Compared with common field, yield of Yueyou 6135, Huayou 18, Jinyou 284 and Ⅱyou 46 increased by 3.24%-26.33% in acidified field, while yield of other varieties decreased by 2.04%-56.79% in acidified field. In this study,the two-stage upflow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB)system and batch experiments were employed to evaluate the performance of anaerobic digestion for the treatment of high concentration methanol wastewate...In this study,the two-stage upflow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB)system and batch experiments were employed to evaluate the performance of anaerobic digestion for the treatment of high concentration methanol wastewater.The acid resistance of granular sludge and methanogenic bacteria and their metabolizing activity were investigated.The results show that the pH of the first UASB changed from 4.9 to 5.8 and 5.5 to 6.2 for the second reactor.Apparently,these were not the advisable pH levels that common metha-nogenic bacteria could accept.The methanogenic bacteria of the system,viz.Methanosarcina barkeri,had some acid resis-tance and could still degrade methanol at pH 5.0.If the meth-anogenic bacteria were trained further,their acid resistance would be improved somewhat.Granular sludge of the system could protect the methanogenic bacteria within its body against the impact of the acidic environment and make them degrade methanol at pH 4.5.The performance of granular sludge was attributed to its structure,bacteria species,and the distribution of bacterium inside the granule.展开更多
This paper addresses the potential use of Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash(SCBA)as a pozzolanic material for partial cement replacement in concrete mixtures.Cement mortars containing SCBA having five different particle size dis...This paper addresses the potential use of Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash(SCBA)as a pozzolanic material for partial cement replacement in concrete mixtures.Cement mortars containing SCBA having five different particle size distributions at a replacement rate of 20%by weight were used to study the chemical and physical pozzolanic properties of SCBA.The durability of SCBA replaced mortars was also evaluated.SCBA with 0%retained on sieve No.325 was used to replace 20%by weight of cement and create mortar specimens that were subjected to sulfuric acid attack of varying concentrations(1%–3%by weight of water).The tested samples were observed to check visual distortion,mass loss,and compressive strength loss at 1,7,14,28,and 56 d of acidic exposure,and the results were compared to those for the control sample,that was lime water cured,at the same ages.The SCBA sets were found to meet the requirements for pozzolan class N specified by ASTM C 618.Mortars containing SCBA with 0%or 15%retention produced better compressive strength than the control mortars after 28 d.Additionally,X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the SCBA had favorable chemical properties for a pozzolanic material.Furthermore,SCBA replaced samples at all ages showed improved resistance against acidic attack relative to that of the control mortars.Maximum deterioration was seen for 3%concentrated solution.This study’s findings demonstrated that SCBA with an appropriate fineness could be used as a pozzolanic material,consistently with ASTM C 618.展开更多

Methods In 12 healthy control cases, 28 non-diabetic hypertension (nNIDDM +H) cases and 25 type 2 diabetic hypertension (NIDDM+H) cases, uric acid (UA) levels were measured with uricase-peroxidase method. Arteriole resistance index (RI) and pulsate index (PI) in separate sections of renal artery included MAR, SRA, IRA were detected using CDEI with 2.1~4.2 Hz Doppler transducer in kidneys. Results In comparison, UA was significantly higher in non-diabetic hyper- tension group and diabetic hypertension group than in control group (P<0.01, separately). UA levels was also significantly higher in NIDDM+H group than in nNIDDM+H, P < 0.029. RI in separate sections of renal artery was significantly higher in nNIDDM+H, or NIDDM+H group than in control group ( all P < 0.01) , and it was significantly higher in NIDDM +H than nNIDDM+H groups (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01). In nNIDDM +H and NIDDM +H groups UA levels and IRA-RI could be elevated significantly following with the impaired heart function being aggravated (χ2 = 13.028, P=0.005, χ2=13.29, P=0.004); the dosage of HCT being increased (χ2 =14.216, P=0.001, χ2 = 14.661, P=0.001); the levels of GHbA1 being excessed unnormally (P=0.000). The correlation between UA and IRA-RI in both hypertension groups were directly related, in nNIDDM+H group r=0.842, P=0.000, in NIDDM+H group, r=0.797, P=0.000. Conclusions Uric acid levels and IRA-RI in hyper-tension patients were directly related. Uric acid levels and IRA-RI could be partly dependent on the severity of heart dysfunction, diuretic dose, and serum glucose status of diabete patients in long-term. Uric acid and the xanthine oxidase metabolic pathway may contribute to impaired regulation of arteriole tone in hypertension patients.展开更多

Both potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss measurement tests indicated that corrosion resistance of these three alloy steels was as follows: ND ~ S-TEN1 〉 SPA-C. Surface analysis of the corroded samples conducted after the immersion test indicated that two layers were formed on the substrates, with the outer layer comprising FeSO4. H20 and the inner layer mainly comprising iron oxides. The addition of Cu, Cr, and Sb refined the corrosion products and improved the adhesion ability between the rust layer and the substrate.展开更多

