This paper focuses on the stochastic analysis of a viscoelastic bistable energy harvesting system under colored noise and harmonic excitation, and adopts the time-delayed feedback control to improve its harvesting efficiency. Firstly, to obtain the dimensionless governing equation of the system, the original bistable system is approximated as a system without viscoelastic term by using the stochastic averaging method of energy envelope, and then is further decoupled to derive an equivalent system. The credibility of the proposed method is validated by contrasting the consistency between the numerical and the analytical results of the equivalent system under different noise conditions. The influence of system parameters on average output power is analyzed, and the control effect of the time-delayed feedback control on system performance is compared. The output performance of the system is improved with the occurrence of stochastic resonance(SR). Therefore, the signal-to-noise ratio expression for measuring SR is derived, and the dependence of its SR behavior on different parameters is explored. 展开更多

Methods based on numerical optimization are useful and effective in the design of control systems. This paper describes the design of retarded fractional delay differential systems (RFDDSs) by the method of inequalities, in which the design problem is formulated so that it is suitable for solution by numerical methods. Zakian's original formulation, which was first proposed in connection with rational systems, is extended to the case of RFDDSs. In making the use of this formulation possible for RFDDSs, the associated stability problems are resolved by using the stability test and the numerical algorithm for computing the abscissa of stability recently developed by the authors. During the design process, the time responses are obtained by a known method for the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms. Two numerical examples are given, where fractional controllers are designed for a time-delay and a heat-conduction plants. 展开更多

First, the stochastic averaging method is used to reduce the dimension of the state space and to derive the stationary response of the system. Secondly, the control law is assumed to be velocity feedback control with time delay and the unknown control gains are determined by the performance indices. The response of the controlled system is predicted through solving the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov equation associated with the averaged Ito equation. The displacement feedback with time delay considered is introduced in order to enhance the vibration isolation performance of a high-static-low-dynamic stiffness(HSLDS) vibration isolator. Such feedback is detailedly analyzed from the viewpoint of equivalent damping. Firstly, the primary resonance of the controlled HSLDS vibration isolator subjected to a harmonic force excitation is obtained based on the multiple scales method and further verified by numerical integration. The stability of the primary resonance is subsequently investigated. Then, the equivalent damping is defined to study the effects of feedback gain and time delay on primary resonance. The condition of jump avoidance is obtained with the purpose of eliminating the adverse effects induced by jumps. Finally, the force transmissibility of the controlled HSLDS vibration isolator is defined to evaluate its isolation performance. It is shown that an appropriate choice of feedback parameters can effectively suppress the force transmissibility in resonant region and reduce the resonance frequency. Furthermore, a wider vibration isolation frequency bandwidth can be achieved compared to the passive HSLDS vibration isolator. 展开更多

An optimization method for time-delayed feedback control of partially observable linear building structures subjected to seismic excitation is proposed. A time-delayed control problem of partially observable linear building structure under horizontal ground acceleration excitation is formulated and converted into that of completely observable linear structure by using separation principle. The time-delayed control forces are approximately expressed in terms of control forces without time delay. The control system is then governed by Itoe stochastic differential equations for the conditional means of system states and then transformed into those for the conditional means of modal energies by using the stochastic averaging method for quasi-Hamiltonian systems. The control law is assumed to be modal velocity feedback control with time delay and the unknown control gains are determined by the modal performance indices. A three-storey building structure is taken as example to illustrate the proposal method and the numerical results are confirmed by using Monte Carlo simulation. 展开更多

White noise deconvolution or input white noise estimation problem has important appli-cation backgrounds in oil seismic exploration,communication and signal processing.By the modern time series analysis method,based on the Auto-Regressive Moving Average(ARMA) innovation model,under the linear minimum variance optimal fusion rules,three optimal weighted fusion white noise deconvolution estimators are presented for the multisensor systems with time-delayed measurements and colored measurement noises.They can handle the input white noise fused filtering,prediction and smoothing problems.The accuracy of the fusers is higher than that of each local white noise estimator.In order to compute the optimal weights,the formula of computing the local estimation error cross-covariances is given.A Monte Carlo simulation example for the system with 3 sensors and the Bernoulli-Gaussian input white noise shows their effectiveness and performances. 展开更多

An efficient numerical approach is presented in an algorithm to establish results so that stability of such systems is achieved and stabilizing PID parameters are determined directly. It is based on determining the rightmost characteristic roots and Nyquist plot. The Newton-Raphson’s iterative method based on Lambert W function is used for the calculation of these stabilizing roots directly from the closed-loop characteristic equation of the neutral time-delay system and then stability is checked by Nyquist plot and step response of closed-loop system. First of all, according to the first-order approximation method and the stabilization condition of the linear system, one linear feedback controller is structured to control the chaotic system without time-delay, its chaotic behavior is eliminated and stabilized to its equilibrium. After that, based on the first-order approximation method, the Lyapunov stability theorem, and the matrix inequality theory, the other linear feedback controller is structured to control the chaotic system with time-delay and make it stabilized at its equilibrium. Firstly, based on the principle of the minimum mean square error and small time-delayed approximation and linearize the cubic stiffness term, the fractional derivative is equivalent to a linear combination of damping and restoring forces, and the original system is simplified into an equivalent integer order system. Secondly, the Ito differential equations and one-dimensional Markov process are obtained according to stochastic averaging method, and the stochastic stability and stochastic bifurcation of the system are analyzed. Lastly, through joint probability density function diagram and the stationary probability density function diagram, the stochastic bifurcation behavior of system under the different time-delay, fractional order and noise intensity are discussed respectively, the validity of the theory and the occurrence of bifurcation phenomenon are verified. 展开更多

We investigate the identification problems of a class of linear stochastic time-delay systems with unknown delayed states in this study. A time-delay system is expressed as a delay differential equation with a single delay in the state vector. We first derive an equivalent linear time-invariant(LTI) system for the time-delay system using a state augmentation technique. Then a conventional subspace identification method is used to estimate augmented system matrices and Kalman state sequences up to a similarity transformation. To obtain a state-space model for the time-delay system, an alternate convex search(ACS) algorithm is presented to find a similarity transformation that takes the identified augmented system back to a form so that the time-delay system can be recovered. Finally, we reconstruct the Kalman state sequences based on the similarity transformation. The time-delay system matrices under the same state-space basis can be recovered from the Kalman state sequences and input-output data by solving two least squares problems. Numerical examples are to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多
