Current Situation and Implementation Paths of International Understanding Education in Local Application-oriented Universities

It is urgent and necessary to implement international understanding education in local application-oriented colleges and universities.Improving the international competitiveness of talents and cultivating global citizens is one of the goals of higher education.This paper discussed the problems of international understanding education in local application-oriented colleges and universities,including weak policy orientation,insufficient practical exploration,aphasia of national culture,etc.It is recommended to implement the international understanding education from two ways:subject penetration and project-based professional courses.In addition,the introduction of Chinese culture cannot be ignored to prevent the absence of national culture in cross-cultural communication.

Difficulties and Breakthrough Strategies in the Team Construction of Part-time Teachers in Application-oriented Universities

Strengthening the team construction of part-time teachers is required by the transformation and development of the universities,the realization of their goals of being developed into an application-oriented universities and their talent cultivation and long-term development.The existing problem regarding the part-time teachers in current application-oriented universities are the low proportion of part-time teachers,a shortage of high level parttime teachers,the absence of relevant laws and regulations,a lack of systematic policies or financial support for part-time teachers as well as the unsound management mechanism with insufficient scientific and reasonable employment scheme for part-time teachers.To strengthen the team construction of the part-time teachers in application-oriented universities,firstly we should improve the existing laws,regulations and policies and broaden the financial support channels.Secondly,we should develop the recruitment channels for part-time teachers and pay attention to introducing high-tech and highly-skilled talents.Thirdly,we should improve the management over part-time teachers and promote their value.Fourthly,it should adopt a people-oriented management concept and establish an effective evaluation and incentive mechanism for part-time teachers.

Research on the Training Mode of "Three-quality Talents" in Application-oriented Universities Based on OBE

Based on the concept of outcome-based education (OBE) and the existing OBE training mode, this paper puts forward the training mode of "three-quality talents" as a supplement. This mode effectively helps Chinese application-oriented colleges and universities to improve the training quality of application-oriented talents, is an effective way to train application-oriented undergraduate professionals, and has a certain promotion and application value.

This article summarizes the current situation of educational informatization construction on this campus and proposes suggestions for its improvement path, providing constructive reference opinions for the development of similar universities.

Potential Benefits and Obstacles of the Use of Internet of Things in Saudi Universities: Empirical Study

Internet of Things (IoT) among of all the technology revolutions has been considered the next evolution of the internet. IoT has become a far more popular area in the computing world. IoT combined a huge number of things (devices) that can be connected through the internet. The purpose: this paper aims to explore the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) generally and outline the main definitions of IoT. The paper also aims to examine and discuss the obstacles and potential benefits of IoT in Saudi universities. Methodology: the researchers reviewed the previous literature and focused on several databases to use the recent studies and research related to the IoT. Then, the researchers also used quantitative methodology to examine the factors affecting the obstacles and potential benefits of IoT. The data were collected by using a questionnaire distributed online among academic staff and a total of 150 participants completed the survey. Finding: the result of this study reveals there are twelve factors that affect the potential benefits of using IoT such as reducing human errors, increasing business income and worker’s productivity. It also shows the eighteen factors which affect obstacles the IoT use, for example sensors’ cost, data privacy, and data security. These factors have the most influence on using IoT in Saudi universities.
