the empty spaces, and in doing so, a unique method was developed, by which silicon atoms can directly replace the extracted Al atoms from the mesopore structure. Therefore, by changing the geometry and properties of the mesopores and micropores, the amount of coke reduced from 14%for HZSM‐5 to 3%for the modified zeolite.展开更多

The catalysts were used to enhance the catalytic dehydration of lactic acid (LA) to acrylic acid (AA). The effects of cationic species on the structures and surface acid-base distributions of the ZSM-5 zeolites were investigated. The important factors that affect the catalytic performance were also identified. The modified ZSM-5 catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction, tempera- ture-programmed desorptions of NH3 and CO2, pyridine adsorption spectroscopy, and N2 adsorption to determine the crystal phase structures, surface acidities and basicities, nature of acid sites, specific surface areas, and pore volumes. The results show that the acid-base sites that are adjusted by alkali-metal species, particularly weak acid-base sites, are mainly responsible for the formation of AA. The KZSM-5 catalyst, in particular, significantly improved LA conversion and AA selectivity because of the synergistic effect of weak acid-base sites. The reaction was conducted at different reaction temperatures and liquid hourly space velocities (LHSVs) to understand the catalyst selectivity for AA and trends in byproduct formation. Approximately 98% LA conversion and 77% AA selectivity were achieved using the KZSM-5 catalyst under the optimum conditions (40 wt% LA aqueous solution, 365 ℃, and LHSV 2 h-1).展开更多

The characterization results indicated that the intergrowth zeolite ZSM-22/ZSM-23 possessed the dual structure of ZSM-22 and ZSM-23, and the catalyst Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 had similar pores and weak acidity to Pt/ZSM-22 and Pt/ZSM-23 catalysts. Moreover, Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 catalyst showed a high selectivity in hydroisomerization of long chain n-alkanes to mono-branched isomers. The evaluation results for n-dodecane hydroisomerization indicated that the activity of Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 was the lowest, while the hydroisomerization selectivity was the highest among the three catalysts. The catalytic performance of the zeolites for the aromatization of 1-hexene was investigated. The results indicate that isomorphous substitution promotes the incorporation of Ga heteroatoms into the framework along with the formation of extra-framework GaO;species([GaO;]a) that have stronger interactions with the negative potential of the framework. In addition, based on the Py-IR results and catalytic performance, the [GaO;]aspecies with stronger Lewis acid sites produced a better synergism with moderate Br?nsted acid sites and thus improved the selectivity to aromatic compounds. However, the impregnation results in the formation of Ga;O;phase and small amounts of GaO;species that are mainly located on the external surface([GaO;];), which contribute to weaker Lewis acid sites due to weaker interactions with the zeolite framework. During 1-hexene aromatization, the nanosized Ga isomorphously substituted ZSM-5 zeolite samples(Gax-NZ5) exhibited better catalytic performance compared to the impregnated samples, and the highest aromatic yield(i.e.,65.4 wt%) was achieved over the Ga4.2-NZ5 sample, which contained with the highest Ga content.展开更多

