In light of the impending climate change crisis and the high labor and water costs accompanying it, direct-seeded rice(DSR) is unquestionably one of the most practical solutions. Despite its resource and climate-friendly advantages, early maturing rice faces weed competitiveness and seedling establishment challenges. Resolving these issues is crucial for promoting its wider adoption among farmers, presenting it as a more effective sustainable rice cultivation method globally. Diverse traditional and contemporary breeding methods are employed to mitigate the limitations of the DSR approach, leveraging advanced techniques such as speed breeding and genome editing. Focusing on key traits like mesocotyl length elongation, early seedling vigor, root system architecture, and weed competitiveness holds promise for transformative improvements in DSR adaptation at a broader scale within farming communities. This review aims to summarize how these features contribute to increased crop production in DSR conditions and explore the research efforts focusing on enhancing DSR adaptation through these traits. Emphasizing the pivotal role of these game-changing traits in DSR adaptation, our analysis sheds light on their potential transformative impact and offers valuable insights for advancing DSR practices.展开更多

Although the current diagnosis and treatment equipment and drug research and development keep pace with the times, the current medical technology still can not completely cure the disease, so it is of great significance to explore the pathogenesis and treatment target of AD. The disorder of energy metabolism is one of the characteristic changes in the pathological process of AD. Aerobic glycolysis (AEG) is a special metabolic pathway in the brain, which can rapidly consume glucose to produce energy and substrate for neurons, improve synaptic plasticity, neuroinflammation and oxidative damage, and contribute to the recovery of memory and cognitive function. In recent years, many literatures have reported the mechanism of AEG in AD and the intervention of Tradit Chin Med on this mechanism. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the role of AEG in AD and the related research on the regulation and control of AEG in the treatment of AD by Tradit Chin Med, in order to provide reference and ideas for the prevention and treatment of AD with Tradit Chin Med in the future.展开更多

Furthermore, studies indicate that physical exercise as an adjuvant can enhance the effects of medication in the treatment of ADHD. Aerobic and coordinative exercises improve executive functioning through their effect on neurocognitive domains that are implicated in ADHD. It is postulated that through their specific modus operandi, aerobic exercise, by raising cortical arousal levels, improves impaired alerting functions whereas coordinative exercises improve the regulation of inhibitory control through the involvement of a higher variety of frontal-dependent cognitive processes. The increasing use of routine neurocognitive testing with continuous performance tests (CPT), such as the QbTest, at clinical assessments for ADHD allows for an innovative approach to identify the assessment impairments in alerting function and inhibition control that are related to ADHD and accordingly choose aerobic or coordinative physical exercise in a more targeted fashion.展开更多

Aerobic (TAE) and anaerobic (TAN) training have demonstrated varying impacts on post-stroke recovery. Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the effects of TAE and TAN on post-stroke rehabilitation outcomes, including functionality, walking improvement, strength, balance, and cardiorespiratory capacity. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the PubMed and PEDro databases, covering studies from January 2014 to May 2024. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the impact of TAE and TAN on the specified outcomes were included. The review adhered to PRISMA guidelines, and independent reviewers extracted relevant data on participant characteristics, interventions, and outcomes. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the PEDro scale, and the risk of bias was analyzed. Results: Data synthesis revealed that TAN was more effective in improving performance in the 10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT) and the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), while TAE demonstrated superior results in the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test and the Barthel Activities of Daily Living Index (Barthel ADL). Both training modalities showed significant improvements in the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) for cardiorespiratory capacity, with TAN exhibiting a slightly higher mean difference. Surprisingly, strength gains, assessed by Maximal Isometric Strength (MaxIS), were higher in the TAE group. Conclusions: Both TAE and TAN contribute to post-stroke recovery, with TAN excelling in walking and balance improvements, and TAE showing advantages in functional mobility and strength. The findings support personalized rehabilitation strategies that incorporate both aerobic and anaerobic training to optimize patient outcomes.展开更多

