In this study,a series of Co_3O_4/ mildly oxidized graphite oxide(mGO) nanocatalysts(Co_3O_4/ mGO-l,Co_3O_4/ mGO-2 and Co_3O_4/mGO-3) were synthesized through solvothermal method and used as a mediator for the heterog... In this study,a series of Co_3O_4/ mildly oxidized graphite oxide(mGO) nanocatalysts(Co_3O_4/ mGO-l,Co_3O_4/ mGO-2 and Co_3O_4/mGO-3) were synthesized through solvothermal method and used as a mediator for the heterogeneous peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation. The performance of CO_3O_4 / mGO/PMS system was investigated using acid orange 7(AO7).Results showed that Co_3O_4/mGO-3 had the best degradation efficiency of AO7 and the removal rate was above 90%in about 6 min.The phenomenon indicated the catalytic activity of Co_3O_4/mGO composites was related to the oxidation degree of graphite oxide(GO).In addition, experiments showed the content of Co_3O_4 had an effect on the catalytic activity. The composites were characterized with X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),FTIR,Raman,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).According to the charactrization and synergistic catalytic mechanism, the generation of Co—OH complexes found to be the initial step to activate PMS in the heterogeneous system of Co_3O_4/mGO hybrid. 展开更多

A batch experiment was conducted to investigate the adsorption of an acid dye(Acid Orange 51) and a basic dye(Safranine) from aqueous solutions by the sludge-based activated carbon(SBAC). The results show that the adsorption of Acid Orange 51 decreases at high p H values, whereas the uptake of Safranine is higher in neutral and alkaline solutions than that in acidic conditions. The adsorption time needed for Safranine to reach equilibrium is shorter than that for Acid Orange 51. The uptakes of the dyes both increase with temperature increasing, indicating that the adsorption process of the dyes onto SBAC is endothermic. The equilibrium data of the dyes are both best represented by the Redlich-Peterson model. At 25 °C, the maximum adsorption capacities of SBAC for Acid Orange 51 and Safranine are 248.70 mg/g and 525.84 mg/g, respectively. The Elovich model is found to best describe the adsorption process of both dyes, indicating that the rate-limiting step involves the chemisorption. It can be concluded that SBAC is a promising material for the removal of Acid Orange 51 and Safranine from aqueous solutions. 展开更多

A series of carbon nanotubes/TiO2 nanotubes (CNTs/TNTs) composite photocatalysts were successfully prepared by incorporation of CNTs in HNO3 washing process. These photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, N2 physical adsorption, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, TEM and Raman spectroscopy, respectively, and their photocatalytic activities were tested by using methyl orange (MO) as a model compound. Also, the effects of amount of CNTs incorporated, calcination temperature and amount of catalyst on the photocatalytic activity of the composite photocatalyst were systematically investigated. The results show that the CNTs/TNTs composite exhibits much higher photocatalytic activity than that of the TNTs or CNTs alone. 展开更多
