This study explores the use of neural network-based analytic continuation to extract spectra from Monte Carlo data.We apply this technique to both synthetic and Monte Carlo-generated data.The training sets for neural networks are carefully synthesized without“data leakage”.We find that the training set should match the input correlation functions in terms of statistical error properties,such as noise level,noise dependence on imaginary time,and imaginary time-displaced correlations.We have developed a systematic method to synthesize such training datasets.Our improved algorithm outperforms the widely used maximum entropy method in highly noisy situations.As an example,our method successfully extracted the dynamic structure factor of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain from quantum Monte Carlo simulations. 展开更多

These derivatives can be used in the analytical continuation application. For the downward continuation of gravity anomaly, the Taylor series approach developed in the paper is equivalent theoretically to but more efficient and storage-saving computationally than the well-known gradient operator approach. Numerical simulation shows that Taylor series expansion constructed by the derived formulas for the radial derivatives of gravity disturbance is still convergent for height up to 4 km. 展开更多

The phonon and phason stresses exhibit a square root singularity at the anticrack tip. Two realvalued phonon stress intensity factors and two real-valued phason stress intensity factors are introduced to scale four separate modes of deformation. We obtain four analytic functions which completely characterize the induced phonon and phason stresses as well as the displacement field. In particular, we derive a concise yet elegant representation of the anticrack contraction force. 展开更多

In this article we study holomorphie isometric embeddings which are asymptotically geodesic at a general boundary point b ∈ δ△. Starting with the structural equation for holomorphic isometrics arising from the Gauss equation, we obtain by covariant differentiation an identity relating certain holomorphic bisectional curvatures to the boundary behavior of the second fundamental form σ of the holomorphie isometric embedding. Using the nonpositivity of holomorphic bisectional curvatures on a bounded symmetric domain, we prove that ‖σ‖ must vanish at a general boundary point either to the order 1 or to the order 1/2, called a holomorphie isometry of the first resp. second kind. We deal with special cases of non-standard holomorphic isometric embeddings of such maps, showing that they must be asymptotically totally geodesic at a general boundary point and in fact of the first kind whenever the target domain is a Cartesian product of complex unit balls. We also study the boundary behavior of an example of holomorphic isometric embedding from the Poincare disk into a Siegel upper half-plane by an explicit determination of the boundary behavior of holomorphic sectional curvatures in the directions tangent to the embedded Poincare disk, showing that the map is indeed asymptotically totally geodesic at a general boundary point and of the first kind. For the metric computation we make use of formulas for symplectic geometry on Siegel upper half-planes. 展开更多

If a spatial-domain function has a finite support,its Fourier transform is an entire function.The Taylor series expansion of an entire function converges at every finite point in the complex plane.The analytic continuation theory suggests that a finite-sized object can be uniquely determined by its frequency components in a very small neighborhood.Trying to obtain such an exact Taylor expansion is difficult.This paper proposes an iterative algorithm to extend the measured frequency components to unmeasured regions.Computer simulations show that the proposed algorithm converges very slowly,indicating that the problem is too ill-posed to be practically solvable using available methods. 展开更多

The purpose of this research is to extend to the functions obtained by meromorphic continuation of general Dirichlet series some properties of the functions in the Selberg class, which are all generated by ordinary Dirichlet series. We wanted to put to work the powerful tool of the geometry of conformal mappings of these functions, which we built in previous research, in order to study the location of their non-trivial zeros. A new approach of the concept of multiplier in Riemann type of functional equation was necessary and we have shown that with this approach the non-trivial zeros of the Dirichlet function satisfying a Reimann type of functional equation are either on the critical line, or they are two by two symmetric with respect to the critical line. The Euler product general Dirichlet series are defined, a wide class of such series is presented, and finally by using geometric and analytic arguments it is proved that for Euler product functions the symmetric zeros with respect to the critical line must coincide. 展开更多

This work presents a new method for space-based angles-only orbit estimation.The approach relies on the integration of a novel and highly accurate Analytic Continuation technique with a new measurement model for multiple observers for inertial orbit estimation.Analytic Continuation computes the perturbed orbit dynamics,as well as the perturbed state transition matrix(STM),in the inertial frame.A new measurement model is developed for simultaneous measurements using a constellation of low-cost observers with monocular cameras for angles-only measurements.Analytic Continuation and the new measurement model are integrated in an Extended Kalman Filter(EKF)framework,where the Analytic Continuation method is used to propagate the perturbed dynamics and compute the perturbed STM and error covariance,with the measurements obtained via the new measurement model.Two case studies comprising small and large constellations of observers are presented,along with cases of sparse measurements and a study of the computational efficiency of the proposed approach.The results show that the new approach is capable of producing highly accurate and computationally efficient perturbed orbit estimation results compared with classical EKF implementations. 展开更多