The effects of temperature and C/O ratio (catalyst to oil weight ratio) on the distribution of the product and the yield of propylene were investigated on a micro reactor unit with two model catalysts, namely ZSM-5/Al2O3 and USY/Al2O3, and Fushun vacuum gas oil (VGO) was used as the feedstock. The conversion of heavy oil over ZSM-5 catalyst can be comparable to that of USY catalyst at high temperature and high C/O ratio. The rate of conversion of heavy oil using the ZSM-5 equilibrium catalyst is lower compared with the USY equilibrium catalyst under the general FCC conditions and this can be attributed to the poor steam ability of the ZSM-5 equilibrium catalyst. The difference in pore topologies of USY and ZSM-5 is the reason why the principal products for the above two catalysts is different, namely gasoline and liquid petroleum gas (LPG), repspectively. So the LPG selectivity, especially the propylene selectivity, may decline if USY is added into the FCC catalyst for maximizing the production of propylene. Increasing the C/O ratio is the most economical method for the increase of LPG yield than the increase of the temperature of the two model catalysts, because the loss of light oil is less in the former case. There is an inverse correlation between HTC (hydrogen transfer coefficient) and the yield of propylene, and restricting the hydrogen transfer reaction is the more important measure in increasing the yield of propylene of the ZSM-5 catalyst. The ethylene yield of ZSM-5/A1203 is higher, but the gaseous side products with low value are not enhanced when ZSM-5 catalyst is used. Moreover, for LPG and the end products, dry gas and coke, their ranges of reaction conditions to which their yields are dependent are different, and that of end products is more severe than that of LPG. So it is clear that maximizing LPG and propylene and restricting dry gas and coke can be both achieved via increasing the severity of reaction conditions among the range of reaction conditions which LPG yield is sensitive to.展开更多

It could be found that benzene and propylene molecules showed different adsorption behavior in the zeolite cavities. The loadings of propylene were significantly larger than those of benzene at 100 kPa. From the figures of potential energy distribution, the potential energy of benzene/zeolite was more negative than that of propylene/zeolite, so benzene could be adsorbed more stably than propylene. When the temperature was in- creased from 298 to 443 K at 100 kPa, the loading ofpropylene was reduced from 99 to 82 molecules, whereas that of benzene changed little. When benzene and propylene were adsorbed in zeolite simultaneously, the competitive adsorption of them occurred; therefore, the potential energy distribution could be changed significantly. Besides, the adsorption isotherms of benzene and propylene in ZSM-5 at 298 and 443 K were simulated. The results exhibit that the different factors influenced the molecular adsorption at various temperatures and pressures, leading to the diffe- rent rules for the adsorption of benzene and propylene molecules in the zeolite. At a low pressure, the unfavorable energy of propylene/zeolite and the "commensurate freezing" phenomenon of benzene would make the loadings of itself higher than those of propylene. When pressure was higher than 5 kPa, the adsorption of benzene in ZSM-5 would nearly reach saturation.展开更多

After being pretreated in flowing He at 500 ℃ to form active Cu+, these catalysts exhibited quite different activities in cata- lytic decomposition of N2O. CZM-AC(II) (prepared by ammoniacal copper (II) complex ion) with 9.4 wt% Cu con- tent was the most active among these Cu-ZSM-5 catalysts, achieving almost complete N2I conversion at 400 ℃. CZM-CA (prepared using Cu( CH3COO)2 as the Cu precursor) with 2.8 wt% Cu content was the second most active catalyst among these Cu-ZSM-5 catalysts, achieving almost complete N2I conversion at 425 ℃. CZM-CC, CZM- CN, and CZM-CS prepared by using CuCl2, Cu(NO3)2, or CuSO4 as the Cu precursor with similar Cu contents (≈1.7 wt%) were the least active among these Cu-ZSM-5 catalysts, achieving ca. 90% N2O conversion at 500 ℃. XRD, ICP, SEM, TEM, EDX-mapping, and CO-IR experiments were conducted to characterize relevant samples. The superior activity of CZM-AC(II) can be attributed to the high contents of total Cu+ and dimeric Cu+ among these samples. The influence of co-fed O2 or H2O on the catalytic performance of typical samples was also studied.展开更多

It was discovered that the pore structure and the acidities of zeolite catalysts played crucial roles in the isobutylene amination process, and suitable pore diameter(larger than 0.5 nm or with large side pockets/cups in the outside surface) and a certain number of mid-strong acid sites are indispensable to catalyze the amination reaction, while too strong acid strength was not conducive to the process of isobutylene amination. Among them, zeolites with topologies of BEA, MFI, MEL, MWW and EUO exhibited good amination performance, with which the isobutylene conversion was higher than 12.61%(>46.42% of the equilibrium conversion) under the studied mild reaction conditions. Due to the good amination performance and the large adjustable Si/Al;ratio range, ZSM-5 was selected to further study the effect of acidity on the amination performance systematically under the mild reaction conditions, and the activity-acidity relationship in the amination process was disclosed: the amination activity(isobutylene conversion) had a linear correlation with the amount of mid-strong B acidity under the studied conditions over ZSM-5 catalyst, which can provide guidance for further developing high-efficient amination catalyst under mild reaction conditions available for future industrial use.展开更多

