So, recent aware-context CF takes advantages of such information in order to improve the quality of recommendation. There are three main aware-context approaches: contextual pre-filtering, contextual post-filtering and contextual modeling. Each approach has individual strong points and drawbacks but there is a requirement of steady and fast inference model which supports the aware-context recommendation process. This paper proposes a new approach which discovers multivariate logistic regression model by mining both traditional rating data and contextual data. Logistic model is optimal inference model in response to the binary question “whether or not a user prefers a list of recommendations with regard to contextual condition”. Consequently, such regression model is used as a filter to remove irrelevant items from recommendations. The final list is the best recommendations to be given to users under contextual information. Moreover the searching items space of logistic model is reduced to smaller set of items so-called general user pattern (GUP). GUP supports logistic model to be faster in real-time response.展开更多

To give an improved support to mobile business professionals, it is necessary to go further than just allowing a simple remote access to a Business Intelligence platform. In this paper, the need for actual context-aware mobile Geospatial Business Intelligence (GeoBI) systems that can help capture, filter, organize and structure the user mobile context is exposed and justified. Furthermore, since capturing, structuring, and modeling mobile contextual information is still a research issue, a wide inventory of existing research work on context and mobile context is provided. Then, step by step, we methodologically identify relevant contextual information to capture for mobility purposes as well as for BI needs, organize them into context-dimensions, and build a hierarchical mobile GeoBI context model which (1) is geo-spatial-extended, (2) fits with human perception of mobility, (3) takes into account the local context interactions and information-sharing with remote contexts, and (4) matches with the usual hierarchical aggregated structure of BI data.展开更多

Boolean network is used for modeling complex system. In this paper, we have presented a model of a context-aware system used in smart home based on Boolean control networks. This modeling describes the relationship between the context elements (person, time, location, and activity) and services (Morning Call, Sleeping, Guarding, Entertainment, and normal), which is effective to logical inference. We apply semi tensor matrix product to describe the dynamic of the system. This matrix form of expression is a convenient and reasonable way to design logic control system.展开更多

The context information derived from a BSN can be used in pervasive healthcare monitoring for relating importance to events and specifically for accurate episode detection. In this paper, we address the issue of context-aware sensing in BSNs, and survey different techniques for deducing context awareness.展开更多

The integration between people and interconnected objects realizes a new physical and social space and opens new frontiers in context awareness and objects adaptation. In this paper we investigate the possibility of creating socially aware objects able to interact not only among themselves but also with human beings sharing the same environment. The main contribution of this work is to provide a knowledge model for social context-awareness and reasoning using an ontology-based context modeling, a user model and exploiting of social networks. This model is part of a larger framework called So Smart that aims at empowering networks of interconnected objects with social context awareness in order to improve their social interaction with people.展开更多

GeoBI context modelling and reasoning are still research issues since there is not yet either a model or a relevant taxonomy regarding GeoBI contextual information. To fill this gap, this paper proposes an extended and detailed OWL-based mobile GeoBI context ontology to provide context-aware applications and users with relevant contextual information and context-based reasoning capabilities. Context quality issues are handled an implementation architecture which is provided.展开更多

Ubiquitous offices, introduced by Weiser and adopted as emerging computational technology to support office works, have already affected the practice of companies and organizations. Within this context, this study deals with a work service model of the ubiquitous office environments by understanding human behaviors and works in their workspace. We propose a ubiquitous office model considering the correlation between ubiquitous computing technologies and work services in the office. Two attributes are emphasized, collaboration and mobility, as identifiers for categorizing the work types. The types of work services have variations in the amount of communication and the proportion of working outside of the office. The proposed work service model of the ubiquitous office includes territorial and non-territorial services to enable workers in and out of the office to interact with each other effectively. The findings in this paper would be a theoretical basis for embodying an intelligent office which supports office works efficiently.展开更多

Providing the right information for decision making considering different user-requirements, projects and situations is, however, a difficult issue. A frequently-neglected challenge is to cope with the influence of contextual issues affecting the success of outcomes and decisions. Particularly, when conducting quality evaluations in software organizations, it is of paramount importance to identify beforehand the contextual issues affecting outcomes and interpretations for measurement and evaluation projects. Therefore, the relevant context information should be clearly identified, specified and recorded for performing more robust analysis and recommendations. In this work, a domain-independent context model and a mechanism to integrate it to any application domain is presented. The context model is built upon a measurement and evaluation framework enabling quantification and semantic capabilities. The context model is then integrated in the mentioned framework itself to enable recommendations in meas- urement and evaluation projects.展开更多

These appli- cations recognize daily-life human activities, perceive the environment status related to the activities, and react to ensure the smooth performance of the activities. Existing research proposed a specific light-weight, incremental method to support the development of such applications; however it is not easy to learn and use. This paper aims to facilitate the development of such applications and improve the productivity of developers. We propose AocML, a textual domain-specific language which provides a high-level abstraction of AOCA applications. Specifically, we first show the software model of AOCA applications and the abstract syntax of AocML. Then, we introduce the concrete syntax of AocML. We also implement the tools for AocML, including the development environment as well as the generation of Java code and ontology specification. Moreover, we use a case study and evaluation to demonstrate the advantages of AocML.展开更多
