In situ thickness dependent photoluminescence (PL) measurements of tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum(Alq3) film were performed. At the beginning of Alq3 deposition on the glass substrate, the Alq3 emission showed a sharp red-shift. Further deposition of Alq3 resulted slight red-shift, and finally tended to saturated value. The total red-shift of about 12 nm was observed for the Alq3 film thickness range from 2 to 500 nm.This red-shift was attributed to the change from the 2D to 3D exciton state with increasing Alq3 film thickness. Meanwhile, the PL intensity of Alq3 emission increased continuously, and showed a rate change at the initial deposition of Alq3 due to non-rediative decay of excitons arised from the interaction between excitons and the substrate, and finally tended to saturation with the Alq3 thickness. 展开更多

Aluminum films with thickness of 8.78-20.82μm were deposited on the AZ31B magnesium alloys by DC magnetron sputtering.The influences of aluminum film on the micro-mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of the magnesium alloys were investigated.The morphology of aluminum film was examined by scanning electron microscopy and the microstructure of aluminum film was analyzed by X-ray diffiactometry.Nanoindentation and nanoscratch tests were conducted to investigate their micromechanical properties.Moreover,potentiodynamical polarization test performed in 3.5%NaCl solution was carried out to study their anticorrosion performances.The results show that the surface hardness of AZ31B magnesium alloy with aluminum film is 1.38-2.01 GPa,higher than that of the magnesium alloy substrate.The critical load of Al film/AZ31B substrate is in the range of 0.68-2.77 N. The corrosion current density of AZ31B with aluminum film is 2-3 orders of magnitude less than that of bare AZ31B.And the corrosion potential with aluminum film positively shifts.Thus aluminum film can increase the corrosion resistance of Mg alloys obviously. 展开更多

The anodizing oxidation process on 2024 aluminum alloy was researched in the mixed electrolyte with the composition of 30 g/L boric acid, 2 g/L sulfosalicylic acid and 8 g/L phosphate. The results reveal that the pre-treatment and the composition of the mixed electrolyte have influence on the properties of the films and the anodizing oxidation process. Under the condition of controlled potential, the anodizing oxidation current—time response curve displays "saddle" shape. First, the current density reaches a peak value of 8-20 A/dm2 and then decreases rapidly, finally maintains at 1-2 A/dm2. The film prepared in the mixed electrolyte is of porous-type with 20 nm in pore size and 500 μm-2 in porosity. Compared with the conventional anodic film obtained in sulfuric acid, the pore wall of the porous layer prepared in this work is not continuous, which seems to be deposited by small spherical grains. This porous structure of the anodic film may result from the characteristics of the mixed electrolyte and the special anodizing oxidation process. The surface analysis displays that the anodic film is amorphous and composed of O, Al, C, P, S, Si and no copper element is detected. 展开更多

Nano cerium oxide films were applied on AA7020-T6 aluminum alloy and the effects of acetic acid concentration on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of the coated samples were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and potentiodynamic polarization methods. It has been found that by increasing the acetic acid/CeCl3·7H2O molar ratio, high uniform and crack-free films with well-developed grains were obtained and grain sizes of the films decreased. Elimination of cracks and decreasing grain size of the nano cerium oxide films caused corrosion resistance to increase. 展开更多

In this paper, the brazing mechanism of LY12 aluminum alloy at middle range temperature was presented. The CsF-AlF_3 non-corrosive flux was utilized to remove the complex oxide film on the surface of LY12 aluminum alloy. The results revealed that the oxide film was removed by the improved CsF-AlF_3 flux accompanied with the occurrence of reaction as well as dissolution and the compounds CsF played an important role to remove the oxide film. Actually, the high activity of flux, say, the ability to remove the oxide film, was due to the presence of the compounds, such as NH_4F,NH_4AlF_4 and composite molten salt. The production of HF was the key issue to accelerate the reaction and enhance to eliminate the oxide film by dissolution. It was found that the rare earth element La at small percentage was not enriched at the interface. Moreover, the rare earth fluoride enhanced the dissolution behavior. 展开更多

Effects of the Annealing Heating Rate on Sputtered Aluminum Oxide Films

AlxOy films by DC reactive magnetron sputtering were annealed in air ambient at 500 ℃for 1 h with different heating rates of 5,15,and 25 ℃/min.Then heat treatments at 900 ℃ were carried out on these 500 ℃-annealed films to simulate the high-temperature application environment.Effects of the annealing heating rate on structure and properties of both 500 ℃-annealed and 900 ℃-heated films were investigated systematically.It was found that distinct γ-Al2O3 crystallization was observed in the 900 ℃-heated films only when the annealing heating rates are 15 and 25 ℃/min.The 500 ℃-annealed film possessed the most compact surface morphology in the case of 25 ℃/min.The highest microhardness of both 500 ℃-annealed and 900℃-heated films were obtained when the annealing heating rate was 15 ℃/min. 展开更多

