Influence of ultrafine active mineral (DK mineral) on mechanical property of fly ash based load bearing aerocrete was analyzed. The result shows that the addition of DK mineral in a suitable amount can enhance obviously the compressive strength of aerocrete. According to the SEM EDS and X ray diffraction analyses, the crystal shapes of hydration products are well developed and interlocked for samples containing DK mineral. Its microstructure is denser than that of the samples without DK mineral. Having a good activation, the DK mineral makes both the type and the quantity of hydrated products be obviously superior to that of the contrast sample. 展开更多

A new type of filler named 'active mineral powder' (AMP) was introduced and applied in asphalt mixture in order to improve the adhesive property of gneiss or granite aggregates and asphalt. The treated mixtures contained 2% AMP by weight of the total aggregates as filler. The moisture stabilization properties of various combined mixtures were analyzed using the adhesive test,Marshall stability and indirect tensile strength tests. Five frost-thaw cycles test was conducted to further investigate the effect of active filler on asphalt mixtures in the indirect tensile strength experiment. The results show that active filler improves the moisture stability of mixtures with gneiss and granite. The active mechanism of AMP was also discussed in this paper. 展开更多

An active mineral filler produced in the laboratory is first used as an anti-stripping filler in the granite asphalt concrete. Four aggregate gradations were chosen in this study, and the effects of the active mineral filler and aggregates on the rutting resistance performance and fatigue properties of granite asphalt concrete were investigated by means of rutting test and four-point bending fatigue test. The results indicate that the dynamic stability of granite asphalt concrete increase significantly with the addition of active mineral filler and the fatigue properties can also be improved especially at lower strain level. Meanwhile, the results demonstrate that granite asphalt concrete has better rutting resistance performance and fatigue properties than limestone asphalt concrete. 展开更多

To reveal the influence of mechanical activation on the performance of fly ash, the microanalysis(the energy spectroscopy, XRD and SEM), the distribution size of particle of fly ash and cement paste intensity of various age for different grinding time were studied. The relationships of the activity and the composition of fly ash, microstructure and the distribution of particle size by mechanical activation of fly ash were obtained. The internal glass beads with activity were released by grinding fly ash for a certain time. The particle specific surface area was improved and the hydration reaction of the interface and the surface active center was increased by grinding. The granularity distributing of fly-ash trended towards optimization. The polar molecules or ions were easier to intrude into the internal cavity of the vitreous body. The active silica and alumina of fly ash were rapidly depolymerized. Each performance index of fly ash was increased before grinding for 20 min. Cement paste intensity of various age increased along with the grinding time, and the early strength increase range was big, but the later period intensity increase range hastened slightly. The internal part of vitreous of fly ash was destroyed if the fly ash continued to be ground and the activity of fly ash was reduced. It is suggested that Guozhuang's fly ash should be ground for 20 min. 展开更多

A pH dependent reduction in growth, Pigment, ATP content, O,' evolution, carbonfixation, Photosynthetic electron transport system, nutrient uptake (NO,' and NH4+),nitrate reductase, and ATPase activities and increase in K+ emux of Chlorella vulgaris wasnoticed following supplementation of Cu and Ni to the culture medium. PS II was foundto be more sensitive to both pH and metals than PS I. Though, nitrate reductase (NR) wasmore sensitive to both PH and metals, the ATPase was however, more sensitive t0 metalsbut less sensitive to acidic pH. Acid PH was found to dst the nutrient (NO,' and NH4+)uptake and nitrate reductase in a non-competitive manner. The inhibition Pnduced by thetest metals alone was of noncompetitive type for NO3' uptake, nitrate reductase andATPase and competitive for NH'+ uptake. Acidity not only inhibited the metabolicvariables directly but also through facilitated uptake of metals and increased membranepermeability. A very low sensitivity of ATPase to acidic pH seems to be resgnsible forthe survival of algae in acid environment. 展开更多

Mining activity in Brazil has significantly contributed to the country development. However, this contribution is not always fully noticed by society. This study aims to bring more evidence to this mining activity contribution, based on highly regarded development indicators, such as the HDI(Human Development Index),created by the UNDP(United Nations Development Programme). The HD1 was traditionally designed as an instrument to evaluate the degree of countries development and was subsequently deployed to states and municipalities(IDHM(Municipal Human Development Index)for Brazilian municipalities). In addition to lDHM released by the UNDP,FIRJAN(Federation of the Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro)developed its own IFDM(FIR JAN Municipal Development Index). The statistical analysis shows that the average of the municipalities with mining activities has superior development indices than those with non-mining activities, especially in the two major mining states:Minas Gerais and Parfi. 展开更多

Objective To determine whether interleukin-1α and 1β gene polymorphism is associated with rheumatoid arthritis disease activity and bone mineral metabolism, and whether there is any relationship between IL-1β and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) motif gene. Methods IL-1 gene polymorphisms were analyzed in 65 RA patients who met American College of Radiology (ACR) criteria and 60 controls. From genomic DNA, 2 polymorphisms in each gene for IL1α-889 and IL-1β+3953 were typed by PCR-RFLP and HLA-DRB1 allele typing was also undertaken by PCR-SSOP. Some clinical and laboratory parameters were collected. The allelic frequencies and carriage rates were compared between RA patients and controls and between patients with active and quiescent disease. Comparison was also made between IL-1 polymorphism and parameters of bone mineral metabolism and between patients with the HLA-DRB1 RA motif plus IL-1β 2 and patients without the two alleles. Fisher test and the analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. Results There was no significant difference in the frequency and carriage rate of IL-1α polymorphisms between RA patients and the controls. The β2/2 genotype of IL-1β was more common in female RA patients compared with controls (P=0.001). A lower carriage rate of IL-1β 2 occurred in male RA patients (P=0.001). A higher carriage rate of IL-1α2 is associated with a higher ESR (P=0.008), HAQ score (P=0.03), and vit-D 3 (P【0.001), but conversely a lower SJC (p=0.002), a lower RF (P=0.002) and a lower BMD at the lumbar spine (P=0.001). A higher frequency of IL-1α1 is associated with a lower CRP value (P=0.009). An increased IL-1β2 carriage is associated with active rheumatoid disease as indicated by a higher CRP (P【0.001), ESR (P【0.001) and pain score (P=0.001) and a higher BMD at the lumbar spine (P=0.007), lower vit-D 3 and. Udpd/Crea level The presence of the HLA DRB1 RA motif and IL-1β allele 2 at same time did not contribute to disease activity.Conclution Polymorphisms of the IL-β gene may affect the RA occurrence. Carriage of IL-1β2 polymorphisms is associated with more active disease in RA and the presence of both the IL-1α2 and the IL-1β1 allele in RA influences bone resorption. 展开更多
