The forming process, magnetic properties, and temperature stability were studied. The results indicate that the optimal temperature of the process, which was decided by the vis-cosity of the binders, was 110°C. With increasing pressure, the density of the magnets increased. When the pressure was above 700 MPa, the powder particles were destroyed and the magnetic properties decreased. The magnetic properties of the anisotropic bonded magnets were as follows: remanence Br=0.98 T, intrinsic coercivity iHc=1361 kA/m, and maximum energy product BHmax=166 kJ/m3. The magnets had excellent thermal stability because of the high coercivity and good squareness of demagnetization curves. The flux density of the magnets was 35% higher than that of isotropic bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets at 120°C for 1000 h. The flux density of the bonded magnets showed little change with regard to temperature.展开更多

The results showed that both the remanence and the coercivity of magnet increased with increasing alignment field. The demagnetization process of the magnet can be classified as the nucleation process inside the grains and the domain-wall motion between the grains. The combined effect of two processes determines the coercivity of HDDR NdFeB bonded magnets.展开更多

The free surface and wheel-contacted surface exhibit different texture direction. Modification of composition not only enhances magnetic properties, but also changes texture direction of the ribbon. Low temperature heat treatment can increase the magnetic properties to some extent, and high temperature annealing decreases the magnetic properties. Both low and high temperature heat treatment have effects on grain orientation, but the difference still exists between the two surfaces of the ribbon. So it is infeasibility to prepare anisotropic Nd_2Fe_ 14B/α-Fe nanocomposite magnets by direct melt spinning.展开更多

Frequency-selective surface with cross-dipole element has a great effect on the directivity, radiation pattern, and gain of such an antenna. The experimental results show that frequency-selective surface (FSS) significantly improve the radiation performance of anisotropic magnetic metamaterial antenna. For example, as a single anisotropic magnetic metamaterial antenna, half power beam width is 4 degrees in the H planes, and the gain of this antenna is 19.5dBi at 10CHz, achieving a 2.1 degree increment in half power beam width, and a 7.3 dB gain increment by loading with the FSS reflector. The simulating results are consistent with our experimental results.展开更多

It is demonstrated that the SMM's magnetization can change periodically with periodic gate voltage due to the driving oI the temperature gradient. Under an appropriate matching of the electrode polarization, the temperature difference and the pulse width of gate voltage, the SMM's magnetization can be completely reversed in a period of gate voltage. The corresponding flipping time can be controlled by the system parameters. In addition, we also investigate the tunneling anisotropic magnetoresistance (TAMFt) of the device in the steady state when the ferromagnetic electrode is noncollinear with the easy axis of the SMM, and show the jump characteristic of the TAMR.展开更多

Transport and magnetic properties in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the a-c plane are investigated. We find that the resistivity anisotropy P⊥/P∥ lies in the range 486-615 for different compounds at 2K, indicating the highly two-dimensional character. In both the orientations, the charge-density-wave transitions start near Tcow = 284(3)K, 316(3)K, 359(3)K for NdSeTe2, PrSeTe2, CeSeTe2, respectively, with a considerable increase in dc resistivity. While for LaSeTe2, no obvious resistivity anomaly is observed up to 380K. The value of TCDW increases monotonically with the increasing lattice parameters. Below TCDW, slight anomalies can be observed in NdSeTe2, PrSeTe2 and CeSeTe2 with onset temperature at 193(3)K, 161(3)K, 108(3)K, respectively, decreasing as lattice parameters increase. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the valence state of rare earth ions are trivalenee in these compounds.