In this study, different combinations of these two methods were investigated. The evaluation was based on the quantity of soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) in the pretreated sludge as well as the degradation of organic matter in the subsequent aerobic digestion. For WAS samples with combined pretreatment, the released COD levels were higher than those with ultrasonic or alkaline pretreatment alone. When combined with the ultrasonic treatment, NaOH treatment was more efficient than Ca(OH)2 for WAS solubilization. The COD levels released in various sequential options of combined NaOH and ultrasonic treatments were in the the following descending order: simultaneous treatment 〉 NaOH treatment followed by ultrasonic treatment 〉 ultrasonic treatment followed by NaOH treatment. For simultaneous treatment, low NaOH dosage (100 g/kg dry solid), short duration (30 min) of NaOH treatment, and low ultrasonic specific energy (7500 kJ/kg dry solid) were suitable for sludge disintegration. Using combined NaOH and ultrasonic pretreatment with optimal parameters, the degradation efficiency of organic matter was increased from 38.0% to 50.7%, which is much higher than that with ultrasonic (42.5%) or with NaOH pretreatment (43.5%) in the subsequent aerobic digestion at the same retention time.展开更多

In order to further understand its removal ability, several experiments were conducted to identify the growth and ammonium removal response at different carbon to nitrogen (C/N) mass ratios, shaking speeds, temperatures, ammonium concentrations and to qualitatively verify the production of nitrogen gas using gas chromatography techniques. Results showed that under optimum conditions (C/N 10, 30℃, 120 r/min), YL can significantly remove low and high concentrations of ammonium within 12 to 48 h of growth, respectively. The nitrification products hydroxylamine (NHzOH), nitrite (NO2^-) and nitrate (NO3^-) as well as the denitrification product, nitrogen gas (N2), were detected under completely aerobic conditions.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Flight cadets need to have good physical fitness to cope with the challenges of flying missions. The continuous development of science and technology has led to the constant upgrading of fighter jets and the improvement of their performance, which has resulted in new and higher requirements for the physical fitness of flight personnel. The traditional physical training mode, method, and assessment have been used for many years and do not meet current fitness needs.AIM To investigate the impact of a 12-wk comprehensive anti-G fitness training program on the aerobic capacity of aviation cadets and to evaluate its effectiveness.METHODS Fifty-five cadets were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups using a randomized,single-blind design. The control group maintained their existing training regimen, while the experimental group participated in a 12-wk comprehensive training intervention. The training program comprised strength training twice per week,high-intensity interval training three times per week, and supplemental nutritional and psychological support.Maximal oxygen uptake(VO2max),lower limb strength, and hemoglobin levels were measured at baseline,at 6 wk and 12 wk post-intervention.RESULTS Repeated measures analysis of variance revealed significant differences of both VO2max and relative VO2 in both groups across time points(P<0.05).However,no significant time-group interaction was observed(P>0.05).Paired t-tests comparing baseline and 12-wk results showed that VO2max and relative VO2 were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group(P<0.05).This suggests that the training program effectively enhanced the aerobic capacity of the experimental group.Key indicators of aerobic capacity, bilateral lower limb strength and hemoglobin levels, were also significantly different over time and between groups(P<0.05).No significant differences were noted in heart-rate metrics(P>0.05).CONCLUSION A 12-wk comprehensive anti-G fitness training program significantly improved the aerobic capacity of aviation cadets, thereby enhancing their overall capacity and laying a physiological foundation for enduring high-G flights.