文摘The hydrophilic ZSM-5 zeolite membranes are applied to separate the inorganic acid solutions and inorganic acid/inorganic salt mixtures by pervaporation, and the membrane presents good stability, dehydration, and desalination performance.Influences of inorganic acid type(H_(2)SO_(4),H_(3)PO_(4),HNO_(3),and HCl),H_(2)SO_(4)concentration(1-6 mol·L^(-1)),test temperature(60-90℃)and inorganic acid/inorganic salt type(2 mol·L^(-1)H_(2)SO_(4)and sulfate,2 mol·L^(-1)H3PO4 and phosphate)on the pervaporation performance are investigated in this work.Either for concentrating 3%(mass)H_(2)SO_(4)solution or consecutive dehydrating 20%(mass)H_(2)SO_(4)solution,the hydrophilic ZSM-5 zeolite membrane has a good dehydration performance and stability.Even though the H_(2)SO_(4)concentration and test temperature are increased to 6 M and 90℃,only H_(2)O molecules could pass through the membrane and pH value of the permeation is kept neutral.Besides, the membrane has good dehydration and desalination performance for H_(2)SO_(4)/sulfates and H_(3)PO_(4)/phosphate mixtures, and the rejection of natrium salt, molysite, and magnesium is almost 100%.
文摘Conventional synthesis of monolith-supported zeolite catalysts is based on a hydrothermal strategy. Here,we report a solvent-free crystallization process to coat ZSM-5 zeolite crystals on a monolithic SiC foam with a honeycomb structure(ZSM-5/SiC).Characterizations of the ZSM-5/SiC by scanning electron microscopy,N2 sorption, and X-ray diffraction indicate that the zeolite sheath has been ideally coated on the surface of the SiC foam with high purity and crystallinity.Fixing Pd nanoparticles within the ZSM-5 zeolite crystals delivers a bifunctional Pd@ZSM-5/SiC catalyst, which exhibits high activity and selectivity toward diesel range paraffins in the hydrodeoxygenation of methyl oleate,a model molecule for biofuel. In comparison to the powder Pd@ZSM-5,the Pd@ZSM-5/SiC monolith catalyst shows more efficiency, which is attributed to the fast mass transfer and high heat conductivity on the honeycomb SiC structure. The durability test indicates that the Pd@ZSM-5/SiC catalyst is stable under the reaction and high-temperature regeneration conditions.

文摘Composite structures of ZSM‐5 zeolites were prepared by the synthesis of mesopores and mi‐cropores using carbon nanotubes as a template. Therefore, by changing the geometry and properties of the mesopores and micropores, the amount of coke reduced from 14%for HZSM‐5 to 3%for the modified zeolite.

文摘ZSM-5 zeolite was rapidly synthesized in system containing ethylenediamine from the initial gel: (5?8) Na2O: 44 EDA:Al2O3:100 SiO2:4000 H2O. The crystals were lath-shaped. The effect of pretreatment and alkalinity on crystallinity was investigated. The pretreatment of silicate source can cut down the crystallization time. Tuning the system alkalinity and controlling crystallization time can ensure forming of pure crystal.

