A Sentiment Analysis Based Model for Recruitment by Higher Institutions

The traditional roles of a university are teaching and research with the aim of developing society and contributing positively to the national economic development by producing skilled and well-tutored graduates. However, recruitments by these higher institutions are too reliant on the eligibility provided by Resumes of candidates, while neglecting their suitability drawn from their research activity and publications online. This study identifies insights in recruitment trends in higher institutions of learning and uses Artificial Intelligence to produce a more rounded and balanced decision-making process that caters for both eligibility and suitability. The methodology employs the machine learning process using the Multinomial Naïve Bayes for training the model as well as the Vader sentiment analyzer for accuracy and testing. The datasets used contained Resume instances as well as author publication information. The results show a score of 83.9% for the model as well as a sentiment analysis score of 1, indicating an overall positive score. The results show that sentiment analysis can help educational institutions in improving their recruitment models and attracting more suitable candidates for such roles.

Research on Patent Situation of Medical Devices in China

Objective To study the patent situation of medical device industry in China based on patent data.Methods The analysis function of the patent search software incoPat was used to analyze the patent situation from two perspectives:The overall situation and the technical level.Results and Conclusion At present,China’s medical device industry is developing rapidly under the leadership of enterprises as the main body of innovation,but only 16%of patents are authorized.In addition,the technology distribution of medical device industry is mainly related to diagnostic,surgical and identification medical devices and implantable devices,accounting for 59%of the main technology distribution,and their technical effects are mainly related to improving convenience,reducing complexity,and improving safety.The quality of patents related to medical device industry in China is low,the technology distribution is not rich enough,and the level of technical efficacy is low.

Patent Information Analysis of Front-end Industry Chain in China's Tobacco Industry

The research performed analysis on patent applicant ranking, IPC, patent type and legal status in order to explore application and authorization of front-end industry chain dominated by planting, breeding, soil improvement and substrate culti- vation technologies. The results showed that research institutions and big tobacco enterprises play a leading role in the tobacco industry, for example, Yunnan Tobac- co Agricultural S＆T Research Institute and Guizhou Tobacco Agricultural S＆T Re- search Institute have a total of 26 patents; A01G subclass represents 58% of total patents, dominated by Yunnan Tobacco Agricultural S＆T Research Institute and Henan Agricultural University; there are only invention and practical use patents, of which invention patents represent 92%; authorized patents take up to 31% and in- valid patents represent 23%.

A SECRETARY PROBLEM ON FUZZY SETS

This paper deals with a secretary problem on fuzzy sets, which allows both the recall of applicants and the uncertainty of a current applicant receiving an offer of employmellt. A new decision criterion is given to select a satisfactory applicant. This result extends the works of M.C.K. Yang and M.H. Smith.

The Role of Nuclear Regulators in Reviewing Population Growth Projections

One of the roles of nuctear regulators is to review population projections calculated by applicants for populations lying in the vicinity of nuclear power plants. This paper examines methods of calculating rates of growth and thus calculating future population growth. This paper is concerned about regulators making sure that nuclear power plants are not located near densely populated centers and that population centers located near nuclear power plants do not become densely populated. In the case of El Dabaa city in the north coast of Egypt, south west of the nominated plant site, three rates of growth 1.5%, 2.5% and 3% were identified. The first is the current population growth rate of the city, the second is the average national growth rate and the third is the expected growth rate of the city when the nuclear power plant gets constructed and operated. In all three cases, this city is a population center and rules of distance from the nuclear power plant shall apply. Thus the further natural growth of this city should be controlled and directed away from the downwind of the plant.

Comparative Study on the Domestic and Abroad Patent Application about Liquid Laundry

In this paper, a comparison on the domestic and abroad patent application about liquid laundry was provided which related to the patent application number and the change trend, the patent protection subject, patent strategy, and the patent application writing style. Especially, the applications from the domestic and abroad important applicants were analyzed. Based on the analysis mentioned above, this paper also provided the reference and recommendations from the patent view for practitioners of technology field.
