This period also witnessed the birth and organization of the Sabbatarian Adventism, a pre-m...The period between 1850 and 1865 was a period of major social upheavals in American society; the major issue was the slavery. This period also witnessed the birth and organization of the Sabbatarian Adventism, a pre-millennial Christian movement distinguished by an emphasis on the Seventh-day Sabbath and a special understanding of Bible prophecies. Most Adventist pioneers vehemently opposed slavery, although not always on the same ground as their Christian counterparts. Aided by their peculiar understanding of Bible prophecy, the early Adventists identified America with apocalyptical end-time power, slavery being the key attribute of the ＂beast that looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon＂ from Revelation 13：11. This article investigates the development of Adventist connection between slavery, America and Bible prophecy.展开更多
During the Covid-19 pandemic in Serbia on March 6.to 03.04.2020.I cured 41 cases with a very severe clinical picture of influenza or possibly Covid-19.At that time,the Health Center in Sjenica did not have the materia...During the Covid-19 pandemic in Serbia on March 6.to 03.04.2020.I cured 41 cases with a very severe clinical picture of influenza or possibly Covid-19.At that time,the Health Center in Sjenica did not have the material for the diagnosis of Covid-19,and the patients refused to go to the neighboring Health Center because of the fear that caused sudden deaths.In my scientific work:“The role of cold in the origin and development of diseases with special review of some diseases of the respiratory system-treatment and prevention”,I proved the effect of cold and overheating on all organs and effective treatment.Under the effect of cooling,vasoconstriction,impaired circulation and impaired metabolism occur.Macrophage motility is reduced,phagocytes are weakened,ingestion,which causes easy implantation of the virus in the lungs.All the viral infections I followed for more than 35 years passed with mild symptoms if there was no previous cold or during the illness,even with the highly infectious Mexican flu(A/H1N1)and influenza.Patients with Covid-19 reported minimal,minor or more intense colds,which also determined the severity of the clinical picture.展开更多

Our findings suggest that, with abo...Based on nationally representative panel data, this paper examines the content and evolution of China＇s cadre responsibility system at county-township and township- village levels. Our findings suggest that, with abolition of agricultural tax, there has been a series of changes in the focus of evaluation both at county-township and township-village levels. In county-township evaluation system, importance of economic development and social stability grew but fiscal pressure did not weaken; while in township-village system, original indicator of fiscal pressure became less important. Meanwhile, by enhancing ＂veto＂ indicator of evaluation on village cadres, township government attempted to cascade the pressure of social stability to village administration. Although central government has initiated a series of reforms on agriculture, countryside and farmers, county and township governments did not pay more attention to rural infrastructure. In addition, county government paid less and less attention to farmers＇ income growth.展开更多
Putting Philadelphia physician,politician,and abolitionist Benjamin Rush’s Enlightenment and abolitionism together,this article argues that Rush was a radical Enlightenment thinker in the eighteenth century Atlantic ...Putting Philadelphia physician,politician,and abolitionist Benjamin Rush’s Enlightenment and abolitionism together,this article argues that Rush was a radical Enlightenment thinker in the eighteenth century Atlantic world.A close consideration of Rush’s radical abolitionism illustrates his antislavery networks in the broader Atlantic world.Meanwhile,drawing on largely unnoticed correspondence between Rush and his radical friends,it aims to demonstrate his radical character in the transatlantic Enlightenment.A focused study on Rush’s antislavery activities and transatlantic Enlightenment thus hopes to cast recent scholarship highlighting Philadelphia’s Enlightenment and abolitionism in a radical light.展开更多
