Designing single-atom catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)are fashionable but challenging to boost the zinc-air battery performance.Significantly enhanced ORR activity by manganese(Mn)singleatom catalysts can ...Designing single-atom catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)are fashionable but challenging to boost the zinc-air battery performance.Significantly enhanced ORR activity by manganese(Mn)singleatom catalysts can be achieved by accurately regulating the coordination number of isolated Mn atoms.Theoretical calculations indicate that the single Mn-N5sites possess lower free energy barrier and higher oxygen adsorption performance than single Mn-N4sites to accelerate the ORR kinetics.Target to it,here we synthesize an atomically dispersed Mn-N5catalyst by precisely axial coordination of pyridinic-N doped into two-dimensional(2D)porous nanocarbon sheets(~3.56 nm thickness),which reveals outstanding catalytic activity and ultrahigh stability for the ORR in zinc-air battery owing to the inhomogeneous charge distribution of Mn-N5sites compared to the conventional single-site Mn-N4catalyst and Pt/C.This work gives a new strategy for in situ regulating the electronic structure of metal single-atoms and further promoting the overall ORR performance in energy systems.展开更多

Franquet, i...Objective: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is highly invasive and metastatic, which is in urgent need of transformative therapeutics. Tubeimu(TBM), the rhizome of Bolbostemma paniculatum(Maxim.) Franquet, is one of the Chinese medicinal herbs used for breast diseases since the ancient times. The present study evaluated the efficacy, especially the anti-metastatic effects of the dichloromethane extract of Tubeimu(ETBM) on TNBC orthotopic mouse models and cell lines.Methods: We applied real-time imaging on florescent orthotopic TNBC mice model and tested cell migration and invasion abilities with MDA-MB-231 cell line. Digital gene expression sequencing was performed and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) analysis applied to explore the pathways influenced by ETBM.Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions(q RT-PCR) and Western blot were delivered to confirm the gene expression changes.Results: ETBM exhibited noticeable control on tumor metastasis and growth of TNBC tumors with no obvious toxicity. In compliance with this, it also showed inhibition of cell migration and invasion in vitro. Its impact on the changed biological behavior in TNBC may be a result of decreased expression of integrin β1(ITGβ1), integrin β8(ITGβ8) and Rho GTPase activating protein 5(ARHGAP5), which disabled the focal adhesion pathway and caused change in cell morphology.Conclusions: This study reveals that ETBM has anti-metastatic effects on MDA-MB-231-GFP tumor and may lead to a new therapeutic agent for the integrative treatment of highly invasive TNBC.展开更多
The genes for 5-1ipoxygenase activating protein (ALOX5AP) and phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D) have been demonstrated as susceptibility genes for lacunar in the Icelandic and Pakistani populations, but little is known...The genes for 5-1ipoxygenase activating protein (ALOX5AP) and phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D) have been demonstrated as susceptibility genes for lacunar in the Icelandic and Pakistani populations, but little is known about the role of these genes in Chinese populations. The present study utilized polymerase chain reaction and ligase detection reaction to detect single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 280 consecutive stroke patients and 258 unrelated population-based controls from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. The allele frequency, genotypes, and haplotypes of the two SNPs (rs456009 and rs966221) in PDE4D were similar between the two groups. However, A allele frequency of rs4073259 (A/G) and rs4769055 (A/C) in the ALOX5AP gene exhibited differences in two groups, and especially the haplotype of the SNP was significantly different between the two groups. Results suggested that the ALOX5AP gene might be involved in lacunar infarct, while PDE4D gene was not a risk factor for lacunar infarct in individuals from Jiangsu Province, China.展开更多

The crystal structures of 2 and 3 have been determined. Complex 2 belongs to the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a = 21.250(8), b = 10.837(4), c = 23.050(8) ?, b = 93.193(9)°, V = 5300(3) ?~3, Z = 8, D_c = 1.659 g/cm^3, m = 4.004 mm^(-1), F(000) = 2624, R = 0.0471 and wR = 0.1015. Complex 3 belongs to the monoclinic system, space group P21 with a = 10.3452(10), b = 18.7665(18), c = 12.1483(12) ?, b = 103.374(2)°, V = 2294.5(4) ?3, Z = 2, D_c = 1.542 g/cm^3, m = 2.923 mm^(-1), F(000) = 1072, R = 0.0428 and wR = 0.0936. Complex 2 has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with the axial locations occupied by one carboxylate oxygen and a phenolic oxygen of the ligand, and 3 reveals that the two tin atoms are joined via the carbonyl atom of the ligand to form a mixed organotin binuclear complex. Both the in vitro and the in vivo studies showed that the detected reductive speed of methemoglobin of the bleeding group was faster than that of the control group at all time intervals. At the same time, the NADH-cytochrome b5 methemoglobin reductase activity and the molybdenum content in erythrocytes of the bleeding group were significantly increased. Regressional analysis showed that there was a significantly positive correlation between the enzyme activity and the molybdenum content. The spectrum hardens when the source be...We analyze the spectral variability and spectral evolution in the optical en- ergy region by using multiband (BVRI) optical observations of S5 0716+714 spanning 1994 to 2005. The spectrum hardens when the source becomes brighter, which is con- sistent with general BL Lac objects. The spectral evolution parameter implies that the spectral variability is small in optical bands over 10 years. A simple model represent- ing the variability of a synchrotron component can explain the spectral changes. In addition, we employ the z-transformed discrete correlation function (ZDCF) to ana- lyze the optical multiband flux correlation. The long-term light curve behavior reveals that the variability time scales are 3.5 yr in the B-band, 3.3 yr in the V-band, 3.4 yr in the R-band and 3.5 yr in the/-band. The time lags between any two optical bands were not found when considering statistical errors.展开更多
