The CTB Water Wall project is a maximal product life cycle utilization concept study by members of the space architecture design community.Its function is to demonstrate a human space activity Cargo Transport Bag(CTB)...The CTB Water Wall project is a maximal product life cycle utilization concept study by members of the space architecture design community.Its function is to demonstrate a human space activity Cargo Transport Bag(CTB)that becomes a primary water recycling membrane element after delivery of cargo,and then a permanent architectural building block for sustainable space habitation after its use in water treatment is complete.As such,it is intended as an experiment in radical life cycle product optimization in an extremely mass-constrained application environment(human space operations).It also introduces some fundamentally interesting concepts in architectural use of waste materials in extreme environments.Finally,it is in some ways a simple,tactile and visual demonstration of how far sustainable product design can be taken,if the motivation and technical justification are present.展开更多

It is surveyed that growth mechanism of Heshun Ancient Town involves positive and negative effects simultaneously. Positive effect refers to integrity of boundary of Ancient Town and good inheritance of newly- developed public buildings. In contrast, negative effect refers to simplification and shortage of characteristics of newly-developed individual dwelling. With sustainable development, it would be wise for construction of Heshun new countryside to optimize diversified construction symbols.展开更多
This paper is based on a scientific methodology developed by its author(1987)in his doctoral dissertation and later(2004)published in a book.According to this methodology,architecture is understood as a system consist...This paper is based on a scientific methodology developed by its author(1987)in his doctoral dissertation and later(2004)published in a book.According to this methodology,architecture is understood as a system consisting of four basic elements:Environment,Man,Boundaries and Perspectives.As a case study,this methodology was checked and confirmed(in the dissertation and in the cited book)on the example of an oriental-type town hall in Bosnia and Herzegovina,Serbia,Montenegro,Kosovo and Macedonia,and later in all published books,to date.In this paper,the author draws attention to the element of Perspective(in architecture)thus emphasizing its exceptional importance in understanding architecture as a whole.In doing so,this element cannot be separated from the other three elements(Environment,Man,Boundaries)since with them he builds architecture as a single whole.展开更多
The design of all spatial scares in a manufactured environment is part of the architectural skills and knowtedge. Therefore, an architectural design should be drafted to reduce the vulnerability of humans and building...The design of all spatial scares in a manufactured environment is part of the architectural skills and knowtedge. Therefore, an architectural design should be drafted to reduce the vulnerability of humans and buildings against unexpected events, such as terrorist attacks and bombardments. Human casualties and equipment destruction inside the buitdings coutd be prevented by designing a suitabte architectural space. This study addresses the absence of a codified and detaited criterion to evatuate architecturat spaces and their design. Hence, art proposed indices for architectural spaces have been extracted using the ideas of experts in the field of architecture and exptosives. Questionnaires were presented to 25 experts to weigh the effective indices using the anatytic hierarchy process method. The human-oriented (ergonomic) characteristics of the buitding space is found to be the most important factor in facilitating crisis management, followed by the Location of criticat spaces.展开更多