文摘A growing body of studies and systematic reviews show evidence of the beneficial effects of physical exercise on core symptoms of ADHD. The increasing use of routine neurocognitive testing with continuous performance tests (CPT), such as the QbTest, at clinical assessments for ADHD allows for an innovative approach to identify the assessment impairments in alerting function and inhibition control that are related to ADHD and accordingly choose aerobic or coordinative physical exercise in a more targeted fashion.
文摘Research Background: Stroke rehabilitation is essential for improving patient outcomes, with a focus on restoring functionality, strength, and mobility. The findings support personalized rehabilitation strategies that incorporate both aerobic and anaerobic training to optimize patient outcomes.
文摘Objectives:This study aimed to investigate the protective effects and underlying mechanisms of aerobic intermittent exercise on cognitive impairment by PM_(2.5)exposure.Methods:Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into four groups:sedentary,exercise,sedentary+PM_(2.5)exposure,and exercise+PM_(2.5)exposure.The exercise groups underwent 8 weeks of exercise training(5 days of exercise per week).Subsequently,PM_(2.5)exposure groups were subjected to PM_(2.5)for three weeks.Post-exposure,we assessed cognitive abilities(shuttle box test),hippocampal tissue structure, related inflammatory factors(TNF-α,IL-6,IL-1β),the protein of inflammatory responses mechanism(P65,IκκB)and cognitiverelated protein levels(BDNF,Aβ-42).Results:PM_(2.5)exposure caused cognitive impairment, abnormal histopathological changes, reduced cognitive related protein and increased pro-inflammatory cytokine levels.Analysis of shuttle box test data revealed significant main effects on the passive avoidance latency times measured in rats(p<0.05).Aerobic intermittent exercise improves spatial learning decline in rats induced by PM_(2.5).Conversely,the Exercise+PM_(2.5)group demonstrated a significant reduction in latency of 24.9%compared to the Sedentary+PM_(2.5)group(p<0.05,ES=1.41).Conclustion:Aerobic intermittent exercise may help in protecting against the decrease of cognitive ability induced by PM_(2.5)exposure.

文摘[ Objective ] The paper was to screen intestinal aerobic bacteria from 2nd instar larvae of Dendrolimu kikuchii and determine its toxicity. [ Method ] The intestinal samples of 2nd instar larvae of D. kikuchii were diluted in gredient and coated on plates to isolate strains, and a total of 5 strains of aerobic bacteria were isolated. With bacterial genomic DNA as template, the universal primers of bacterial 16S rDNA (27f and 1 492r) were used to amplify the template, 4 restriction enzymes Hae Ⅲ and Hind Ⅲ, Hinf Ⅰ and Taq Ⅰ were used to carry out ARDRA polymorphism analysis on PCR products. [ Result] Clustering map analysis showed that 5 strains of aerobic bacteria clustered into two different taxonomic operating units (OTU) in 95% similarity level, this indicated that the genetic diversity level of intestinal aerobic bacteria in 2nd instar larvae of D. kikuchii was relatively low. The indoor toxicity test showed that the death peaks of insects killed by intestinal bacteria were during 4 - 10 d, the insecticidal effect of strain 4 was the best with corrected mortality rate of 53.57% at 12 d. [ Conclusion] The paper provided reference for control of D. kikuchii.

文摘Alkaline and ultrasonic sludge disintegration can be used as the pretreatment of waste activated sludge (WAS) to promote the subsequent anaerobic or aerobic digestion. Using combined NaOH and ultrasonic pretreatment with optimal parameters, the degradation efficiency of organic matter was increased from 38.0% to 50.7%, which is much higher than that with ultrasonic (42.5%) or with NaOH pretreatment (43.5%) in the subsequent aerobic digestion at the same retention time.

文摘Dementia is one of the greatest global challenges for health and social care in the 21st century.Alzheimer’s disease(AD),the most common type of dementia,is by no means an inevitable consequence of growing old.Several lifestyle factors may increase,or reduce,an individual’s risk of developing AD.Much has been written over the ages about the benefits of exercise and physical activity.Among the risk factors associated with AD is a low level of physical activity. The relationship between physical and mental health was established several years ago.In this review,we discuss the role of exercise(aerobic and resistance)training as a therapeutic strategy for the treatment and prevention of AD.Older adults who exercise are more likely to maintain cognition. We address the main protective mechanism on brain function modulated by physical exercise by examining both human and animal studies. We will pay especial attention to the potential role of exercise in the modulation of amyloid b turnover, inflammation, synthesis and release of neurotrophins, and improvements in cerebral blood flow.Promoting changes in lifestyle in presymptomatic and predementia disease stages may have the potential for delaying one-third of dementias worldwide.Multimodal interventions that include the adoption of an active lifestyle should be recommended for older populations.

文摘Bacterium Providencia rettgeri YL was found to exhibit an unusual ability to heterotrophically nitrify and aerobically denitrify various concentrations of ammonium (NH4^+-N). The nitrification products hydroxylamine (NHzOH), nitrite (NO2^-) and nitrate (NO3^-) as well as the denitrification product, nitrogen gas (N2), were detected under completely aerobic conditions.
