ALLIED FUZZY c-MEANS CLUSTERING MODEL

A novel model of fuzzy clustering, i.e. an allied fuzzy c means （AFCM） model is proposed based on the combination of advantages of fuzzy c means （FCM） and possibilistic c means （PCM） clustering. PCM is sensitive to initializations and often generates coincident clusters. AFCM overcomes this shortcoming and it is an ex tension of PCM. Membership and typicality values can be simultaneously produced in AFCM. Experimental re- suits show that noise data can be well processed, coincident clusters are avoided and clustering accuracy is better.

Reducing Paediatric Outpatient Waitlists—A Proposed Allied Health Multidisciplinary Approach

Extremely long Australian paediatric outpatient waiting lists have resulted in large numbers of children waiting to see a paediatrician. Analyses of the patient referrals suggest that a large proportion of children may benefit from allied health input, in addition to being seen by the paediatrician. This paper provides an organisational strategy that involves streamlining Allied Health clinical services in an effort to assist with bringing down a Paediatric Out-patient waitlist. The paper describes principles to guide the formation of a Paediatric Allied Health Multi-Disciplinary team that proposes assessment and brief interventions. The service would focus on supporting the paediatricians through the use of structured procedures, telephone intakes, multidisciplinary triage, shared and standardised assessments, collaborative formulations and reports, brief interventions, clinical-community linkages, and allied health student support. A variety of additional important organisational principles are proposed to facilitate patient flow from the perspective of streamlining administrative processes, having adequate administrative support, shared responsibilities, teamwork, flexibility, carrying out intake assessments, determining which referrals were appropriate for allied health, and working closely with medical staff.

Adult patients with allied disorders of Hirschsprung’s disease in emergency department:An 11-year retrospective study

BACKGROUND In the past years,only a few studies with a limited number of adult patients analyzed clinical features of allied disorders of Hirschsprung’s disease(ADHD),most of which were individual case reports or lacked detailed clinical information.Although many studies have reported patients presenting to the emergency department(ED)with recurrent abdominal symptoms for a number of disorders,there are few data involving ADHD.However,owing to a lack of awareness of the disease,misdiagnoses and mistreatments are common.Severe complications such as perforation,bleeding,malabsorption,and even death in ADHD had been reported by many studies.AIM To assist ED clinicians in having a more comprehensive understanding of this disease and making an early suspected diagnosis of ADHD more effectively.METHODS We enrolled 53 patients who visited the ED and were eventually diagnosed with ADHD over the past 11 years in our hospital.Their basic information,clinical manifestations,and imaging findings were analyzed.Blood indices were compared between the ADHD and irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)groups.RESULTS Adult patients with ADHD had a mean age of 48.8±14.3 years,and 77.4%had been treated before admission.The transverse colon was the most common dilated part(73.6%),and constipation(67.9%)was the most common symptom.ADHD patients can present with uncommon symptoms and false-negative imaging findings.Logistic regression analysis indicated that body mass index(BMI)[odds ratio(OR)=0.786,P=0.013],cholinesterase(per 1000 units;OR=0.693,P=0.008),and blood chlorine(OR=0.816,P=0.022)were determined to be independent related factors between the ADHD and IBS groups.The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve of these three indices combined was 0.812(P<0.001).CONCLUSION Emergency physicians should be vigilant regarding patients with chronic constipation,abdominal pain,or abdominal distension,and consider the possibility of ADHD despite its rarity.Abdominal computed tomography examination is recommended as a useful tool in the suspected diagnosis of ADHD.BMI,cholinesterase,and blood chlorine have good discriminative abilities between ADHD and IBS.The nutritional status of adult patients with ADHD is worthy of further attention.Surgical treatment for adult patients with ADHD is important and inevitable.

The Boundary Between Gondwana and Pacifica and the Suturing Ages of Their Allied Terranes in Southwestern China

Two terranes formed since the Late Palaeozoic can be distinguished in southwestern China. One is charac-terized by the Permo-Carboniferous ice-rafted marine gravel-bearing clastic formation and the cold-water faunaof the Gondwana facies, including the Gangmar Co, Lhasa, Sa' gya, Tengchong and Baoshan terranes and theother is marked by the Upper Palaeozoic of the Yangtze type with the Cathaysian flora and the Pacific-typefusulinids, comprising the Changning-Menglian, Shuangjiang-Lancang, Qamdo and Bayan Har terranes. TheLongmu Co-Shuanghu-Dengqen-North Lancang River-Kejie-Mengding suture zone between the two groups ofterranes is the boundary between Gondwana and Pacifica in southwestern China. On the grounds of thesedimentary formation and successive southwestward migration of the Asian nonmarine Jurassic-Cretaceousendemic bivalves, the ages of the suture and some terranes to the southwest of the suture zone are discussed.The Baoshan terrane and the Nyainrong-Sog terrane in the Lhasa composite terrane were firstly pieced togeth-er with the Asian continent in the early Early Jurassic. The northern Tibet-western Yunnan microplate, in-cluding the Gangmar Co, Lhasa and Tengchong terranes, collided with the Asian continent at the end of theEarly Cretaceous Neocomian.

