Artificial Intelligence for Maximizing Agricultural Input Use Efficiency: Exploring Nutrient, Water and Weed Management Strategies

Agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy,and there is an increasing global emphasis on automating agri-cultural processes.With the tremendous increase in population,the demand for food and employment has also increased significantly.Agricultural methods traditionally used to meet these requirements are no longer ade-quate,requiring solutions to issues such as excessive herbicide use and the use of chemical fertilizers.Integration of technologies such as the Internet of Things,wireless communication,machine learning,artificial intelligence(AI),and deep learning shows promise in addressing these challenges.However,there is a lack of comprehensive documentation on the application and potential of AI in improving agricultural input efficiency.To address this gap,a desk research approach was used by utilizing peer-reviewed electronic databases like PubMed,Scopus,Goo-gle Scholar,Web of Science,and Science Direct for relevant articles.Out of 327 initially identified articles,180 were deemed pertinent,focusing primarily on AI’s potential in enhancing yield through better management of nutrients,water,and weeds.Taking into account researchfindings worldwide,we found that AI technologies could assist farmers by providing recommendations on the optimal nutrients to enhance soil quality and deter-mine the best time for irrigation or herbicide application.The present status of AI-driven automation in agricul-ture holds significant promise for optimizing agricultural input utilization and reducing resource waste,particularly in the context of three pillars of crop management,i.e.,nutrient,irrigation,and weed management.

Assessing Financial Management Practices and Accounting Mechanisms in Agricultural Cooperatives:A Case Study From Nepal

The study focuses on assessing the financial management practices and accounting mechanisms in agricultural cooperatives in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan,Dang District,Nepal with a focus on understanding their implications for financial performance and organizational effectiveness.The sample size of total cooperatives(n=46)was divided into Savings and Credit Cooperatives(n=18)and Multipurpose Cooperatives(n=28),respectively,with a total number of respondents(n=138)categorized into managing directors,employees,and general members.Using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative analysis of financial data with qualitative insights gathered through interviews and surveys,the study emphasizes the importance of modern financial practices,improved reporting mechanisms,and relevant staff training for long-term sustainability.Recommendations include the integration of criteria and evaluation tools to assess cooperative performance,with Hamro Pahunch Multipurpose Cooperative identified as a high performer.Emphasizing the need for robust financial management strategies to navigate the complexity of the agricultural sector,manage risks,and achieve sustainable development,the study notes frequent preparation of financial management reports on a monthly and annual basis,and predominantly annual accounting management.Most cooperatives are using computerized models to present financial positions,but face challenges such as lack of marketing infrastructure,cooperative skills,and technical support.Ultimately,the study advocates for educating policy makers,cooperative leaders,practitioners and stakeholders on the role of effective financial management and accounting in enhancing the resilience,expansion and socio-economic impact of agricultural cooperatives,thereby fostering their long-term prosperity and viability as drivers of rural development and empowerment.

Modeling of Sensor Enabled IrrigationManagement for Intelligent Agriculture Using Hybrid Deep Belief Network

Artificial intelligence(AI)technologies and sensors have recently received significant interest in intellectual agriculture.Accelerating the application of AI technologies and agriculture sensors in intellectual agriculture is urgently required for the growth of modern agriculture and will help promote smart agriculture.Automatic irrigation scheduling systems were highly required in the agricultural field due to their capability to manage and save water deficit irrigation techniques.Automatic learning systems devise an alternative to conventional irrigation management through the automatic elaboration of predictions related to the learning of an agronomist.With this motivation,this study develops a modified black widow optimization with a deep belief network-based smart irrigation system(MBWODBN-SIS)for intelligent agriculture.The MBWODBN-SIS algorithm primarily enables the Internet of Things(IoT)based sensors to collect data forwarded to the cloud server for examination purposes.Besides,the MBWODBN-SIS technique applies the deep belief network(DBN)model for different types of irrigation classification:average,high needed,highly not needed,and not needed.The MBWO algorithm is used for the hyperparameter tuning process.A wideranging experiment was conducted,and the comparison study stated the enhanced outcomes of the MBWODBN-SIS approach to other DL models with maximum accuracy of 95.73%.

Construction of the Ontology-Based Agricultural Knowledge Management System

Ontology is the formal representation of concepts and their mutual relations. It has wide application potential in the classification of agricultural information, the construction of information and knowledge database, the research and development of intelligent search engine, as well as the realization of cooperative information service, etc. In this research, an ontology-based agricultural knowledge management system framework is proposed, which includes modules of ontology-based knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation, knowledge organization, and knowledge mining, etc. The key technologies, building tools and applications of the framework are explored. Future researches on the theoretical refinement and intelligent simulation knowledge service are also envisioned.

Climate change poses a serious threat to the future food security of China, which is among the most disaster-prone countries in the world. This paper discusses the implications of climate change for China＇s agricultural sector. Its main objectives are to identify the agricultural risks associated with climate change, to introduce a conceptual framework for agricultural climate risk management and to enumerate key adaptation strategies, challenges, and recommendations.

Quality Management System of Agricultural Products Based on Spring

This article gives an overview of important property of the integrated management of agricultural product quality safety system,analyzes the lightweight characteristics of Spring technical system,hierarchical organization of MVC,and the technology SSH+Ajax associated with the Spring framework system.On the basis of this technical system,we design the quality management system of agricultural products under B/S model.This article points out that this system is realized mainly through consumers'information feedback and order management;then discusses operation environment,expandability,portability and security of the system.