The regenerants were selected basing on selective media with sublethal acidity (pH 3.5). The thrice-repeated passaging of sugar beet microclones of two genotypes in low pH medium causes certain alterations in the cellular metabolism. The paper demonstrated that peroxidase (POD) and isocitrate lyase (ICL) activity increased in both varieties. At the same time, NADH-dehydrogenase (NADH-DH) activity decreased in hybrid plants. Glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase (gl-6-ph-dh) activity increased in mail sterile (MS) hybrid plants, but reduced in Ramonskaya fertile (RF) hybrid plants. Adaptation to reduced pH was accompanied by alterations in the isozyme spectra of POD, 1- and 2-esterase, cytochrome c oxidase and malic enzyme (ME). The adaptation process of sugar beet regenerants was also accompanied by an increase in protein synthesis. The level of metabolic response to stress very much depended on the initial genotype of the hybrid. In this experiment, aluminium resistant plants were growing rapidly in selective media. To study the difference between the acid resistance of S. mutans Ingbritt C international standard strain and the acid resistance of LuxS mutant strain. Methods: Two DNA fragments locating in the upper and downstream of Luxs gene were amplified and a erythromycin resistance gene of PJT10 between them were engineered into PUC19 plasmid for constructing the recombination plasmid pUCluxKO. Electrotransformation of S.mutans cells with pUCluxKO-mutant resulted in isolation of erythromycin resistant S. mutans transformants, which was identified by polymerase chain reaction, V.harveyi BB170 luminescence bioassay and sequencing analysis. Solutions of S. mutans standard strain and LuxS mutant strain with same density were made and cultured at pH 3.5 to 7.0 BHI liquid for the same period.Terminal growth situation was compared.Firstly acidized in pH 5.5 BHI liquid,the two strains were cultured at pH 3.0 BHI liquid. The acid tolerance responses of the two strains were compared.Results:Restriction endonuclease analyses showed that pUCluxKO-mutant vector had been successfully recombined. The Luxs-deleted status of S.mutans mutants was confirmed by PCR with primers which were specific for the genes of Luxs and Erythromycin resistance. S.mutans mutant can not induce bioluminescence, indiating the mutant had been successfully recombined. After twenty generations of culture, the constructed Chinese S.mutans mutants were confirmed to be stable. Significant difference of aciduricity was observed between S.mutans standard strain and LuxS mutant strain.The acid resistance of standard strain was stronger than that of LuxS mutant strain.The two strains both displayed the capability of acid tolerance responses. Conclusion:The S.mutans gene allelic exchange plasmid is constructed correctively and a Luxs-negative mutants of S.mutans is constructed, which can help to further study the role of Luxs in the pathogenesis of S.mutans. LuxS mutant strain is more sensitive to acid inactivation,but the capability of acid tolerance responses exist still.展开更多
CO_(2) flooding is a vital development method for enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs,However,micro-fractures are developed in low-permeability reservoirs,which are essential oil flow channels but can...CO_(2) flooding is a vital development method for enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs,However,micro-fractures are developed in low-permeability reservoirs,which are essential oil flow channels but can also cause severe CO_(2) gas channeling problems.Therefore,anti-gas channeling is a necessary measure to improve the effect of CO_(2) flooding.The kind of anti-gas channeling refers to the plugging of fractures in the deep formation to prevent CO_(2) gas channeling,which is different from the wellbore leakage.Polymer microspheres have the characteristics of controllable deep plugging,which can achieve the profile control of low-permeability fractured reservoirs.In acidic environments with supercritical CO_(2),traditional polymer microspheres have poor expandability and plugging properties.Based on previous work,a systematic evaluation of the expansion performance,dispersion rheological properties,stability,deep migration,anti-CO_(2) channeling and enhanced oil recovery ability of a novel acid-resistant polymer microsphere(DCNPM-A)was carried out under CQ oilifield conditions(salinity of85,000 mg/L,80℃,pH=3).The results show that the DCNPM-A microsphere had a better expansion performance than the traditional microsphere,with a swelling rate of 13.5.The microsphere dispersion with a concentration of 0.1%-0.5%had the advantages of low viscosity,high dispersion and good injectability in the low permeability fractured core.In the acidic environment of supercritical CO_(2),DCNPM-A microspheres showed excellent stability and could maintain strength for over 60 d with less loss.In core experiments,DCNPM-A microspheres exhibited delayed swelling characteristics and could effectively plug deep formations.With a plugging rate of 95%,the subsequent enhanced oil recovery of CO_(2) flooding could reach 21.03%.The experimental results can provide a theoretical basis for anti-CO_(2)channeling and enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability fractured reservoirs.展开更多