Taxonomic revision of Prosopocoilus gracilis(Saunders,1854) and its allied species from China(Coleoptera:Lucanidae)

Prosopocoilus gracilis （Saunders, 1854） and its seven allied species from China are revised. Lectotype, paralectotypes of P. gracilis （Saunders, 1854） and P. denticulatus （Boileau, 1901） are designated. The doubtful species, P. piceipennis （Westwood, 1855） is evidently confirmed as a valid species with verification of its type depository. Two highly similar species, P. crenulidens （Fairmaire, 1895） and P. denticulatus （Boileau, 1901） are compared in detail for correcting longstanding wrong diagnoses of them. P. similis Schenk, 2009 is illustrated with male genitalia firstly. Two recently-published species, P. andreasi Schenk, 2009 and P. katsurai Fujita, 2010 are treated as new junior synonyms. All the five valid species in this paper are redescribed, with illustrations of adult （including type） habitus, male and female genitalia if they are available. A key to large males is provided for identifying them briefly.

Hydrogen generation from coupling reactions of AlLi/NaBH_4 mixture in water activated by Ni powder

A novel composition of AlLi/NaBH4 mixture activated by common Ni powder in water for hydrogen generation was investigated. The composition presents good hydrogen generation performance and an optimized Al-10% Li-10% Ni/NaBH4 mixture （mass ratio of 3：1） generates 1540 mL/g hydrogen with 96% efficiency at 333 K. Ni powder exhibits dual catalytic effects on the hydrolysis of AlLi/NaBH4 mixture due to the formation of Ni2B in the hydrolysis process. The Ni2B deposited on aluminum surface could act as a cathode of a micro galvanic couple. Ni2B/Al（OH）3 also has a synergistic effect on NaBH4 hydrolysis. Good hydrogen generation performance with stable pH value of hydrolysis byproduct Al（OH）3/NaBO2-2H2O was obtained with successive additions of Al-Li-Ni /NaBH4 mixture into fixed water.

Assessing the relative perspective of the regulation of kinesiologists among other health professionals

Formerly a self-governed profession, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, kinesiology was designated a regulated profession under the Regulated Health Professions Act (1991). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the perceptions of current health delivery agents to the regulation of kinesiology. An 18-item survey was used to collect data, and a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) framework was used for analysis. The data indicated that kinesiology provides a unique expertise adding to client and patient care and is a needed partner within the multidisciplinary health environment. Similarly, despite the need for the profession to clearly define, delineate, and promote its scope of practice to professionals and to the public, there are increased opportunities that exist within the health care sector, particularly in chronic disease prevention. The addition of kinesiology as a regulated health profession was not considered to be a threat by existing key stakeholders.

AlLi相对Mg−Li合金热压缩变形行为和动态再结晶的影响

采用等温热压缩实验研究含有AlLi相的Mg−5Li−3Al−2Zn(LAZ532)合金的热变形行为;变形温度和应变速率范围分别为473~623 K和0.001~1 s^(−1)。LAZ532合金热变形过程中AlLi相能够阻碍位错运动,从而显著提高合金的峰值应力值。为精确预测LAZ532合金的热变形行为,构建相应的应变补偿Arrhenius本构模型,预测结果与实验结果吻合良好。基于Murty准则,建立相应的热加工图,合理的加工区域在538~623 K和0.001~0.01 s^(−1)范围内。在高应变速率变形条件下,AlLi相不利于LAZ532合金在热压缩过程中的流动稳定性和动态再结晶。此外,变形温度会改变LAZ532合金的动态再结晶形核机制。

Fabrication and Electrical Properties of Titanium Oxide by Thermally Oxidizing Titanium on Silicon

Polycrystalline titanium oxide films are fabricated on silicon by thermally oxidizing titanium.The current- voltage and capacitance- voltage characteristics of the Ag/Ti Ox/Si/Ag capacitors are m easured.The thickness of the titanium oxide films arranges from15 0 nm to2 5 0 nm,and their dielectric constants are within40～ 87.As the oxida- tion tim e is shortened,the fixed charges of the titanium oxide films become less and the leakage current characteris- tics becom e better.