文摘The ZSM-5 zeolite with an unusual snowflake-shaped morphology was hydrothermally synthesized for the first time, and compared with common ellipsoidal and boat-like shaped samples. These samples were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction, magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance,temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia, and infrared spectroscopy of pyridine adsorption. The results suggest that the BET surface area and SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of these samples are similar, while the snowflake-shaped ZSM-5 zeolite possesses more of the(101) face, and distortion, dislocation, and asymmetry in the framework, resulting in a larger number of acid sites than the conventional samples.Catalysts for the methanol to olefin(MTO) reaction were prepared by loading Ca on the samples. The snowflake-shaped Ca/ZSM-5 zeolite exhibited excellent selectivity for total light olefin(72%) and propene(39%) in MTO.The catalytic performance influenced by the morphology can be mainly attributed to the snowflake-shaped ZSM-5 zeolite possessing distortion, dislocation, and asymmetry in the framework, and lower diffusion limitation than the conventional samples.
文摘The composite ZSM—5 zeolite/vermiculite catalyst,in which tiny ZSM—5 zeolite parti- cles embedded in the vermiculite substrate, has been synthesized by hydrothermal method with vermiculite as silicon source. The catalytic behavior of resulting catalyst for xylene isomerization, propylene aromatization and toluene disproportionation is better than that of HZSM—5 zeolite.
文摘Various ZSM-5 zeolites modified with alkali metals (Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs) were prepared using ion exchange. Approximately 98% LA conversion and 77% AA selectivity were achieved using the KZSM-5 catalyst under the optimum conditions (40 wt% LA aqueous solution, 365 ℃, and LHSV 2 h-1).

文摘Hydroisomerization catalysts Pt/ZSM-22, Pt/ZSM-23, and Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 were prepared by supporting Pt on ZSM-22, ZSM-23, and intergrowth zeolite ZSM-22/ZSM-23, respectively. The typical physicochemical properties of these catalysts were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), N2 absorption-desorption, Pyridine-Fourier Transform Infrared (Py-FTIR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and NH3- Temperature Programmed Desorption (NH3-TPD), and the performance of these catalysts in n-dodecane hydroisomerization was evaluated in a continuous down-flow fixed bed with a stainless steel tubular reactor. The maximum yield of i-dodecane product was 68.3% over Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 at 320 ℃.

文摘The influences of binder and molding method on the catalytic performance of methane aromatization in the absence of O2 over MoO3/ZSM-5 catalysts were investigated.SEM,NH3-TPD,FT-IR of adsorbed pyridine,N2 adsorption-desorption,cyclohexane adsorption and XPS were employed to characterize the physical and chemical properties of the catalysts. It was found that SiO2 was a suitable binder for the catalyst due to its appropriate weak acidity. The laminar catalyst comprising of an inert spherical core and a MoO3/ZSM-5 laminar shell with 0.1 0.2 mm in thickness showed a better catalytic performance than the extruded catalyst. The improved activity of the laminar catalyst could be attributed to the easy carbonization of Mo species and the quick removal of reaction products from the catalyst surface.

文摘Nanosized Ga-containing ZSM-5 zeolites were prepared via isomorphous substitution and impregnation followed by characterized using various techniques. During 1-hexene aromatization, the nanosized Ga isomorphously substituted ZSM-5 zeolite samples(Gax-NZ5) exhibited better catalytic performance compared to the impregnated samples, and the highest aromatic yield(i.e.,65.4 wt%) was achieved over the Ga4.2-NZ5 sample, which contained with the highest Ga content.

文摘HZSM-5 zeolites with the micro-mesopore hierarchical porosity have been prepared by the post-synthesis of alkali-treatment, and their thermal and hydrothermal stabilities were studied using DTA, XRD, and NH3-TPD characterization techniques. Compared to the unmodified zeolite, the thermal and hydrothermal stabilities of the alkali-treated ZSM-5 zeolites were slightly deteriorated because of the introduction of mesopores caused by the desilication. Nevertheless, the alkali-treated zeolite framework could be maintained until the temperature increased to 1175 ℃.
文摘It is useful for practical operation to study the rules of production of propylene by the catalytic conversion of heavy oil in FCC (fluid catalytic cracking). So it is clear that maximizing LPG and propylene and restricting dry gas and coke can be both achieved via increasing the severity of reaction conditions among the range of reaction conditions which LPG yield is sensitive to.