Resistance to gastric acid environment was estimated by measuring the percentage of survived bacterial cells after exposure for 2 h to a synthetic gastric juice. Strains were analyzed with PCR for the presence of the following virulence genes: mgtC and rhu M located on SPI-3, sopB and pipB located on SPI-5, Salmonella virulence plasmid(spv)R(spvR), spvB and spvC located on Salmonella plasmid virulence and sodCI, sopE, and gipA located on prophage.Finally, resistance to 21 antibiotics was tested with Kirby–Bauer method.Results: A percentage of 82.60% of strains were resistant to gastric environment after induction and 60.87% of the strains exhibited constitutive resistance too. Nineteen different virulence profiles were detected. The phage related genes sodCI and sopE and the plasmid mediated operon spvR, spvB and spvC(spvRBC) were detected in 82.60%,47.82% and 52.17% of strains, respectively. Typhimurium and Enteritidis strains showed the highest number of virulence genes. Twenty-one different antibiotic resistance profiles were obtained and two isolates(Typhimurium and Enteritidis) resulted sensible to all the tested molecules. The ampicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamide and tetracycline resistance profile was detected in seven isolates(30.43%).Conclusion: Our results show that paratyphoid Salmonella strains with several characters of pathogenicity, that may be cause of severe pathology in animals and humans, are circulating among poultry.展开更多

The phosphogypsum particles coated with organic emulsion were prepared by coating three kinds of organic emulsion of silicone-acrylic,styrene-acrylic and acrylic.The structure and mineralogical characteristics,acid an...The phosphogypsum particles coated with organic emulsion were prepared by coating three kinds of organic emulsion of silicone-acrylic,styrene-acrylic and acrylic.The structure and mineralogical characteristics,acid and alkali resistance,water resistance and dissociation degree of coated phosphogypsum were studied by means of SEM-EDAX,optical microscope,gravimetric analysis and chemical detection.The results showed that the initial emulsion can be used directly for coating and granulation of phosphogypsum.The spray re-coating was carried out by using diluted emulsion with the water-to-emulsion mass ratio of 1∶1.The organic emulsion coated phosphogypsum crystal can be clearly observed,and the mixing zone at internal boundary between the organic emulsion and phosphogypsum crystal was distinguishable under the optical microscope.SEM photos showed that the surface of coated phosphogypsum particles was smooth.And the basic elements of C,O,S and Ca can be detected by EDAX.Organic emulsion can be solidified into film-network between the phosphogypsum crystals inside of the coated particles,and it can play a protective role in improving the acid resistance,alkali resistance and water resistance of phosphogypsum,and reduce the degree of dissociation of phosphogypsum in water.展开更多

METHODS: Within 24 h of intensive care ...AIM: To investigate the effect of intensive vs conventional insulin therapy on perioperative nutritional substrates metabolism in patients undergoing radical distal gastrectomy. METHODS: Within 24 h of intensive care unit management, patients with gastric cancer were enrolled after written informed consent and randomized to the intensive insulin therapy (IIT) group to keep glucose levels from 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/L or the conventional insulin therapy (CIT) group to keep levels less than 10 mmol/L. Resting energy expenditure (REE), respiratory quotient (RQ), resting energy expenditure per kilogram (REE/kg), and the lipid oxidation rate were monitored by the indirect calorimeter of calcium citrate malate nutrition metabolism investigation system. The changes in body composition were analyzed by multi-frequency bioimpedance analysis. Blood fasting glucose and insulin concentration were measured for assessment of Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance. RESULTS: Sixty patients were enrolled. Compared with preoperative baseline, postoperative REE increased by over 22.15% and 11.07%; REE/kg rose up to 27.22 ± 1.33 kcal/kg and 24.72 ± 1.43 kcal/kg; RQ decreased to 0.759 ± 0.034 and 0.791 ± 0.037; the lipid oxidation ratio was up to 78.25% ± 17.74% and 67.13% ± 12.76% supported by parenteral nutrition solutions from 37.56% ± 11.64% at the baseline; the level of Ln-HOMA-IR went up dramatically (P < 0.05, respectively) on postoperative days 1 and 3 in the IIT group. Meanwhile the concentration of total protein, albumin and triglyceride declined significantly on postoperative days 1 and 3 compared with pre-operative levels (P < 0.05, respectively). Compared with the CIT group, IIT reduced the REE/kg level (27.22 ± 1.33 kcal/kg vs 29.97 ± 1.47 kcal/kg, P = 0.008; 24.72 ± 1.43 kcal/kg vs 25.66 ± 1.63 kcal/kg, P = 0.013); and decreased the Ln-HOMA-IR score (P = 0.019, 0.028) on postoperative days 1 and 3; IIT decreased the level of CRP on postoperative days 1 and 3 (P = 0.017, 0.006); the total protein and albumin concentrations in the IIT group were greater than those in the CIT group (P = 0.023, 0.009). Postoperative values of internal cell fluid (ICF), fat mass, protein mass (PM), muscle mass, free fat mass and body weight decreased obviously on postoperative 7th day compared with the preoperative baseline in the CIT group (P < 0.05, respectively). IIT reduced markedly consumption of fat mass, PM and ICF compared with CIT (P = 0.009 to 0.026). CONCLUSION: There were some benefits of IIT in decreasing the perioperative insulin resistance state, reducing energy expenditure and consumption of proteins and lipids tissue in patients undergoing gastrectomy.展开更多
High prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and very diverse outcomes that are related to disease form and severity at presentation have made the search for noninvasive diagnostic tools in NAFLD one o...High prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and very diverse outcomes that are related to disease form and severity at presentation have made the search for noninvasive diagnostic tools in NAFLD one of the areas with most intense development in hepatology today.Various methods have been investigated in the recent years,including imaging methods like ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging,different forms of liver stiffness measurement,various biomarkers of necroinflammatory processes (acute phase reactants,cytokines,markers of apoptosis),hyaluronic acid and other biomarkers of liver fibrosis.Multicomponent tests,scoring systems and diagnostic panels were also developed with the purposes of differentiating non-alcoholic steatohepatitis from simple steatosis or discriminating between various fibrosis stages.In all of the cases,performance of noninvasive methods was compared with liver biopsy,which is still considered to be a gold standard in diagnosis,but is by itself far from a perfect comparative measure.We present here the overview of the published data on various noninvasive diagnostic tools,some of which appear to be very promising,and we address as well some of still unresolved issues in this interesting field.展开更多

