The experimental results show that Cr addition can increase the hardness of the DNR alloyed iron, but it has an destructive effect on low-temperature impact properties. Through the analysis of the dynamic load and absorbed energy of samples with different Cr contents in the impact fracture process, and the comparison of the impact fracture process at room and low temperatures, it reveals that Cr addition into the DNR alloyed iron can facilitate the formation of the carbide mixture in Mn23C6 and Cr23C6 with homogeneous and discontinuous distribution. Meanwhile, Cr addition also can improve the the maximum dynamic load and crack initiation energy at low temperature, but has no obvious effect on the yield behavior of the DNR alloyed iron in the impact fracture process. Compared with the impact crack propagation process at room temperature, the metastable propagation energy at low temperature declines significantly with an increase in Cr content. This is because the micro-cracks that caused by the carbides weaken the matrix, resulting in the decline of impact crack propagation resistance. The fracture analysis results also show that the impact fracture mechanism gradually transforms from ductile to brittle with an increase in Cr content at low temperature. It explains that too much Cr addition can lead to brittle fracture even though the austenitic matrix has a good toughness at low temperature.展开更多

The results show that after austenitized at 900℃ for 2 h followed by austempered at 370℃for another 2 h, the mechanical property of the alloyed ADI can reach the Germanite GGG-100 standard, i.e. σb≮1000 MPa,δ≮5%, at 95% confidence level. And the satisfactory mechanical properties were obtained when the alloyed ADI was austenitized at 850℃ to 1 000 ℃ for 1-4 h, and austempered at 355℃ to 400℃ for another 1 h to 4 h. The microstructures, including nodule number, white bright zone content (martensite-containing interdendritic segregation zone) and retained austenite content, can significantly influence the mechanical properties of the ADI. In order to obtain the good combinations of strength and ductility, the volume fraction of white bright zone should he less than 5%, and the retained austenite contents maintain hetween 30 % and 40%. The application of inoculation techniques to increase graphite nodule number can effectively reduce the white bright zone content in the structure.展开更多

The 0.30 wt% V-containing and V-free alloyed ductile irons were firstly austenitized at 850 ℃ for 1 h and then austempered in a salt bath at 300 ℃ for 2, 3 and 4 h, respectively. For the 0.3 wt% V-containing alloyed ductile iron, the transformation product (ausferrite) was finer, and a small amount of martensite and a large amount of stable austenite were obtained after austempering for 2 h, while higher hardness and compressive strength of 62.8 HRC and 3000 MPa were achieved. For the V-free alloyed ductile iron, lower hardness and compressive strength were measured to be 56.8 HRC and 2320 MPa. As the austempering time increases, the amount of stable austenite decreases in the V-containing ductile iron, typically for the start of the second stage formation (retained austenite (γτ) →α + carbide). Based on this, it is assumed that the optimal processing window (OPW) was narrowed due to the addition of 0.30 wt% V as compared to the V-free ductile iron. When the hardness of 0.30 wt% V-alloyed ductile iron was higher than 59 HRC, the highest wear resist- ance was obtained. The mechanical cutting plays a dominant role in abrasive wear process.展开更多

With increasing the DCT time, more austenite transformed to martensite and very fine carbides precipitated in martensite in the extended period of DCT. The amount of austenite decreased in alloyed ductile irons, while that of martensite and carbide precipitation increased. The alloyed ADI after DCT for 6 h had the highest hardness and compressive strength, which can be attributed to the formation of more plate-like martensite and the finely precipitated carbides. There was a gradual decrease in hardness and compressive strength with increasing the DCT time to 12 h because of the dissolution of M3 C carbide. After tempering, there was a decrease in mechanical properties compared to the direct DCT sample, which was caused by the occurrence of Ostwald ripening of precipitated carbides. The optimum wear resistance was achieved for the alloyed ADI after DCT for 6 h. The wear mechanism of the alloyed ADI in associating with DCT is mainly consisted of micro-cutting wear and some plastic deformation wear.展开更多

With the increase of Cr and C in the layers the microstructures are changed from hypoeutectoid steel, hypereutectoid steel to hypoeutectic iron and hypereutectic iron. When the weld surfacing layers belong to the alloyed cast irons the erosion resistance can be raised with the eutectic increase and the austenite decrease. Good erosion resistance can be obtained when the proportion of the primary carbides is within 10 %. The experimental results lay a foundation to make double metal percussive plates by surfacing wear resistant layers on the substrates of the low carbon steels.展开更多

According to the oxidation weight gains, the oxidation kinetic curves were plotted, and the equations were regressed by least square method and non-linear curve fitting. The effects of different scale compositions on the morphology and oxidation kinetic law were studied further by analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It is found that the compounded scale is composed of Cr2O3, Al2O3, SiO2 and FeCr2O4, with compact structure and fine grains, possessing complete oxidation resistance at 1 200 ℃, and the oxidation kinetic curve follows the power function of y=axb (a0, 0b1). When the compounded scale lacks Al2O3 or SiO2, it becomes weak in oxidation resistance, but the oxidation kinetic curve still follows the power function with bigger parameter b. When Cr2O3 is absent, the kinetic curve shows two parts: the slow adding of oxidation weight gains at the beginning and the ascending line in the end. Such scale loses oxidation resistance completely.展开更多

文摘In this study, in order to investigate the influence of Cr element on the impact fracture process of ductile Ni-resistant alloyed iron at low temperature, different contents of Cr element were added to ductile Ni-resistant(DNR) austenitic alloyed iron. It explains that too much Cr addition can lead to brittle fracture even though the austenitic matrix has a good toughness at low temperature.

The experimental results lay a foundation to make double metal percussive plates by surfacing wear resistant layers on the substrates of the low carbon steels.

文摘By oxidation weight gain method, four groups of Fe-based superalloys with different content of chromium, aluminium and silicon were tested at 1 200 ℃ for 500 hours. Such scale loses oxidation resistance completely.