IMPROVING THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF COPPER ALLOYS BY THERMO-MECHANICAL PROCESSING

Systematic physical simulation of thermo-mechanical processing routes has been ap-plied on a Gleeble 1500 simulator to four copper alloys (mass %) Cu-0.57Co-0.32Si,Cu-0.55Cr-0.065P, Cu-0.22Zr-0.035Si and Cu-1.01Ni-0.43Si aimed at clarifying theinfluences of processing conditions on their final properties, strength and electricalconductivity. Flow curves were determined over wide temperature and strain rateranges. Hardness was used as a measure of the strength level achieved. High hard-ness was obtained as using equal amounts (strains 0.5) of cold deformation beforeand after the precipitation annealing stage. The maximum values achieved for theCu-Co-Si, Cu-Cr-P, Cu-Zr-Si and Cu-Ni-Si alloys were 190, 165, 178 and 193 HV5,respectively. A thermo-mechanical schedule involving the hot deformation-ageing-colddeformation stages showed even better results for the Cu-Zr-Si alloy. Consequently,the processing routes were designed based on simulation test results and wires of 5 and2mm in diameters have been successfully processed in the industrial scale.

Al-2.56Li-1.29Cu合金拉伸断裂行为的扫描电镜观察

在备有拉伸装置的扫描电镜下,观察了 Al—2.56 Li—1.29Cu 合金拉伸变形及断裂过程。观察结果表明,在固溶淬火及190℃时效状态下,主要析出相为δ’相。随着时效时间的延长,拉伸断口逐渐由韧窝穿晶型向沿晶突脊型及沿晶韧窝型过渡。在固溶状态下,当拉伸应力超过届服强度以后,出现平直滑移带及交叉滑移带;拉伸裂纹在晶内滑移带及晶界处萌生,并主要沿滑移带扩展。欠时效状态下,δ’相的析出量增多,使共面滑移加剧,交叉滑移带难于形成;裂纹除沿晶界扩展外,也有少部分沿滑移带扩展。在达到峰时效以后,交叉滑移带消失;裂纹在三角晶界处萌生并沿晶界扩展。

VUV Photoionization Study of the Allyl Radical from Premixed Gasoline/Oxygen Flame

The allyl radical has been observed in a low-pressure premixed gasoline/oxygen/argon flame by using tunable vacuum ultraviolet photoionization mass spectrometry, The ionization potential of the allyl radical is derived to be （8.13 ±0.02） eV from photoionization efficiency curve, In addition, a high level ab initzo Gaussian-3 （G3） method was used to calculate the energies of tile radical and its cation. The calculated adiabatic ionization potential is 8.18 eV, which is in excellent agreement with the experimental value. The result is helpful for identifying the allyl radical formed from other flames and for understanding the mechanism of soot formation.

非青光眼人群中血压和视盘结构关系的Thessa-loniki眼科研究

Purpose:To study the association of blood pressure(BP)status on the optic disk structure as measured with the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph(HRT)in people without glaucoma.Design:Cross-sectional population-based setting study.Methods:Consecutive participants in the Thessaloniki Eye Study were included in this study.HRT images of the optic disk and BP measurements were taken.Hypertension was defined as a systolic BP(SBP)≥ 140 mmHg,diastolic BP(DBP)≥ 90 mmHg,or both.Subjects were classified in three groups by SBP and DBP.The Kruskal-Wallis test was used to compare the three groups with respect to the HRT parameters.Regression models adjusted for age,gender,height,disk size,intraocular pressure,cardiovascular disease,diabetes,and duration of antihypertensive treatment were used for each HRT parameter to compare values among the different groups.The P value was considered significant at<.05.Results:A total of 232 subjects were included in the analysis.Rim area was signifi cantly different among groups when DBP was considered as the criterion to classify subjects(P=.005).In regression models,cup area,and cup-to-disk(c/d)ratio were increased in subjects with normal DBP that was the result of treatment,as compared with both the high DBP and untreated normal DBP groups.Conclusions:In patients without glaucoma,the DBP< 90 mm Hg that results from antihypertensive treatment is associated with increased cupping and decreased rim area of the optic disk.This information should be considered in research aiming to define the role of the BP status as an independent factor initiating optic disk changes and/or as a contributing factor to glaucoma damage.