Here, we report the map...We previously reported a spotted-leaf mutant pelota(originally termed HM_(47)) in rice displaying arrested growth and enhanced resistance to multiple races of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. Here, we report the mapbased cloning of the causal gene OsPELOTA(originally termed spl^(HM47)). We identified a single base substitution from T to A at position 556 in the coding sequence of OsPELOTA, effectively mutating phenylalanine to isoleucine at position 186 in the translated protein sequence. Both functional complementation and over-expression could rescue the spotted-leaf phenotype. OsPELOTA, a paralogue to eukaryotic release factor 1(eRF_1), shows high sequence similarity to Drosophila Pelota and also localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and plasma membrane.OsPELOTA is constitutively expressed in roots, leaves,sheaths, stems, and panicles. Elevated levels of salicylic acid and decreased level of jasmonate were detected in the pelota mutant. RNA-seq analysis confirmed that genes responding to salicylic acid were upregulated in the mutant. Our results indicate that the rice PELOTA protein is involved in bacterial leaf blight resistance by activating the salicylic acid metabolic pathway.展开更多

文摘Effect of soil acidification on yield of late rice was studied and acid resistance of late rice varieties were compared with 23 late rice varieties as materials in Changsha County, Hunan Province. The results indicated that the difference in yield among varieties was obvious, yield in common field was among 5 226.6-9 202.1kg/hm^2, and yield in acidified field was among 3 643.2-7 714. 8 kg/hm^2. Compared with common field, yield of Yueyou 6135, Huayou 18, Jinyou 284 and Ⅱyou 46 increased by 3.24%-26.33% in acidified field, while yield of other varieties decreased by 2.04%-56.79% in acidified field. According to acidification sensitivity, Wufengyou T025, Jinchuyou No.148, Yueyou No.6135, Shenyou No.9586, Xiangfengyou No.103,Zhongyou No.288, Nongxiang No.18, Shanyou No.432, Ⅱ you No.6, and Zhong 9A/R10402 were sensitive to soil acidification; Wuyou No.308, Zhunliangyou No.608,Fengyuanyou No.227, Fengyou No.1167, Fengyuanyou No.299, T you No.272, and Zhong 9A/R9963 were moderately sensitive to soil acidification; Yueyou No.9113,Jinyou No.284, Shenyou No.9588, Huayou No.18, Ⅱ you No.46 and Ⅱ you No.3027 were slightly sensitive to soil acidification

文摘This study aims to evaluate the performance of silica fume(SF)and nano-silica(NS)on enhancing the sulfuric acid resistance of mortar mixtures.The NS and SF were added as substitutions for cement at various dosages.The cured samples were immersed in the sulfuric acid solution with a pH of 2 for 75 d.A compressive strength test and absorption and voids tests were conducted before sulfuric acid immersion.It was found that the addition of SF and NS reduced the volume of permeable voids and increased compressive strength.A thermo-gravimetric analysis was carried out to investigate the hydration of mixtures.The mixtures with SF showed a higher level of pozzolanic reaction compared with mixtures with NS.After the 75 d of immersion,the mixtures with 5%SF and 1%NS showed the best resistance against sulfuric acid because they showed the lowest mass change and length change.

