A theoretical model which couples the oscillation of cavitation bubbles with the equation of an acoustic wave is utilized to describe the sound fields in double-layer liquids, which can be used to realize the asymmetr...A theoretical model which couples the oscillation of cavitation bubbles with the equation of an acoustic wave is utilized to describe the sound fields in double-layer liquids, which can be used to realize the asymmetric transmission of acoustic waves. Numerical simulations show that the asymmetry is related to the properties of the host liquids and the input acoustic wave. Asymmetry can be enhanced if the maximum number density or the ambient radius of the cavitation bubbles in the low cavitation threshold liquid increases. Moreover, the direction of rectification will be reversed if the amplitude of the input acoustic wave becomes high enough.展开更多

Using Green's function, we confirm that the method invented by Rayleigh can be generalized to deal with thermal property of these systems. A technique for calculating effective thermal conductivities of these systems is proposed. As an example, we consider a system with square symmetry, and a neat formula for effective thermal conductivity is derived. We show that the method also includes the proof of Keller theorem.展开更多

The calculated results show that the transport behavior of the device is sensitive to the rotation degree of the rotor part. When the rotor part is parallel with the stator part, a better rectifying performance can be found in the current-voltage curve. However, when the rotor part revolves to vertical with the stator part, the currents in the positive bias region decrease slightly. More importantly, the rectifying performance disappears. Thus this offers us a new method to modulate the rectifying behavior in molecular devices.展开更多

Detailed investigation of flow behavior in structured packing distillation columns is of great importance in accurate prediction of process efficiency and development of more efficient and optimal equipment internals....Detailed investigation of flow behavior in structured packing distillation columns is of great importance in accurate prediction of process efficiency and development of more efficient and optimal equipment internals. In this study, a three-dimensional two-phase flow model based on VOF method for simulating the hydrodynamics and mass-transfer behavior in a typical representative unit of the structured packing is developed. In the proposed model, the c 2 - ε c model is used for the closure of turbulent mass transfer equation. By solving the proposed model, the velocity distribution, phase fraction profile and concentration field are obtained. Using these data, the total liquid holdup, the wetted area and the separation efficiency [height equivalent to a theoretical plate (HETP)] are estimated. For testing the model validation, the simulated HETPs are compared with our previous experimental data obtained in a 150 mm-diameter column containing Mellapak 350Y operating at the pressures of 0.6-1.8 MPa. The compari-son shows that they are in satisfactory agreement, with an average absolute deviation (AAD) of 25.4%.展开更多

The structure design, measurement principle and experimental results are presented. The theoretical analysis and experimental results prove that this system has advanced features of simple structure, high automation, and high accuracy, and can be used in the measurement fields of mechanical manufacture, robot, auto, aviation and medicine effectively.展开更多

Therefore, a method based on Fourier spectrum analysis is presented to predict the intensity distribution in the focusing plane for the X-ray lenses.
