Generally, ring spun yarns are manufactured from roving which is produced by roving frame. In this paper, an experiment has been done producing ring spun cotton yarn directly from finisher drawn sliver eliminating the roving frame. Total 3 types of yarn with the various linear density of 8 Ne, 10 Ne & 12 Ne were produced using a roving frame and without using a roving frame. In the next step, physical and mechanical properties of those yarns including unevenness, imperfections, hairiness & tenacity were investigated. The result showed that ring spun cotton yarns produced from sliver exhibited inferior physical and mechanical properties compared with samples from the conventional ring spinning system. 展开更多

Hadoop应用程序存在计算密集属性和调度时间属性,但是Hadoop大数据平台集成的第二代资源管理器Yarn内置的三种资源调度器无法将相同属性的应用程序均衡分配到计算节点上,导致部分节点负载过高,出现严重的计算任务长尾效应。文中提出了一种应用程序属性感知的Yarn负载均衡调度模型——APB Scheduler。APB Scheduler自动感知应用程序属性,将相同属性应用程序的Container按照动态资源计划均衡分配到集群计算节点上,并使用NSGA-Ⅲ算法完成最优分配方案计算。实验结果表明,APB Scheduler解决了相同属性应用程序的Container分配倾斜问题,大幅提升了集群的性能和稳定性。 展开更多

In this paper, the difference of the twist insertion levels of the compact and ring spun yarns of the same count is analyzed based on the relationship of the yarn twist factor to the twist angle and the bulk density. It is proposed that the relationship of the twist angle, twist level, and the yarn diameter should be synthetically considered when evaluating the twist insertion level of the compact yarn. The twist angle of the compact yarn is smaller than that of the ring yarn with the same twist insertion level. This results from the ordered fiber arrangement and compact structure of the compact yarn. Experiment was conducted to verify the conclusions. It is also discovered that the selection of the twist factor of the compact yarn, which can be usually lower than that of the ring yarn by 10%-15%, can be determined based on the yarn tensile strength. 展开更多

This paper presents a comparison study of two models for predicting the strength of rotor spun cotton yarns from fiber properties. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy system inference (ANFIS) and Multiple Linear Regression models are used to predict the rotor spun yarn strength. Fiber properties and yam count are used as inputs to train the two models and the count-strength-product (CSP) was the targel. The predictive performances of the two models are estimated and compared. We found that the ANFIS has a better predictive power in comparison with linear multiple regression model. In order to increase the application area of nanofibers,electrospun nanofiber yarns have drawn attention of many researchers around the globe.Once the production method of nanofiber yarn is mature enough to be universally accepted,many new gates of applications will open to the world.In this review,different electrospinning techniques of electrospun nanofiber yarns are divided into needle electrospinning and needleless electrospinning.Considering yarn twist as an important mechanism,needle electrospinning technique is further categorized into mechanical,electrical and field flow twisting methods.Moreover,parameters influencing the mechanical properties of electrospun nanofiber yarns are investigated.Methods of improving mechanical properties of nanofiber yarns are addressed,including hot-water-bath treatment,addition of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and introducing regulators.Finally,applications of electrospun nanofiber yarns in different fields of smart textile and bioengineering are summed-up.In summary,challenges encountered in the industrialization of nanofiber yarns and future prospects are anticipated. 展开更多

Yarn quality characteristics are affected by processing parameters. A 36 tex rotor spun yarn of 50/50 Basofil/ cotton (B/C) blended yarn was spun, and the spinning process optimised for rotor speed, opening roller speed and twist factor. Selected yarn characteristics were studied during the optimization process. During the optimizations process yarn elongation and hairiness reduced with increase in rotor speed. Tenacity increased with increase of rotor speed. The increase in TF caused tenacity and CV of count to increase up to a peak and then started to decrease with further increase of TF.While TF caused an increase in yarn hairiness, elongation decreased to a minimum level and then started to increase with further increase of TF. CV of count and hairiness increased with increase in opening roller speed, but tenacity and elongation decreased with increase in opening roller speed. The optimization process yielded the optimum levels for rotor speed, opening roller speed and twist factor (TF) as 45,000 rpm, 6,500 rpm and 450 respectively. As per uster Standards the optimum yam showed good results for CV of count, CV of tenacity and thin places/km. 展开更多

