文摘In this work,we present a high-power,high-repetition-rate,all-fiber femtosecond laser system operating at 1.5μm.This all-fiber laser system can deliver femtosecond pulses at a fundamental repetition rate of 10.6 GHz with an average output power of 106.4 W–the highest average power reported so far from an all-fiber femtosecond laser at 1.5μm,to the best of our knowledge.By utilizing the soliton-effect-based pulse compression effect with optimized pre-chirping dispersion, the amplified pulses are compressed to 239 fs in an all-fiber configuration.Empowered by such a high-power ultrafast fiber laser system,we further explore the nonlinear interaction among transverse modes LP01,LP11 and LP21 that are expected to potentially exist in fiber laser systems using large-mode-area fibers. The intermodal modulational instability is theoretically investigated and subsequently identified in our experiments.Such a high-power all-fiber ultrafast laser without bulky free-space optics is anticipated to be a promising laser source for applications that specifically require compact and robust operation.

文摘We demonstrate an all-fiber, high-power, and high stability ultrafast laser source operating at 1563 nm. A highly stable, self-starting carbon nanotube(CNT) mode-locked femtosecond fiber laser is used as the seed source. The amplifier stage uses a fiber chirped pulse amplification configuration. The main power amplifier is based on a cladding-pumped Er–Yb co-doped fiber with 10 μm active single-mode core diameter. The laser source provides 3.4 W average output power at 75 MHz repetition rate. The pulses are compressed to 765 fs by a low-loss transmission grating pair. The robust, compact, and high-power 1560 nm fiber laser source can be used for eye surgery and solar cell micromachining.

文摘We demonstrate a dual-wavelength passively Q-switched Nd^(3+)-doped glass fiber laser using a few-layer topological insulator Bi2Se3 as a saturable absorber(SA) for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The laser resonator is a simple and compact linear cavity using two fiber end-facet mirrors. The SA is fabricated by Bi2Se3/polyvinyl alcohol composite film. By inserting the SA into the laser cavity, a stable Q-switching operation is achieved with the shortest pulse width and maximum pulse repetition rate of 601 ns and 205.2 kHz,respectively. The maximum average output power and maximum pulse energy obtained are about 6.6 mW and 38.8 nJ, respectively.

文摘Few-layer graphitic carbon nitride (g-C-N-) nanosheets were fabricated and utilized as a saturable absorber for mode-locking in an Er-doped fiber laser with net normal dispersion. Tile g-CaN,-/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hybrid-film-based saturable absorber has a modulation depth of 4.01% and a saturation intensity of 7.5 MW/cm2. By integrating g-C3N4-PVA mode-locker into the laser cavity, a mode-locked operation could be obtained. The achieved mode-locking pulse centered at 1530.3 nm has a pulse width of 530 ps. Its repetition rate is 40.8 MHz, and the corresponding signal-to-noise ratio is about 55 dB.

文摘We fabricate the Tm-doped double cladding silica fiber by using the vapor-solution hybrid-doping method, then build up an all-fiber Tin-doped fiber laser which can provide the output power of up to 121 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 51% and an optical-optical efficiency of 48%. By using the domestic Tin-doped fiber, it is the first time a hundred-watt level output at 1915nm has been achieved, to the best of our knowledge. The thermal effect of Tm-doped fiber laser is also analyzed.

文摘In this paper,we demonstrate an all-fiber linearly polarized fiber laser oscillator. The single polarization of the oscillator is achieved through the careful designing of the active fiber coiling. The relationship between fiber coiling diameter and polarization extinction ratio and optical efficiency is studied, whose results lead to an optimized system. The thermal management of the oscillator is also refined, which allows the oscillator to reach a maximum output power of44.1 W with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 57.9%.A high average polarization extinction ratio of 21.6 d B is achieved during a 2-hour stability test. The oscillator also owns a narrow 3-d B bandwidth of 0.1 nm,as well as near-diffraction-limit beam quality of M^2~ 1.14.

文摘A single-frequency pulsed erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser with master-oscillator power-amplifier configuration at 1 533 nm is developed. A short-cavity, erbium-doped phosphate glass fiber laser is utilized as a seeder laser with a linewidth of 5 kHz and power of 40 mW. The seeder laser is modulated to be a pulse laser with a repetition rate of 10 kHz and pulse duration of 500 ns. The amplifier consists of two pre-amplifiers and one main amplifier. The detailed characteristics of the spectrum and linewidth of the amplifiers are presented. A pulse energy of 116 μJ and a linewidth of 1.1 MHz are obtained. This laser can be a candidate transmitter for an all-fiber Doppler wind lidar in the boundary layer.