It is well-known that direct analytic continuation of the DGLAP evolution kernel(splitting functions)from space-like to time-like kinematics breaks down at three loops.We identify the origin of this breakdown as due to splitting functions not being analytic functions of external momenta.However,splitting functions can be constructed from the squares of(generalized)splitting amplitudes.We establish the rules of analytic continuation for splitting amplitudes,and use them to determine the analytic continuation of certain holomorphic and anti-holomorphic part of splitting functions and transverse-momentum dependent distributions.In this way we derive the time-like splitting functions at three loops without ambiguity.We also propose a reciprocity relation for singlet splitting functions,and provide non-trivial evidence that it holds in QCD at least through three loops. 展开更多

In 1993, Tsai proved that a proper holomorphic mapping f: Ω → Ω′ from an irreducible bounded symmetric domain Ω of rank ? 2 into a bounded symmetric domain Ω′ is necessarily totally geodesic provided that r′:= rank(Ωg’) ? rank(Ω):= r, proving a conjecture of the author’s motivated by Hermitian metric rigidity. As a first step in the proof, Tsai showed that df preserves almost everywhere the set of tangent vectors of rank 1. Identifying bounded symmetric domains as open subsets of their compact duals by means of the Borel embedding, this means that the germ of f at a general point preserves the varieties of minimal rational tangents (VMRTs).In another completely different direction Hwang-Mok established with very few exceptions the Cartan-Fubini extension priniciple for germs of local biholomorphisms between Fano manifolds of Picard number 1, showing that the germ of map extends to a global biholomorphism provided that it preserves VMRTs. We propose to isolate the problem of characterization of special holomorphic embeddings between Fano manifolds of Picard number 1, especially in the case of classical manifolds such as rational homogeneous spaces of Picard number 1, by a non-equidimensional analogue of the Cartan-Fubini extension principle. As an illustration we show along this line that standard embeddings between complex Grassmann manifolds of rank ? 2 can be characterized by the VMRT-preserving property and a non-degeneracy condition, giving a new proof of a result of Neretin’s which on the one hand paves the way for far-reaching generalizations to the context of rational homogeneous spaces and more generally Fano manifolds of Picard number 1, on the other hand should be applicable to the study of proper holomorphic mappings between bounded domains carrying some form of geometric structures. 展开更多

What has become known as Stahl's Theorem in power-engineering circles has been used to justify a convergence guarantee of the Holomorphic Embedding Method(HEM)as it applies to the power-flow problem.In this,the second part of a two-part paper,we examine implications to numerical convergence of the HEM and the numerical properties of a Pade approximant algorithm.We show that even if the point of interest is within the convergence domain,numerical convergence of the sequence of Pade approximants computed with finite precision is not guaranteed.We propose a convergence factor equation that can be used to both estimate the convergence rate and the capacity of the branch cut.We also show that the study of convergence properties of the Pade approximant is the study of the location of the branch-points of the function,which in turn dictate branch-cut topology and capacity and,therefore,convergence rate. 展开更多

What is known as StahPs Theorem in power engineering circles is used to justify a convergence guarantee of the Holomorphic Embedding Method(HEM)as it applies to powerflow(PF)problem.In this two-part paper,we examine in more detail the implications of Stahl's theorems to both theoretical and numerical convergence for a wider range of problems to which these theorems are now being applied.We show that the difference between StahPs extremal domain and the function's domain is responsible for theoretical nonconvergence and that the fundamental cause of numerical nonconvergence is the magnitude of logarithmic capacity of the branch cut,a concept central to understanding nonconvergence.We introduce theorems using the necessary mathematical parlance and then translate the language to show its implications to convergence of nonlinear problems in general and specifically to the PF problem.We show that,among other possibilities,the existence of Chebotarev points,which are embedding specific,are a possible theoretical impediment to convergence・The theoretical foundation of Part I is necessary for understanding the numerical behavior of HEM discussed in Part II. 展开更多
