Methods: Ninety five cases of allergic rhinitis patients were randomized into acupuncture plus acupoint injection group (treatment group, n=40), acupuncture group (control group A, n=30) and muscular injection group (control group B, n=25). Yingxiang (LI 20), Yintang (EX HN 3), Baihui (GV 20), Fengchi (GB 20), Fengmen (BL 12), Feishu (BL 13), etc. were used. Results: Following 20 days’ treatment, of the 40, 30 and 25 cases of allergic rhinitis in treatment, control A and B groups, 16 (40.0%), 8 (26.7%) and 0 were cured, 22 (55.0%), 14 (46.7%) and 4 (16.0%) experienced improvement in their symptoms and signs, and 2 (5.0%), 8 (26.7%) and 21 (84.0%) failed in the treatment, with the effective rates being 95.0%, 73.3% and 16.0% separately. The therapeutic effect of treatment group was significantly superior to those of two control groups (P<0.05, 0.01). Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus acupoint injection of Injecto Acidi Nucleici et Caseini Hydrolysatis Composita is definite.展开更多

The observation group was given EA plus acupoint-injection therapy with Cobamamide. The control group was given oral administration of Diclofenac Sodium Sustained-release Tablets plus muscular injection of Cobamamide. After one-course treatment, the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. 〈br〉 Results:The total effective rate was 96.5%in the observation group and 91.2%in the control group, without a statistical significance in the difference between the two groups (P〉0.05). The curative rate was 57.9%in the observation group and 21.1% in the control group, with a statistical significance in the difference between the two groups (P〈0.05). In the follow-up on the fourth day after the treatment, the recurrence rate was 23.1%in the observation group and 47.9%in the control group, with statistical difference between the two groups (P〈0.05). 〈br〉 Conclusion: EA plus acupoint-injection therapy for sciatica of nerve roots is remarkable in the clinical effect and needs promotion in clinic.展开更多

Methods: 60 cases of benign hyperplasia of prostate patients were evenly randomized into treatment group and control group. Those of treatment group were treated with injection o f "Chuan-Shen-Tong" Injectio (composed of Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Rad ix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, etc. for relieving hyperplasis of prostate, 4 mL/acupoin t) into Huiyin (CV 1) and the other 60 cases of control group were treated by oral administration of Hytrin (1 mg/d in the 1 st week and increasing 1 mg/3 d, 4 mg at m ost). After 28 days’ treatment, their therapeutic effects were compared. Result s: After treatment, of each 60 cases in treatment and control groups, 11 (18.3%) and 11 (11.7%) were controlled in their symptoms, 25 (41.7%) and 16 (26.7%) had marked improvement, 18 (30.0%) and 17 (28.3%) had improvement, and 6 (10.0%) an d 20 (33.3%) failed, with the effective rate and the markedly effective rate bei ng 90.0% and 66.7% in the treatment group and 66.7% and 38.3% in the control gro up respectively. The therapeutic effect of treatment group was significantly sup erior to that of control group (P<0.01 and P< 0.05). Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of point-injection of "Chuan-Shen-Tong" for benign hyperplasia of p rostate is better than that of oral administration of Hytrin.展开更多

Methods: A total of 120 elderly patients with sensorineural deafness were randomly divided into a comprehensive treatment group, an acupuncture group and a Western medicine group, with 40 cases in each group. The acupuncture group received acupuncture treatment, the Western medicine group received oral mecobalamin tablets and the comprehensive treatment group received acupuncture plus acupoint injection and auricular acupoint sticking. The values of pure tone hearing threshold test of the three groups were observed before and after treatment, and the relationship between clinical effects and ear distending sensation was compared. Results: The total effective rate of the comprehensive treatment group was 82.5% versus 67.0% in the acupuncture group and 62.5% in the Western medicine group. The inter-group comparisons showed statistically significant differences in the comprehensive treatment group versus the Western medicine group (P〈0.01) and the acupuncture group (P〈0.05). In the comprehensive treatment group, there were 23 cases (57.5%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 86.9%; there were 17 cases (42.5%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 76.5%. In the acupuncture group, there were 24 cases (60.0%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 71.0%; there were 16 cases (40.0%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 63.0%. In the Western medicine group, there were 21 cases (52.5%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 66.7%; there were 19 cases (47.5%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 57.9%. The total effective rate of patients with ear distending sensation were higher than the rates of those without ear distending sensation in the three groups, but the differences were insignificant (all P〉0.05). Conclusion: The comprehensive therapy is one of the effective methods to treat elderly patients with sensorineural deafness. In the three groups of elderly patients with sensorineural deafness, the relief of ear distending sensation and the hearing loss were basically simultaneous, and the hearing recovery in the patients with ear distending sensation may be slightly better than that in those without ear distending sensation. Nevertheless, further research is needed.展开更多