Optimal Mode of Agricultural Moderate Scale Management Based on Measurement of Moderate Scale of Wugang City in Henan Province

The issue of agricultural moderate scale management is always a hot spot. In 2016,the No. 1 document of the central government once again set forth the requirement of bringing into play leading role of moderate scale management in various forms of agriculture. In the economic new normal,the solution to this issue is of great significance to promoting agricultural modernization. However,there are still problems such as unsmooth transfer of rural labor force,fragmentation of rural land management and low benefit of land scale management. Taking Wugang City in Henan Province as an example,this paper attempts to find out the optimal land management scale in accordance with the actual situation in Henan Province. It is concluded that small family farm is the optimal mode for agricultural moderate scale management.

Research on Financial Support for the New Types of Agricultural Management Entities from the Perspective of the Rural Revitalization Strategy

Both the escape from the predicament of traditional financial support in rural areas and the cultivation of new types of agricultural management entities underlie,at a micro level,the improvement of a new-type of agricultural management system,and offer an important guarantee for the implementation of a rural revitalization strategy.In reference to the demands of carrying out reform,activating factors,invigorating entities and stimulating markets during the implementation of this rural revitalization strategy,we are applying a financing preference theory that infers and analyzes the excessive preference for new-type agricultural management entities(family farms,specialized farmer cooperatives,specialized large family farms,and modern agricultural enterprises)regarding government subsidies(quasi-equity financing).Our analysis has identified crucial factors in the issue and predicts that government subsidies(quasi-equity financing)will crowd out financial support funding(quasi-debt financing),and we offer empirical proof obtained through statistical modeling.As our results indicate,financing costs,free cash flows,and the perceived income adequacy(PIA)of new-type agricultural management entities all have significant influence upon decision-making for debt financing by such entities.Therefore,with the concrete contents of the formulation of policies concerning the financial support for rural agricultural strategy,one not only needs to consider the further decrease of financing costs,but also should take into account both the designing of cash flow mechanism in the process of paying both principal and interest,and the improvement of bankruptcy rules for agricultural management entities to accelerate the transformation of family farms,specialized farmer cooperatives,and specialized large family farms,towards modern agricultural enterprises.Meanwhile,upgrades to the supply chains of the agriculture industry,improvements to the construction of the rural financial information system,building an accounting system that meets the requirements of the rural revitalization strategy,and giving full play to the policies for financial support,which assume an important role in activating factors and markets during the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy,are also anticipated.

Policy options and system supplies on socialization standard management of city agricultural laborers

A Preliminary Study on Patent Application and Management of Agricultural Scientific Research Institutions

At present,there is a contradiction between the rapid growth of the number of patents declared and authorized by agricultural scientific research institutions and the decline of the efficiency of invention patents year by year,and the low conversion rate of patents.This paper discusses the patent application quantity,authorization quantity and patent efficiency of the Tropical Crops Genetic Resources Institute,Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences,analyzes the present situation of its work and the main problems existing in patent management,and puts forward the relevant suggestions.

Preliminary Study on Management of Agricultural Scientific Research Projects in the New Situation

Project management of agricultural scientific research institutions is an important section of agricultural scientific research plan management. It is of great significance for sustainable development of scientific research work of scientific research institutions. Research on Agricultural Product Price Risk and Risk Management

There are a variety of reasons for agricultural product price risk,and drastic volatility in agricultural product price can give a tremendous negative impact on agriculture and even whole society. The paper argues that the agricultural product price risks include( i) price risk caused by decrease in yield and quality of agricultural products due to natural disasters;( ii) price risk caused by actual change of the market supply and demand;( iii) price fluctuation risk caused by the change of the price of the related products;( iv) sharp price volatility risk caused by market speculation;( v) risk caused by periodic property of agricultural products and lack of elasticity of agricultural demand;( vi)risk caused by lack of government management. Agricultural product price risk poses great harm to farmers,small and medium-sized agricultural operators and general consumers. This paper brings forward the specific recommendations for solving agricultural product price risk.

Management and Agricultural Technology Affecting to Longan Security in Thailand

The objectives of this research are to study the management influences on Longan product, the value of Longan product with agricultural science and technology, and the public policy that affects on Longan product security. This study employs quantitative methods in analyzing the data collected from 400 Longan farmers in 3 provinces located in the northern region of Thailand: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Lamphun. The models were tested via Structural Equation Modeling or SEM and results indicate that Longan product management and public policy have positive effects on Longan security. Results also show that agricultural technology has a negative effect while the value of Longan product has no influence on the Longan security.

As one of the important forces of new types of agricultural businesses,the farmer's specialized cooperatives grow up rapidly in the development of the rural economy because of their characteristics which are consistent with the current rural economy. financial management is the core of the operation of farmer cooperatives,which directly affects the long-term sustainable development of cooperatives. Through the survey and analysis of the financial management of many farmers' cooperatives in Wei County,Hebei Province,this paper puts forward the deficiencies in the existing financial management of cooperatives. It also brings some reasonable suggestions to regulate and improve the financial management of cooperatives,in order to enhance the market competitiveness of farmers' cooperatives and realize better sustainable development of farmers' cooperatives.