文摘Four ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts with different Si/Al ratios for the catalytic cracking of C4 fractions to produce ethylene and propylene were prepared in this study.First, the adsorption isotherms of pure n-butane and butene-1 and their mixtures on these catalysts at 300K and p=0—100kPa were measured using the intelligent gra- vimetric analyzer. The experimental results indicate that the presence of Al can significantly affect the adsorption of butene-1 than that of n-butane on ZSM-5 zeolites. Then, the double Langmuir(DL)model was applied to study the pure gas adsorption on ZSM-5 zeolites for pure n-butane and butene-1.By combining the DL model with the ideal adsorbed solution theory(IAST),the IAST-DL model was applied to model the butene-1(1)/n-butane(2)binary mixture adsorption on ZSM-5 zeolites with different Si/Al ratios. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data, indicating that the IAST-DL model is effective for the present systems. Finally, the adsorp- tion over a wide range of variables was predicted at low pressure and 300K by the model proposed. It is found that the selectivity of butene-1 over n-butane increases linearly with the decrease of Si/Al ratio.A correlation between the selectivity and Si/Al ratio of the sample was proposed at 300K and p=0.08MPa.

文摘The adsorption behavior of benzene and propylene in zeolite ZSM-5 was studied by Grand Canonical Monte Carlo(GCMC) simulations. When pressure was higher than 5 kPa, the adsorption of benzene in ZSM-5 would nearly reach saturation.

文摘Although the preparation of ZSM-5@silicalite-1(ZS) core–shell catalysts has been reported in the literature, their selectivity to para-xylene(PX)in the toluene alkylation with methanol is difficult to control. Here we present the effects of water and ZSM-5 adding amounts in the synthesis solution, the hydrothermal synthesis time, and the Si/Al ratio of core ZSM-5 on the catalytic performance of ZS core–shell catalysts. The ZS core–shell catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),N_2 adsorption, and NH_3 temperature-programmed desorption (NH_3-TPD) techniques. The highest PX selectivity of 95.5%was obtained for the ZS(Si/Al=140) catalyst prepared in the synthesis solution with a molar ratio of 0.2 TPAOH:1TEOS:250H_2O at 175°C and 10 r·min^(-1) for only 2 h and the corresponding toluene conversion is as high as 22.8% for the alkylation of toluene with methanol.

文摘Five Cu-ZSM-5 catalysts were obtained by treating Na-ZSM-5 (Si/Al ratio = 15) with aqueous solutions of differ- ent Cu precursors (CuCl2, Cu(NO3)2, CuSO4, Cu(CH3COO)2, and ammoniacal copper (II) complex ion). The influence of co-fed O2 or H2O on the catalytic performance of typical samples was also studied.

文摘The atomically economic and green chemical reaction of direct amination of isobutylene to tertbutylamine, particularly under the relative mild reaction conditions available for future industrial use,was carried out over zeolite catalysts possessing different topological structures, from one dimensional to three dimensional pore system, and from small 8-member ring pore(MRP) to medium 10 MRP and further to large 12 MRP zeolites, to disclose the relationship between the zeolite properties/topologies and their amination performance systematically under the mild reaction conditions. Due to the good amination performance and the large adjustable Si/Al;ratio range, ZSM-5 was selected to further study the effect of acidity on the amination performance systematically under the mild reaction conditions, and the activity-acidity relationship in the amination process was disclosed: the amination activity(isobutylene conversion) had a linear correlation with the amount of mid-strong B acidity under the studied conditions over ZSM-5 catalyst, which can provide guidance for further developing high-efficient amination catalyst under mild reaction conditions available for future industrial use.
