Transient angle stability of inverters equipped with the robust droop controller is investigated in this work.At first, the conditions on the control references to guarantee the existence of a feasible post-disturbance operating point are derived. Then, the post-disturbance equilibrium points are found and their stability properties are characterized.Furthermore, the attraction regions of the stable equilibrium points are accurately depicted by calculating the stable and unstable manifolds of the surrounding unstable equilibrium points, which presents an explanation to system transient stability. Finally, the transient control considerations are provided to help the inverter ridethrough the disturbance and maintain its stability characteristics. It is shown that the transient angle stability is not a serious problem for droop controlled inverters with proper control settings. 展开更多

This study presents a comprehensive impact analysis of the rotor angle stability of a proposed international connection between the Philippines and Sabah,Malaysia,as part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)Power Grid. This study focuses on modeling and evaluating the dynamic performance of the interconnected system, considering the high penetration of renewable sources.Power flow, small signal stability, and transient stability analyses were conducted to assess the ability of the proposed linked power system models to withstand small and large disturbances, utilizing the Power Systems Analysis Toolbox(PSAT)software in MATLAB.All components used in the model are documented in the PSAT library.Currently, there is a lack of publicly available studies regarding the implementation of this specific system.Additionally, the study investigates the behavior of a system with a high penetration of renewable energy sources.Based on the findings, this study concludes that a system is generally stable when interconnection is realized, given its appropriate location and dynamic component parameters.Furthermore, the critical eigenvalues of the system also exhibited improvement as the renewable energy sources were augmented. 展开更多

An active front steering (AFS) intervention control during braking for vehicle stability is presented. Based on the investigation of AFS mechanism, a simplified model of steering system is established and integrated with vehicle model. Then the AFS control on vehicle handling dynamics during braking is designed. Due to the difficulties associated with the sideslip angle measurement of vehicle, a state observer is designed to provide real time estimation. Thereafter, the controller with the feedback of both sideslip and yaw angle is implemented. To evaluate the system control, the proposed AFS controlled vehicle has been tested in the Hardware-in-the-loop-simulation (HILS) system and compared with that of conventional vehicle. Results show that AFS can improve vehicle lateral stability effectively without reducing the braking performance. 展开更多

The laser altimeter loaded on the GaoFen-7(GF-7)satellite is designed to record the full waveform data and footprint image, which can obtain high-precision elevation control points for stereo image. The footprint camera equipped on the GF-7 laser altimetry system can capture the energy distribution at the time of laser emission and the image of the ground object where the laser falls, which can be used to judge whether the laser is affected by the cloud. At the same time, the centroid of laser spot on the footprint image can be extracted to monitor the change of laser pointing stability. In this manuscript,a data quality analysis scheme of laser altimetry based on footprint image is presented.Firstly, the cloud detection of footprint image is realized based on deep learning. The fusion result of the model is about 5%better than that of the traditional cloud detection algorithm, which can quickly and accurately determine whether the laser spot is affected by cloud.Secondly, according to the characteristics of footprint image,a threshold constrained ellipse fitting method for extracting the centroid of laser spot is proposed to monitor the pointing stability of long-period lasers.Based on the above method, the change of laser spot centroid since GF-7 satellite was put into operation is analyzed, and the conclusions obtained have certain reference significance for the quality control of satellite laser altimetry data and the analysis of pointing angle stability. 展开更多

The influence of dihedral layout on lateral–directional dynamic stability of the tailless flying wing aircraft is discussed in this paper. A tailless flying wing aircraft with a large aspect ratio is selected as the object of study, and the dihedral angle along the spanwise sections is divided into three segments. The influence of dihedral layouts is studied. Based on the stability derivatives calculated by the vortex lattice method code, the linearized small-disturbance equations of the lateral modes are used to determine the mode dynamic characteristics. By comparing 7056 configurations with different dihedral angle layouts, two groups of stability optimized dihedral layout concepts are created. Flight quality close to Level 2 requirements is achieved in these optimized concepts without any electric stability augmentation system. 展开更多

To investigate the longitudinal motion stability of aircraft maneuvers conveniently, a new stability analysis approach is presented in this paper. Based on describing longitudinal aerodynamics at high angle-of-attack (a < 50 ) motion by polynomials, a union structure of two-order differential equation is suggested. By means of nonlinear theory and method, analytical and global bifurcation analyses of the polynomial differential systems are provided for the study of the nonlinear phenomena of high angle-of-attack flight. Applying the theories of bifurcations, many kinds of bifurcations, such as equilibrium, Hopf, homoclinic (heteroclinic) orbit and double limit cycle bifurcations are discussed and the existence conditions for these bifurcations as well as formulas for calculating bifurcation curves are derived. The bifurcation curves divide the parameter plane into several regions; moreover, the complete bifurcation diagrams and phase portraits in different regions are obtained. Finally, our conclusions are applied to analyzing the stability and bifurcations of a practical example of a high angle-of-attack flight as well as the effects of elevator deflection on the asymptotic stability regions of equilibrium. The model and analytical methods presented in this paper can be used to study the nonlinear flight dynamic of longitudinal stall at high angle of attack. 展开更多