The relationship between image stress and distance from the screw dislocation to the interface of pure aluminum and its oxide covering was calculated based on the analysis. It was shown quantitatively that a sign conversion of the image stress appears in the case of thin oxide covering, while dislocation would pile up near the interface because of the possible slips of the screw dislocations induced by the image stress, which might break down the very thin oxide covering. Further investigation on edge dislocations or other dislocation configurations need to be done. 展开更多

Aluminum specimens with and without chemically cleaning were welded by electron beam to investigate the effect of Al2O3 film on weld appearance. The removal mechanism of Al2O3 film during vacuum electron beam welding of aluminum was analyzed and the effect of Al2O3 film on molten pool flow behavior and weld appearance was investigated. The results showed that the weld width of the specimen was enlarged by chemically cleaning. The solid Al2O3 film transformed into gaseous Al2O3 via the reaction with liquid aluminum at the temperature higher than 1 350 K was the main reason for the removal of the film. The weld width was narrowed down by the oxide film due to the inhibition of outward flow driven by the surface tension gradient and the drag force between the Al2O3 film and liquid Al. The weld penetration was reduced in the initial stage and then enhanced in the metastable stage. 展开更多

The porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) film on a pure aluminum substrate was pre pared by a two-step anodization in a 0.3M oxalic acid solution and pore-enlargem ent treatment in the phosphoric acid aqueous solution at 50℃. The diameter of h ighly ordered pore on the AAO film was about 90nm, and the thickness of the AAO film was 3μm. The mineral oil was infiltrated in the ordered nanometer sized po res of AAO film on an aluminum substrate due to the capillarity effect. The fric tion coefficient was measured using a ball-on-disk tribotester. The tests were c onducted at loads range from 490 to 2450mN and at sliding velocities between 0.1 and 0.5m·s-1. Oil infiltration in porous AAO film modified friction and consid erably improved the wear resistance. As compared to the porous AAO film, the oil -infiltrated specimen had low friction coefficient. With increasing the applied load and sliding velocity, the friction coefficient of the oil-infiltrated film decreased. It indicates that the oil-infiltrated AAO film produced a new way to modify the friction and wear of aluminum alloy. 展开更多

Diamond films were successfully synthesized on aluminum nitride(AlN) ceramic substrates by hot filament chemical vapor deposition(HFCVD) method. It is notices that the thermal conductivity of the diamond film/aluminum nitride ceramic(DF/AlN) composite has reached 2.04 W/cm·K, 73%greater than that of AlN ceramic. Compared with the measurement of scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Raman spectroscopy, the influence of diamond films on the thermal conductivity of the composites was pointed out. The adhesion and the stresses of diamond films were also studied. The unusual stability and very good adhesion of diamond films on AlN ceramic substrates obtained are attributed to the formation of aluminum carbide. 展开更多

Interfacial Actions and Adherence of an Interpenetrating Polymer Network Thin Film on Aluminum Substrate

The interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) thin film with the –C=O group in one network and the terminal –N=C=O group in another network on an aluminum substrate to reinforce the adherence between IPN and aluminum through interfacial reactions, were obtained by dip-pulling the pretreated aluminum substrate into the viscous-controlled IPN precursors and by the following thinning treatment to the IPN film to a suitable thickness. The interfacial actions and the adhesion strengths of the IPN on the pretreated aluminum substrate were investigated by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and strain-stress(?-?) measurements. The XPS and FTIR detection results indicated that the elements’ contents of N, O, and Al varied from the depths of IPN. The in-terfacial reaction occurred between the –N=C=O group of IPN and the AlO(OH) of pretreated aluminum. The in-creased force constant for –C=O double bond and the lower frequency shift of –C=O stretching vibration absorption peak both verified the formation of hydrogen bond between the –OH group in AlO(OH) and the –C=O group in IPN. The adherence detections indicated that the larger amount of –N=C=O group in the IPN, the higher shear strengths between the IPN thin film and the aluminum substrate. 展开更多

Ni element was introduced to aluminum surface by a simple chemical immersion method, and A1-Ni composite anodic films were obtained by following anodizing. The morphology, structure and composition of the A1-Ni anodic films were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) and atomic force microscopy(AFM). The electrochemical behaviors of the films were studied by means of polarization measurement and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The experimental results show that the A1-Ni composite anodic film is more compact with smaller pore diameters than that of the A1 anodic film. The introduction of nickel increases the impedances of both the barrier layer and the porous layer of the anodic films. In NaC1 solutions, the A1-Ni composite anodic films show higher impedance values and better corrosion resistance. 展开更多

