For this purpose, a set of descriptive statistics methods are applied to data collected from 1950 producers from 80 villages. Results indicate that the density of semi, HPK variety, compost and IT 90 variety are the most adopted agroecological technologies with respective adoption rates of 87%, 69%, 64.3% and 64%. Moreover, results show that millet producers that adopted agro-ecological technologies have on average multiplied by 2.00 and 2.96 times their production, in Zinder and Maradi regions respectively. Besides, findings reveal that cowpea producers that adopted agro-ecological technologies have on average multiplied by 2.00 and 3.21 times their production, in Zinder and Maradi regions respectively. Finally, results support that the improvement in millet and cowpea yields has led to increase in producers’ total income by 2 and 3 times respectively in Zinder and Maradi regions. Since agroecological technologies improve agricultural yields and income, we suggest policy makers to recommend their adoption and diffusion.展开更多

Using the statistical data of the gross agricultural output value of Hubei Province in 2005-2014,based on the C-D production function,it calculated the average contribution rate(2. 48%) of agricultural informationization to the growth of agricultural economy in Hubei Province, indicating that agricultural informationization can promote growth of agricultural economy. This is basically consistent with previous findings. In addition, investment in agricultural informationization and broadband access rate also influenced the growth of agricultural economy in Hubei Province. Therefore, government should further improve the infrastructure of agricultural informationization, strengthen training of farmers’ information skills, establish auxiliary mechanism for achievement feedback of information-based agricultural production, increase the contribution rate of informationization to agricultural operation and management, promote the contribution of informationization to the growth of agricultural economy,so as to increase agricultural income of farmers.展开更多

This paper applied the evaluation DEA (Data-embrasing Analysis) method to evaluate the effectiveness of financial support to agriculture from 1990 to 2005. It is found that the trend of the financial support to agricultural effectiveness in China presented a downward trend in recent years. The results showed that the overall trend of the financial support to agriculture in China wasn't high, and some corresponding proposals were put forward to optimized.展开更多

Incorporating the forest landscape into farming systems has promoted the development of integrated production systems such as agroforestry. However, many aspects of the relationship between farming and the forest landscape have changed since the modernization of agriculture introduced by the Green Revolution. The objectives of this review are:(1) to contribute to the understanding of the changes in cultivation strategies and in the dynamics of agricultural systems, particularly in the context of farming in Santa Catarina State, Brazil;(2) to contribute to the understanding of agroforestry systems as a strategy to reintroduce the element of forestry into agricultural production systems; and(3) to compile a list of forest plant species that could be used in agroforestry. The approach adopted in this manuscript seeks to highlight the potential of agroforestry systems to conserve natural resources and thereby to support agricultural development by connecting environmental conservation with income for farmers.展开更多
