On the Translation of Iconography of the Decorated Writing-Paper of the Ten Bamboo Studio Based on the Theory of Translational Action

Based on the theory of translational action of the functionalism,this paper selects three aspects,translation as an inter-cultural and communicative action,a purposeful text-processing action and an inter-personal action,to analyze the important issues as well as the translation strategies,methods and techniques adopted in the translation of Chinese allusions.The study shows that the theory of translational action is important for the translation of allusions and that it helps to modify the target text.The translator,also the author of this paper,hopes that this study will be useful for the translation of allusions and the publicity of traditional Chinese culture across the world.

Predicting Fintech Innovation Adoption:the Mediator Role of Social Norms and Attitudes

Digital innovation is challenging the traditional way of offering financial services to companies;the so-called Fintech phenomenon refers to startups that use the latest technologies to offer innovative financial services.Within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)and the Theory of Reasoned Action(TRA),the primary purpose of this paper is to develop a causal-predictive analysis of the relationship between Subjective Norms,Attitudes,and Perceived Behavioral Control with the Intention to Use and Behavioral Use of the Fintech services by companies.Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling methodology was used with data collected from a survey of 300 companies.Our findings support the TRA and TPB models and confirm their robustness in predicting companies’intention and use of Fintech services.Financial technology innovators must understand the processes involved in users’adoption to design sound strategies that increase the viability of their services.Studying the antecedents of behavioral intention to adopt Fintech services can greatly help understand the pace of adoption,allowing these players to attract and retain customers better.This study contributes to the literature by formulating and validating TPB to predict Fintech adoption,and its findings provide useful information for banks and Fintech companies and lead to an improvement in organizational performance management in formulating marketing strategies.

Motives Underlying Organic Food Consumption in Turkey： Impact of Health, Environment, and Consumer Values on Purchase Intentions

Raising ecological awareness and health concerns create question marks about healthiness and sustainability of conventional foods in customers＇ minds. Due to augmented mass media coverage of environmental problems, health concerns related to consumption of genetically modified food and/or chemical contaminants in food, and consumers＇ increasing interest in healthy nutrition and environmental protection, there is a growing interest for organic foods in all over the world. Growing interest for organic foods, and increasing production and demand in organic food market has made organic food consumption a significant topic of research. Although organic food market and demand for organic foods have also been growing in Turkey, literature regarding organic food consumption is not very extensive. Therefore, this study aims to understand the underlying motives for organic food consumption in Turkey, and to explore the factors affecting Turkish consumers＇ attitudes towards organic foods and the behavioral intention of Turkish consumers to purchase organic food by the help of the theory of reasoned action （TRA）. The results of 622 successful surveys used for this empirical research indicate that Turkish consumers＇ attitudes towards organic foods are determined by perception of organic foods, consumer values, and price perception, while their purchase intention is determined by health consciousness, perception of organic foods, consumer values, price perception, and environmental concerns.

Thermodynamic evaluation of reaction abilities of structural units in Fe-C binary melts based on atom-molecule coexistence theory

The reaction abilities of structural units in Fe-C binary melts over a temperature range above the liquidus lines have been evaluated by a thermodynamic model for calculating the mass action concentrations Ni of structural units in Fe-C binary melts based on the atom-molecule coexistence theory （AMCT）, i.e., the AMCT-N/model, through comparing with the predicted activities aR.i of both C and Fe by 14 collected models from the literature at four temperatures of 1833, 1873, 1923, and 1973 K. Furthermore, the Raoultian activity coefficient γC0 of in infinitely dilute Fe-C binary melts and the standard molar Gibbs free energy change △solG%m,Cdis（1）→[C]W[C]=1.0 of dissolved liquid C for forming w[C] as 1.0 in Fe-C binary melts referred to 1 mass% of C as reference state have also been determined to be valid. The determined activity coefficient In γC of C and activity coefficient In TEe of Fe including temperature effect for Fe-C binary melts can be described by a quadratic polynomial function and a cubic polynomial function, respectively.

Private Club GMs＇/COOs＇ Perceptions in Adopting Social Media： Applying the Technology Acceptance Model

Social media have emerged as an important component of technology-mediated communications and many companies have been supporting the development of social networking sites as a part of brand communities （Kaplan ＆ Haenlein, 2010）. This study was undertaken to understand how private club general managers （GMs） and chief operating officers （COOs） perceive their ease of use, usefulness, and enjoyment of social media. Surveys were completed by attendees at the Club Managers Association of America Business Management Institute III （CMAA BMI III） executive development in Spring 2014 and Fall 2014. As one of a few empirical information technology （IT） studies in the context of the private club industry, the findings of this study are expected to provide baselines to academics and private club GMs/COOs in understanding the processes of social media technology adoption and acceptance in the private club industry.

Educational Opportunities for Rural and Urban Residents in China, 1978-2008: Inequality and Evolution

Despite the expansion of Chinese education and the steady rise in the educational level of urban and rural residents since reform and opening up, the problem of educational inequality has persisted. This study employs CGSS2008 data to test the effects of household registration, family socio-economic status, years of parental education, and sibship size on educational opportunity at the three stages of junior middle school, senior middle school and higher education, as well as the changes in these effects over the period 1978-2008. The results show that there is no observable rural-urban disparity in opportunities for continuation to the junior middle school stage, but there is rising inequality in opporUmities for continuation to senior middle school and higher education; the influence of father＇s occupational status on children＇s educational opportunities remains largely the same, indicating that the stratification of educational attainment has not changed markedly since 1978： years of varental education play a marked and increasing role in children＇s educational attainment; and educational inequality due to sibship size also displays a rising tendency. To understand the structure and evolution of inequality in Chinese education since reform and opening up, it is necessary to study the micro-level mechanisms affecting residents＇ educational decision-making.

Persistent low fertility among the East Asia descendants in the United States:perspectives and implications

We focus on a small but growing segment of the U.S.population,those who identify as Chinese,Japanese and Korean(CJK),and compare CJK fertility to other race/ethnic groups in the United States.CJK women in the U.S.exhibit a distinct,pervasive,and persistent pattern of late and low fertility with nearly all births occurring within marriage;this pattern displays a strong parallel to their counterparts in their countries of origin.To accompany this description,we offer a perspective on fertility difference that has broad applicability and that does not consistently predict that differences will disappear/remain.This discussion unites the literature on assimilation,segmented assimilation and pluralistic outcomes and processes.We also discuss the possible implications of these findings for country level policies to increase fertility.Most generally,these discussions are a corrective to demographer’s penchant for predicting secular change and convergence.