The passive film-induced stress and the susceptibility to SCC of 7050 aluminum alloy in 3.5%sodium chloride solution at various pH values were investigated by slow strain rate testing(SSRT) and flowing stress differential method.The results showed that the passive film-induced stress and the susceptibility to SCC decreased with increasing pH values when pH≤7,while they increased with increasing pH values when pH7.However,the corrosion type was interpreted as exfoliation corrosion when pH=l and 14,and there was no film formed on the surface of the specimens.The whole variation plots of film-induced stress and the SCC susceptibility with pH values were both presented as a valley shape.The symbol and amount of the film-induced stress were related to the compositions of the passive film,which were analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). 展开更多

Low-frequency noise(LFN) in all operation regions of amorphous indium zinc oxide(a-IZO) thin film transistors(TFTs) with an aluminum oxide gate insulator is investigated. Based on the LFN measured results, we extract the distribution of localized states in the band gap and the spatial distribution of border traps in the gate dielectric,and study the dependence of measured noise on the characteristic temperature of localized states for a-IZO TFTs with Al2 O3 gate dielectric. Further study on the LFN measured results shows that the gate voltage dependent noise data closely obey the mobility fluctuation model, and the average Hooge's parameter is about 1.18×10^-3.Considering the relationship between the free carrier number and the field effect mobility, we simulate the LFN using the △N-△μ model, and the total trap density near the IZO/oxide interface is about 1.23×10^18 cm^-3eV^-1. 展开更多

A self-lubricated array film of amorphous carbon nanorods was prepared by chemical catalytic pyrolysis of acetylene on the anodic aluminum oxide membrane fabricated by two-step anodization of aluminum. The tribological properties of the array film of amorphous carbon nanorods in ambient air were investigated using a ball-on-disk tester at applied loads range from 245 mN to 1960 mN at a sliding velocity of 0.2 m/s. The self-lubricated array film exhibited a small value of the friction coefficient as well as good wear resistance. The friction coefficient of array film of amorphous carbon nanorods decreased gradually with increasing the applied load. The approach proposed demonstrated a new efficient route towards enhanced the friction and wear performances of aluminum. 展开更多

The effects of insoluble eutectic Si particles on the growth of anodic oxide films on ZL114A aluminum alloy substrates were in- vestigated by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The anodic oxidation was performed at 25℃ and a con- stant voltage of 15 V in a solution containing 50 g/L sulfuric acid and 10 g/L adipic acid. The thickness of the formed anodic oxidation film was approximately 7.13 μm. The interpore distance and the diameters of the major pores in the porous layer of the film were within the ap- proximate ranges of 10~20 nm and 5-10 nm, respectively. Insoluble eutectic Si particles strongly influenced the morphology of the anodic oxidation films. The anodic oxidation films exhibited minimal defects and a uniform thickness on the ZL114A substrates; in contrast, when the front of the oxide oxidation films encountered eutectic Si particles, defects such as pits and non-uniform thickness were observed, and pits were observed in the films. 展开更多

A chromium-free environmental protection aluminum surface treatment technology was developed by theoretical analysis and a large number of experiments. Add zirconium ions and cerium ions to the treatment solution, besides adding fluoride, aluminum and hydrogen peroxide, etc. According to the orthogonal test obtained a non-chromate film-formation process of environmental friendly aluminum. The characterization methods including SEM, XPS and XRD were applied to study and analyze the morphology, composition, phase, and corrosion resistance of phosphate film, then discussed the film-forming reaction mechanism. Results showed that chemical conversion film formed on the aluminum surface was uniform, compact and stronger anti-corrosion could replace the traditional, more toxic chromate conversion film. 展开更多

为了准确建立软包锂离子电池有限元模型,进行了开裂准则适用性研究。开发了铝塑膜单向拉伸、等双向拉伸、杯突实验专用夹具并对铝塑膜进行相应测试,采用弹塑性有限元模型模拟相应的实验,并分别应用韧性断裂准则、剪切断裂准则、Mus chen... 为了准确建立软包锂离子电池有限元模型,进行了开裂准则适用性研究。开发了铝塑膜单向拉伸、等双向拉伸、杯突实验专用夹具并对铝塑膜进行相应测试,采用弹塑性有限元模型模拟相应的实验,并分别应用韧性断裂准则、剪切断裂准则、Mus chenborn-Sonne成形极限图(MSFLD)准则模拟铝塑膜的开裂行为。由模拟结果知:三个断裂准则都能较好地模拟单向拉伸和等双向拉伸实验中铝塑膜的开裂行为,而只有韧性断裂准则能够较好地模拟杯突实验中铝塑膜的开裂行为。该研究结果可为建立软包锂离子电池模型提供参考。 展开更多