文摘Small-cell HSY-S zeolite prepared by the gas-phase ultra-stable method had been researched and developed,and industrial preparation tests of HSY-S have been successfully carried out for the first time.The acid resistance of industrially prepared HSY-S was investigated by acid solutions with different pH values.The structures and properties of HSY-S and its acid-treated samples were characterized by XRD,XRF,BET,and IR.Results show that the HSY-S samples have the characteristics of high crystallinity,good stability,large specific surface area,and good acid resistance.

文摘Acid mine drainage presents an important threat to cementitious structures.This study is aimed at investigating the effect of cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs)on the acid resistance of cementitious composites.CNCs were added to mortar mixtures as additives at cement volume ratios of 0.2vol%,0.4vol%,1.0vol%,and 1.5vol%.After 28 d of standard curing,the samples were immersed in a sulfuric acid with a pH value of 2 for 75 d.The unconfined compressive strength(UCS)test,the density,water absorption,void volume test,and thermogravimetric analysis were carried out to investigate the properties of CNC mixtures before sulfuric acid immersion.It was found that the addition of CNC reduced the volume of permeable voids and increased the hydration degree and mechanical strength of the samples.Changes in mass and length were monitored during immersion to evaluate the acid resistance of mixtures.The mixture with 0.4vol%CNC showed a reduced mass change and length change indicating its improved acid resistance.

文摘In this study,the two-stage upflow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB)system and batch experiments were employed to evaluate the performance of anaerobic digestion for the treatment of high concentration methanol wastewater.The acid resistance of granular sludge and methanogenic bacteria and their metabolizing activity were investigated.The results show that the pH of the first UASB changed from 4.9 to 5.8 and 5.5 to 6.2 for the second reactor.Apparently,these were not the advisable pH levels that common metha-nogenic bacteria could accept.The methanogenic bacteria of the system,viz.Methanosarcina barkeri,had some acid resis-tance and could still degrade methanol at pH 5.0.If the meth-anogenic bacteria were trained further,their acid resistance would be improved somewhat.Granular sludge of the system could protect the methanogenic bacteria within its body against the impact of the acidic environment and make them degrade methanol at pH 4.5.The performance of granular sludge was attributed to its structure,bacteria species,and the distribution of bacterium inside the granule.
文摘This paper addresses the potential use of Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash(SCBA)as a pozzolanic material for partial cement replacement in concrete mixtures.Cement mortars containing SCBA having five different particle size distributions at a replacement rate of 20%by weight were used to study the chemical and physical pozzolanic properties of SCBA.The durability of SCBA replaced mortars was also evaluated.SCBA with 0%retained on sieve No.325 was used to replace 20%by weight of cement and create mortar specimens that were subjected to sulfuric acid attack of varying concentrations(1%–3%by weight of water).The tested samples were observed to check visual distortion,mass loss,and compressive strength loss at 1,7,14,28,and 56 d of acidic exposure,and the results were compared to those for the control sample,that was lime water cured,at the same ages.The SCBA sets were found to meet the requirements for pozzolan class N specified by ASTM C 618.Mortars containing SCBA with 0%or 15%retention produced better compressive strength than the control mortars after 28 d.Additionally,X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the SCBA had favorable chemical properties for a pozzolanic material.Furthermore,SCBA replaced samples at all ages showed improved resistance against acidic attack relative to that of the control mortars.Maximum deterioration was seen for 3%concentrated solution.This study’s findings demonstrated that SCBA with an appropriate fineness could be used as a pozzolanic material,consistently with ASTM C 618.
文摘Objectives To investigate the relationship between serum uric acid levels and arteriole resistance detected with the color Doppler energy imaging (CDEI) and to explore the risks of impaired regulation of vascular tone by uric acid in kidneys of hypertension patients. Methods In 12 healthy control cases, 28 non-diabetic hypertension (nNIDDM +H) cases and 25 type 2 diabetic hypertension (NIDDM+H) cases, uric acid (UA) levels were measured with uricase-peroxidase method. Arteriole resistance index (RI) and pulsate index (PI) in separate sections of renal artery included MAR, SRA, IRA were detected using CDEI with 2.1~4.2 Hz Doppler transducer in kidneys. Results In comparison, UA was significantly higher in non-diabetic hyper- tension group and diabetic hypertension group than in control group (P<0.01, separately). UA levels was also significantly higher in NIDDM+H group than in nNIDDM+H, P < 0.029. RI in separate sections of renal artery was significantly higher in nNIDDM+H, or NIDDM+H group than in control group ( all P < 0.01) , and it was significantly higher in NIDDM +H than nNIDDM+H groups (P < 0.05 and P < 0.01). In nNIDDM +H and NIDDM +H groups UA levels and IRA-RI could be elevated significantly following with the impaired heart function being aggravated (χ2 = 13.028, P=0.005, χ2=13.29, P=0.004); the dosage of HCT being increased (χ2 =14.216, P=0.001, χ2 = 14.661, P=0.001); the levels of GHbA1 being excessed unnormally (P=0.000). The correlation between UA and IRA-RI in both hypertension groups were directly related, in nNIDDM+H group r=0.842, P=0.000, in NIDDM+H group, r=0.797, P=0.000. Conclusions Uric acid levels and IRA-RI in hyper-tension patients were directly related. Uric acid levels and IRA-RI could be partly dependent on the severity of heart dysfunction, diuretic dose, and serum glucose status of diabete patients in long-term. Uric acid and the xanthine oxidase metabolic pathway may contribute to impaired regulation of arteriole tone in hypertension patients.