The lower strength of friction spun yarns has became a key problem that hinder the develop-ment of friction spinning,especially in high speeds and fine yarns.In this paper a project aimed atincreasing the strength of friction spun yarns by using a false twist process has been made.In re-ported experiment false twist was inserted into the yarn which has been formed on a friction spin-ning machine,so that it made the yarn untwist at first,then regain the twist.In the meantime draftwas applied to generate more tension than that which had been experienced during yarn formationon the friction spinning machine.It made the yarn reforming and the loosely bound fibres in thefriction spun yarn formed due to extremely low tension on the friction spinning machine becametighter.Results indicate that with the proper draft,tension and false twist the tenacity of processedyarn will increase more than 10%.This project is an attempt to discover whether improvements can be made and whether it isworth pursuing research into modifications of yarn structure.The results imply that if the yarntension can be raised during yarn formation on the friction spinning machine or a chance is offeredto the yarn to reform after the yarn formation the yarn tenacity will be increased obviously. 展开更多

Friction spun core yarns were used in the experiments with polypropylene fiber sheath and glass filament core. The technique of sirospun process is applied on a modified semi-worsted balloonless spinningframe to investigate the effect of spindle-speed,yarn-twist and strand-spacing on yarn properties.Yarn breaking strength,breaking extension,evenness and imperfection are examined on the basisof CCD experimental design.Yarn hairiness is particularly concerned,being found that all spinningparameters tested have significant effects on hairiness and that the minimum number of hairs oc-curs at the strand-spacing of 14.4 mm.Compared to conventional single spun yarn,experimentshave revealed the greatest advantage of using sirospun process is that all sirospun yarns have muchless hairiness.A new sirospun yarn fault,so called“loop”,has also been examined.The most likely cause forthis yarn fault is the strand-tension unbalance between the two strands when low tension spinningis applied.Further analysis and some initial tests have been carried out in the hope of overcomingthis loop fault which is an important obstacle to the application of balloonless spinning. 展开更多

Having regard to the spe-cial construction of rotor spun yarn, some modifications for Hearle’s theory have been made inorder to apply Hearle’ s theory to rotor spun yarn. The paper then goes into calculating thetensile curve and investigating the effect of main parameters and spinning conditions on thetensile behaviour of rotor spun yarn. It was found that the following facts are noteworthy forimproving the mechanical properties of rotor spun yarn: (1) Selecting suitable navel so as tocontrol the P. T. E. length within a reasonable range. (2) Improving the design of single fibresupply device to decrease the amount of spoiled fibre and hence increase the effective fibrelength. (3) Increasing spinning yarn tension without yarn break to enhance the fibre migrationratio. (4) For the rotor spun yarn of industrial use, it is the way to increase the yarn strengththat the rotor groove should be designed with the groove angle beneficial to decrease the yarnspecific volume. 展开更多

This article presents a comparative analysis of the properties of cotton yarn spun on aerodynamic compact spinning and open-end rotor spinning systems. Yarn samples with a linear density of 50 Tex, 37 Tex, 30 Tex, 25 Tex, and 20 Tex were spun both on the aerodynamic compact and rotor spinning systems using the same finisher drawn sliver of medium staple cotton which were produced by a specific mixing. The quality parameters such as mass variation, imperfection index, hairiness, and tensile behavior (strength in count strength product, elongation percentage) of the yarn samples were assessed and analyzed. The results revealed that aerodynamic compact spun yarn had a lower unevenness and mass variation, a higher imperfection in case of a finer count, less hairiness, higher tensile strength, and lower elongation% compared to the open-end rotor spun yarn samples. Finally, paired- samples t-test and regression analysis were carried out by using IBM SPSS 25 to check the significance of yarn quality parameters and correlation among them. 展开更多

Artificial yarn muscles show great potential in applications requiring low-energy consumption while maintaining high performance. However, conventional designs have been limited by weak ion-yarn muscle interactions and inefficient “rocking-chair” ion migration. To address these limitations, we present an electrochemical artificial yarn muscle design driven by a dual-ion co-regulation system. By utilizing two reaction channels, this system shortens ion migration pathways, leading to faster and more efficient actuation. During the charging/discharging process, PF_6~- ions react with carbon nanotube yarn, while Li~+ ions react with an Al foil. The intercalation reaction between PF_6~- and collapsed carbon nanotubes allows the yarn muscle to achieve an energy-free high-tension catch state. The dual-ion coordinated yarn muscles exhibit superior contractile stroke, maximum contractile rate, and maximum power densities, exceeding those of “rocking-chair” type ion migration yarn muscles. The dual-ion co-regulation system enhances the ion migration rate during actuation, resulting in improved performance. Moreover, the yarn muscles can withstand high levels of isometric stress, displaying a stress of 61 times that of skeletal muscles and 8 times that of “rocking-chair” type yarn muscles at higher frequencies. This technology holds significant potential for various applications, including prosthetics and robotics. 展开更多