文摘Block copolymer polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid)(PS-b-PAA) was used as structural template for the synthesis of CaCO3 microparticles. Through this procedure, acid resistant hybrid CaCO3 micro- spheres were obtained. Acid resistant properties of this type of hybrid CaCO3 were studied. Size measurement shows that the acid resistant properties of the hybrid particles are different in different solutions, such as HCl, EDTA, and H2SO4 solutions.
文摘The corrosion behavior of a weathering steel SPA-C and two acid resistance steels( S-TEN1 and ND)in sulfuric acid solution was investigated by using potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss measurement techniques. Both potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss measurement tests indicated that corrosion resistance of these three alloy steels was as follows: ND ~ S-TEN1 〉 SPA-C. Surface analysis of the corroded samples conducted after the immersion test indicated that two layers were formed on the substrates, with the outer layer comprising FeSO4. H20 and the inner layer mainly comprising iron oxides. The addition of Cu, Cr, and Sb refined the corrosion products and improved the adhesion ability between the rust layer and the substrate.
文摘The aim of the paper was to study the metabolite profile and morphological characteristics of sugar beet regenerants exposed to aluminium ions (Al^3+). The regenerants were selected basing on selective media with sublethal acidity (pH 3.5). The thrice-repeated passaging of sugar beet microclones of two genotypes in low pH medium causes certain alterations in the cellular metabolism. The paper demonstrated that peroxidase (POD) and isocitrate lyase (ICL) activity increased in both varieties. At the same time, NADH-dehydrogenase (NADH-DH) activity decreased in hybrid plants. Glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase (gl-6-ph-dh) activity increased in mail sterile (MS) hybrid plants, but reduced in Ramonskaya fertile (RF) hybrid plants. Adaptation to reduced pH was accompanied by alterations in the isozyme spectra of POD, 1- and 2-esterase, cytochrome c oxidase and malic enzyme (ME). The adaptation process of sugar beet regenerants was also accompanied by an increase in protein synthesis. The level of metabolic response to stress very much depended on the initial genotype of the hybrid. In this experiment, aluminium resistant plants were growing rapidly in selective media. They developed leaves with healthy petioles and blades and had strong root systems.
文摘Objective: To knock out the entire Luxs gene of Streptococcus mutans(S.mutans) UA159 strain via homologous recombination and construct a Luxs-deleted mutant strain of S. mutans. To study the difference between the acid resistance of S. mutans Ingbritt C international standard strain and the acid resistance of LuxS mutant strain. Methods: Two DNA fragments locating in the upper and downstream of Luxs gene were amplified and a erythromycin resistance gene of PJT10 between them were engineered into PUC19 plasmid for constructing the recombination plasmid pUCluxKO. Electrotransformation of S.mutans cells with pUCluxKO-mutant resulted in isolation of erythromycin resistant S. mutans transformants, which was identified by polymerase chain reaction, V.harveyi BB170 luminescence bioassay and sequencing analysis. Solutions of S. mutans standard strain and LuxS mutant strain with same density were made and cultured at pH 3.5 to 7.0 BHI liquid for the same period.Terminal growth situation was compared.Firstly acidized in pH 5.5 BHI liquid,the two strains were cultured at pH 3.0 BHI liquid. The acid tolerance responses of the two strains were compared.Results:Restriction endonuclease analyses showed that pUCluxKO-mutant vector had been successfully recombined. The Luxs-deleted status of S.mutans mutants was confirmed by PCR with primers which were specific for the genes of Luxs and Erythromycin resistance. S.mutans mutant can not induce bioluminescence, indiating the mutant had been successfully recombined. After twenty generations of culture, the constructed Chinese S.mutans mutants were confirmed to be stable. Significant difference of aciduricity was observed between S.mutans standard strain and LuxS mutant strain.The acid resistance of standard strain was stronger than that of LuxS mutant strain.The two strains both displayed the capability of acid tolerance responses. Conclusion:The S.mutans gene allelic exchange plasmid is constructed correctively and a Luxs-negative mutants of S.mutans is constructed, which can help to further study the role of Luxs in the pathogenesis of S.mutans. LuxS mutant strain is more sensitive to acid inactivation,but the capability of acid tolerance responses exist still.

文摘CO_(2) flooding is a vital development method for enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability reservoirs,However,micro-fractures are developed in low-permeability reservoirs,which are essential oil flow channels but can also cause severe CO_(2) gas channeling problems.Therefore,anti-gas channeling is a necessary measure to improve the effect of CO_(2) flooding.The kind of anti-gas channeling refers to the plugging of fractures in the deep formation to prevent CO_(2) gas channeling,which is different from the wellbore leakage.Polymer microspheres have the characteristics of controllable deep plugging,which can achieve the profile control of low-permeability fractured reservoirs.In acidic environments with supercritical CO_(2),traditional polymer microspheres have poor expandability and plugging properties.Based on previous work,a systematic evaluation of the expansion performance,dispersion rheological properties,stability,deep migration,anti-CO_(2) channeling and enhanced oil recovery ability of a novel acid-resistant polymer microsphere(DCNPM-A)was carried out under CQ oilifield conditions(salinity of85,000 mg/L,80℃,pH=3).The results show that the DCNPM-A microsphere had a better expansion performance than the traditional microsphere,with a swelling rate of 13.5.The microsphere dispersion with a concentration of 0.1%-0.5%had the advantages of low viscosity,high dispersion and good injectability in the low permeability fractured core.In the acidic environment of supercritical CO_(2),DCNPM-A microspheres showed excellent stability and could maintain strength for over 60 d with less loss.In core experiments,DCNPM-A microspheres exhibited delayed swelling characteristics and could effectively plug deep formations.With a plugging rate of 95%,the subsequent enhanced oil recovery of CO_(2) flooding could reach 21.03%.The experimental results can provide a theoretical basis for anti-CO_(2)channeling and enhanced oil recovery in low-permeability fractured reservoirs.
文摘In order to provide a new utilization method for cadmium-contaminated rice,a preliminary study of the removal of rice starch cadmium by water,calcium hydroxide,sodium hydroxide and citric acid was conducted,the damage degree of starch was compared by SEM,and then the recombinant rice was obtained by a twin-screw extruder using the starch which met the safety standard.The physical and chemical properties of recombinant rice were analyzed by acid hydrolysis and texture analyzer.The results showed that citric acid was a good rice cadmium removal agent.The quality of recombinant rice prepared from cadmium-removed rice starch was improved;the acid resistance was increased.Heavy metal contaminated rice can be a staple food with better quality and higher value through processing.
文摘Objective: To investigate some pathogenic characters of Salmonella enterica strains isolated from poultry.Methods: Twenty-three genetically distinct Salmonella enterica strains, of different serovars and pulsotype, were examined for virulence traits. Resistance to gastric acid environment was estimated by measuring the percentage of survived bacterial cells after exposure for 2 h to a synthetic gastric juice. Strains were analyzed with PCR for the presence of the following virulence genes: mgtC and rhu M located on SPI-3, sopB and pipB located on SPI-5, Salmonella virulence plasmid(spv)R(spvR), spvB and spvC located on Salmonella plasmid virulence and sodCI, sopE, and gipA located on prophage.Finally, resistance to 21 antibiotics was tested with Kirby–Bauer method.Results: A percentage of 82.60% of strains were resistant to gastric environment after induction and 60.87% of the strains exhibited constitutive resistance too. Nineteen different virulence profiles were detected. The phage related genes sodCI and sopE and the plasmid mediated operon spvR, spvB and spvC(spvRBC) were detected in 82.60%,47.82% and 52.17% of strains, respectively. Typhimurium and Enteritidis strains showed the highest number of virulence genes. Twenty-one different antibiotic resistance profiles were obtained and two isolates(Typhimurium and Enteritidis) resulted sensible to all the tested molecules. The ampicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamide and tetracycline resistance profile was detected in seven isolates(30.43%).Conclusion: Our results show that paratyphoid Salmonella strains with several characters of pathogenicity, that may be cause of severe pathology in animals and humans, are circulating among poultry.

文摘The phosphogypsum particles coated with organic emulsion were prepared by coating three kinds of organic emulsion of silicone-acrylic,styrene-acrylic and acrylic.The structure and mineralogical characteristics,acid and alkali resistance,water resistance and dissociation degree of coated phosphogypsum were studied by means of SEM-EDAX,optical microscope,gravimetric analysis and chemical detection.The results showed that the initial emulsion can be used directly for coating and granulation of phosphogypsum.The spray re-coating was carried out by using diluted emulsion with the water-to-emulsion mass ratio of 1∶1.The organic emulsion coated phosphogypsum crystal can be clearly observed,and the mixing zone at internal boundary between the organic emulsion and phosphogypsum crystal was distinguishable under the optical microscope.SEM photos showed that the surface of coated phosphogypsum particles was smooth.And the basic elements of C,O,S and Ca can be detected by EDAX.Organic emulsion can be solidified into film-network between the phosphogypsum crystals inside of the coated particles,and it can play a protective role in improving the acid resistance,alkali resistance and water resistance of phosphogypsum,and reduce the degree of dissociation of phosphogypsum in water.

文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of intensive vs conventional insulin therapy on perioperative nutritional substrates metabolism in patients undergoing radical distal gastrectomy. METHODS: Within 24 h of intensive care unit management, patients with gastric cancer were enrolled after written informed consent and randomized to the intensive insulin therapy (IIT) group to keep glucose levels from 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/L or the conventional insulin therapy (CIT) group to keep levels less than 10 mmol/L. Resting energy expenditure (REE), respiratory quotient (RQ), resting energy expenditure per kilogram (REE/kg), and the lipid oxidation rate were monitored by the indirect calorimeter of calcium citrate malate nutrition metabolism investigation system. The changes in body composition were analyzed by multi-frequency bioimpedance analysis. Blood fasting glucose and insulin concentration were measured for assessment of Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance. RESULTS: Sixty patients were enrolled. Compared with preoperative baseline, postoperative REE increased by over 22.15% and 11.07%; REE/kg rose up to 27.22 ± 1.33 kcal/kg and 24.72 ± 1.43 kcal/kg; RQ decreased to 0.759 ± 0.034 and 0.791 ± 0.037; the lipid oxidation ratio was up to 78.25% ± 17.74% and 67.13% ± 12.76% supported by parenteral nutrition solutions from 37.56% ± 11.64% at the baseline; the level of Ln-HOMA-IR went up dramatically (P < 0.05, respectively) on postoperative days 1 and 3 in the IIT group. Meanwhile the concentration of total protein, albumin and triglyceride declined significantly on postoperative days 1 and 3 compared with pre-operative levels (P < 0.05, respectively). Compared with the CIT group, IIT reduced the REE/kg level (27.22 ± 1.33 kcal/kg vs 29.97 ± 1.47 kcal/kg, P = 0.008; 24.72 ± 1.43 kcal/kg vs 25.66 ± 1.63 kcal/kg, P = 0.013); and decreased the Ln-HOMA-IR score (P = 0.019, 0.028) on postoperative days 1 and 3; IIT decreased the level of CRP on postoperative days 1 and 3 (P = 0.017, 0.006); the total protein and albumin concentrations in the IIT group were greater than those in the CIT group (P = 0.023, 0.009). Postoperative values of internal cell fluid (ICF), fat mass, protein mass (PM), muscle mass, free fat mass and body weight decreased obviously on postoperative 7th day compared with the preoperative baseline in the CIT group (P < 0.05, respectively). IIT reduced markedly consumption of fat mass, PM and ICF compared with CIT (P = 0.009 to 0.026). CONCLUSION: There were some benefits of IIT in decreasing the perioperative insulin resistance state, reducing energy expenditure and consumption of proteins and lipids tissue in patients undergoing gastrectomy.
文摘High prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and very diverse outcomes that are related to disease form and severity at presentation have made the search for noninvasive diagnostic tools in NAFLD one of the areas with most intense development in hepatology today.Various methods have been investigated in the recent years,including imaging methods like ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging,different forms of liver stiffness measurement,various biomarkers of necroinflammatory processes (acute phase reactants,cytokines,markers of apoptosis),hyaluronic acid and other biomarkers of liver fibrosis.Multicomponent tests,scoring systems and diagnostic panels were also developed with the purposes of differentiating non-alcoholic steatohepatitis from simple steatosis or discriminating between various fibrosis stages.In all of the cases,performance of noninvasive methods was compared with liver biopsy,which is still considered to be a gold standard in diagnosis,but is by itself far from a perfect comparative measure.We present here the overview of the published data on various noninvasive diagnostic tools,some of which appear to be very promising,and we address as well some of still unresolved issues in this interesting field.

OsPELOTA, a paralogue to eukaryotic release factor 1(eRF_1), shows high sequence similarity to Drosophila Pelota and also localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and plasma membrane.OsPELOTA is constitutively expressed in roots, leaves,sheaths, stems, and panicles. Elevated levels of salicylic acid and decreased level of jasmonate were detected in the pelota mutant. RNA-seq analysis confirmed that genes responding to salicylic acid were upregulated in the mutant. Our results indicate that the rice PELOTA protein is involved in bacterial leaf blight resistance by activating the salicylic acid metabolic pathway.
